Reviews for Hôtel du Château
Review 1:nothing
Review 2:Welcoming,quiet hotel I loved the friendly relaxed area of Vincennes which has nice shops and restaurants. Found a boulangerie with delicious food.Accessible to central Paris and Gare du Nord. Friend recommended, great find.
Review 3:What is not to like.
Review 4:An ideal base location for exploring Paris; the Metro is a 2 minute walk away. The Hotel is compact but bijou and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 5:We had the room under the roof and to the street. So hot and we were not able to leave the window open, cause the street was really loud. That was a pit of a down side on our holiday.
Review 6:they could improve cleaning by removing few molds in the bathroom which didn't really bother too much.
Review 7:Location is close to the Metro, shops, restaurants and the castle of Vincennes. Room was nicely decorated with great view of the castle.
Review 8:No fridge to keep drinks cool .
Review 9:Accomodation for a family of 4 in Paris was spacious with 2 single beds for the children in an adjoining room to the double bedroom . No fridge but did have a safe for valuables in the bedroom.
Review 10:the bed is comfortable. Staffs are very kind. The location is good. rerA is about 5minutes on foot from the hotel. When I am there, the nearest Metro is closed. the room is clean and a little small, but I feel it is not a problem.
Review 11:The rooms look exactly like in the pictures, the are very clean and tastefully decorated, very, very nice and helpful staff, breakfast was delicious. The location is also convenient when you travel to Paris by car, we reserved parking for our car and then used the public transport (subway is in walking distance). It is definitely a place where we intend to return when visiting Paris again
Review 12:all good.
Review 13:Being granted request for quiet room atop historical spiral staircase with beautiful view of Chateau below.Adornment of hotel with medieval paintings and sculptures.Very helpful and knowledgeable receptionists and excellent amenities including metro nearby.
Review 14:we drove here and the navigator was confused since the hotel is too small to attract your attention... the wall of the room was thin so we can hear babe crying in other room.
Review 15:there is a public parking lot near to the hotel. staffs are nice, room is clean, wifi is good
Review 16:The room was small, but it was not such a big problem...the lack of a lift was somewhat of a problem, however.... As far as breakfast is concerned, there was not much choice, but it was still tasty and relative to the price...The coffee was actually not very good /too weak -looked/tasted more like tea/, but that's a 'hotel coffee', after all....
Review 17:The location was perfect (metro line nearby, taking you directly to the heart of Paris); the surrounding area is very nice - Vincennes is a charming place - there is the Chateau, the Parc Floral de Paris, etc. to stroll around...the hotel was very well managed and the reception staff was politely and efficiently responding to requests; cleanliness of room was good..the provision of toilet amenities was a good thing..the possibility to leave your car at a nearby parking at no big cost is another plus... In general, a hotel worth recommending to anyone who wants to be close enough to Paris for all its tourist sights, and far enough to enjoy a more peaceful/natural and not so expensive setting!
Review 18:-Car parking should be reserved 4 days before arrival -Earplugs are needed. because the landmark is across the road. So you cannot have quiet room and the view at the same time.
Review 19:- there are streets nearby (3 minutes by feet) with free parking, although spaces are limited. - landmark view from the room 34 (Standard Double Room) is amazing
Review 20:conveniently located near a metro stop, very clean and comfortable. the quad room worked out great for our family. staff friendly and speak fluent English. we didn't purchase breakfast but it looked like a good value for the price.
Review 21:-no A/C. We had to sleep with windows open, which led to alot of street noise.
Review 22:-5 minute walk to Metro -20 minutes or less to main attractions in Paris -friendly, helpful staff who go out of their way to make stay comfortable -WIFI in room -room was clean upon arrival and was cleaned daily with new towels provided
Review 23:situated within 1 minute to metro station, 5 stops to The Louve and about 5 minutes. Good local bars and restaurants under hotel and in the street. it appears to be a very safe area to be
Review 24:Breakfast was served in the reception area instead of a restaurant. There was no elevator and i had to take the stares all the way up with my heavy lugage. Hotel situated on a very noisy street.
Review 25:Bed was confortable, very friendly staff at the reception
Review 26:Noisy stairs and no lift Small rooms Breakfast was a bit limited
Review 27:Location Quadruple room option Friendly Staff Choice of restaurants nearby Proximity to Metro
Review 28:Our window opened up just above the back door of a restaurant so it was a bit noisy during the night with staff in and out. Not a huge deal as we were so tired from our long hours of sight-seeing, but a bit aggravating during the night.
Review 29:This is a great hotel if you want to stay near Paris center but not pay the outrageous prices. It is VERY close to the metro and you can be in Paris in 15 minutes. It is also right across the road from the Vincennes Castle. The rooms and bath are small, but we were only there to sleep so it was perfect for that purpose. The staff were all VERY friendly and the breakfast was good. We had a car and the parking situation was perfect, just around the corner at the Esso garage (note it is closed from 10p-7a). Also there is a laundry mat just a few doors down from the hotel that opened early....very convenient to wash a few loads for our family of 4! Overall, great experience!
Review 30:We requested a first floor room and was given a room on the top floor! (lots and lots of spiral stairs to climb). We booked on-line through you and gave debit card to secure booking on the understanding that we were to pay bill on departure, however had to pay 200 euro's as depositon arrival. It appears they were attempting to take the equivalent of £96.00 as security from my card.
Review 31:Not easy to park the car in the area
Review 32:The hotel is close to the Metro, rooms are small but confortables, nice view
Review 33:Great location near to station for travel into Paris. Amazing friendly staff throughout stay and incredible value for money.
Review 34:No elevator, so athletic type needed to ascend testing stairwell. Be advised.
Review 35:Professional staff
Review 36:No lift, no minibar(fridge)
Review 37:Location, contracted safe parking place, bathtub, relatively big space for Paris suburbs.
Review 38:No elevator means you lug heavy luggage upstairs
Review 39:Quiet hotel in a nice neighbourhood Well connected to public transport
Review 40:Spiral staircase, streets are loud at night
Review 41:Proximity to a metro station, comfy beds, crispy clean sheets
Review 42:Nothing.
Review 43:Lovely room. Beautifully decorated. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Great location.Close to car park & Metro. Free wifi.
Review 44:The stairs are a killer
Review 45:Really pleased with it
Review 46:Easy to drive to. Right next to metro. Nice location by castle. Nice little area.
Review 47:Nothing
Review 48:Well located and near the Castle Quiet Historical decoration Nice bed Air fan Furnitures in the bathroom
Review 49:Extremely small rooms, but very well maintained.
Review 50:Awesome location, very close to Metro, right across the street from the Chateau du Vincennes. Very helpful staff
Review 51:The end tables were not functional. There was no lift and navigating the stairs with luggage was difficult.
Review 52:The bathroom had good ventilation and hot water.
Review 53:If I really want to look for something negative I could say that the toilet was small and there was no elevator in the building. But let's just keep the first one and regard the second as a chance for some exercise :)
Review 54:A very warm and cozy 'medieval style' hotel where you feel comfortable and welcome from the first moment. The location of the hotel is perfect, with a very nice view to the castle and lots of parking spots in the vicinity. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we could even choose the room of our preference upon our arrival. You have to try the authentic French croissant served for breakfast. Definitely recommended :)
Review 55:The hotel was very centrally located in Vincennes, near shops and restaurants. We enjoyed visiting the castle (across the street) as well as the outdoor market on Sunday.
Review 56:Traffic noise in morning. Its the only negative thing.
Review 57:It is really a great option to stay if you need to save some money onresidence in Paris, as it is an expensive city. Hotel is close to metrostation with supermarket and number of restaurants in the street beside.
Review 58:Street outside was a bit noisy; no lift which wasn't a problem for us but could be for elderly travellers as we were on third floor up spiral staircase.
Review 59:Friendly staff; excellent value breakfast; hotel charm
Review 60:There was guests holding american accent shouting 2 o'clock in the evening. I would not say the sound proof is good enough in such an old house.
Review 61:Location was really good. nice shopping area, close to vinccennes castle and metro. Service was warm Cost effective
Review 62:The room was more spacious than I was expecting and the bathroom was a really good size. Location was excellent, a minute or so from the metro station. As other reviewers have mentioned, you have to climb a spiral staircase to reach the rooms and there is no lift, so if you are elderly or have mobility problems then it might not be the place for you. It wasn't a problem for me.
Review 63:Teh hotel room is very small, and the facilities are too old. It is also a bit noisy.
Review 64:The hotel is well located, from the window you can see the chateau. It takes only 5 minuts to get to R.E.R and metro stations.
Review 65:WiFi only available in main house, toilet separate to bedroom on budget room.
Review 66:Friendly very welcoming owners. Breakfast good. Bed very comfortable. Excellent location, pretty house.
Review 67:Since the hotel is vertical, there is a spiral staircase to the sleepingroom floors. It is narrow and there is no lift/elevator. People whoare physically unable to climb stairs would not enjoy this. As we threeare fit and athletic we didn't have a problem with carrying bags up4 flights of stairs to the top floor. Large bags present a problem andwould be compounded if they were heavy.
Review 68:The area of Vicennes was recommended to us by a family friend who usedto live in Paris. It is far enough away from the center that the pricesare reasonable for Paris yet the Metro and rer connections to the citycenter are quick, easy and reasonable. Getting close to the hotel waseasy with a navigator (gps) but managing the 1-way streets was (as onereviewer already said) a bit confusing. Parking was on the street butwas possible for me just in front of the hotel. The staff were happy toadvise me that they would put the money in the parking machines andrenew them every few hours. They will need your car key in order to putthe parking vouchers inside and viewable through the front window.Parking was 6 Euro per day as a result and my car was literally at thefront door. One man on the staff was very helpful for us, Xavier. Xavierwas friendly, able to help us with any question we had and spoke Englishwell enough for us all to communicate with no problem. Breakfast at thehotel was a good European breakfast with yogurt and cereal in additionto the usual breads, jam, butter, coffee, tea, chocolate and at lessthan 9 Euro was comparable to what one would pay outside the hotel. Theroom was clean as were the bed linens and although "Parissmall" there was enough sleeping room for 3 (me, wife and adultson) together with a small armoire and a bath with shower. Water was hotand had good pressure for a nice shower. Towels were good and pillowsand extra blanket were in the armoire. We only stayed two nights and oneof these was on 1 Jan when almost all businesses around the area wereclosed. We didn't see the local area, but were I to return, Iwouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel and would love to explorethe local shops and restaurants.
Review 69:just behind the Castle it´s possible to park for free. great Hotel, great area. 1min from the Underground. we always return.

Review 81:Keys were given out without at least a name check - anybody could havepicked up the key
Review 82:Very friendly personnel
