Reviews for Maxwell's Piece B&B

Review 1:Nothing to dislike.

Review 2:Excellent b&b, could not fault it! Made to feel very welcome and would definitely recommend it. Large comfortable bedroom, quiet location, owners keen for any suggestions of improvement but couldn't think of any!

Review 3:The wifi is spotty and didnt really work in the bedrooms at all - No biggy though! you dont go there to sit on the internet!

Review 4:This bnb is beautifully located just outside of Moreton on Marsh (around a 20 minute walk if your feeling active!) it really does have a 'home from home' experience with a lovely welcome by Dave, some handmade chocolates in the room and the most comfortable bed! I would go back anyday of the week, lovely breakfast aswell! The property is immaculately kept and really peaceful, a lovely break away.

Review 5:Pricey for a B&B, but this was a cut above the rest.

Review 6:Fantastic facilities. Great breakfast. Friendly hosts - booked our evening restaurant for us.

Review 7:We loved the welcome we received upon our arrival. Very genuine hosts, Dave and Angela. Such a wonderful breakfast in a beautiful setting. Thank you for the dinner arrangements at the Plough Inn, the meal was fantastic and we were lucky enough to have the Morris Dancers there. Best of all we didn't even have to drive, Dave took care of that as well. Doesn't get any better than that.

Review 8:Very minor points really - would have liked some hair conditioner, the room we were in desperately needs a blackout curtain. I had an eyemask on with my arm over my face and it was still too bright. The duvet was perhaps too heavy for the summer and I would have liked to see options for breakfast written down rather than decide the night before but that's a very personal thing but nothing to put you off coming to stay.

Review 9:The B&B is down a lovely quiet lane and not too long a drive from a town with loads of places to eat. The room was lovely, nice and big and bright with a lovely big bathroom with a nice bath. Bed was comfy and loved having our own fridge. No problems with any facilities like the fancy electric blinds and windows, TV and internet. Angela and Dave were really lovely. Breakfast was good, my boyfriend really enjoyed the yoghurts!

Review 10:Excellent stay, good facilities in the room. Very clean. Good food and the hosts couldn't do enough for us. They even provided transport for our evening meal.

Review 11:We could find no fault , a warm welcome and hospitality from Dave and Angela, luxurious spotless room with spacious en suite, excellent breakfast and fresh milk in our room for our cups of coffee. We would have no hesitation in recommending Maxwells Piece to our friends and would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

Review 12:Would have preferred more blockout curtains on the windows so it is easier to sleep during summer when the sunrise is very early No restaurants within walking distance

Review 13:Great service Plenty of space in room and bathroom Quiet

Review 14:Lovely quite location a short drive out of the town and away from the through traffic. Modern facilities and plenty of room and privacy. Head to the town of Broadway for dinner, like a picture book English village.

Review 15:Leaving!

Review 16:Where to start? Great room, great breakfast, great location and owners that really made you feel at home. Can't rave about this place enough...although maybe I shouldn't in case they're booked out when I want to go back! ;-)

Review 17:Can be tricky to find the first time. Have the phone number handy if you need help. after that easy to access.

Review 18:Cannot fault this fab B & B and the charming and helpful hosts. Do yourself a favour and pick this one.

Review 19:Rooms were a generous size, bed to die for, David and Angela very welcoming. English Breakfast was excellent with most of the produce local. A lot of thought has gone into making the rooms extremely comfortable.

Review 20:We had one problem but it was brilliantly taken care of by Angela and Dave. A mark of their care and attention to detail.

Review 21:A beautiful B&B in a beautiful part of the world. This is a five-star B&B in every sense. You enter a wee bit of heaven and are superbly looked after, even down to Dave taking you to their favourite pub where Steve and Mandy serve up great local beer and super food. Then Steve brings you back to the B&B. Breakfast superb, rooms immaculate - and enjoy the two acres of gardens, pond and back garden wildlife! Super place, super couple. If only every B&B was like this ...

Review 22:The bedroom was smaller than I expected from the online photos.

Review 23:Dave and Angela are so kind and helpful. Dave gave us a lift into town to pick up our rental car and let us use a map. Both he and Angela gave us good tips for sightseeing and restaurants.

Review 24:Great location. Particularly liked Maxwell's B&B, Hidcote Garden, Sudeley Castle, and the country stroll from Stanton to Laverton to Buckland and back. The Cotswolds is beautiful.

Review 25:The fact it was in someone else's house which encroached on the privacy and the hosts, who are lovely, were eager to please and very inquisitive, I would have preferred to have been left alone.

Review 26:The room and surroundings

Review 27:Maxwell's Piece is simply a delight. Charming and welcoming hosts, a splendid bedroom and fabulous bathroom and a super breakfast. The offer of a lift to and from the pub where we had dinner was a bonus!

Review 28:Everything. Great place to stay, very welcoming & friendly, rooms have everything you need & more. Bed so comfy, bathroom amazing & breakfast most enjoyable. Highly recommended!!!

Review 29:The whole experience was fantastic. I couldn't fault a single thing. Its a wonderful place with fantastic hosts. Would definitely stay there again

Review 30:Leaving to come home!

Review 31:We loved (not liked) everything about Maxwell's Piece, from the first contact to the reluctant departure. We cannot fault the whole experience.

Review 32:The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious. The breakfast was delicious and our hosts, Angela and Dave, were very helpful and made us feel very welcome! The B&B is also situated in the perfect location for getting about but off the main road so it was peaceful and quiet.

Review 33:nothing.

Review 34:Friendly & helpful host. Comfy & clean bed ,you can smell cleanliness while you are sleeping, spacious bathroom with shower & bathtub. Superb quality breakfast. Good luck to choose Maxwell's Piece.

Review 35:Nothing,which I must admit makes a change for me.

Review 36:The way we were greeted by David and later by Angela. We were told the storie of the house and shown to our room which was superb.breakfast excellent.could not have been better.

Review 37:Dave and Angela were so welcoming to this fantastic B&B which is comparable to a boutique hotel. You can tell this is much more than a business to them with the excellent to detail. Clean, cosy and comfortable, I highly recommend staying here.

Review 38:I was so excited soon after we arrived this place. Large spacious bed room and bath room. Very delicious breakfast and cheerful /friendly host. That’s clean and comfortable. We're actually so relaxed and slept over in the first day. This house should be one of best houses to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. 静かでゆったりしたコッツウォルズを堪能できました。

Review 39:Nothing!

Review 40:Angela and Dave warmly welcomed us into their beautiful home. Everything was perfect, very comfortable bed, first class breakfast, proper milk in the bedroom fridge....no plastic UHT cartons here! Set in a beautiful peaceful location well situated for visiting the interesting villages close by. This accommodation raises the bar for B and B to new heights. We can't recommend Maxwells Piece highly enough.

Review 41:This b&b was lovely, we couldn't fault it. The rooms are new and large, our hosts were very helpful and hospitable and we had a great breakfast in the morning.

Review 42:Genuinely can't think of anything.

Review 43:My wife and I decided to go to the Cotswolds for our honeymoon following our wedding. Having seen the almost uniformly gushing reviews on this site and others, we decided to give Maxwell's Piece a try. This was a fantastic decision. From the moment of arrival, we were made to feel at home with Dave coming out to the car to help us with our bags, and showing us to our room. The room itself was exquisite - comfortable bed, light and pleasant decor, fridge provided in room (with non UHT milk included - a pleasant change for tea lovers used to the smallplastic containers of milk usually provided). The bathroom was huge and the facilities were perfect. Moving on to breakfast the next morning - we were treated to an absolutely delicious fresh cooked breakfast, prepared by Angela. Toast, yogurts, fruit, fresh coffee and juice were also available in ample supply. Dave and Angela were fantastic hosts for the duration of our stay and made some great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the local area. Really, this is one of the only places I have ever stayed at which I've wanted to actively recommend to friends, family and others. If you're considering it, just go for it - it will not be a decision you regret!

Review 44:Nothing

Review 45:We've stayed in two rooms for only one night in Maxwell's Piece and it was a delightful weekend! Dave is an excellent host and we felt like staying at our home. The house is superb, quiet and the rooms/bathrooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, clean, comfortable and cosy. The breakfast was delicious! We loved everything and we highly recommend you to stay at Maxwell's Piece. We will definitely return and stay more days!!!

Review 46:Only & very minor drawback was difficulty in seeing sign out front

Review 47:King bed. Lovely decor. Extras such as coffee & tea supplies. Hospitality & friendliness. Quality breakfasts

Review 48:Too far to walk into town for dinner.

Review 49:The bathrooms!! Great bedrooms. Nice breakfasts. Quiet, peaceful and comfortable location. Angela is a local and is a great information source for ideas on places to visit. Both she and Dave were great hosts.

Review 50:Nothing.

Review 54:Nothing to dislike at all.

Review 55:Peaceful location just outside Moreton in Marsh . Friendly and welcoming hosts . Comfy king size bed , spacious bathroom with walk in shower and double ended bath , toiletries and hair dryer . Lovely breakfast cooked by Angela and Dave . Perfectly placed for touring the Cotswolds . An absolute gem ! So glad I booked Maxwells Piece .

Review 56:Perfect location close to Moreton-in-Marsh but very peaceful. Very comfortable, spacious and modern accommodation. Lovely hosts, friendly and welcoming and delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend this B & B.

Review 57:The reception from Dave and Angela was so personal and friendly that we felt immediately at home. Having had a hectic 12 days we wanted somewhere where we could relax for 24 hours and Maxwell's Piece was that place. Eating a picnic supper on the terrace overloking the pond with the sun setting could not have been better. The breakfast the following morning was all local produce and started our day off brilliantly. We can't praise Dave and Angela high enough. A return is definitely on the cards before the end of the year!

Review 58:We stayed at "Maxwell's Piece" for a wedding. We were initially concerned that we had been unable to find accommodation a little nearer the reception, but we left feeling very glad that we had discovered this jewel of a bed and breakfast. Ten out of ten in every respect. we also discovered that we were just a couple of miles from Batsford Arboretum which is well worth a visit. we wish Angela and Dave all the best for the future and with all their exciting projects in the garden.

Review 59:Nothing to do with out Maxwell stay, but area, around, Morton on the marsh very poor for eating out, had to go to Broadway

Review 60:Love room good breakfast, very good hosts

Review 61:Having to go home. The rain, but the ducks enjoyed it.

Review 62:Taking a few days out from our busy life to relax and enjoy the Cotswolds. Dave and Angela were so friendly and helpful, they made us feel really at home. Home cooked breakfast was lovely with the option of toast, and also fresh fruit and really nice yoghurt. The room was spacious comfortable with luxury ensuite bathroom. The bed was really comfortable with extra pillows and blankets if needed (not that we did). The modern but solid build of the house gave an impressive view of the garden and large pond from which ducks could regularly be seen taking off. Altogether an idyllic bed and breakfast that I would recommend to everyone.

Review 63:The room is big ! so are the toilets/bathrooms Rooms are clean. Are the equipment you need is there. Wu-Fi - excellent, Very good breakfast and above all - owners - are very welcoming, very nice and helpful

Review 67:There was Nothing negative

Review 68:Exceptionally high standard accommodation more akin to a 4\5* hotel than a B & B. Extremely welcoming, friendly & accommodating hosts. The food was locally sourced with the hosts own home-made bread and jams. I had dietary requirements that were met with no problem. Ideal location set in countryside yet so close to Moreton in Marsh town centre makes it a perfect peaceful retreat or base for exploring the many & varied villages, towns stately houses & beautiful gardens the Cotswolds has to offer. For us it was both so we can't recommend it highly enough, we will definitely be returning :)

Review 69:Absolutely nothing.

Review 70:Handsome house set in a peaceful rural location. Impeccably clean. Tastefully decorated and furnished accomodation throughout. Rooms immaculately presented with every need catered for. Warm, friendly, and helpful hosts. Wonderful breakfast, cooked to perfection using finest quality ingredients.

Review 71:Having to leave.

Review 72:Everything. From the hand made chocolates, personalised welcome note and warm, friendly greeting on arrival, to the hearty breakfast, best wishes for a safe onward journey and an honest invite back, on our departure. Nothing was missed out or too much trouble for them, to ensure that our stay was the best we could ever have wished for. The room and en-suite was luxurious and attention to detail was apparent throughout. Without doubt, this is the best B&B we have ever visited and will definitely do so again, if ever we can find any dates available!!! 10/10. Excellent.
