Reviews for Tradition Hotel Kultahovi

Review 1:nothing negative to mention

Review 2:nice location by the river, easy to reach by car, small but clean and renovated rooms. Very good restaurant and local traditional food menu, good service.

Review 3:There was a group of noisy japanese people and we could not sleep because of weak room isolation. The bathroom had a sewage smell. Expensive compared to Levi Panorama hotel facilities

Review 4:Excellent localisation for aurora borealis hunting and lake Inari activities. Very good restaurant food

Review 5:We liked everything about the Tradition Hotel Kultahovi. The location -- alongside the rapids of the Juutua River -- was amazing. We kept our door open all night to hear the rapids. The room was average size, neat, and quite comfortable. The in-room sauna was amazing! We took a sauna every day in late afternoon, taking breaks to drink beer on our balcony. The staff, especially Kaisu the proprietor, was immensely helpful, giving us advice from hiking in the neighborhood to the best village to visit on Norway's Arctic coast. The cuisine at the Kultahovi restaurant was sophisticated and excellent and especially remarkable, given the remote location. We want to return to the Kultahovi during ski season.

Review 6:The facilities and decor celebrate the best of Lapland and its culture. Some rooms have en suite saunas. The owner and staff are all most kind and helpful. The restaurant is superb in both the quality and presentation of the food. Inari is the best center for exploring the north of Lapland.

Review 7:The rooms were very hot indeed and we couldn't regulate the temperature or open the windows which had no mosquito barrier. There was a ventilation vent which was blocked by the curtains preventing air circulation so made very little difference. As a result a room temperature of 24 degrees led to very poor sleepless nights.

Review 8:The area is beautiful with lots of opportunities for hiking, walks and experiencing Sami culture. Siida was really informative. We enjoyed watching red squirrels and birds while having our breakfast.

Review 9:Not very comfortable. Lots of stairs. No Lift. There is nore to expect from what we saw on the web. Not very good information about things to do at the frontdesk.

Review 10:Next to the river rapids. Nice environment.

Review 11:- No sound proof ! - Narrow beds and both of them are next to the walls. Not much space between them either. :(

Review 12:- Nice river view - Good location and close to the nature - Good service - Good breakfast and delicious dinner :)

Review 13:Hotel surrounding is great for hiking biking fishing View From Restaurant you can see river and watch beautiful birds & squirrel . Food was excellent :) delicious breadfast too Sauna in our bathroom was a treat.

Review 14:You must be prepared for Lapland mosquitos in summer. They didn't both us much, but we were prepared.

Review 15:Location on the river, in lovely Lapland is paramount. Our room had a view of the river, plus a balcony to view it from. The room had a fine, Finnish sauna, easy to use and comforting.

Review 16:Towels were thin. Pricey for value. Food was expensive and small portions. Desert was $10 for five berries in a little cream. Breakfast was minimal.

Review 17:Sauna in room. Beautiful view of river.

Review 18:Beautiful setting, terrific decor, friendly staff, exceptional place to stay! We were there for midsummers night with live music in the bar and a town party on the lakeshore. The river behind the hotel is spectacular with hiking trails and a spot for a fire.

Review 19:First night there was a truck parking in front of the hotel, having its generator running again and again. Very disturbing.

Review 20:English spoken as well as German. Staff always friendly and ready to help. Picturesque view on the river from the restaurant.

Review 21:We're lucky enough to see the northern light at 4am, all because of the TV channel that the hotel provides!! Nice and helpful staff, great room with sauna! =) Would definitely recommend this hotel for any one coming here for northern light!

Review 22:if you want to see the aurora light, you need to walk down 10 mins to Lake Inari, so it's not the best destination if you need to chase the light.

Review 23:staff are very kind, and room is quite warm and comfortable

Review 24:Helpful staff, long history property with new renovation. Love their fish eye camera for sky watching. Thanks to it, we didn't miss a brust of northern light at 8pm!

Review 25:None. I like this hotel.

Review 26:This hotel has a very good location. have a walkable distance to Inair lake and near to market. You can also wait for the Northlight in its backyard. Breakfast is very good and we had a tranditional finnish dinner. Staff are very nice and helpful. You can book activity from them.

Review 27:From the moment we saw the hotel we were pleased with our choice. Set in a quiet location by a lake the hotel is in an excellent position. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a room with a sauna which we used most days. Food is excellent with plenty of choice. Hard to pick a highlight as the husky dog sleigh and reindeer sleigh rides were both lovely - our big bonus was seeing the most beautiful display of northern lights in may hues right outside the hotel door! Highly recommended.

Review 28:We stayed in this hotel en route to Kirkenes to join a Hurtigruten Boat. After having to deal with stairs to the fifth floor apartment earlier the second floor was not problem. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room comfortable and the food excellent.

Review 29:The rooms (at least mine in the main building) are a bit old/nothing special.

Review 30:The staff were great and the restaurant unexpectedly wonderful. Beautiful riverside location.

Review 31:Foods, drinks served at Inariana restaurant are mainly local and excellent but the prices seemed little bit expensive same level as the excellent restaurants in Helsinki any case. The room windows are double glassesd but room temperature was cool for me. I took another bed's blanket over my bed. It is explained that the room heating system is to be activated when the out-side temperature gets bellow -5 degrees. Saying from my experience, I recommend you to bear in mind that during certain season, the large groups from the big country stay there disturbing quiet and clean environment.

Review 32:Whenever I trip to Lapland and Finmark, the hotel is my preferred regular lodging. this is, in the mid of Sep., my 5th visit there and I stayed 5 nights(Great thanks to hotel staffs for responding to my emerged modification due to snow and icing unable to continue driving a car with summer tires in Finmark, though I requested winter tires). The reception, dinning housekeeping staffs are friendly and cutesy with hospitality. Honestly speaking I do not want to tell about the hotel. I would like keep the hotel as my own cherished in address book. I enjoyed walking along the little streaming flow into Lake Inari as used to and saw deep Autumn leaves, wild mushrooms, berries, birds and running squireles around the hotel. After that I could enjoy the In-room sauna! This is the biggest secret to tell that you can observe Northern light when it appears to reach good place on your foot anywhere around the hotel including onto frozen up Lake Inari in winter too. Another comment on driving to the boarder safety area near Nellim, the road beyond Ivalo is unpaved and mud and slippery with rain and snow. Your car must be painted with Muddily,,,entirely..

Review 93:Excellent food. Fine view. Restaurant interior decoration.

Review 94:Very quiet place, nice view from the room's window, nice staff, great breakfast

Review 95:Staff are shy. Aren't very forthcoming with all the info like wifi code and breakfast time.

Review 97:View from riverhotel room and lounge/dining area was beautiful. Food was service was great.

Review 98:No wifi in room. Overall quality and cleanliness poor.

Review 99:The hotel is pretty noisy - the walls are thin. I was woken up by me neighbour's snoring one night. Maybe the more expensive rooms are better. Wifi gets worse the farther you are from reception.

Review 105:Helpful friendly staff, good location, sauna in room, sat on balcony overlooking river, having a beer and watched the sun not go down (was June)!

Review 106:Amazing location; quiet and peaceful but easy walking distance to town. The room had a private sauna and overlooked the river. The Northern Lights watch tv in the lounge and restaurant were brilliant; we knoew exactly when to head outside!

Review 107:I am smoker. That's a Finland rule, though I would like to enjoy a smoking at moor warm and comfortable condition.

Review 108:Calm, Clean, Kind staff, Cheep fee That's great.

Review 109:The rooms are comfortable and clean, but the design is a little old fashioned and boring.

Review 110:The place is run by a family. They are very kind and supportive with any request. The nice Sauna of the place can be booked privately for 1h, for just 5 Euro/pers.

Review 111:The cost of excursions is astronomical and beyond reason! A 2 hoursleigh ride with a fire and thermos of tea for 2 people cost us a 2weeks pension. How can 2 hours be worth $500 - Madness! Will notrecommend on this alone!

Review 112:Staff and location.

Review 113:We were traveling with another couple. Our initial room assignment was ground floor. I asked if we could have a second story room. No problem. We were close to the second floor lounge, which no one else used, so had our own living room! That was wonderful.
