Reviews for Hotel du Cygne

Review 1:No parking at the hotel though street parking and you can use the market square overnight for free ecept the night before the bi weekly market.

Review 2:The location could not be better right in the centre a decent sized shower

Review 3:There were 3 of us but only 2 tea-cups.

Review 4:Just great service at the desk - superpolite and helpful monsieur Jean-Pierre! Nice small room with a little balcony in the quiet area.

Review 5:Tired facilities obviously getting difficult to clean properly. Shower recess was mouldy at the base rim.

Review 6:Could not possibly get a hotel more central. Great location, parking nearby is free

Review 7:Very old and drafty no heat, no service avail, the whole town shuts down on Sundays, no place to eat or shop for food, not for tourists

Review 8:Only business open on Sunday when we missed plane flight from beauvois

Review 9:You could hear every person coming and going the walls were not thick. The room itself was a bit small.

Review 10:It was in the centre of town. The guy working there was very friendly.

Review 11:The hotel was great, but just a word of warning if you are staying on a Sunday night and you want to go for dinner after 9pm. Everything closes! We only found one pub that was open and it was very busy.

Review 12:The owner/manager was so accommodating. We were travelling from London to Paris cycling to raise money for charity and they allowed the cyclist to bring their bikes in a store them away in a spare room that they had. It was great as it made us all feel a lot more relaxed knowing the bikes were safe.

Review 13:the only thing was the room was a little noisy from neighbours arriving in the room, so insulation wasn't the best; its not super modern but its nice old fashioned comfort but lacking proper insulation, FYI, check taxis from, the GARE as? I think I was overcharged because on the meter it said 4.50 and then the driver pressed a button and suddenly it was 7 euro and he had stared the meter at 2.20? it is actually very close I discovered later I think he went a long way to get the extra money; that was the only disappointment of Beauvais, but that was not the hotel, there is a bus that goes very close, but its probably close enough to walk f you don't have much luggage

Review 14:very friendly smiling welcome, helpful owner who carried my bag to the first floor room was large and spacious compared to the small hotel rooms in paris it was a nice surprise with old classic gold covered chair, with a hallway, coffee and tea , good size bath and shower, extra blanket in the cupboard,

Review 15:Excellent family room with separate bedroom for the children, v spacious, could have accommodated up to 7 people. Great for a stopover on way from south of France to Calais. Receptionist friendly and helpful.

Review 16:the hotel does not have is own car park so u have 2 find a parking space in the town we found a space 2 streets up its free at night time so luckily because we arrived late and left very early we didn't have 2 pay for parking.

Review 17:we stayed in this hotel to break up a long drive across france, because there is 6 of us everywhere is quite expensive this hotel was very good value for money for my big family, the room had 2 double beds and 3 singles. the beds was all comftable and the room was clean. the hotel is right in the middle of a busy town center so it's really easy 2 find shops as places to eat, the staff was very friendly and could speak English well. we didn't have breakfast so can't say how good it is but it did smell lovely.

Review 18:There is no reception officer during night. We have asked receptionist at the evening to order taxi for us at 7:00 AM, but it does not arrived. Bad feeling and nobody to ask at the reception. No taxis in the city to catch another. I recommend to take the bus which stops around 200 meters away from hotel and skip the taxis. The hotel does not have elavator. The shower was damaged and no possibility to fix it.

Review 19:The double bed was too soft and the whole place needs a little renovation.

Review 20:The host was extremely friendly. We got a superb comfortable large room so we had enough place (we were travelling with 3 teenagers). The hotel is at perfect location near to everything (shops, restaurants, cathedral)

Review 21:the stairs, it's a long way to the third floor when you have suitcases to lug up there also.

Review 22:The hotel was in town, and close to everything you would need, the shuttle bus for the airport was only 100 metres away from hotel, the staff were friendly and seemed nice.

Review 23:The lobby is dire...the most unwelcoming, colourless, flickering light depressing place.....my heart sank...but it belies the friendly staff (the one I met) and my memorable room.

Review 24:My wonderfully coloured tiny room.....how to make the most of a miniature space.

Review 25:The stairs were the only thing I would say not good however this is the nature of the building.

Review 26:The breakfast was excellent, great value for money, friendly accomodating staff.

Review 27:The breakfast was too expensive 9 euro and nothing really special, so if you need to eat a breakfast it is better to eat outside. It will be tasty and probably more value for money. The bread/cakes were unfresh, the egg look like it was cooked the day before, and the ham was also unfresh. I can say that only coffee and croisant were good.

Review 28:The hotel is close to the center of Beauvais and the cathedrale. The city has a special atmosphere, you can see there people in every age (even after 60) having fun in pubs. The room and the whole hotel is tiny, as well as everythig inside the room (bathroom, loo)- if somebody likes that kind of things then they will admire it. The hotel needs an refreshment, but if you need to sleep one or few nights then it won't matter.

Review 29:Everything was just great!

Review 30:We stayed only for one night in one of the budget room, with external toilet. We stayed here because we had a morning flight from Beauvais and it was more convenient. Location is superb, city center, 2 min walk to the bus-stop to the airport. The thing we loved most was the gentleman at the front-desk when we arrived. He was so kind and nice and so willing to provide us information about everything, smilling all the time, it really made us feel welcome and begin our stay in the most plesant way. The hotel itself is small but the room was very comfy, biig nice bed, very clean, complementary coffee and tea. I was a little bit "affraid" of the external toilet but i was absolutely spotless. Great value, would really recommend.

Review 31:Closeness to the airport, we were able to take a short busride in the morning, which the front desk helped us arrange, in order to catch our flight from Beauvais. Staff was very nice and very helpful with everything.

Review 32:nothing to mention

Review 33:stuff is friendly, location is perfect, exactly in the downtown Stuff speak english a little bit, which is advantage in this small city

Review 34:Heating didn't work properly, our room was very cold going to bed. No real door between the bedroom and the toalet. Very noisy from upstairs and downstairs.narrow stairs and coridoors no elevator.

Review 35:Location was good.

Review 36:The street cleaner came around at 5 am and woke us up. The travel to Paris was a bit more difficult than expected but manageable.

Review 37:Large bedroom and bath room. excellent staff, nice French breakfast; good price

Review 38:There was a lot of street noise in our room, I would suggest asking for a room not facing onto the street.

Review 39:This hotel is very conveniently located for travellers entering or leaving France through beauvais. It is only 3.4 km from the airport. Staff are nice and helpful and friendly, the beds are firm and comfortable, and the bathroom facilities fine.

Review 40:a little long way from the airport Paris Beauvais Tile, where we were going for the plane,while staying in the hotel for the night near airport is a way to survive night before fly by the plane;

Review 41:small,clean hotel,not very expensive,;good location in the middle in the town, near Cathedral, however,a little didfficul to find for a person who goes for the first time there like we;

Review 42:- bedbugs!!! - stinky room - noise from the street all night long (people talking all the time and street cleaning from before 6 am) - reception working hours; no way to get in touch with staff outside of reception opening hours in case you discover insects in your room

Review 43:super friendly receptionist

Review 44:All the surrounding Cafes and Bistros did not seem to start doing food in the evening until 8 so we eventually resorted to fast food for the children (our fault for not planning for the local food culture).

Review 45:The staff were lovely and helpful, spoke good English but did their best to work with my attempts at bad French. Our corner room had a (side) view of the Cathedral and the location meant we could enjoy the city centre's evening atmosphere and still get the children to bed at a reasonable time.

Review 46:The bed was old and saggy, however you have to expect this for such a price.

Review 47:The gentleman at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. This place was clean, central and cheap.

Review 48:Just another shabby French no-stars hotel charging too much because of it's location. Shower is very difficult to use.

Review 49:10 minutes walk from the railway station and the beautiful Beauvais cathedral is just behind the corner. Friendly and helpful receptionists. Kettle in the room.

Review 50:It is loud, incredibly unbearably loud if you have a room over the street. I didn't sleep at all. The thin pillow, decrepit carpet, and funky wallpaper don't help any. I rotated between window open for stuffy funk, then closed for screaming people under window and repeated the rotation all night.

Review 51:The staff were sweet and accommodating. It's well situated to check out the town.

Review 52:We needed to accommodate 6 people total, 4 adults and 2 children and the family room provided was excellent. Was surprisingly spacious and very clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly, breakfast was nice

Review 53:I would recommend the hotel based on its location, and very friendly staff. I would caution them however on the cost. I feel the hotel is overpriced.

Review 54:Some would say they don't like the fact there's no elevator. This isn't a problem for me as I love to mini-workout.

Review 55:Lots of shops to meet needs; short walk to train or bus. Room was comfy, WiFi was good. Overall very nice.

Review 56:The man that managed the front is the sweetest and most helpful. We arrived late into the night due our flight being delayed by a couple of hours and he was so gracious to wait up and get us situated. The price was great too. Centrally located to Beauvais with wonderful bakeries in all directions.

Review 57:a murphy bed is very uncomfortable. Airport shuttle service = walk to bus stop at the train station. (Hotel should put the information on website or at the front desk.)

Review 58:[quadruple room] cleanliness, big bedroom and bath room.

Review 59:I did not expected much, therefore it exceed it my expectations in therms of offerings, There is no elevator but that the receptionist offered and helped us with the luggage , ask for wi-fi password as after 10 pm there is no one there , If you arrive late please ensure you have food and water as we barely find one kebab shop offering food, around 6-7 restaurants refuse us around 10 pm , Overall great value for money and this hotel served our purpose of catching the next day early flight perfectly.

Review 60:Pleasant receptionist, clean and neat hotel ,nicely set room , excellent center location ,safe to walk with your family and see the beautiful cathedral[ 1 minute walk] perfect for a night if you have an early flight the next day,

Review 61:IMHO, the price is too high for this type of hotel.

Review 73:Quality/price relationship. It is not a 2star hotel.

Review 74:Location.

Review 75:To many stairs

Review 76:It is a gem of a hotel in a very central location beside the fountain in Beauvais and is very good value for money.

Review 77:The shower in one of our rooms didn't work. Beds were not that comfy.

Review 78:Proximity to the town centre. Big rooms. We could store our bikes.

Review 79:Wifi unavalaible on second floor, we had to go out to the stairs to have some net

Review 80:Well locatd, big bathroom

Review 81:Friendly, helpful staff
