Reviews for Sentido Ixian Grand - Adults Only

Review 1:Hotel has seen better times. People at reception and one of the restaurants were friendly, while staff of buffet, particularly head of the waiters wasn't. Rooms (Deluxe Double Room with Sea View) ok but definitely not 5 Star, bath needed repairs, cleanliness ok but not great. Kitchen fan very loud - sounded like you are on a cruising ship all the time. Beach is stony.

Review 2:Good location

Review 3:Spa not ready, without sauna and steam room. Room wasn't very clean. Very uncomfortable sun beds. Too warm, not very well equipped and dirty gym. Not particularly friendly staff.

Review 4:View from the room. Swimming pools. Very nice breakfast. Bathtub with view. Location.

Review 5:cant get and ice only at the bat and the bar give you few ice cubes... room very dark! air conditioning is very low

Review 6:great staff great food big room good shower

Review 7:Staff were miserable at breakfast, all an effort for 2 members, not impressed,if they are not happy, they should leave. Swimming pools too cold!! Not great restaurants outside, bit tacky!

Review 8:Relaxing,on the beach,great location,near the airport,great pools,lovely evening bar area,good breakfast.

Review 9:Too many people in the hotel, I can't even move! The hotel social area should be bigger to accommodate that many people. No wifi in the room! And the one in the long didn't work. No activities what so ever!!! Very boring in the hotel, they don't even provide any tours. Breakfast was very poor quality. Definitely not a 5* hotel, I would say bad 4*

Review 10:Nice swimming pool

Review 11:Ixian is not the prettiest town in the world. But the hotel was like an oasis in a desert.

Review 12:1. Only 10 - 15 minutes from Rhodes town. 2. The hotel is right on the beach. 3. Plenty of sun loungers. 4. Two swimming pools.

Review 13:Some free weights in the gym would be nice

Review 14:Manager was very generous to us and upgraded our room to a very nice suite! We enjoyed the suite, private pool and jacuzzi a lot! The food was good, and the public pool areas was very nice. We felt totally pampered when we were there. So lucky that we found Ixian!

Review 15:This is by no means a 5 star hotel, os bearly a four with unclean rooms and the smell of wetness in the room. Gym was impossible to stay in due to stench, likely from the dame origin. No wifi in rooms and in lobby doesnt woek more than 5 minutes straight. All my complaints was recived very indifferently by the staff members. Simply switch hotel after one night. Poor deal.

Review 16:Catering was fair and the pool os actually lovely

Review 17:Rude people playing music loudly on the beach. Incorrect overcharged bill required 30mins to rectify. Quite unfriendly Greek staff (with some exceptions). A small cockroach in the bedroom.

Review 18:Comfortable room.

Review 19:There were a small number of staff who didn't give great service. The surrounding town of Ixia is very run down and not nice at all.

Review 20:Beautiful building, justifies the name 'grand'. Great food with a lot of variety. Nice large modern rooms with good air con.

Review 21:Wifi was very bad. Gym was not well , could include more dumbells etc.

Review 22:Staff was very friendly, super helpfull. We loved each and every second of our trip.

Review 23:Very poor wifi connection. The rooms have different quality standards depending on which section of the hotel you are staying in. Some have been recently renovated and are very nice and modern, others are older and of a lower standard.

Review 24:Directly situated on the beach. Good facilities, swimming pool, spa, lounge chairs, bars. Friendly staff.

Review 25:Wifi needs an upgrade to make this hotel perfect.

Review 26:Was upgraded to one of the suites with private pool. Room was fantastic which made our stay one of our most enjoyable to date. Staff very friendly and helpful. Alazonia Suites Restaurant served excellent food and would definitely recommend .

Review 27:No wifi in the rooms!? Really? This service is available in 8euro hostels but not in a "luxury hotel"? Room could have been cleaner, poolside facilities ran out of towels in late afternoon and over-burdened bar staff were not co-operative in helping the situation. Also, minibar was switched off upon arrival and took 3 hours to cool.

Review 28:The outside pool, beach access and jacuzzi bath with a view!

Review 29:Apparently it is written in the booking's small letters that the dinners is allowed with long trousers only. Since i did not see it i didn't pack any. The hotel did not let me in the dinning room although i booked the all inclusive package. At the first night the hotel manager took us to some other restaurant in the hotel which i had to wait 40 mins to get a table and the dinner took another 90 which wasn't in our plans. The manager said that if I want to avoid the same incident the day after then i should get long trousers, so i ended up buying a pair which also consumed time and of course money. Also begging to have some dinner arrangement and being turned down at the dinning room entrance was pretty humiliating. The shower is open therefore after each shower the floor is flooded.

Review 30:Everything was really nice and well designed for the guest's leisure.

Review 31:The facility has a very nice view, the food was delicious, the personnel were friendly and hard working. Especially the receptionist ladies (Ann-Cathrine and others) and the barmen at pool bar ( I can not remember his name...) and the welcoming ladies&guys in dininghole were very friendly.

Review 32:It's a five star hotel, but the rooms need to be renovated because they do not look so. There is no wifi available in the room and it only partially works in the lobby.

Review 33:The location is a huge plus, next to the beach. The lobby and garden are really nice as well.

Review 34:The wifi was terrible. Staff at the buffet was overworked, more staff would be needed for busier season.

Review 35:Great bar staff. Amazing pools. Cleanliness was impressive. Close to the airport and accessible by bus. A short drive or bus ride away from the old town. Plenty of parking around.

Review 36:All inclusive drinks option ends at 2330 only downside.

Review 37:Food and pool outstanding. We stayed in a deluxe room which was beautiful, all inclusive drinks options was fantastic.

Review 38:THE SHORT OF ITI’m sorry to say that this hotel would do itself a favour by decreasing it’s rating to four stars. My expectations of this five star hotel were much higher than what was delivered, both service wise and the quality of the facilities. We stayed for two weeks.IN DEPTHService:The staff lacks the finesse of a finer hotel, they try but don’t quite manage. This applies to most services of the hotel. For instance you are seated at a table by the restaurant staff for breakfast every morning, you can go off and choose what you wan’t to eat for yourself, but a waiter must serve you hot beverages. Almost every morning we had to wait a long time for tea and coffee, and they always forgot the milk.We ordered room service one night, (just a cup of tea) after about fourty minutes we started to wonder where our tea had gone. Just then the phone rang and they explained the kitchen was closed and they could not deliver the tea. Five minutes later the phone rang once again and one of the staff said “You ordered tea?” I said “Yes, but the kitchen was closed…” Staff - “Yes, but we’ll make an exception for you today.” I replied “Ok, thank you.”About twenty minutes later there was a knock on the door and our tea was finally delivered. The only thing was that they had poured the hot water beforehand and carried it through the entire hotel to get to our room. This resulted in a cold cup of tea and a saucer full to the brim with spilled water, in which the teabag and sugar were taking a swim.We heard that a lot of the hotels are understaffed due to the bad economy, and that the remaining staff is overworked to make up for it. Even so I think that’s a really bad excuse for a luxury hotel and I expect the quite high price to both give good service and fair working conditions for the staff. The room:The room was on overall good, however quite a lot of the interior was a bit worn around the edges.

Review 39:The public areas of the hotel are very nice, the pool area, pool bar, lounge and reception. The hotel beach is one of the best-kept beaches in the area. The hotel offers a car rental through a service partner with a small shop in the lobby. The cars are vaery cheap compared to many other rental companies and the cars and service was very good. There is a small fridge in the room (Deluxe Double Room with Sea View) for you to use as yo see fit. Jacuzzi in the room (Deluxe Double Room with Sea View). Several supermarkets in the vicinity of the hotel (not just small tourist shops). There is one Carrefour Express and one Nannou (larger), there are also a couple of larger Carrefours if you are willing to travel a couple of kilometers down the road. Note that larger stores are closed on Sundays.

Review 40:The bed was saging not comfortable. WiFi very slow. Food in the main dining room was so so.

Review 41:We were upgraded to a suite very nice with private pool. nice hotel right on the beach. The food in the restaurant was very good. I

Review 42:In the mornings when talking breakfast in the main building you could hear waiters talking inappropriately to each other in Greek just because they thought that nobody else spoke Greek as nearly everybody were foreigners.

Review 43:Our free room upgrade to a sea view suite.

Review 44:The staff acted like they didn't want to be there, they did not engage and looked straight through you when trying to get their attention in the restaurant. A shame the infrastructure and staff numbers are there. Just lack of training and maybe the wrong staff.

Review 45:Beautiful Hotel, nice location and very well maintained.

Review 46:This place is not recomended for greeks. They have old analog typetv's no greek programs on tv requires digital equipment

Review 47:Pool and surrounding area to the beach

Review 48:On arrival we were greeted with a glass of fresh orange and very attentive staff and our experience continued to be first class throughout the holiday......superb all the way

Review 49:For a 5 star hotel the only thing was missing is the facilities in the bathroom

Review 50:Nice location very polite personnel very clean and organized hotel

Review 51:Food was not cooked ! How can't you cook pancakes or fish ! Really disappointed about this "5 stars restaurant "

Review 52:pool, staff is here to help

Review 53:When you arrive and find a large hole in your room and don't get an apology its never a great start. Food wasn't what you'd expect for a 5 star hotel and overall quality of the hotel is poor.

Review 54:The pool is ok.

Review 55:Location is a bit strange at first. To walk from the bus stop to the hotel you walk trough an abandoned smelly street. Also the hotel staff could have been nicer. They give the feeling to be somewhat alienated from their guests, they don't really make you feel welcome the way you sometimes experience in other hotels of the same class. As a small point, I'd like the pool to be open later at night. It is only open until 7pm.

Review 56:The hotel has a beautiful interior design to give that feeling of luxury especially around the bars. Very well equipped rooms. Some even have a bathtub on the balcony! Also the private garden and beach are nice. Food is quite ok and if you take the full option you are in for a treat.

Review 57:Personal attention. Every wish taken care of by the friendly capable staff. Beautiful facilities and well maintained. Felt very welcome and safe. Upon arrival we were given an upgraded room with private pool and a stunning view of the Aegean Sea. I had a chance to look at other Hotels in the area and none compare to the Ixian Grand. All others had poor beach access with you having to cross a major road by a dark tunnel under the highway and were not nearly as attractive. No doubt if ever visiting Rhodes again, we'll stay here again. This hotel is pretty much by itself and has it's own private beach. Others are not as quiet and seem much more congested. The grounds are well maintained and the facilities are bright and airy. Couldn't be happier. A perfect place for a wonderful vacation.

Review 58:The furnitures in the rooms were very old. Because of the frowziness in the room I had to leave the balcony door open during the nights but as my room was on the ground floor it was too noisy around.

Review 59:-no wifi in the room in a 5 star hotel ? -the personnel is not at a 5 star level, should be more polite, more Professional... -there is not enough chairs at the swiming pool and clients leave their beach towels since the morning to keep it all day long, so when you arrive at 14h its full of towels, chairs are empty and it's impossible to find a place.. -location is nice on the beachfront, but around the hotel, it's dirty.

Review 60:-bedroom is big, and confortable -breakfast was nice and complete

Review 61:The staff can improve children's playground, maintenance of swimming pools, bathrooms ...

Review 62:if you are looking for a quiet place, clean sea, beautiful beaches and a pleasant place to relax and swim, that's it. The complex is beautifully landscaped, although the hotel was full, there was enough space around the pool, on the beach in bars ... except where we waited a bit in the main restaurant for table. The food was good selected.

Review 63:The cards you had to use for all inclusive, would be much easier to use a wrist band than having to sign after every drink. No entertainment really so a little too quiet at night.

Review 64:Chilled holiday which was close to Rhodes Town. Pleasant staff.

Review 65:not really 5 star, a bit old now, service definitely not a 5 star service (more like 3 star). Not perfectly clean, need to improve housekeeping.

Review 66:Room was quite nice (stayed in room with private pool) The food in restaurants was amazing, really enjoyed. Comfy beds.

Review 67:Wifi is really bad, that was the only negative point.

Review 68:Our room was very nice, the room was renovated and completely new and modern style with a flatscreen a big bed and a bath with bubbles. The food was also of good quality for an all-inclusive hotel. Breakfast was from 07:00 till 10:00 and included everything from hot till cold food . The lunch was from 12:30 till 15:00 and again it was really extensive. Dinner was served from 18:30 till 22:00 and was also very extensive. Once a week dinner was served outside at the pool with a BBQ and live music. Once a week the theme of the dinner was Chinese and Japanese. Every dinner consisted out of Greek dishes and a saladbar and fruit and fries and soup and a pasta and many different desserts. There are 2 a la carte restaurants in which during your stay you can have dinner for free one time. It was a seven course high class dinner which was delicious. You can drinks everything you want when all-in. Different cocktails and mixdrinks. The pool was lovely and not crowded at all. The hotel has enough sunbeds for everybody with sunshades. It has a its private beach which is immediately outside the hotel. You get beachtowels everyday for free. The location is perfect it is 10 minutes driving to Rhodes town. The hotel has almost no children as guests. Which makes it very peacefull. No noises. Rooms were cleaned everyday. The staff is very social and polite, helps with everything. Taxi can be ordered and is there within 3 minutes. You can drink till 23:30 for free after that you have to pay for your drinks. It has a fitnesscentre and it has a beautiful spa included. Everyday there are given lessons in the morning pilates and yoga by a professional and all other kind of lessons. There is a huge choice in massages at the spa, they are expensive but worth it. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and family and to you. We had an amazing time and our money was well spend. The hotel is very luxurious and modern and comfortable.

Review 69:Wifi totally useless. I complained about this fact but the problem wasn't fixed. Sometimes it worked at three a.m. but barely and for a short period (2-3 minutes). Staff personnel supposed that the problem was my iPhone 5 but my iPad and my wife's iPhone 4 didn't manage to connect as well. Further, I saw many guests complaining about the same issue.

Review 70:Everything was perfect except wifi.

Review 71:-Food is nowhere near 5 star standard. -bed side light and bath tub in our room was broken and wasn't fixed even after reporting. -The hotel has a car hire service provider called Marathon. The lady who rented us the car in the beginning told us that if we overfill the petrol in the car the refund for the extra petrol will be provided and when we asked for the refund she was extremely rude and said she didn't say that! It was a awful experience and when we reported to the reception about what happened the staff just shrugged and said that they cant do anything about it and its our responsibility to read and get explanations clearly. Ofcourse we should have but what are we supposed to do if the salesperson lies and refuses flat out that she ever said it while selling! probably as long as hotel is getting its commission they don't care. Would not recommend.

Review 72:Beach is very good.

Review 73:Internet is terrible,I couldn't use internet in 1 week, couldn't do my business.... No animation.,no fun..... Restaurant doesn't have enough staff so you should wait a lot to order something.

Review 74:Very very friendly and helpfull staffs.espeically georgis barmen.

Review 75:- A awful room! Pictures don't correspond to reality at all.The standard room is old and really shabby. It doesn't correspond to the norms of a 5* hotel, it is more a 3* hotel room that urgently requires a reconstruction. - The view of the room was a noisy road instead (even of in a special request I demanded a calm room). - Maitre of the restaurant is a really rude person. It's unacceptable to talk to guests the way his does. - In order to have a sun chair, you have to come back early in the morning and leave a beach towel because everyone does so, otherwise you will simply have no sun chair... A really odd and barbarian behaviour! To sum it up, I was deeply disappointed by this accommodation, luckily we spent there only 3 nights.

Review 76:- Beach - All inclusive concept

Review 77:dishes and the drinking Glasses Not Always Clean in the Main restaurant !

Review 78:Paradise <3 Really Beautiful Relaxing place with excellent Staff ... Food .. Service ... House keeping ... clean .. Recommended !!

Review 79:We asked for three hours late check out and that was not possible.is the first time in all the five stars hotels that we stayed in suite and it was so difficult for them.dissapointing.we booked a suite with private swimming pool and all the rooms are having a small plastic thing to cover your balkonies.everyone can swim with you.the balkony had empty bottles from last customers.it doesnt worth the money.also we asked two soft drinks at the restaurant, and we get Them without bubbles.no thanks.not approved

Review 80:Close to the sea and comfortable.helpfull lady on suites reception,on our arrival.

Review 81:The room service was spot on and wifi was good in the Room also very clean and good value for money

Review 82:Very helpful and super nice staff. Lovely location with a view to the sea. Excellent place for total relaxation.

Review 83:Give for me fee lux room.

Review 84:Pool. Relaxed atmosphere. Staff.

Review 85:Best price vs value!

Review 86:Everything!!! The room, the pool, the food, the restaurant, the staff, the bathroom! The people there smiling all the time:)

Review 87:Staff, wifi, gym, food

Review 88:Location, swimming pool, price

Review 89:Wifi

Review 90:no decent wifi reception

Review 91:The location

Review 92:The Ixian Grand was the perfect relaxing holiday. All the staff were very friendly and the accommodation was great.

Review 93:Very bad service. For example Breakfast below standard for five star hotel. Gym was a mess. Three star would be better?

Review 94:The deluxe sea view room is superb! Staff is nice and helpful, Definitely coming back!

Review 95:you need to extend the time of closing the bar to at least to 2am. Romm service has to be 24hrs for 5star hotel

Review 96:WI-FI

Review 97:wifi poor

Review 98:pool and beach

Review 99:Very nice

Review 100:No wifi in the rooms

Review 101:Service was great

Review 102:Food was not so good, no fish or just frozen one with no taste.

Review 103:Deluxe room with jacuzzi is big spacious, nice view on the sea.

Review 104:To dark in The rom. Too noice in 156.

Review 105:Everything nice. Food very good. Personal very nice.

Review 106:Alexandros & Susanna very ambitious, professional and friendly

Review 107:it's hard to swim in very windy beach and cold water

Review 108:The quiet atmosphere Excellent food Wonderful staff The pool and surrounding garden Superb hotel I recommend

Review 109:there's no TV channels in english, internet connection lousy.

Review 110:Appartments with private pool are great. Food is varied and tasty.

Review 111:WiFi is very slow and works bad everywhere. Bathroom has a Jacuzzi with no shower curtain so after a shower whole bathroom is covered with water

Review 112:Grand suite with a private pool was ammazing, beach and pool area is perfect!

Review 113:No facilities for baby's. No channels in English on TV (just news channels)

Review 114:Beautiful Hotel. Big and clean pool. The rooms are clean and everything is new. the view from the pool area is amazing. good food. Great service. We stayed 7 nights with a 1 year old baby and really enjoyed our vacation .

Review 115:The best accomodation I HAVE EVER HAD. I really cant find a default .Everything was perfect. The location, the staff, the food , the cleanliness and comfort. I wish all hotels ih Greece would be like this.

Review 116:The staff was not all greek (a lot of foreingers) but I think this is same in every five star hotel on the Mediterranean Sea.

Review 117:The hotel area and service of the staff were perfect during our stay. Beach was close to the pool area. Good WiFi service on lobby/WiFi area. Buffet restaurant had a various selection of different foods. We also tool all inclusive for the last two nights (40€/night/person) which included lunch, dinner and selection of drinks.

Review 118:Area hotel was located in was rather run down and schetchy. Had to call almost everyday for things forgotten with room service,ie: missing towles, beach towels, creamora, etc.Had to have our room changed as out suite had pigeons and their droppings all over the patio, patio furniture, and pool to the point that we could not use the pool or terrace that we paid for. Once our suite was changed, it was no longer a problem.

Review 119:Close to the airport and short drive to new town and old town Rodos.

Review 120:Location feels like outskirts when you arrive. Dinner doesn't have a la cart option in some restaurants

Review 121:Location right on the beach, breakfast with simple but fulfilling any need options, cosy

Review 122:The hotel needs renovation, the room was dirty, towels were old and the pools were not clean.Would not recomend to anybody to go there.

Review 123:The hotel is on the beach although too far away from the city.

Review 124:-No complimentary water bottles in our room on daily basis (available only once - upon arrival). -Not a single one Greek TV channel (hello we are in Greece). -Our key card failed once and we had to wait for 30min outside our suite until they fix it. -No Slippers (in all 5 star hotels these are complementary) -A pile of bed linen and an empty bottle of champagne it was our every morning sight outside our suite. -No fitness-center. -Week WIFI signal. Overall we had a great time!

Review 125:+Very comfy bed (3 COCO-MAT bed-mattresses) +Early check-in / Late check-out +Big empty fridge (get your water from any local supermarket) +Kind and pleasant staff at least most of them (especially the girl responsible for reservations and Violeta from breakfast). +Superb air con in the room +Beautiful surrounding areas +Great location (you can walk to the beach, 5min to Old town by car) +Elegant buffet breakfast exclusive for suites' guests (avoid the main restaurant) +Big private pool in our suite

Review 126:Wifi connection on internet is horrible!! I dont know why they dont make better connection. Its make me crazy. No fitness, lot of screaming childrens

Review 127:There are nice gardens, suites with own swimming pools are very comfortable. Late check out, they give me room 12am to 19pm for free !!

Review 128:1) quite far away from best beaches on the isle 2) you have to pay if you want to drink a juice at breakfast (it doesn't absolutely match the expectancies for a 5* hotel all suites) 3) fornitures need to be changed (they don't fit to represent a suite in a 5* hotel) 4) there is no shuttle to/from the airport

Review 129:1) breakfast except for the "a la carte" choice that force you to pay for having an orange juice or an omelette 2) room was quite clean 3) our private veranda to watch the stars before sleeping

The Fine Print

Please note that the restaurant's dress code requires gentlemen to wear long trousers and fully covered shoes at dinner.
