Reviews for Benson House Box
Review 1:Parking a bit of a issue if arriving later in the evening.
Review 2:The little touches of Christmas as it was that time of year. Attention to detail. Proximity to bus route for trips to bath.
Review 3:Not at all
Review 4:Everything was amazing, clean, comfortable. All the details were amazing. Table games, toothpaste, toys for children. Incredible. I have been in a lot of places all around the world. This is in the top 5
Review 5:The flat was well furnished and had everything we needed. The parking facilities opposite were really convenient and the location off the main street was quiet. We had no trouble at all with getting the key as the system used allowed us to get there any time we wanted.
Review 6:Everything was perfect - even the weather behaved!
Review 7:Fantastic apt! Ideally situated for visiting Bath. Liza (the Manager) was so accommodating & nothing was too much trouble.
Review 8:There is no staff, you get the keys from the security box at entrance. We arrived at evening and room was cold as central heather were switched off. Would have been at least considerable to leave the temperature control set up at 20° to welcome the guests. Find free parking in the street could be difficult sometimes
Review 9:300£ for 2 nights Clean and well equipped
Review 10:Although there were small tourist attractions in bath centre the more family based attractions we wanted to visit were a bit of a journey away.
Review 11:The apartment was of a very high quality providing comfort and plenty of space for a family of 6. It is situated on a lovely Street and parking was not a problem. It had all amenities you might need within a close distance.
Review 12:Box, is lovely little village, a pub and shop were just around the corner. If you couldn't park outside there was a car park right opposite. Box is ideal for travelling the local area
Review 13:Dryer was not working but staff responded immediately. My daughter used the sofa bed in the living room. It was hard in the middle but soft on the sides. Not very comfortable.
Review 14:Other facilities are good
Review 15:There are a lot of steps to reach Apt. 2. Once you're inside, there are more steps between each room. I also couldn't get the fireplace to work.
Review 16:This is a great place to recouporate after being on the road. I appreciated the washer and dryer. I had the most RELAXING bubble bath and sleep. I enjoyed looking out at the nice neighbourhood while eating at the dining table.
Review 17:Great location in a picturesque little village with convenient access by car to Bath (just 15 minutes into town) and a well appointed modern apartment.
Review 18:From the get go it was a perfect first experience to the Somerset area. Liza contacted us immediately to ensure we had everything squared away before our arrival and she even went to the apartment ahead of time to turn on the heat before our arrival. She really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The apartment is well kept and we felt right at home, so much so that we walked to the local Co-op both nights we were there and made dinner at the apartment instead of going to the local pub. We spent our days in Bath which made the apartment location ideal as you're only 15 minutes away, but not paying Bath prices for lodging.
Review 19:Parking was a real issue for us but we had been warned. there was no space in the car park so we squeezed in-between cars on the road but then lost the space when we popped out for a take away!
Review 20:Spotlessly clean and very modern accommodation. We only stayed one night which seemed pretty expensive but i suspect the rate for e.g. a week may be better. Would definitely consider returning for a longer stay with our labrador but would be concerned about your carpets and dirt etc.
Review 21:Large rooms with a big, well equipped kitchen, excellent wifi and close to a friendly pub as well as the local co-op. Short drive into Bath. Really friendly caretaker who went out of her way to make sure we were looked after.
Review 22:Grotty pub nearest House. When we arrived the toilet was not flushing and no hot water. Phone call to owner and it was all sorted out very quickly but perhaps should have been checked before we arrived.
Review 23:Very clean and comfortable. Good facilities. Great Pub Restaurant within a mile walk, although a little expensive. Good shops and excellent butcher a couple of doors down. Would stay again.
Review 24:The bathroom/toilet of the apartment located directly about our bedroom was unusually noisy during late evening/night and we think there was a kitchen above the other bedroom which was also very noisy when the washing machine or dishwasher was in use.
Review 25:Spacious, modern decor of the appartment
Review 26:Nothing for me. Probably in high season a bit difficult to find parking?
Review 27:Spacy, Clean rooms. You can get foods / drinks co-op store just 3min work;)
Review 28:It would be great to have access to a BBQ although I understand that the back garden is not secure and may pose problems with theft, but it would have been great to enjoy a BBQ in the sunny summer weather!
Review 29:Loved the village and the location of the property - walking distance to supermarket, pubs and a couple of restaurants. The property itself was also excellent and it seemed to be quite recently renovated to an excellent standard. Very happy all round with our stay.
Review 30:Booked only for 3 nights, longer would have been great, but so much time and so little to see.
Review 31:Quiet picturesque village. Supermarket and parking nearby available. Drive down Market street and turn right and Benson Box is on your right hand. Beautifully decorated. Can highly recommend Benson Box!
Review 32:Box is beautiful. Picture perfect village and the apartment was perfect with a great pub up the road and only 15 mins to bath.
Review 33:Nothing
Review 34:Everything. The house was extremely nice and comfortable. We missed absolutely nothing
Review 35:Absolutely lovely apartment, will definitely be staying again. Nice to be in a little village out side of Bath. Will definitely recommend.
Review 36:Really comfortable apartment , well equipped throughout - will be happy to return ! Very helpful local rep, instant response to any requests .
Review 37:Really clean with great decor and amenities
Review 38:Clean and well equipped
Review 39:Location
Review 40:Smelt a bit of damp.
Review 41:Lovely village, friendly locals and handy locations.
Review 42:Amazing modern , clean and equipped apartment Large size beds Close to Bath
Review 43:Parking available but could be tricky at certain times... No problem if you arrive late
Review 44:Easy reach to Bath
Review 45:Sofa bed was not fit to sleep on. Could Have resulted in an excellent rating if the sofa bed was usable.
Review 46:The well-equipped kitchen and bathroom
Review 47:No bad experiences
Review 48:Lots of space for 6 people. Close to amenities, short drive to Bath. Apartment had everything we needed.
Review 49:Pub could be better!!
Review 50:Handy for Bath, clean, spacious and good parking...
Review 51:Spaceous flat, well equipt and a great playground close by.
Review 52:Bathroom.Too small for a 2 bdr. apt. Dining table too remote from kitchen.
Review 53:General comfort and size.
Review 54:Poor sound-proofing between the flat and that upstairs means you hear every move the neighbours make
Review 55:Size of rooms and quality of furnishings
Review 56:Nothing to dislike.
Review 57:Excellent base to explore Bath and surrounds. Spacious and so much more comfortable than a hotel. Loved it!
Review 58:nothing
Review 59:very clean . Had 3 generations there and suitable for all. Very well equipped kitchen and shop close by. Very comfy beds, lovely shower
Review 60:Very little parking available - there is a car park opposite, but it was full, and spaces were very confined. We left our bedroom window open so we could hear when a car moved, I then went out and moved my car into a space.
Review 61:Clean and modern. Beds were very comfortable. Clean towels and plenty of them.
Review 62:Location is in a quintessential rural English village called Box! Apartment 1 is quiet, very comfortably furnished and all in good condition, good heating, WiFi works well, good little kitchen, butcher 20 metres up the road, co-op grocer with the lot just 2 minutes walk away & two pubs in the town. Parking a bit of a gamble but it was a long weekend. Highly recommend this one, and excellent value compared with elsewhere we have stayed on this trip.
Review 63:A bit difficult to access - no public transport, not really sufficient car parking places in the area.
Review 64:Self-contained apartment. Cosy and good facilities. Feel like home.
Review 65:Some difficulties finding parking space despite a large parking lot just opposite the house.
Review 66:Nice and private apartment with excellent facilities, fast internet, clean and cozy.
Review 67:We think that the T.V. in the living room should come lower than where it is right now.
Review 68:We liked that the internet was very good, and the kitchen had every thing we needed. Comfortable.
Review 69:Breathless from the time you walk through the front doors, staff were very attentive and directions were explained clearly. Can't explain in a few words what a great experience it was to stay at the Benson House. Would definitely recommend it anyone.
Review 70:Only a small point, but unfortunately the gas fire wasn't working when we visited.
Review 71:Great location, short walk to pub with good food, and also short walk to the local co-op for supplies. Very helpful owner. Our upstairs apartment was very spacious.
Review 72:Noise from the flat above did take away the enjoyment. Also the shower was more a trickle than a shower!
Review 73:The friendly welcome and the organisation for arrivals made the stay realxing from the start. The flat was very clean, comfortable, spatious and everything worked.
Review 74:No DVD player. We brought some DVDs with us but could not use them. We downloaded films to our ipad but could not connect it to the TV - disappointed. No enough comfortable sitting for 4 adults in front of the TV. Thinking another chair would be useful. I need a decent cup of coffee in the morning - Real coffee and a cafetiere is how I know I am in a luxury rental. Benson House had neither. The flat above was also rented out, causing the floor boards creaked a lot above the bedroom.
Review 75:The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Location was great. The owner - Suzanna was very friendly and helpful. A lovely person to deal with.
Review 76:Thankyou to Suzanne for an extremely pleasant stay. The apartment was luxurious, clean and well appointed. Box is a pretty and delightful village and only 6 miles from Bath, making it a more restful and quiet stay. Apartment is ideal for 4 adults or 2 adults + children. Beds were extremely comfortable and bathroom supplies of good quality toiletries appreciated. Washer and dryer came in handy too. Suzanne was a pleasure to meet, friendly and helpful, and we easily felt we could have sat down for a chat over a few drinks! We would highly recommend apartments and would definitely return.
Review 77:It is a shame the A4 passes right through the middle of this pretty village, although it made access to Bath easier. The traffic in and around Bath is horrific! We only had a very short break, not sure where nearest big supermarket if for longer stays, but the Coop in the village was very small!
Review 78:Our family of 4 had a two night stay in this very comfortable 2 bed appartment. Spotlessly clean and well presented. It is situated about 4 miles East of Bath, so a good spot to go back to and an ideal location for discovering the area, Lacock, Stonehenge etc. Box itself is a pretty village with pubs and shops, and best of all - two fabulous cafes - the Little Box cafe in particular, for good breakfasts and coffee to start the day. Nice courtyard area at the rear of the property to sit out etc. There are some pleasant walks around the village, very pretty countryside.
Review 79:Parking - we managed to get a space and left the car there and walked or got taxi's, but it was difficult and the road and car park opposite was generally full up.
Review 80:Excellent accommodation and facilities.
Review 81:Suggest a new photo of outside of accommodation, as looks nothing like the actual accommodation when you get there. Everything excellent
Review 82:Excellent accommodation as was location. Communication with proprietress excellent. Nothing was too difficult
Review 83:The accommodations were great - lots of space, tastefully decorated, comfortable beds and linens. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in the apartment, it really helped us. We thought the town was lovely and it was a great location close to Bath. The owner was very helpful with information about the area and everything we needed in the apartment.
Review 84:Benson House was our favorite accommodation of the seven places we stayed at in total during our vacation! Suzanne, the property manager was extremely helpful via email, and arrived with milk and juice to welcome us upon our arrival. The apartment was private and immaculate and had all the comforts of home - 3 large TV's, internet access in all areas, washer and dryer, loads of laundry/cleaning/bathroom supplies, great towels, comfortable beds, modern bathroom etc, etc. Box was an ideal location for us as it is a charming small town but with easy access to Bath, Stonehenge and Salisbury as well as many other lesser known - but just as interesting - locations to visit. We LOVED our stay at Benson House and wished we could have stayed longer then our 4 nights. Highly recommended!
Review 85:Impossible to create total darkness in the room. Sunlight pours in the room from sunrise onward.
Review 86:Great location, 4 mins from Bath city center. Box village is absolutely lovely and full of friendly people. The appartment delivers on premiss:clea, modern and comfortable, with everything you need to accomodate 4 peoplefor a dream stay.
Review 87:We were there during a heat wave and the bedding supplied was rather heavy duvets. On arriving back from Bath a little too full of Champagne, none of us could open our bedroom windows and baked under our duvets! Would have been nice to have alternative, lighter bedding.
Review 88:Lovely location next to a cute cafe with a lovely garden. Very easy to get into Bath centre. Nice interior and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 89:There is really nothing we did'nt like
Review 90:We stayed at Benson house with our 2 young daughters and our parents.Suzanne welcomed us with a smile and showed us around. She is reallyamazing, she gave us tips for visiting Bath and even let us park our carat her house when we drove to Batheaston. The apartment is verycomfortable and spotlessly clean, with an equipped kitchen and there isalso a very nice patio for the kids to play outside safely. Theapartment design is very modern and looks exactly like the pictures onthe website. We enjoyed our stay at the Benson house very much and wewill definitely recommend to others to stay there as it is much betterthan a hotel room.
Review 91:Nothing.
Review 92:Spotlessly clean, modern and all the facilities you require. Extremely Comfortable beds, warm and cosy. Manager was extremely helpful as we're lost and when we arrived late there was a bottle of Australian wine to greet us. Can you believe it!
Review 93:Settees were very uncomfortable Would prefer curtains rather than wooden style blinds (personal taste) Excellent televisions but very poor reception(maybe due to position in a valley) Found the village to be uninspiring with poor facilities especially the pubs
Review 94:The staff were very help-full Facilities were good. Kitchen and bathrooms very modern Excellent cleanliness Quiet position Beds were very comfortable and bedding excellent Would recommend a chopping board and place mats to protect surfaces
Review 95:We decided to stay here with our two children, rather than sharing an hotel room. Which would have cost similar. It was the best decision. The apartment was beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean. Plenty of room for 4 of us and all the luxuries of an hotel. We would definitely stay again.
Review 96:Nothing at all
Review 97:There are all the facilities you need Very clean Box is a nice little village Suzanne is a great help, giving you advice when you need it
Review 98:Lack of info re parking
Review 99:Loads of towels, well equipped kitchen. Well organised booking procedure. Managed well.
Review 100:The room was comfy and free car park
Review 101:Suzanne the manager. Near bus route to bath. Beautiful village. Beautiful surrounding area. Well equipped apartment.
Review 102:Nice, well equiped flat located in small village, a short drive from Bath. Clean and well kept.
Review 103:Everything
Review 104:We had 6 people in our group but here were only 4 chairs for the table. Tv in one of the bedrooms got only BBC stations.
Review 105:Well equipped and good value.
Review 106:Great central location in Box. Large and contemporary fit out at very reasonable price.
Review 107:Parking in the village was difficult, but we found a space eventually
Review 108:Having two bedrooms with a lovely living room, and the quiet location
Review 109:The Benson House apartments were very spacious and a lovely design. Box is a great little town to stay in just outside Bath.
Review 110:Reasonable price most comportable much kind
