Reviews for Basingstoke Lodge

Review 1:Staff not very accomodating, wouldnt make breakfast any earlier than normal and had to be persuaded to leave me out a bowl of cereal for which i got charged £5. Customer services 1/10

Review 2:Good location,easy found,good parking,spacious and warm

Review 3:Everything. Nigel was as accommodating as he possibly could be butclearly needs to get additional staff in to help. My stay was on aparticularly cold night and I was disappointed that I was not able toturn on the radiator as the thermostat was not set for the rads. At £100a night, the guest should have the option as to whether they would liketo have the heater on.The towels could have done with a touch of conditioner/softener as they were as stiff as cardboard. The breakfast at £10 is nothing short of daylight robbery. The quality of the ingredients used was POOR at best. The bacon looked as if it was cooked in the microwave, 1 button mushroom was comical, no beans which my tomato had to be sacrificed for; toast or bread of any sort did not come as a standard with the breakfast. The fresh juice offered tasted like it was carton juice which I would be surprised if more than 70p was paid for the carton. There was a huge delay in getting my breakfast as Nigel was both the cook and checking out staff. The iron and iron board was pointless being offered. No flat surfaces to rest the ironing board on, so I ended up using the armrest of the chair in my room to prop the ironing board across. If there is one thing I will take away from my stay here is that I would never knock eating breakfast in my local Weatherspoon's EVER AGAIN.

Review 4:The fact I was only staying for the one night. Any longer than that andI would have had to give serious consideration to sleeping in the carfor the extra days..

Review 5:the TV kept freezing and the Internet kept dropping (not reliable at all) I paid £175 for 2 nights (should of gone to the travel lodge down the road which would of cost half the price) breakfast (which I thought was included at the price I paid but wasn't) cost £10 and was of poor quantity - I should of gone to the harvester up the road for half the price

Review 6:High cost and not value for money. No on-suite and had to walk down a corridor to bathroom which was on top of communial stairs. Room not cleaned and bins left not empted.

Review 7:staff friendly and wifi

Review 8:The added charge for breakfast

Review 9:Lovely welcome when I arrived late at night and properly the most comfy bed I've slept in would of loved to have tried breakfast to see if it was quailty like the rest of the hotel

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Stayed for three nights due to error with large chain losing my booking. This was a much more personal experience with rooms being on a par with the larger chains. If you don't mind being a couple of miles from the town centre then give it a try.

Review 12:May be standard for basingstoke but i think the price was a bit steep (also as breakfast - although we didnt have it, wasnt included)

Review 13:Easy to find Large room with comfortable furnishings Very helpful owner - i was travelling by myself with a 20mth old - more than happy to let me use the dining room after my son was put to bed, and gave me a wine glass instead of having to drink my wine from a mug!

Review 14:No evening meal served, although the Indian restaurant nearby is very good. The curtains let through a lot of light, so an east facing room in late May is quite bright from about 5.00 am.

Review 15:In pleasant residential area.

Review 16:Towels were hard and need to be washed with fabric softener.

Review 17:Lots of power points for laptops, phone charges etc.

Review 18:The room was cold and took a long time to warm up. There was a strange smell permeating the whole house which wasn't very nice.

Review 19:We liked everything

Review 20:We liked the friendly welcome and service we were greeted with during the whole stay.

Review 21:Owner met our needs

Review 22:Just one bad thing to say was I was very cold in the night

Review 23:Facilities and staff were fantastic

Review 24:nothing

Review 25:was just what we wanted

Review 26:road outside was very noisy with loud music from cars

Review 27:having a bus stop very close to go into town

Review 28:Shower was extremely powerful at any level, including modifying shower head - actually painful to use. I found the shower cubicle itself quite small therefore difficult to rotate and kept knocking into the large shampoo holder.

Review 29:Good staff, location is good with parking out on front, bed and pillows comfy, clean overall, quiet, room key opens main entrance so can go in and out as you please at any time. Couldn't fault anything but the shower (in part - it did work and gave hot water at least).

Review 30:The stains on the carpet in the bedroom The grey grubby towels in thebathroom The smell of the entire room, it smelt as if someone hadbeen smoking in the room. Well over priced at £95 it was worth nomore than £50.

Review 31:Easy location to rail station. Host pleasent with a good welcome.

Review 32:You could tell that they are still learning how to run the business.

Review 33:Relatively new.

Review 34:I found nothing to fault my visit.

Review 37:Lovely warm welcme comfortable room and bed, good location and grewt breafast.

Review 38:downstairs room has no soundproofing and it was easy to be disturbed

Review 39:Clean, pleasant room and facilities with friendly atmosphere

Review 40:Everything
