Reviews for Citotel Hôtel Du Midi
Review 1:Overpriced for what it was, very small basic room, nowhere to make a coffee, shower very dark with shower curtain, could do with a makeover. Couldn't book in till 4pm on a Sunday. Was at least 10 mins walk to old town centre. Didn't have breakfast or use hotel car parking as we felt €9 for each was too expensive
Review 2:Reception staff friendly & helpful. Our room was at the back of the building, no view but quiet. clean, comfortable bed, free carparking on the street if you were lucky to find a park,
Review 3:Relatively close to the 'old' town area Hotel sent us a friend in a car, when we couldn't get a taxi Good Information Centre in town
Review 4:We asked the Front Desk to Call us a taxi. The lady at Front Desk said 10 minutes and a car showed up. No Taxi logo, no meter. We arrived at train station and he said 15 Euros. We explained that same trip from Station to Hotel had been 8 Euros, he insisted on 15. That lady as far as we are concerned didn't call a real taxi. No wifi on room, only Lobby. Hotel closes on Sunday between 12 and 4 pm
Review 5:Location
Review 6:A very quietly located hotel with no traffic or train station noise but convenient for both the station and centre of town. The receptionist was both welcoming and helpful.
Review 7:Rooms a bit too hot to sleep well. It was an extremely hot day: 34C when we arrived. Not obvious how to control a/c and reception unmanned by the time we were back from dinner so nobody to ask. Breakfast a bit weak - 9€ a head including children for basically coffee and croissants.
Review 8:Handy for Narbonne town centre (5 min walk). Very friendly welcome (from the owner?) who had tried to contact us in the afternoon to make sure we were arriving before reception closed. He recommended a couple of places for dinner on a Sunday evening - the brasserie we tried was excellent. Secure garage welcome as it meant we didn't have to unpack the car for a 1 night stop over.
Review 9:room a bit small for 3 people
Review 10:safe storage for bikes, location close to historic centre, staff with very good English providing information needed, clean and quiet, nice bathroom, air condition,
Review 11:Expensive for what it is but that may be simply the lack of hotels close to centre drives up the price. Bathroom is tiny.
Review 12:Good location close enough to both the centre and the train station. Clean room. Served the purpose for an overnight.
Review 13:We had 2 rooms one updated the other run down and both smelt of stale air, all the shutters were closed and this didn't help the stale atmosphere
Review 14:The hotel is a convenient stop over for those driving further South
Review 15:Very small shower. Location further from centre than the name suggested. My problem- didn't associate name with the canal.
Review 16:Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Review 17:The staff where extremely friendly and help full. The area was so central to the main shopping area and fantastic restruants are all less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. Suggest car rental if you have young children as all the beaches and children's activities are on the outskirts of the town. Narbonne is a beauty full historic city. The owner of the hotel arranged a room swap after two days as my mum had access issues to the washroom. The second room was perfect.
Review 18:1. Rude manager.2. Locked out at night. Manager did not tell us that 'they change the security code' every Monday. As if we would know! 3.Bathroom light on a timer, so that you are in the dark in the shower! BUT the light stays on in the middle of the night. If you need more reasons, there are more...
Review 19:Good location
Review 20:The manager is arrogant and somewhat petty. We arrived back at the hotel 12 minutes after closing time one evening and the entry code had been changed without informing us. After finally telephoning to get access to our room for the night we were treated very rudely as if it was our fault!
Review 21:Historical sites nearby
Review 22:We arrived too early and our room was not ready and we were given the choice from other rooms, which was very good of the manager. Room was always fresh and fragrant when we returned in the evening. We were able to leave our suitcases at the hotel on the last day, for us to collect before leaving Narbonne. Breakfast bar always fresh.
Review 23:Honesty of staff, my son forgot his iPad in the room and only realized when we got to Toulouse. We quickly called and asked if we left it there. We got a call back 10 mins later and luckily they found it. My son hopped onto the next train to narbonne and went to fetch it. Thank you to the staff for being so honest and for a wonderful experience. The rooms were also very clean and comfortable.
Review 24:The pillows and bed needed updating plus though the bathroom has been renovated, there was not enough legroom to sit on the toilet comfortably . !!!!! ( interesting concept for 6'1" father and son the same size).
Review 25:Location and staff helpfulness
Review 26:The room was very spacious and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is very close to the historical centre of the town. We loved everything about our stay!
Review 27:Breakfast was superb - well laid out, and an exceptional range on offer. The owners/managers were vey friendly and helpful, as were the other stafff. Thelocation was a pleasant stroll from the centre of the town. We ate at a restaurant recommended by the management - En Face - and had a pleasant meal.
Review 28:Good spot, nice and close to the town and easy to walk to dinner and sights. Parking was available in the garage for a fee and free outside on the street. The staff was most helpful. Our room was clean and modern and there was no noise from outside. A nice quiet spot.
Review 29:Nothing
Review 30:Good location 10 min walk into town.Pleasant staff. We had a room overlooking busy street but it was very quiet.Secure garage €8.A good clean hotel in a very central location.Would reccomend.
Review 31:Good central location not far from the canal. Excellent value. Comfortable rooms which have obviously had a recent makeover. Although our room was on the street side, triple glazing and air conditioning meant that it was very quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Free garage for our bikes (cars would be charged for)
Review 32:The staff was very helpful when our luggage didn't arrive for two days because Air France didn't put it on our flight to Toulouse, France. Air France said it would arrive the next day, it didn't. A staff member made multiple phone calls to track down our luggage and pressure the airlines to deliver it. She also called her personal physician and got me an immediate appointment with him to get prescriptions for drugs that were in my luggage. My daughter and I had adjoining rooms with a bathroom in-between. I had another bathroom with a large tub. The room was air conditioned and roomy. The staff recommended restaurants. The hotel was close to tourists sights. We walked every where in town.
Review 33:Property is in need of a makeover

Review 46:Convenience, size and proximity of rooms and comfort of beds.
Review 47:Very friendly staff, clean, nice rooms. Location is a little out of the main part of town and perhaps off-putting but good access to highways etc.

Review 52:Front desk arranged for a dinner reservation!
Review 53:nothing was a problem, the suite was perfect for the 5 of us - first time we all had our own beds, clean and quiet. nice walk to the centre.
Review 54:Bathroom was TEENY.Breakfast rather basic.
Review 55:Safe parking and recommendation to wonderful restaurant around the corner!
Review 56:Bathroom very small. Room not very clean. Had to wipe off the door to bathroom.
Review 57:Breakfast was good
Review 58:Clean, tidy . Pleasantly bright, reasonable size room. Located about 5-10 min walk from centre
Review 59:Wifi wouldn't work very well for us.
Review 60:That we could all stay in the one room but separate bedrooms.
Review 61:The staff is not very friendly. Food is not allowed in the room.
Review 62:Everything
Review 63:The shower head was slightly high for us being short people.
Review 64:Everything but especially the staff, very nice and helpful.
Review 65:Bathroom very cramped Breakfast overpriced
Review 66:Staff very friendly
Review 67:Crummy breakfast. Processed cheese? Is this France?
Review 68:Very friendly and accommodating service.
Review 69:Welcoming and helpful staff. Efficient and competent service. Good facilities.
Review 70:Comfortable room, very clean and friendly staff all added up to an enjoyable stay.
Review 71:Breakfats ridicoulous for 9€! Room very small. Bathroom small. Air conditioning not working
Review 72:Great location , Jean Patrick and his staff could not have been more helpful and accomadating
Review 73:Close to the railway
Review 74:We were happy with everything.
Review 75:Everything was great, the owners very friendly.
Review 76:- Some reception personnel are excellent with a cheerful and friendly smile , but not all of them . - Breakfast in most hotels is included on the price .
Review 77:Stayed just for one night , so hard to jusge but generally : - Very good situation ( In the middle between historical town center and train station , which makes you close to the two ) - Very good reception personnel generally with multiple communication languages : English , French , Arabic . - Excellent noise isolation system with double windows . - Leggage reserve service in case you want to check out but still around in the city .
Review 78:Hotel 'disguised' by scaffolding, hard to find and park, small room with shuttered and barred window, only breakfast available, no nearby restaurants.
Review 79:Breakfast
Review 80:The shower was a bit small but that didn't affect our overall impression which was good.
Review 81:The room had everything you could need as a budget traveler and the man at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very clean.
Review 82:Very helpful and welcoming staff/proprietors. Excellent advice and information on local attractions and restaurants. Secure parking at very reasonable cost. Throughly recommend
Review 83:- Room was modern and spacious enough. - We could park for free in fron of the hotel. - Value for money is very good. - Reception closes at 20.30h, but they provide you with the code to access the room later than that.
Review 84:It is situated not very close to the center. It was hard to find the hotel tonight.
Review 85:- Very nice and comfortable room; - Very helpful staff; - Good breakfast.
Review 86:Nothing at all
Review 87:Great location, friendly and helpful staff, close to city area and local supermarket Great breakfast, giving us ice in a glass at the end of the day was no trouble Loved the little dog Stored our luggage after we checked out
Review 88:Too far from city center, walking at night was a little nervous making, we thought it would be closer to the train station
Review 89:Helpful staff, quiet on courtyard side, good breakfast, easy access to transportation
Review 90:The shower cubicle was dark & small.
Review 91:The reception staff were wonderful, speaking excelent English they were able to guide us around the city and recommend 2 great restaurants. Also very understanding when we over-slept on our last morning. Buffet breakfast was good value.
Review 92:There could at least be a kettle with coffee / tea / sugar / milk available in the room for the price paid. The plastic glasses in bathroom / room did not complement the hotel.
Review 93:Friendliness of staff. Excellent advice for areas to visit and restaurants to eat. Offered us a bigger room when ours was not ready in time.
Review 94:Bed was very hard but very clean
Review 95:The fantastic service by the staff who went out of their way to help us. The service was far better and a lot more helpful than some 4 star hotels.
Review 96:As the hotel is on a major highway through the City, the traffic noise was intense.
Review 97:We could walk to this hotel from the train station. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Review 98:No reason to complain.
Review 99:Room was simple but ok, at least for one night we spent there. We enjoyed friendly welcome. Old town centre is within a walking distance, so is the railway station.
Review 100:Breakfast was not good. We had to ask for things that had run out and there was no sign telling people the coffee machine wsnt working. Diners had to tell each other and then use a small kettle to make drinks.
Review 101:Quiet, good air condtioning and wifi
Review 102:I was surprised with the quality as they are only rated two stars. We requested the hotel to arrange transport form Narbonne station at 23h00 and everything worked out perfectly. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance from all the tourist attractions as well as the Le Boat base where we started our barging trip.
Review 103:Had difficulty in obtaining hand towels. Only supplied with (small) bath towel. Shower area a bit on the small side.
Review 104:Location good. Only a ten minute walk to where the restaurants are. Hotel has a lift, handy for mature travellers. Being able to park in the hotel garage, as on-street parking was not easy.
Review 105:Lots of works going on to pavements by the canal. It should look a lot better when works are finished.
Review 106:The hotel location was good and Narbonne is a pleasnt place to stroll around. On the night we were there the music festival was on so it made for a pleasant evening.
Review 107:Taxis were pricey (high minimum), considering we used them for two short hops.
Review 108:We wanted a reasonably-priced hotel near train station and very close to LeBoat charter base. This place filled the bill. Good restaurants, very good shopping (local market open Saturday morning was perfect for equipping the boat). Friday night was the summer solstice music fest, so the town was jumping. Breakfast was more complete than most we encountered in two weeks.
Review 109:Was tricky to locate but once there, it was an easy walk to the downtown core.
Review 110:The on site in door secure parking was great. Very recent upgrades to the bathroom were well done.
Review 111:The main issue with this hotel was the location; it was a 5- 10 min walking distance to the canal and centre where restaurants were located. The immediate surrounding streets had very limited choice (e.g. bars, takeaway and pizza).
Review 112:The room although small had high ceilings and was very clean. Also the room was well sound-proofed with no noise issues even though the room was overlooking a busy street. There was private onsite garage parking (at a cost) that was useful. Overall it provided good value taking account of the cost.
Review 113:just nothing very special.and poor attitude to dogs! who are totally well behaved.Having ticked the box on your web site saying pet friendly this was not !
Review 114:Breakfast was expensive given the quality which was mediocre for all ingredients e.g processed cheese in plastic wrap. Everything for convenience rather than taste!! Room was cramped. TV screen too small
Review 115:Location was OK although still not in a very attractive part of the city
