Reviews for Lorne House Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:Taxi to Bath and back adds £50 a night but based on equivalent rooms in town still worked out good value for an overnight stay

Review 2:No fuss very clean and well appointed rooms, excellent on suite.

Review 3:The beds and pillows were terribly uncomfortable. We both sleptdreadfully, and had sore backs for our entire stay. There was only oneglass for water in the room- and no water. The quality of the breakfastwas appalling. Everything tasteless. Owner/manager was rudeshouting to her cleaner loudly so I could hear in the bedroom upstairsfrom the breakfast room that 'no, the girl is still there! Noshe's still there' about my sister still having breakfast (at9.15 am). Then as my sister hurried to leave she yelled 'she'sleaving now, yes now' as my sister passed her on the stairs.Hilarious it was so rude.

Review 4:Understandably check in is quite late. You will be welcomed if owners are in before stated time though - so not a major criticism, but good to know..

Review 5:All the basics were right, plus extra touches that lift it right up. Room, furnishings, bed, bathroom all good quality. The service was welcoming, authentic, helpful and not intrusive.

Review 6:Nothing

Review 7:Really comfortable accommodation in a convenient location. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice which was helpful as my daughter is vegetarian. Would definitely recommend.

Review 8:Only downside is that there is very limited parking behind the B&B, but there is a GP surgery which you can park in at the weekend.

Review 9:Lovely owners - very friendly. Great rooms with fab facilities & all the mod cons. Comfy bed. Yummy breakfast & even catered for vegetarians like me!

Review 10:Clean room in a quaint village. Great hosts who offered friendly advice about where to eat. Excellent cooked breakfast. Parking was a bit tight, but manageable.

Review 11:A bit far from Bath and tricky to find

Review 12:The house was beautifully decorated. Fran is a British Martha Stewart! Breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed walking around the garden. We would have loved to stay another day

Review 13:Such a lovely village and a beautiful house. Elegantly decorated and furbished. Perfectly maintained. Very comfortable bed and big fluffy towels. I have very enjoyed the breakfast selection of fresh fruits as well as delicious scrambled eggs and bacon. What a very pleasant stay!

Review 14:Room was downstairs so didn't have much natural light...but i'm really clutching at straws here...it was a great place

Review 15:Hospitality. The owners were so charming and I had to get up early twice and they had someone there to make me a great breakfast...thank you!

Review 16:Staff aloud us to check in late. Fran was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Bed was comfy and the bath room done to hi-spec.

Review 17:Busy location - difficult to get out of drive at peak times.

Review 18:The owners were very friendly. Comfortable and clean room. Excellent breakfast. Good WiFi reception.

Review 19:Nicely located in Box which is of short driving distance to Bath. Comfortable stay, with nice view of the scenic countryside, particularly on the top floor room.

Review 20:although far enough out of Bath the fact that if you wanted to go to a restaurant (4miles) they know how to charge for taxis £15 each way .

Review 21:Just far enough out of Bath . Loved the fact that although it had its English quirkiness it also had modern touches. Wifi and proper coffee/tea in each room. I would stay here again

Review 22:Location on the main A4. We were at the front of the building and had to have the windows closed because of the traffic noise. Also we arrived to check in at 3.30pm when check in time actually started at 4pm. Whilst we were allowed to check in at that time it was made quite clear that we should have read the booking conditions. Not a very warm welcome. Also had to pay 2% surcharge for paying by credit card - I don't expect that in this type of business!

Review 23:The room was lovely and beautifully presented. Breakfast was good with lots of choice.

Review 24:Nothing.

Review 25:We were made very welcome by our host who offered sound advice on local dining and sites to see. Our room was very comfortable for three and the ensuite layout and facilities were as good as we could hope for. Breakfast also met our needs and parking was very convenient. A short distance from Bath it was very accessible to the city.

Review 26:Hosts given us a lot of advice regarding the places to eat, the discounts in Bath and best parking location, good choice of fruits and cereals for breakfast

Review 27:A perfect B&B in every way. Great location, great local pubs for food (do try the Northey Arms), great facilities, a lovely old-fashioned room but all mod-cons that comes with a really nice wet-room and really helpful staff. There is nothing to dislike. The breakfast was fantastic too with a really nice setting, great choice and attentive service. I'll definitely be back.

Review 28:Being told when you turned up it's for one person only not two!!. Makes we worried about next time or my next trip 7 days in different hotels in Germany?.?

Review 29:Helpful flexible nice Big bedroom nice view Everything you needed in the room and a book of everything you may need or did need answered for you

Review 30:Visited Bath for our 2nd wedding anniversary, b&b was lovely, only approx 1mins from Bath so ideal location. We were in the top room & the views were lovely, nice & peaceful & relaxing. Breakfast was cooked to order & was very good, the owners & 1 lady staff member were all lovely & happy. Marmalade at breakfast was delicious. Room was very warm, bit too warm but better than being cold, we just opened the window! World recommend & stay again

Review 31:Not really a negative but worth knowing for anyone who really needs it: wifi is a bit iffy in basement room, although fine elsewhere. (It was no problem for us for one night and in any case we were offered that room as I had asked for a quiet one and this was deemed the quietest so that's fair enough.) Again not really a negative but worth knowing: the car park, very welcome though it is considering the property's roadside setting, is not large so could be a bit tricky if lots of guests at busy times.

Review 32:Everything pretty much. Beautifully decorated room which was very large. Super shower room. Nice breakfast. Convenient location. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Friendly owners.

Review 33:Being in one of the basement rooms, was noisy from about 6.30am due to staff in the kitchen and office directly above us.

Review 34:Great room, with a huge comfortable bed. Room was spotless, bathroom impeccable and breakfast perfect!

Review 35:Location was good - it's near to bath and Corsham. Room was really nice with great on suite / wet room. Breakfast was also a highlight with good Full English on offer.

Review 36:Nothing!

Review 38:The owners were brilliant with us. Recommended a lovely restaurant, the northey, to eat at. The family room was really comfortable and the kids had their own beds too. The breakfast was plentiful and very well presented. All in all, I'd really recommend Lorne House.

Review 39:We liked the friendliness of the owners and the helpful information that they gave us relating to our journey to Bath. Our room was lovely and light with quiet and excellent facilities. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and a good cooked breakfast.

Review 40:Lorne house is a stunning period property, with gorgeous rooms and luxurious bathrooms. The hosts were very hospitable. The story and character of Thomas the tank engine was created in this very house. Absolutely enjoyed our short stay.

Review 42:Absolutely stunning accommodation. First time in a B&B and honestly would recommend it to anyone. The owners were very friendly and informative as we were looking to see some local area. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and a match for any hotel we've stayed in anywhere. Breakfast was beautiful as well with a large selection to choose from. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area,
