Reviews for Hôtel La Résidence
Review 1:Room noisy. WC closet separate from bathroom. Takes very long time to have hot water. Mattress wrapped in plastic is noisy and uncomfortable.
Review 2:Excellent location at center of town, friendly staff, nice old house
Review 3:little bit distant from railway station, but can walk.
Review 4:near the center of the city hotel staffs were very friendly. rooms door was little bit old fashioned, but room was clean and nice to stay.
Review 5:Very charming hotel in a fantastic location. Staff were helpful and accommodating. We really enjoyed our experience here and would highly recommend it to travelers!
Review 6:Very old building and strange décor (black and white theme) but location was exceptional. Our friends walked the old town while we drove for 20 minutes and went for a walk on the beach of the Mediterranean Sea. There was room for our car in the garage. Bonus! The restaurant right behind the hotel needed reservations, but made room for us. One of our best meals in France. Exceptional staff.
Review 7:Even for France the coffee was dreadful and we were forced to eat breakfast out after two days. Everyone has good coffee at home these days and a 1970's jug of nasty coffee lets the breakfast experience down. There are great places for breakfast with outstanding coffee 5 mins away opposite the Hotel de Ville such as Le Petit Cafe or the Soleil Noir.
Review 8:Great building, rooms are comfortable and the WiFi was really good.
Review 9:There is free parking nearby but parking generally may be an issue.
Review 10:Excellent location in Narbonne within easy walking distance of the old city centre (5 mins) Good restaurants nearby and good breakfast. One of the few hotels in a months travelling that had tea and coffee in the room.
Review 11:Nothing.
Review 12:Charming small hotel in a quiet location, within walking distance of the railway station. We had a corner room with a small balcony (view on to the street) which was roomy and spotless. The bathroom was modern and functional with good toiletries.
Review 13:The location couldn't be better: It's a few-minute walk to the canal and old part of the city. Staff were very helpful in finding us a restaurant. The breakfast was very good value.
Review 14:Single room was very small. Lavatory quite cramped. Would be difficult to use for a tall or large person. Shutters opened only slightly. . That said traveling partners had a double room which was spacious and could fully open shutters. Advice to singles is to book a double room. Very limited parking (3 or so spaces) but public car park is within a short walk.
Review 15:Very pleasant staff and decent location. Does have mini bar with tonic stocked. Very clean. Eclectic, pleasing decor in room.
Review 16:That we couldn't stay longer!!!
Review 17:What a beautiful hotel! Lovely ornate rooms, modern bathroom, great service, within walking distance to everything. Couldn't fault it.
Review 18:The hotel was in a great location for us. Close to the train station but not too close. Close to downtown and the canal. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was comfortable and inviting.
Review 19:Ideal, very comfortable and affordable overnight location for meeting friends before starting our Canal barge trip. Close to station, markets and restaurants.
Review 20:I arrived late and the receptionist's advice for finding food was unfortunately limitied. May be I should have arrived half an hour earlier!
Review 21:The surprisingly close proximity to the local cathedral and old city centre. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff when I arrived late
Review 22:The bedroom was awful . The toilet door next to the bedhead. The washbasin at the diagonal opposite corner. For a superior room this must be one of the worst.
Review 23:Room was very noisy, could hear everything from the surrounding rooms. We were also near the front door and you could hear the chime every time someone entered or exited the premises.
Review 24:Conveniently located in the town. Breakfast was good. There was limited onsite parking available.
Review 25:Great little hotel in the centre of Narbonne. We stayed in a superior room which was modern and clean. Staff also really helpful. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment however were offered coffee and croissants upon our arrival, which was a nice touch.
Review 26:Excellent location for sightseeing. Very friendly staff. Rooms had good facilities- tea/ coffee unlike many French hotels. Very good buffet breakfast. May have to park in street on meter as limited hotel parking.
Review 27:Great location, just a 2 minute walk to the centre. Rooms were lovely and had all the facilities required, including limited parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 28:Nothing really. Bathroom a bit sparse perhaps
Review 29:Great location for the town. Very clean, pleasant room. Clean shower and toilet. Good selection in the mini bar and nice to see a kettle. Bed was a bit hard. Pillows nice and soft. Loved the shutters which let me sleep in a bit longer as the room was so dark. Helpful, friendly staff.
Review 30:Breakfast was very basic bread and jam! Maybe some pancakes, bacon , egg etc would be good
Review 31:Location and easy to book and secure parking. Room was a high standard with many restaurants and attractions on the doorstep
Review 32:The description mentioned an elevator, which is true, but some rooms are not accessible by elevator. If you have big luggage, make sure you get an accessible room.
Review 33:Helpful staff, quiet clean hotel in a good position within a short walk of the railway. An added bonus was the excellent restaurant immediately behind the hotel, one of six or seven recommended by reception
Review 34:Parking in the cellar. Very friendly reception. Very nice and clean rooms with a good bed and shower. WiFi. Excellent location for walking around town.
Review 35:Nothing to complain about.
Review 36:This is a quaint hotel located not far from the heart of Narbonne. It was originally an old house, which has been converted into a hotel so the layout is interesting. Our room (no. 25) had a partial view of the Cathedral, however, our daughter and niece in room 26 had the perfect view, especially at night when the cathedral was lit up and a full moon out. The staff were all friendly and spoke English, one lady is Welsh. The rooms are on the small side but as we were out and about all day the room size was not a concern. Breakfast was available at 12 euros but we did not use this facility so I can't comment there.
Review 37:Nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms and lovely breakfast. We only stayed a night before picking up a boat but would certainly recommend it.
Review 38:Parking can be problematical if you arrive by car
Review 39:Excellent location right in the old town centre. Everything was very effective and enjoyable without any fuss. Super breakfast.
Review 40:Even using their elevator, we still had to walk up a few steps with our luggage.
Review 41:The room was clean. They accepted our small dog. There was parking available.
Review 42:The walls are very thin.
Review 43:Nice quiet area close to the old town. within walking distance (10 Min) of station. The staff are obliging with help and information.
Review 44:Lack of toiletries, no information in room eg prices of minibar, TV controls etc. breakfast pretty average for price charged
Review 45:Decor, location close to historic centre of city and friendly staff
Review 46:The staff could have been a little more friendlier. Seemed a bit 'miffed' that we didn't want the 12 euro breakfast. There was hair in the shower too.
Review 47:The location and the room.
Review 48:Nothing
Review 49:Very helpfull advice re parking and resteraunts. Tea and coffee making facilities in room - which is not common in the French hotels we have stayed in previously.
Review 50:Problem with hot water in our room on arrival, but quickly sorted.
Review 51:Very pleasant reception, a good recommendation and help with réservation for dinner at the nearby Petit Comptoir.
Review 52:the friendliness of the owners, and their keenness to make our stay perfect. a lovely restaurant, with a fantastic waitress. great food, great service and friendly attentive staff
Review 53:For the price of 89 euros we expected much more. They wanted additional 12 euros per person for ordinary breakfast. Parking was also extra for the customer to fix and pay. No possibility to cancel and get your money back.
Review 54:Hotel looks a bit dated, although I must admit - clean. That's is if I try to be mean and find any fault))
Review 55:1. Perfect location - walking distance to the station and main square is virtually around the corner 2. Reasonably sized room and especially bathroom 3. Very good wi-fi included in the price
Review 56:Nothing!
Review 57:We only stayed one night as we were passing through but the hotel had a nice ambience and nicely decorated rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. When I was having difficulty connecting to the WiFi they offered the use of another computer to send am important email. I did manage to connect to the WiFi network later on and it worked well enough.
Review 58:The location is perfect. The charm and quality of the stylish interior adds to the pleasure of staying in such a beautiful traditional 19th c building. Execellent don't miss the opportunity to stay here
Review 59:The staff were excellent - friendly, helpful, always courteous and ready to assist us. The Hotel was handy to the square and the cathedral. We were so happy to have a parking spot. Thankyou.
Review 60:A little noisy in the early part of the morning; rooms not entirely noise-proof. Most intrusive sounds came from other hotel guests, rather than from outside the hotel.
Review 61:Very clean bedroom and bathroom. Staff were very helpful with directions and spoke English quite well. Hotel itself is not terribly far from the train station and very close to major tourist attractions, such as the Cathedrale St. Just and the under-rated Lapidary Museum.
Review 62:I took the free wifi option as I just wanted to send and receive emails. None of my emails would send, and I wasted a lot of time trying. This is totally unacceptable in this day and age.
Review 63:Interesting and safe part of town. Walking distance to train station. Tea and coffee making in the room. Fridge in the room. Window opens wide for fresh air. Comfortable bed and good bathroom with good quality bars of soap. Luggage storage during the day.
Review 64:The entrance to the hotel is just off the station square, and initially involves going up a flight of stairs to reception. You get the passcode for the elevator from the ground floor after you check in.
Review 65:We had a large clean double room overlooking the square. The breakfast buffet was good. Good, free wifi. The entrance to the underground public car park is opposite the hotel entrance; the elevator from the car park comes up just around the corner. The hotel's guests can get a discount voucher from reception when checking out, which reduces the daily rate from 15 to 8 euros.
Review 66:nothing
Review 67:The black/white décor is so French! Sitting rooms delightful after a busy travel day. Ask for room 16...you will be really glad you did! Wonderful, romantic restaurant just around the corner.
Review 68:Can't think of a thing bad - will certainly stay at La Residence if we travel to Narbonne again.
Review 69:The hotel is a gracious building located near the very attractive centre of Narbonne. We had not visited either the hotel or the city before and found both very good. Because we are boat people (Australians) we found the canal setting of the City also fascinating. The staff restaurant recommendation was also highly successful.
Review 70:Handy location and quite easy to get to by car - using sat nav. It is not on main thoroughfare so was quite peaceful but only 5 minute walk to downtown. At weekend the onstreet parking is free with secure public parking less than 10min walk away.
Review 71:Not much to dislike,in fact I cannot think of anything that I would have changed!
Review 72:We liked the position of the Hotel, very convenient for the centre of the old town. The staff and facilities were just what we ordered!
Review 73:Booked a double room was given the keys to it only to find it already occupied were given another but a twin. At least they offered us a free breakfast or bottle of wine
Review 74:Location
Review 75:The only fault I can find with the hotel is that I would have appreciated having the option of freshly made coffee at breakfast with the option of espresso cappuccino etc rather than one pot that had been sitting there for ages. Also more choice of tea bags in the room would have been good and the beds in the twin room had plastic? Mattress covers that were noisy when we moved.
Review 76:Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful before and during our stay. They responded promptly to my emails before our stay when I was trying to ensure our two rooms were located near to each other and after we had checked out they let us use the toilet facilities and store our luggage for several hours as we were taking an overnight train very late. The decor in the rooms was great and the air conditioning worked well.
Review 77:The wash basin was semi-blocked.
Review 78:The central location. Friendliness of staff. Comfort. The shower, The breakfast. Very good restaurant around the corner.
Review 79:Nothing really, Parking in the city might be tricky. We managed to booka garage space in the hotel at 9 Euros per night.
Review 80:Helpful staff, Very comfortable room, Centrally located, short stroll tofood and drink!.
Review 81:Most beautiful hotel, very clean and staff very friendly, they gave us all the information on whats happening in the area and what to see. Rooms and reception area are decorated beatifully. Close to all attractions. Highly recommend, we will be back for a longer stay
Review 82:The parking was very difficult to get into, and to find.
Review 83:This hotel did supply me with gluten free breakfast - requested at time of booking. Convenient location.

Review 94:So very pleasant , quiet and small hotel very close to centre
Review 95:location, breakfast was not included but variety and quality of the food made it worth the extra cost. A very comfortable environment.
Review 96:Bed a little hard, walls were thin and you could hear all of neighbors' activity
Review 97:Beautifully decorated, location excellent
Review 98:Building acoustics seriously impacted on sleep quality. Chipped paintwork. Cramped buffet bar for breakfast.
