Reviews for Highland Moors

Review 1:Outside there was a light that stayed on quite light and this lit up the room for most of the night. The walls are not very thick and we were kept awake by the next room's television and general conversation.

Review 2:Nothing about the accommodation. A real shame some people staying with dogs, didn't clean up in the garden after them. WE did.

Review 3:A really friendly welcome, good size room, clean, comfortable, would definitely stay again.

Review 4:Just near the outskirts of town, tranquil with lots of parking space. Not obsessed with front door security so easy to come and go. Llandrindod is a secure place. Wen loved it all.

Review 5:None

Review 6:I needed help with my mobile phone. Despite being extremely busy with three young children and a dog, the owners went out of their way to help me, very successfully. Also, it was nice to see the daughter being taught to serve the guests.

Review 7:Nothing to dislike about a stay

Review 8:Love the original features in every room have stayed many times and would happily recommend. A lovely couple with staff to match makes such a difference when you are greeted with a smiling face as you are at Highland Moors.

Review 9:Temperature of basin water not very hot in the evenings.

Review 10:Room size, views and relatively quiet location.. Ample parking and buses within 5 minutes walk.

Review 11:The views were amazing. The place was clean and comfortable. The ensuite was large and new with a walk-in shower. The breakfast was very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Review 12:There was no-one present to meet me when I arrived and I had to carry my bags up three flights of stairs to my room.

Review 13:It is a comfortable old place with a bit of atmosphere. The staff, once located, were friendly and helpful.

Review 14:We stayed after completing day 1 of the Welsh 2 day Enduro. My main reason was so that I could have a bath, a comfy bed and a thorough breakfast ready to start day two of the motor bike event refreshed and personally refuelled. Sadly there was no hot water. The bed was very comfey, so thank you. But there was no staff to sort breakfast and the host was very stressed running between kitchen and guests. I couldn't personally wait as the event started sometime after 7am,I can't remember the exact time, sorry. So I thought I'd have something from the continental selection, but there were no pastries or cake of any kind!! Quite a disaster. So I paid a lot of money for two of us to have a bed for the night! However I didn't/couldn't complain as our host was out in the kitchen and I had to be away early. There were other guests doing the same event who all said breakfast was a jolly disaster.

Review 15:The bed was very comfortable.

Review 16:They phoned around to find us a venue to shoot the morning after our arrival. Very welcoming, friendly, relaxed and informal. Great way of connecting you to local activities.

Review 17:Was. Everything to like nothing not too like ? Lovely community of special people making the most of whatever they choose to do ?

Review 18:Relaxed Atmosphere .beautiful country town many things to do if you make the time to do so.

Review 19:Friendly hosts and a lovely home. Shame we only had one night to stay. We can't wait to come back and see more of the renovations and spend more time there

Review 20:We had breakfast included but only I had it and I had nothing cooked just toast so would have liked to have been offered more than one slice.

Review 21:Friendly staff comfortable and easy.

Review 22:Nothing 'bad' exactly. It was a little cold in our room & the Wi-Fi was intermittent.

Review 23:Beautiful view Very friendly & helpful staff. Lovely breakfast Spacious room Modern ensuite

Review 24:Hotel a little dated and adjoining room had little sound-proofing due to (locked) door connecting two rooms. private bathrom was not ensuite but I knew about this in advance and it wasn't a problem just a short walk along the corridor.

Review 25:Felt comfortable and safe, despite being a lone female. Everyone welcoming and friendly. Room and bed comfortable and dinner and breakfast excellent.

Review 26:A quick one-night stay, very well looked after by Sue - too rainy to try their playground and zip wire outside, but the kids loved the pool table and games room. Enormous bedroom. Loved it!

Review 27:Being such a large building it was hard to heat. It was very cold, windy weather for our stay. Once you got the rooms warmed up they were very cosy, but the dining room was a little cold and the lounge despite the roaring wood burner that they had going for us.

Review 28:The service couldn't be faulted.

Review 29:Individually cooked breakfast was lovely. When I asked for an extra blanket (it was a very cold Winter evening), I was given an eiderdown which kept me warm and snug.

Review 30:Bedroom furniture was a bit dated, but rooms were nicely decorated and clean. En suite shower room a little on the small size, but adequate. Would prefer white towels in the bathroom, but towels provided were ok.

Review 31:The staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Location lovely and quiet.

Review 32:We had a large room, which was quitet, the beds comfortable and we had one of the best sleeps that we've ever had in a B&B. The dogs slept in the van in the carpark which was well away from the road, and so we was happy to leave them. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 33:Wi-fi was inconsistent -came and went. Would have liked a lift as stairs were quite steep but we were clearly warned about that beforehand and, consequently, accommodated on first floor

Review 34:Friendliness of staff- nothing too much trouble. Pets allowed. Made very welcome Food was good and plentiful. Bedrooms soon warm when heating switched on. Liked decore in ensuite. Modern contrast to older styler hotel Had a lovely big room

Review 35:The first impression we had was not as good as it might have been because the entrance way ,via the porch was very bare and really didn't reflect the character of what we found inside the building . It didn't really look welcoming although we were given a very warm welcome by the owner .

Review 36:The real assets of Highland Moors are the owners -they are very helpful and friendly . The view from our room was lovely. The refurbished bathrooom was clean and of a good standard. The beds were comfortable .

Review 37:The host was extremely friendly and very hospitable. She even telephoned one of the local pubs for me to check that I could eat there as it was getting near to end of service. She had also provided in my room with the tea/coffee etc., special oat biscuits as I could not eat wheat. This was such a nice gesture and is not often thought of at other places where I've stayed, although I have provided the information beforehand.

Review 38:The Wi-Fi was fast with a very good signal. I had asked for this specifically when I booked as it is the most important thing to me in a room (Except perhaps the presence of a bed!) But having said that the room was large and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely ry to stay there again when I'm next in the area.

Review 39:breakfast made with poor ingredients.shabby public areas,no towels in room.outside areas unkempt.Generally it felt run down and old fashioned

Review 40:comfortable bed and quiet

Review 41:coffee, nice having 'proper' coffee. but very weak, needs the option of a bit stronger.

Review 42:wonderful breakfast, comfy beds lots of character, great parking. super staff

Review 43:Because we are both in our 70's we found the stairs difficult.

Review 44:Sue and Geoff and Adam were all helpful and very friendly. Most accommodating. Breakfasts just to our liking. Thank you to all. Good luck for your future endeavours. Hope the wedding went well. Carole and Audrey

Review 96:Leaving so soon. I wish I was still there.

Review 97:Everything about the place. The location; the look of the hotel and pleasant ambience of the place; the view, and the surrounding countryside. The friendly service of the staff who went out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. I was absolutely superb. If I could stay there all year round, I would.
