Reviews for Le Boutique Hotel Bordeaux

Review 1:Nothing! Maybe recommend booking a upgraded room with jacuzzi/freestanding bath they looked fab!

Review 2:Amazing welcome at a fabulous, stylish hotel during our Bordeaux wine trip. Loved - rooms and decor, complimentary blind tasting, breakfasts and appreciated the car parking discount!

Review 3:Very bright light in street outside our room was shining through very thin and inadequate curtains all night. This meant that half of the large bed was effectively unusable as the light was shining in my eyes! I mentioned to staff who seemed surprised but I would be astonished if this had not been a problem for everyone using the room.

Review 4:Great location, quirky furnishings and excellent, helpful staff.

Review 5:The very very small bedrooms 18 sq. meters. The fact there is no functioning Air conditioning, The fact that the bedroom was awash with Mosquitoes. The fact that when we went down for breakfast at 9 am - almost all had gone and did not get replaced.. The Wooden floors made the corridors and adjoining bedrooms noisy. My worst ever Hotel stay. There is an unjustified air of pretentiousness about the place. There was not enough space to hang our clothes - the room we had was only suitable for a brief overnight stay - we had a very uncomfortable 4 night stay.

Review 6:The Bed was very comfortable and the Walk in shower was great.

Review 7:I wish our room was a little bigger but that's a very small complaint.

Review 8:This staff was outstanding in every way. I've never been to a hotel with the staff was so attractive charming and look like they were enjoying their work.

Review 9:wifi not always working.. The shower continually flooded, had to have all the towels on the floor. Not just a little flood either but a hugh flood. Noise coming from somewhere behind the aircon.

Review 10:The front desk staff were lovely at all times. Very helpful and just very nice and polite to us.

Review 11:Very friendly staff who all spoke excellent English. Good central location. Parking in nearby Q-park convenient. We bought our parking in advance which was cheaper and worked really easily.

Review 12:Facilities really superb. Decor individual and nicely thought through All staff friendly and welcoming down to handwritten note in room from maid It was a pleasure to stay there

Review 13:Absolutely amazing place!! A historic building transformed with a lot of taste, to provide modern amendities yet preserving the character of the place. Can only highly recommend

Review 14:Breakfast should be included in price.

Review 15:Perfect staff, very nice building located in a perfect area to see around Bordeaux. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. Also nice wine bar and garden!

Review 16:Not sure about open shower, didn't like lay out of room, for example, TV at end of bed, felt this was potentially dangerous. TV should be on wall or secure in a corner. Instructions on satellite use should be included in info provided. More tea and water could also have been provided in the room.

Review 17:Location was very good as it was an easy walk to most of sights in Bordeaux

Review 18:Their service in bar/restaurant excellent and friendly, all their staff in office/reception were very helpful and efficient. Probably one of the most well run hotels we have visited during our travels.

Review 19:The bathroom was very impractical and difficult to use. The tub without any walls around it and no grippy mats made it super easy to fall (I nearly had a bad one) and it just sprayed water all over the place. Just having a light waterproof curtain around it would make it way easier to take a shower. We're not taking long romantic baths every day.

Review 20:Amazing location, awesome staff and beautifully appointed. Hermes bath stuff was awesome and I looked forward to breakfast every morning.

Review 21:Disappointed with breakfast on our first morning. It was served until 10.30 am and we arrived at 10.00. Everything was depleted and we were not offered tea/coffee, had to ask for everything. Day 2 and 3 better.

Review 22:Charming, really French hotel. Very comfortable and great location. Would definitely return if visiting Bordeaux again.

Review 23:I would highly recommend this hotel. Excellent location, staff were very friendly and helpful. Suggested a wonderful wine tour at a very reasonable price. the rooms are very spacious and the wine bar area and patio were lovely.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Staff are all brilliant - could not be more helpful or pleasant .Better than the majority of 5/6 star capital city hotels. Location is perfect and courtyard/breakfast wonderful.

Review 26:The full food menu wasn't served on Sunday and Monday, which was a shame for us as it looked great. It didn't matter though as they do serve good meat and cheese plates - and as it was very hot, we weren't very hungry anyway.

Review 27:Friendly and helpful staff - both at reception and in the bar/restaurant. Lovely, well designed rooms. Delightful courtyard wine bar.

Review 28:Alex the hotel manager was very hospitable and accommodating. Room was clean, comfortable and location is good. Welcome drinks topped off a good stay in Bordeaux.

Review 29:trick electronic bath which comes on almost at random

Review 30:Excellent location close to Bordeaux center Staff very helpful and wine bar excellent Very attractive and unusual setting in town houses

Review 31:I had a junior suite. The room was nice but I did not like the way the shower and bath are not visually enclosed from the rest of the room. Glad I was not sharing with anyone. Even my husband does not get to see me take a bath. Maybe good for honeymooners.

Review 32:The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. The winebar outdoor area very pretty. Wine tasting interesting.

Review 33:Many of the rooms have "open" shower or bath areas, which won't appeal to many. If it's important to you, ask for a room with a separate bathroom.

Review 34:Definitely a luxury stay. Great staff, lovely rooms, really nice breakfast. Very central and a real oasis of calm during a busy city break.

Review 35:Wifi didn't work well but everything else about the hotel was fabulous. Very special place. do the blind tasting with the sommelier they offer- so unique and fun!

Review 36:Fire escape blocked with large plant pot in dining area. Speed of service - 15 minutes after ordering and still no welcome drink. We did not feel that welcomed, and walked out. Staff did not know how to operate the TV. In the end I did it myself.

Review 37:Friendly staff, room facilities were good, but a bit cramped - nowhere to put travel bags.

Review 38:Not a big problem but the jacousi tub would turn on with the slightest touch of the keypad, sometimes even when left alone. Once the staff explained how to turn it off it was not a problem.

Review 39:Just about everything. Good location, quiet, very attentive staff.

Review 40:We loved our room. It was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The service at the hotel was excellent. We had forgotten to make a return reservation after doing a cycling trip in the area, and while Hotel Bordeaux could not accommodate us, they arranged a suitable reservation at a "same quality" hotel nearby. Excellent breakfast and wine near the lobby in the hotel. We would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

Review 41:Never could get our TV tuned into French Open, even with staff help. C'est Domage!

Review 42:Wonderful location for exploring the city. Could walk to old city, gardens, and to Sunday markets on the quay. Staff was really helpful.

Review 43:Nothing bad but wi-if was patchy and slow in the room: a small defect overall.

Review 44:Location, decoration of the building and the renovated space on the ground floor. Comfortable rooms.

Review 45:Nothing all good

Review 46:It was perfect for our 4 days in Bordeaux friendly helpful staff lovely room overlooking courtyard very clean and great wine bar . Excellent value for money highly recommend this property perfect position

Review 47:Nothing!

Review 48:We loved everything about the hotel, the location, the comfort, the nespresso machine in the room. The staff were amazing they couldnt do enoughfor us. In particular there was a lovely man on reception i cant remember his name but it started with the letters Tsh i think? He was so helpful and attentive. I cant fault anything about the hotel, we didnt avail of the free welcome glass of wine as we dont like wine and they insisted we had a coffee instead! Fab hotel!

Review 49:Standard rooms a little pokey, with insufficient storage for clothes and bathroom items if staying for a few nights. Some electrical challenges - e.g. maintaining wifi connection throughout stay and non-functional electrical sockets (nespresso machine did not work for 2 days until we figured the problem was with the socket). Breakfast expensive and not top quality. Not good discount with new parking provider.

Review 50:Perfect location; extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Review 51:The hospitality of the staff was very good. Extremely helpful and friendly. The boutique feel of the whole hotel through the little touches and decor / layout.

Review 52:the door to balcony was stuck hence i could not have any fresh air nor access balcony. The TV switched on incidently several times in the middle of the night, i had to pull the plug. No room change allowed, nor discount offered. I changed the next day though into a better room, however the light in the cupboard stayed on, as a result i had to take off the bulb myself to get a dark room

Review 53:location, old patrician house, large and comfortable bed

Review 54:Leaving!!!

Review 55:I have stayed at many hotels on city breaks within Europe but few have staff to compare with those at Le Boutique. From the initial warm greeting to the final check out the staff made this a superb experience. Always polite and helpful, a great source of local information and the complimentary birthday bubbly was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 56:Only a tiny tiny dislike (if you can call it that) Breakfast was decent but could have some more options.

Review 57:Great staff very welcoming and friendly, very nice rooms

Review 58:You have to login every time you want to connect to the Internet. Really necessary?

Review 59:The atmosphere of the wine room is very good (you can also take breakfast there). The staff is very helpful except the restaurant they offered.

Review 60:This hotel was amazing. I had the most beautiful room, it was slide walking distance to restaurants and sights. I was solo and staff made sure I was paid attention to.

Review 61:Only negative is no hot food on a Sunday or Monday evening, but with so many other places within easy stroll this was not an issue for us.

Review 62:Lovely place, perfect location, easy to find. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Review 63:The only thing was a lack of proper instructions for the spa bath, which seemed to come on of it's own accord! But this was not a big problem at all.

Review 64:Central location. The quirkiness of the building and the decoration. The wine bar area is lovely, and we had the Wine Tasting with a great young sommelier - not cheap but really worth it. Staff were young but very charming and professional. A Nespresso machine in the room was one of the reasons for booking - other hotels please note!

Review 65:The breakfast was poor value, there was no hot food as stated and when a small amount we asked to be cooked did arrive other guests were waiting to grab it. We had breakfast elsewhere after this.

Review 66:Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and very clean. Location is excellent for easy walking around the city.

Review 67:The facilities and the service aren't up to price we paid. I would say that the price should be lower 20%. The elevator is excruciating slow. There was a permanent bad smell in the bathroom. The breakfast doesn't work - because the space is to tortuous, the space for food is split and is not big enough, the food disappears in a moment and it takes a long time to be available, the staff, although charming and hard working, look like not knowing what to do - I waited more than five minutes for bread to be available again, there were no plates, nobody brought the coffee.

Review 68:A great location.

Review 69:Well named hotel in an excellent location, I expected a modern, comfortable small hotel and this is exactly what I had including a hot water bottle which I thought was great AND very good toiletries etc,All together a really good find and I do hope that I can get back there again!

Review 70:1- Price far too high. I would rate value to be 20% lower than what I paid. 2-Would be nice to avoid re-entering code and password every time when using wifi in room. Make it easier for guests please. 3- Wardrobe space definitely unsufficient for 2 persons

Review 71:Very qute, very nice hotel Almost excellent breakfast Location quite good Nice deco both room and specially restaurant Very warm and heplful staff

Review 72:Location-far 3km from train station breakfast not included wine tours arranged by hotel in a way that press clients for buy expensive wine

Review 73:Location-in old town and close to attractions internet excellent nice decor beautiful rooms helpful staf tea coffe amenieties first class

Review 74:Basic facilities, with one small and odd elevator. Staff not always knowledgeable.

Review 75:Staff tried to please. Nice but expensive breakfast. Location close to centre, but outside the walking area.

Review 76:- photos of rooms are deceiving - "cracking" floors in the room, makes a lot noise when one walks around in the room.

Review 77:- Concierge service and suggestions of restaurants. - Locations

Review 78:The breakfast was rather poor and they charged a lot for it --- best to take a walk down the street!

Review 79:We had a superior room for 2 nights one flight up. The room and the hotel were very "Modernistic," although it was developed in an early 19th century townhouse. The elevator was very small (because of historic preservation issues.) There is a really nice garden, and the hotel is located in the heart of the best district of Bordeaux, which is a city well worth seeing. Parking is about 2 blocks away in a very satisfactory underground garage. Staff was really nice & helpful.

Review 80:Wifi was sketchy and door to balcony in apartment was extremely difficult to lock. Sofa in living area not comfortable.

Review 81:Staff was extremely helpful and gave helped in booking a wonderful afternoon of winery visits and wine tasting in St. Emilion. Very spacious apartment with comfortable accommodation for 4 people.

Review 82:We loved our time at Le Boutique Hotel Bordeaux, we were sorry we could not stay a few extra days. The details in the room and the quality of it made the experience wonderful/ The staff were so friendly very helpful. We also did the wine tasting in the evening which was a great experience. Thanks for a great stay.

Review 83:Smell of mice on the landing - no other signs of them, though

Review 84:Staff Room & bathroom Andrea's wine tasting - she really knows her wine Location Breakfast

Review 85:The WiFi was OK, but could stand improvement.

Review 86:The staff was friendly, helpful and eager to please. The room and bathroom were good, the location was great and we really enjoyed the wine bar.

Review 87:Wifi password is valid for two days only, and you have to get a new password in two days. Not convenient for a three day stay. There were no plates at the breakfast on Friday and we had to wait for our plates for about 5 minutes. We did not expect to find our room being cleaned at 3.30 pm on the third day of our stay.

Review 88:The location of the hotel is really good, you are very close to everything in the center of Bordeaux. Our room was ready for our early arrival. We liked very much the design of the room. The bed was comfortable, and the bath in the center of the room was great. The old elevator was also a cute experience, but we managed to use it))

Review 89:The Mosquitos , Outlook of neighbors washing. Difficult to load & unload vehicle. The quality of breakfast offered was extremely poor, all processed goods, the cut breakfast fruit offered was inedible, not to mention the state of the breakfast room. We headed to Paul's just down the road after the first morning.

Review 90:Not much, bathrooms in bedrooms just don't work.

Review 91:People smoking in the garden should be at least discouraged - the smoke goes right into the window of the rooms facing the courtyard.

Review 92:Very pleasant hotel. Lovely wine bar and garden. The staff is very pleasant - helpful, nice, accommodating both for your need in hotel and in Bordeaux. The breakfast looked great, although we opted for the French croissant&coffee option in Bordeaux cafes. We switched to a ground-level room because the elevator was broken when we arrived. The room had a wonderful little private courtyard. However, it was at times quite loud in the evenings. The wine tastings looked absolutely wonderful - wish we could have had the time to enjoy the experience. Excellent location - short and pleasant walk to everything.

Review 93:The bathrooms could have been cleaner. There were stains on the walls near the toilet and the shower had a mouldy corner. We also had little black flies in the room (like fruit flies). When we arrived we spent the first 10 minutes trying to get rid of them.

Review 94:The location was excellent and the staff friendly. Our room was quiet. The hotel was quaint and unique. Thanks!

Review 95:Room was a little pricey and the actual room itself was a bit small. The terrace more than made up for the size of the room though.

Review 96:Really good wine bar that led to a very "Relaxing" night in the jacuzzi on the terrace.

Review 97:There was nothing we didn't like on our stay.

Review 98:The staff and the location of Le Boutique Hotel are what we valued the most on our stay. The facilities were also excellent.

Review 99:Everything about this hotel was perfect, from the rooms to the staff. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice and friendly staff. We had a room with a Jacuzzi and balcony - marvellous! Air con worked fine too. Location is great for strolling to the key sights of Bordeaux. A public parking garage is a stone's throw away if you have a car.

Review 100:Only downside was the parking - discounted parking in garage 2 blocks away. Tough to get in and out of.

Review 101:Great family apartment style accommodation. Bedrooms were nicely done and clean. Nice living room and kitchen area. Staff was great and made sure we had everything we needed.

Review 102:All the staff were very helpful, the facilities are all finished to high end specifications, clean and tidy in prime central location. Cannot fault it in any way. Will definitely recommend to family and friends. Have stayed in many many towns and cities around the world over the last 25 years of travelling and this hotel is now in my favourite top three.

Review 103:Slight compromises in small aspects of room design.

Review 104:Very welcoming staff Charming, eclectic decor Location is ideal for central Bordeaux being near attractions yet quiet and tucked away Breakfast excellent as were wines and antipasti Comfortable and well appointed room

Review 105:Staff were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Outstanding wine selection and knowledge from bar staff, room was beautiful and had its own jacuzzi/hot tub bath. Located centrally only a few minutes walk from the Grand Theatre. Highly recommended

Review 106:Moldy ceiling in bathroom No shower door! Very expensive breakfast (we didn't take it because of this - and saw fruits flies covering the croissants!)

Review 107:Very comfortable bed Stunning view of courtyard from room Staff was lovely and accommodating Hermes toiletries! Walking distance to everything Luxurious decor

Review 108:Door by our room used frequently so can waken, especially late in the evening & if you do not want an early start. Wine tasting good but the attention of our sommelier was not focussed as he was serving too many people separately at one time. Car parking can be a bit of a nuisance.

Review 109:Staff were very welcoming from our arrival and provided good help with restaurants, sights etc. Enjoyable wine tasting. Very fresh and tasty breakfast. Room very comfortable & décor worked well. All of the pieces fit well to provide an excellent whole experience.

Review 110:Brilliant staff who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Perfect location, spacious and modern rooms and a great place to relax as a base to your Bordeaux.

Review 111:This is not a 4 start hotel, 3 is a max Very small room, no space evenfor one suitcase on the floor, the only place for a suitcase of any sizeif the little desk. No space for personal things on the bed tablebecause it is turned into the holder of the cups, sugar and a coffeemaker. Guest sleep right next to the fridge... No door to the shower, soyou basically sleep in the show... Due to the room being so small ,which is a size of a big bathroom. Very loud street outside, very nosywith closed windows, not good for sleep at night.

Review 112:Great ambiance. Welcome glass of fizzy on arrival. Wine tasting with Martin was fun and informative. Great tapas to follow. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Planning to go back in the Autumn!

Review 113:Great small hotel within walking distance of sights and shopping in central Bordeaux. In a classic old building with all the comforts of a boutique hotel. Excellent breakfast in the courtyard that is a wine bar with tapas in the evening. Hermes amenities in the rooms.

Review 114:A lovely apartment for a family to stay in on the top floor. Very well equipped. Fantastic staff - so friendly and helpful. Wine bar is a great spot for a late night drink.

Review 115:Can't think of anything

Review 116:Lovely building in great location.Helpful and charming staff always trying their best to help .Nice arrangement with wine tasting and tapas in the evening

Review 117:The recommendation of the wine tour with bordo vino was a private tour however you only got to visit 2 wineries. Given the the timeframe it would of been nice to include another one or two wineries.

Review 118:The suites are amazing with big windows you can open and let the summer breeze in. The bath and shower are also amazing.

Review 119:it was all great

Review 120:The receptionist on arrival, extremely attentive and welcoming, the porter taking our bags to the room, the bar staff in the area below who were knowledgable about wine (we own a vineyard in Margaret River) and helpful

Review 121:Location/close from old city Staff - polite/great information/dedicated Decoration/style/patio Excellent breakfast Wine bar - very relaxing Great atmosphere

Review 122:Room was small

Review 123:Close to town-center Design hotel Partnership with local parking

Review 124:The wine bar is fine spot and the hotel staff impecable.

Review 125:Central location. Well trained friendly staff. An excellent blending of traditional & modern decor & facilities.

Review 126:Rooms were stylish & very clean Staff extremely attentive
