Reviews for Rodos Palace Hotel
Review 1:The staff coud not handle the volume of the customers. Inadeqaute staff. The check out time was over 30 min. The hotel is forgotten in the 80's decoration wise. It needs renovation desparately
Review 2:Location
Review 3:Have just returned from a 4 night stay at this wonderful hotel. It was a wonderful experience to stay at the hotel. The service was exceptionally good! The staff could not have been more efficient throughout the hotel. We particularly like the largish rooms that the hotel offers, and love the room on the higher floors (we stayed on 6th floor) with the amazing sea view and amazing sunset views. In my opinion paying the extra for a seaview was money well spent as although you don't spend much time in your room the view is spectacular when you wake and sitting on the balcony was blissful. The breakfast is fantastic and the place is beautiful. It is very relaxing with the nice beach at your doorstep. The leisure facilities are excellent and it is one of the main reasons why we booked this hotel, swimming pools are great, we used them several times - very clean, again with very helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return in the not too distant future!
Review 4:It would be better if they supply a kettle in the room.
Review 5:Clean hotel, friendly staff. Pools are good. Children playground Has a market inside of hotel
Review 6:One decent restaurant. Cold cooked breakfast. Other restaurants (2) catered solely for all inclusive meals. Being told to keep dirty pool towels for 2 days. No hand drying facilities in men's pool toilet. Having to call reception on 3 days because cleaners missed cleaning room.
Review 7:weather. Close to airport. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.
Review 8:Didn’t realise that "sea view” overlooked a very busy (and noisy) road as well as the beach. Staffing levels had obviously been cut back due to the economic crisis and this showed in slow service in a number of areas.
Review 9:In this day & age, free Wi Fi should be available everywhere in the complex and not just on the ground floor area. Most certainly should be available in your rooms.
Review 10:The many varied places to relax, have a drink or something to eat.
Review 11:My room was bio/executive (237) was a little bit tired torn wallpaper food splashes on walls. Hot Breakfast was very poor. Wifi only in lobby! Was just about to leave room to check out and a manager came in to check the minibar was untouched!.. Felt like a criminal
Review 12:Pool area was very nice and staff were pleasant!
Review 13:The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, the room needed more vacuuming, the entire room gives this impression of "too much used" "and never updated"
Review 14:The view from the balcony and the facilities.
Review 15:Nothing. Everything was just perfect.
Review 16:I have enjoyed my stay in Rodos Palace very much. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is located near the sea, so i had a wonderful view from my room.. I liked breakfast, a lot of choice.. and everything was very fresh;) I recommend this hotel for business trips and for vacation.
Review 17:I just returned from a wonderful stay at the lovely Rodos Palace. I must admit that I was really skeptical before I made my reservation to Rodos Palace. My hesitation was based on the negative reviews but I thought to myself why I don’t try this out. I must say that it was a wise decision at the end. The room was perfect. I booked an executive sea view room in the main building which was fad! It was a spacious room with the best sea view ever. The bathroom was big and the cleanliness of the room was immaculate and the comfort of the bed was just right. The members of the staff - were wonderful. They were always friendly and helpful. They took care of every request (dinner reservations, printing out reservations etc). I would most definitely stay here again - and I would definitely encourage any of my friends or family to stay here, too.
Review 18:Unable to access my own mobile internet in my room without having to pay for WIFI access Absence of dedicated hotel lounges & umbrellas for hotel guests on beach Not enough water pressure in shower
Review 19:Facilities and service overall very good Upgraded to a better room Late check out at no extra cost
Review 20:TV not working ask to fix it never did, cleanness level below average, rooms decor from 1980s ,balcony dirty, three days the didn't bother to change the sheets nor the towels, doors very old making noises with the wind from balcony, dayshift staff not helpful, no wifi just standard wire network to connect what? definetly not for 5 stars.. 3 to 4 maybe yes. and i had a vip room how the other was i wonder.. in summarise dirty and outdated below 4 star hotel .. the only good and new is the reception...
Review 21:Location, fair price not for the hotel quality but because of the summer, free parking
Review 22:Cleaning personnel did not always complte their daily tasks, executive wing is everything but executive, the hotel needs a doos renovation, price for executive wing was too high without any serious executive offerings.
Review 23:Good Location, with good sea view
Review 24:Nothing coming to mind
Review 25:Really great, friendly environment. Facilities were in great shape, lots of interesting things to do. Everything you can ask from a 5 star hotel.
Review 26:Huge hotel catering for package, resort type holidays. It is very busy and there are queues for everything. No free wi-fi and paid wi-fi only in public areas.
Review 27:Rooms are big
Review 28:Nobody says 'hello' No smiles from staff Smell in room, like it was conserved for a years Stoney beach No free wifi in 21 century:)
Review 29:Nothing to remember what i was liked. Just ordinary old big hotel. Only SPA center staff left good feelings..:) Outdoor restaurant.
Review 30:Poor wifi connection
Review 31:Amazing breakfast and pool
Review 32:Not clean. The taps had the wastes from many weeks.
Review 33:Very convenient location
Review 34:Nothing
Review 35:Everything
Review 36:No free wifi. Old furniture.
Review 37:A scent of old time.
Review 38:- worn out carpets with strange spots - aggressive German seniors - queues in front of lifts - horrible crowded breakfasts

Review 43:Furniture in the room is disintegrating Breakfast is below decent
Review 44:Location Design Reception [very very very professional!] View is simply breathtaking
Review 45:80'S chic hotel style… beach is not very nice…I believe 30 years agoit was the most luxurious place on the coast…
Review 46:Only the family room which is actually cheaper than suit in mainbuilding.
Review 47:Normally check in hours at 14:00 but I recive my room at 18:00 there is personal on reception desk very bad they dont hear i made r3servation for vip suit it should be much more quickly servise but forget it .when i was in the room there was 2 tv both of them not working i tried to call operqtor and reception they didnt answer my call 30 min .all floor were dirty of hair the room was smeeling cigarets fully.it was very bad 5 star hotel .it was a horor night ....... but for check out they call me at 10:00 for remeinding check out is on 12:00 i will never go again this hotel .
Review 48:-The indicative price of the room was fake, mentioned 500€ when actually was around 200€ -The images presented were not realistic -The room was smelling badly, in the bathroom there was broken marble sink and towels many years old -The morning buffet was a mess, with used plates over clear ones, and a quality worst than a fast food I was disappointed with my selection and annoyed form the fact that it was presented as a bargain when actually was the opposite
Review 49:Some staff was trying to help and were kind enough , with nor efficiency finally
Review 50:The quality of breakfast and nearly all services was extremely low andgeared for all inclusive Israeli package tourists paying just 30 euros aday while we payed 185 a day. Long queues everywhere, soiled sheets, smelly reception! Awful experience
Review 51:The new apartments wing
Review 52:Surly, rude, unhelfull staff May have been luxurious and stylish in the past, but all a bit faded now. High prices for drinks and food. Ridiculous high charge for wi-fi Queues for breakfast Very poor equipment in kitchen, not even a kettle, frying pan or corkscrew Cleaning not done, toiletries not replenished
Review 53:Size of room and cleanliness on arrival
Review 54:Original room allocation was a 1 star room . Old , musty , beds we're a disgrace Had to upgrade room at 30% increase on booked rate ,ie 180 to 230/night.upgraded suite still well below par . Poor staff repore re Internet etc which even in upgraded suite is not free . Breakfast was disgusting .pure volume churn out for mass package dealers
Review 55:Because i was ill , 2 front desk staff were excellent . Mia and night mngr .rest were useless and defensive .
Review 56:Where do I start?? On arrival the staff member that served me was rudeand gave me no information about the hotel other than a small pamfletwhich had minimal information about the service and facilities. Iassumed as it was a five star hotel and that the receptionist gave me noinformation that there would be some more info on the facilities in theroom but unfortunately not. I would have over looked the rudereceptionist assuming that maybe she was having a hard day but then weget to the room.We had a garden view suite on the third level. There was no garden view, just a big tree blocking all the view but I was definitely not concerned about that.Within an hour of arrival we notice the air conditioning was not working in the lounge room which also converted to the kids bedroom, the veranda door did not lock, the tv did not work (I mean at all, it did not turn on) and the glass shower screen door was still dirty.I contacted reception and advised them of the problems and she advised she wpuld get some one to the room asap. While we were out at dinner someone repaired the verander door, however nothing was done about the other 3 issues. My main concern was the aircon as the children barely got any sleep as it was too hot in the room and unfortunately I couldn't leave the veranda door open as we were on the third floor. The next morning I went to reception and spoke to the manager on duty. I advised the manager of the issues and that I could not stay in the room as it was too hot for the children. He advised that he would get someone to look at it straight away. I explained that I had been told the same thing the day before.By the time we got back from lunch, the room had been cleaned however the shower door was still not 100% clean and the tv was working. It appeared that nothing had been done about the air con as it still felt hot and stuffy.
Review 57:The rooms were dirty , housekeeps need training how to clean rooms, and the rooms need to be renewed . The hotel should be a 3 star not a 5star. Change the menu for breakfast, serve real orange juice , not water orange juice. Clean clean the rooms please dirty dirty . Loads of things need to be changed. Staff in the restaurant needs training , how to serve food and how to speak to guest,
Review 58:Near the beach The beach view was great
Review 59:The great photos on the website are not a reflection of the actual surroundings. Location is next to a very average or rather poor beach.
Review 60:Courteous staff and a hotel that is price- matched to a budget.
Review 61:Breakfast was ok but I feel the baked beans sauce could have been less watery. We also had to wait to get a table for breakfast on my last day. Otherwise no concerns.
Review 62:I enjoyed my stay at Rodos. My room was clean and very comfortable. The domestic staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was better than I expected from the previous reviews. It was good value for money. My friends stayed at a more expensive hotel and there was little difference in the service we got.
Review 63:I did not like that i have rented 1 normal room and 1 suit and they put us bought in suites and ask us money in plus...wee made booking for diferent room and chepear room. the food from breakfast it is very bad.
Review 64:The swiming pool and the graden in the back of the hotel.
Review 65:The Rodos Palace Hotel is a great Ixia Hotel with its existance of manyyears, I can see that the hotel is in a transition replecing the oldrooms&facilities with new ones; but they have to finish it quickly;because the clients are being disappointed; not finding the room theybooked! We have been upgraded to an executive wing which is said so and30 years old. So, don't believe this trick its actually a downgrade.Once we were in the room we have discovered it was twin instead ofdouble and it was the room of ancient executives, maybe one from RhodesKnights. Fortunately, we have contacted the reception and we haveheavily complained. They have moved us to apart buildings near the hotelin which the rooms were fresh and we had a private pool for 10-20 roomsuse. However this time our sea view was replaced with trees. Also we didnot like anything in the breakfast since they were too standard. Eventhough I thought this is not so important we noticed a mouse in thebreakfast room with other 3 families, all of us were shocked, but it wasquickly gone, I am sure others have tried to keep the hotel managerinformed. Long story short, not having cancellation options, we wereimpressed with our new conditions (new furnished room and semi-privatepool and nature) and stayed there for the rest of the holiday.
Review 66:We enjoyed both the room change and perfect recommendations of Renata inthe reception. Plus, the hotel is located near the city, we were soimpressed since we loved going into town twice a day. The car rental andthe supermarket is a great advantage. The sea is windy but so clean.Price/performance is good, only if you stay at the room you booked. Sothe hotel needs a big standardization of facilities& services; when thisis provided I can reccomend the hotel to anyone.
Review 67:Needs upgrade - the brass in the hotel rooms are worn down. Poor internet connection/TV (no wifi in room, slow connection - poor analog signals). The breakfast is poor. Only one toaster and one cheap juicemachine for all the guests on this big establishment - prepare to wait in line alot. The old headwaitor in the breakfast area is rude beyond imagination to his guests. I might visit again when he is retired..
Review 68:Big spacious room (jr. suite) with good facilitys. Good food in gourmet restaurant. Nice sea-view from room.
Review 69:We stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and even had our wedding there butthe current standard is nowhere near the level it was in2002..especially for a 5 star hotel.. Reception staff were very aloofand not very helpful..you felt you were bothering them by askingsomething.. Disappointed that there were almost no Greek staff to beseen..(we saw 1 during our entire 10 day stay!!). We found it difficultto get pool towels which seemed to be snapped up when the Spa opened at10h00 and not replenised in the afternoon (after 2h00).. The room wasadvertised as having a fully equipped kitchen which was not the case asthere was no electric kettle, no fridge (a small minibar that we had toask to use as a fridge), no diswasher, no oven/grill; it had basicallyonly a 2 ring hob, a microwave, a nespresso machine and basiccutlery/cups/mugs/glasses. Also, they told us that we were getting an'upgraded room' as the room we booked on Booking.com did not have akitchen?! The room we got was exactly what was advertised on Booking.comand what we paid for (except the so-called fully equipped kitchen!). Wehad a lot of noise during the night (very loud guests in a neighbouringblock and two weddings!) so difficult with a young baby.. We were alsodisappointed to find that there were ants every day in the baby's cotdespite the fact that we changed the sheets every day..!!
Review 70:Room was very spacious (family garden room - 65m2). Cleaning maidswere friendly. Covered swimming pool and pool for babies/children wasvery nice.
Review 71:Facilities are excellent. Potentially used to be a good hotel. But running very very very badly. Facilities are keeping badly. Intentionally in the worst condition. Stuff were the worst in the world. Manager is also most worst. I recommend you to check other booking site to see comment of gests. There are worst experienced guests as same number as good experienced guest. If there is no problem, you will have good holiday. But, if there is a problem, it going to further more worth by badly managing. Please check other holiday site then book at booking.com or NOT.
Review 72:Facilities are excellent. Potentially used to be a good hotel until they had entered to Euro zone.
Review 73:The pools were very cold. Even the 'heated' pool inside was colder than the ones outside
Review 74:Many Swimming pools. Not high season, so not too crowded. Good service
Review 75:The room was not ready when we went there. Poor A/C.
Review 76:The way it is built
Review 77:I did not like the breakfast. Poor quality for a Five Star Hotel.
Review 78:Standard rooms. We have to upgrade our room because it looked old and non comfortable.
Review 79:The Junior Suite
Review 80:Have stayed in the hotel many times, as we live in Greece and Rhodes is our nearest large island. Always friendly and value for money.
Review 81:grate
