Reviews for Chichester Park Hotel

Review 1:As we were in Chichester for a friends cremation we found the position very convenient.Easy to find coming from devon. The hotel itself was a pleasant surprise clean friendly and the food excellent!!

Review 2:Generally a very good stay but however our bathroom toilet hadn't been cleaned properly on the outside and when I mentioned it at breakfast the staff didn't seem too fussed and although we were leaving in few hours I would have liked if the staff suggested it be cleaned immediately not on our departure

Review 3:Location, breakfast, facilities such as the pool all great, bar a little dated in decor but nice staff and drinks so can be forgiven. Short trip into town and 24 hr bar/reception. Rooms warm and quiet. Reasonable amount of parking too

Review 4:Disappointed with bar meals - poor quality scampi and basic 'pub grub' - not much choice. TV in room not on wall, so difficult to view from bed. Channels not updated eg BBC News from 80 to 130. Not a welcoming reception and ignored when passing. Not friendly when leaving or collecting keys - too busy or bored? Visitors arrived through car-park doors into lounge - so where is security?

Review 5:Proximity to the crematorium and undertaker ( we came to a funeral). Affordable price for bar drinks. Spacious quiet room, comfortable beds. Restaurant food OK - EU staff try hard. Breakfast choice good, nice dining area able to choose table. Coffee could be better tasting.

Review 6:Black mould in the bathroom grout. Dirty shower curtain, Rusty bath plug and general tired decoration in the room.

Review 7:Sauna and steam room were nice. Quietness in the rooms at night.

Review 8:Room service barged passed me even though I asked him to wait while my partner covers herself up and replied with "its ok I have a girlfriend at home" and even after I asked him to leave he carried on as normal and continued to open the drinks and even had the cheek to wait as if I was going to tip him

Review 9:Breakfast was ok Pool and gym also ok

Review 10:Friendly and helpful staff at reception. Easy access to town and to ring road. No problem parking. A good selection of food for breakfast and again, very polite and helpful staff.

Review 11:The room was not entirely clean there was a lot of dust at the corners of the carpet and under the bed. The batteries in the remote needed changing. The pool was small with no hand holds.

Review 12:Access to Chichester and surrounds also a nice garden to relax with drink.

Review 13:Bar meal was mediocre

Review 14:Location was ideal just outside Chichester with easy access into town. Very efficient check in; comfortable and clean room with free wifi; good breakfast. Helpful staff and good value for money

Review 15:On arrival your reception staff were very helpful over a problem we had with our car. The only thing I would say is that the rooms are a bit dated and need modernising especially the bathrooms. Hard to believe that we still had to climb in and out of the bath to use the shower - which seemed to have a life of its own.

Review 16:disappointing to see that since last stay in November 2013, breakfast had gone to fully self service

Review 17:convenience location know the hotel - third stay

Review 18:Had a very nice stay beds were very comfortable and couldn't hear the people in the rooms next door and staff very friendly fercilitys were wonderfull.defiantly would stay again

Review 19:The hotel was fine for one night, a little on the drab side and I felt it was expensive as a room only price. I wouldn't stay again. We ordered two rooms as a family and I stupidly presumed they were near each other but they were not which was very disappointing. I also felt the bathrooms were in need of updating. Overall the rooms were just ok.

Review 20:Hotel decor & furniture was very 'tired' & drab. Some of the staff were not very helpful & were less than enthusiastic in their manner.

Review 21:Location was good. Room was comfortable & spacious

Review 22:Beds are terrible need new mattresses. Very basic facilities.noisy creaking floor boards no lift to upstairs rooms.

Review 23:Location is OK if you have a car. Indoor pool is good but it is open to selected members of the public.

Review 24:That I had to pay an extra £20 for the children to stay, I had book a room with children but the hotel disputed that, I didn't have time to argue as we had a wedding to attend.

Review 25:Staff were very helpful

Review 26:Room very hot, not air conditioning or extractor fan in the bathroom. Bed uncomfortable.

Review 27:Very convenient location to move my son to University of Chichester. Close to local amenities.

Review 28:Whole place needs upgrading. Noisy floorboards, chairs in restaurant & bar uncomfortable & need reshuffling, sink in ensuite chipped and scratched, lavatory flushing mechanism needed repair.

Review 29:Location, easy parking, value for money, good breakfast

Review 30:Whilst the staff were not unpleasant I experienced zero hospitality apart from the hello or good morning from the cleaning staff in corridors. Floors in corridors are very creaky so could hear everyone that walked passed your door. Whilst it's not a bad thing I did get the feeling I was in a Motel rather than a Hotel. Would I stay again? Unlikely for price

Review 31:I am originally from Chichester and was visiting friends. I chose this venue purely on the grounds of the ample car parking. Rooms were satisfactory but felt were slightly overpriced. Breakfast choice was great

Review 32:The breakfast menu was good but was not extensive leaving my wife with no choice but to abstain from breakfast which was a shame.

Review 33:It all met expectations with the exception of no computer services. I just wanted to print an email but there were no facilities for this.

Review 34:It was a little way out of town to walk as the pavements were constantly changing sides of the busy roads however the hotel itself was very pleasant and we would stay again.

Review 35:I was very tired when I arrived after the journey and enjoyed a very restful stay in the comfort of my hotel room. I slept very well and was rested before the wedding I was attending the following day. I enjoyed the beautiful, well tended gardens, which I found restful to read my book.

Review 36:We had room 210. Between the hours of 6 to 8 in the morning we were disturbed by what seemed creaking floorboards. Night time was much worse.Banging and dragging sounds between 11 and 1 in the morning.I noticed that next to our room is an area for staff only. I can only presume it contains machinery that services the hotel. Had we been booked for a longer stay I would have insisted on moving to another room.Above us was empty roof space. I did report this to reception. D N.

Review 37:Good staff. good restaurant.

Review 38:Availability of towels for swimming was expected but not available which meant our room towels became very wet and chlorinated. Car park was a squash as some of the spaces were too small to get in comfortably. The diagonals were facing the wrong direction so awkward to park in.

Review 39:Children appreciated the availability of WiFi. The pool and gym complex was great. Breakfast was excelllent. Although our rooms were initially poorly allocated, this resulted in us having a 4 poster room; which was lovely.

Review 40:Not a bad experience as such, but the rooms were much too warm. Had difficulty sleeping as it was so warm and opening the window let in noise of the traffic. However, not a major issue.

Review 41:Location was very convenient and rooms were clean. Staff were very polite, but the best experience was our second night when we decided to eat in the restaurant. The food was magnificent!!! Compliments to the chef. More should be done to encourage people to eat in the restaurant and really make the restaurant a main attraction for this hotel. The food was superb!!!

Review 42:The rooms are looking a little tired and worn and could do with some redecoration but we would stay again

Review 43:The staff were all friendly and helpful , the breakfast was excellent and the garden areas were very well kept .

Review 44:Had a grubby feel, but think it was just dated, shower curtain was smelly, no little shampoo etc.....very hot in room and no air con!

Review 45:Breakfast was nice

Review 46:very dirty and old worn décor , the bed was so worn I could feel the divan base and me and my wife both woke up with very bad backs. the room service was slow , the shower curtain had brown staining on it. and most importantly the door lock was very difficult to open from both sides of the door which could be very dangerous in the event of a fire. the pillows on the beds were no thicker than a leaf even with three it made little difference.

Review 47:the location was good

Review 48:Hot room, no aircon, could not turn off bathroom radiator, broken wall socket. Bar on Saturday night crowded with wedding reception overflow. No pots of tea at breakfast - DIY teabag in a cup. Uninspiring location and common parts felt dated. Room overpriced.

Review 49:Refurbished room was a good size and comfortable except for the heat. Good wi fi and TV. Staff friendly and professional. Bar and food prices reasonable.

Review 50:Bathroom had been refurbished to an excellent standard except for the glass shower door frame that just needed some new sealan which was discoloured and tended to spoil the effect A lift to the next floor would be very nice.

Review 51:Every every thing was excellent. Room, food. excellent value and quality. Would stay here again.

Review 52:Room was reasonably clean but décor and furniture was rather tired and a bit 1980s. Room would have benefited greatly from redecoration. Also, view was onto a not very scenic staff car park / hotel yard and on the first night of my stay, a guy was carrying out repairs to the headlights of his car and chatting on a mobile phone in the car park until 11:30 pm. Not really a major disturbance, but could have done without it.

Review 53:Hotel is just a few meters from the A27 so easy to access and provides a good base for exploration of West Sussex / Hampshire. Hotel is also just a 20 minute walk from Chichester city centre if you want to leave the car behind and have a stroll around Chichester.

Review 54:The hotel is tired. We left at 7.30 Sunday morning. For £150.00 for the night to be told breakfast not available until 8.00 and no offer of a continental breakfast was very, very poor.

Review 55:Very near Goodwood track.

Review 56:It was in an excluded area not much going on

Review 57:The cleanliness of the hotel, the swimming pool, the fact it was a 2 min walk to the harvester and there all you can eat breakfast for 4,99

Review 58:Made two bookings, 1. Through the hotel and, 2. Through booking.com, with which breakfast wasn't included and we had to pay. I suggest you don't make this school girl error!! ;) I stay in a lot of hotels for business purposes and, although nice and clean, competition out there leaves me feeling it unworthy the £75pppn.

Review 59:Staff very helpful and friendly :)

Review 60:Only had breakfast one day as we had to be elsewhere on the first day. It was great, quality food cooked well . It would only take a bit of sprucing up to make it 4 star

Review 61:1of the children's beds was very noisy and uncomfortable so she had to jump in with me. Got a wake up call I hadn't asked for at 5.50 am with not much of an apology when I contacted reception.

Review 62:My bed was very comfortable. Room was nice and location was perfect. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. There was also a gym and sauna. Staff around the hotel were very polite.

Review 63:Very dated, torn wallpaper, marked sink with age. Creaky staircase, no lift, not amenable to anyone disabled. Very disappointing..

Review 64:It was close to amenities, the pool area was clean.

Review 65:Duvets far too hot and heavy for the Summer and one of our beds was not very comfortable - did it have a memory foam topper??

Review 66:Location and the swimming pool, breakfast also very good and convenient.

Review 67:Single bed mattress not comfortable but shared small double bed.

Review 68:Everything! Double bed comfortable, Room good size, comfortable chairs, adequate space for clothes, lighting adjustable, furnishings pleasant, bedclothes sufficient, window facing beautiful garden, window could be opened, everything clean.

Review 69:The window latch was missing so we were unable to hook the window open, being on the ground floor this was not safe! The shower curtain was dirty and the bathroom generally a bit in need of an uplift.

Review 70:Mattress on the bed was awful; I believe it to be a memory foam, not a great nights sleep to be honest. Attention to detail was lacking by reception staff.

Review 71:Gym and water relaxation facilities.

Review 72:Put a fridge in the room and charge a little bit more.

Review 73:The staff were very cultured and helpful. Hotel location and facilities were very good. We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely come back.

Review 74:slightly dated but still comfortable and clean.

Review 75:Comfortable bed, staff friendly and helpful. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which was lovely, Food in the restaurant was good and had a Great night's sleep after staff bought us a fan as it was a very warm night.

Review 76:There was only enough tea/coffee/biscuits for one , asked a member of housekeeping for more but no joy. Fan in bathroom not working , bedroom full of steam , decor looking tired.bedside light not working

Review 77:Location/parking for car / bed comfortable

Review 78:That there were no lifts which when you have leg and shoulder problems made it difficult and not always a suitable help mate

Review 79:A good friendly feeling and relaxing.

Review 80:none

Review 81:Staff very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was excellent and the wide variety and quality of food and presentation of evening meal(dinner) was of a high standard. Location of hotel was ideal as we were attending a funeral service at nearby crematorium.

Review 82:The room was adequate enough, for the price, but it was dirty, there were cobwebs on the valance of curtains, and when i turned my pillow over i was surrounded by huge amounts of dust! also there were hairs in the bath. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Review 83:great location, easy to get to the town centre, great bus timetable, every 20 mins into town.

Review 84:The room was nice and clean, but the decor was a little dated. One problem was there was dried blood on the bed spread and that was rather off-putting!

Review 85:The location was excellent. The pool, spa, steam room and sauna were lovely. The bed was really comfortable. Very nice for an overnight stay.

Review 86:Rooms generally need updating our window handle was falling off. The bathroom was in bad need of update. Modern bedding needed to go with the lovely comfortable matress

Review 87:We requested 2 rooms for early check in if possible due to attending a wedding at 2pm. We arrived at 12noon 2 rooms were ready for us. The beds are really comfortable. Public areas nice.

Review 88:Nothing. Enjoyed every bit!

Review 89:Everything! Everywhere was spotless. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The pool and spa were great. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was yummy. What more can I say apart from thank ou Chichester Park Hotel.

Review 90:Rooms were unclean, I had dead bugs on the curtains, the draws under the bed have never been cleaned they were disgusting, the general cleanliness wasnt great

Review 91:The staff were pleasant and facilities were good.

Review 92:I am slightly disabled and could not use the bath as there were no grab handles to aid getting in & out. The extractor had broken and mould was forming on the ceiling.

Review 93:Easy access to surrounding area but outside Town centre. Helpful staff and good basic room with a comfortable bed. My request for a ground floor room was met. Availability of Spa (not used) that looked welcoming. Good buffet breakfast.

Review 94:The garden to sit in and have a drink. Also the restaurant where we had an evening meal was excellent with good food , good service and good ambience.

Review 95:Local knowledge limited by front of house. Room dreary. Cleanliness especially in dining room, had dead flies on all window sills, carpets dirty.

Review 96:Free wifi but not much else.

Review 97:The leisure facilities need some attention, Jacuzzi was working but needs some maintenance surrounding it. Swimming pool was fine but no towels are provided.

Review 98:Comfortable hotel, with good bedrooms for an overnight stay. Breakfast was fine and location was easy to find

Review 99:WIfi wasn't working and some members of staff didn't know why or make any attempt to find out. Entrance to hotel right outside door was covered with cigarette butts.

Review 100:The location and room size. The pool jacuzzi etc.

Review 101:Lack of information in the rooms about the hotel, no lift, lack of towels in spa - use of own towels from room meant wet towels for showering.

Review 102:Breakfast room and breakfast very good. Good food, drinks, friendly helpful staff.

Review 103:The fire alarm had a bag wrapped around it and despite asking twice our bed was not made and we didn't have a duvet. A night porter came and my other half had to show him how to put on a duvet cover.

Review 104:Comfortable beds and pillows

Review 105:Only problem we had was with showers, very difficult to figure out how to use...maybe instructions on how they operate would help ?

Review 106:Enjoyed 2 nights at hotel...clean, spacious rooms, beds comfortable & lots to choose from on evening menu, food was top quality & nicely presented. Breakfast also very good. Staff friendly & helpful.

Review 107:Upkeep of the room was rather in need of improvement. Somewhat tired décor.

Review 108:After 4 hours travel we found the hotel quiet and had a good night's sleep (Which was important as it took 5 hours to drive home the following afternoon.) Spacious room and very welcome shower

Review 109:Food was not very good. Overpriced breakfast that was cheap produce

Review 110:Like the staff as it was like watching a comedy show. However mostly at guest expense

Review 111:bit 1980's, it needs refurbishing - jacuzzi needed fixing (brickwork around it) - some public areas need a clean (lights could do with a dust, corridors hoovering)

Review 112:staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast great, steam room good

Review 113:You could not walk into Chichester, it was a 10-15 minute drive. Bedrooms were dated and not very cosy but they were functional enough. Window opened fully on 1st first floor only being held by a flimsy chain and hook to stop it from being pushed wide open, this would have been really dangerous if a child had stay in this room (211). Bedroom door was stiff and tricky to open as you needed to two hands one for the lock and other for the handle part below. I would not have wanted to do it in the dark in a rushed situation - surely this cant meet disabled or health and safety requirements!

Review 114:Bedrooms aimed probably at more of the business travellers rather than being cosy. Small swimming pool, nice little courtyard garden, good choice of food at breakfast. Close to A27 but didn't hear traffic in the room we were in.

Review 115:I suffered with the free WIFI was very slow to respond.

Review 116:The staff where knowledgeable about their facility and surrounding area, friendly polite and always willing to help, made me very welcome, the gym is basic however enough to work up a sweat, and keep in shape, thanks for s great stop :/)

Review 117:Didn't have any bad experiences, but didn't like the rough heavy blankets. Would have brought my own quilt if I had known you didn't supply them.

Review 118:Very quiet, comfortable. Didn't have to rush away straight after breakfast. Good being able to stay till 12md. Very tasty breakfast. Easy access to the town.

Review 119:Just a few snags, however they didn't alter our experience... No additional towels as we were told to take the only set from the room down to the spa, the operator didn't then answer when we wanted to ask for more... In the spa it seemed unfinished around the Jacuzzi (sand and bricks exposed)

Review 120:Really pleasant staff, over all we were happy

Review 121:The food. Evening meal (ate in the bar) wasn't worth the bother although portions were large. There's plenty of restaurants within a five-minute cab ride.

Review 122:Friendliness and can do attitude of the staff. Bar prices were refreshingly inexpensive and 24 hour service was available. Beds provide top level comfort with foam mattresses.

Review 123:Floorboards on second floor spongy - so some room noise, also walls thin and on one night had a neighbour who thought he should have been on X factor!

Review 124:Bed, food, gym, staff

Review 125:The hotel is looking tired. There was no mattress protector or duvet. Blankets and bed spread looked quite shabby. We were disturbed all night by a very noisy central heating pump/system. My complaint about this was however dealt with to my satisfaction by the Manager in the morning

Review 126:The breakfast was very good and the room was large with a comfortable bed. My complaint was dealt with by the Manager fairly and with little fuss.

Review 127:Hotel needs updating, many little things are shabby, door handles badly fitted, shower fitting does not hold shower up etc.

Review 128:Nice big room, quiet place, easy to park.

Review 129:Pity breakfast was too late for me to partake. And my lamb, at dinner, was beautifully presented but utterly devoid of flavour.

Review 130:The location - near the Goodwood race circuit.

Review 131:Tired bathroom, and hotel decor generally. Waiting staff poorly trained in not leaving any time between dinner courses.....

Review 132:The bed quality, quiet ish location, parking

Review 133:I feel wi-fi should be free.

Review 134:Breakfast very good. Dinner also excellent. Good idea to have set prices for a certain number of courses. Staff in restaurant all very attentive and polite. Probably need a notice to inform guests that porridge is available.

Review 135:Hotel seemed very run down. Didn't like the fact that there was a blanket on the bed no duvet with cover. Blanket obviously not fresh laundered for each new guest

Review 136:Pool area was ok. Few minutes walk to shopping complex, john lewis etc

Review 137:Room was freezing cold at night time and in the morning, had the room been heated better my score would have been higher

Review 138:Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, Room was clean and comfortable building seemed to be in good condition and the 24 hour service was brilliant

Review 139:I am amazed that there was no free wi fi....I was not going to pay even the £5 fee for a day. It should be a free service in every hotel....and in most I stay in, it is. Very disappointing!!

Review 140:Good location. Warm friendly staff and generally clean and comfortable.
