Reviews for Prince Hotel

Review 1:Not a big issue, but if I have to say something... The hotel is a few miles away from the city centre - ok for bikers and motorists, not so much for people on foot. However, an uber-car to the centre is only about £7.

Review 2:Comfortable bed. Booked room with shared bathroom, but room included washbasin and shower (no toilet) --- very convenient!

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:Ticked all the boxes for me. As a solo traveller in business, this place had everything required for a very good price. Comfy double bed, shower, free wifi, tv, conti breakfast. Small car park, but on street parking is free and plentiful. Staff are very friendly. There is a shop and Indian restaurant 200 yards away, and the food is lovely. It's more of a b&b than a hotel, but nothing wrong with that, as far as I was concerned.

Review 5:Hotel is in a quite old building, so floor and bed was making some noise. Also walls where pretty thin and I was able to hear my neighbor.

Review 6:Staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel was pretty clean, smells nice. For breakfast there was a big choice of cereals, fruits and others. Also bus connection with the center of Birmingham was great!

Review 7:Small bathroom,i heard all night noises from neighbours, wasn't so warm the room! The receptionist took us on another building across the road, smelled like cooking inside (bad odor) the bathroom inside the room had pubic hair on toilet and in the shower!

Review 8:Comfortable bed, clean sheets.

Review 9:I think they have been doing some work as old beds and doors were outside the windows

Review 10:Absolutely lovely! Staff are really friendly! Clean and the beds are very comfy!

Review 11:poor quality. but what do I expect for 50 quid. more of a HMO than a hotel more hostel for people without a fixed abode as many residents appeared to be long stay rather than short business stay. probably used by local authorities to house people on the social waiting list. not a hotel for short stays. I was out in a house across the road from the main hotels which itself is an extended house. the views are shocking. have a look at the photos. lady birds nesting in the light fitting came out at night and crawled along the ceiling. I'm an engineer and I do question the adequacy of the fire alarm sounder to provide 75db at the bed head as required by British standards in premed is with sleeping accommodation such as hotels. fire door pretty suspect too. the towel rail in the bathroom was not working. I did ask the owner and he said it was blocked and he was going to fix it. I guess it's been like that for years. people obviously are allowed to smoke in the rooms as the smell of stale smoke was everywhere are the smell of new smoke too wouldn't recommend.

Review 12:friendly owner

Review 13:regular disturb in the middle of the night member staff wasn't helpful Internet access was unreliable

Review 14:In the place where I stayed the breakfast was included in the price

Review 15:Smelled of cigarette smoke when we walked in but didnt smell it again later. Smelled of air freshner later. Partner would have liked another pillow.

Review 16:Breakfast was great, loads of lovely fruit, cereals and toast. Egg offered also. Welcoming and homely. Shower in room nice touch. Very quiet, parking.

Review 17:Not a bad experience though cosmetic update wouldn't harm.

Review 18:Basic b&b though clean and comfortable with friendly welcome. Couple miles from centre but bus stop close by and easy access to Hagley Rd and on to M5

Review 19:Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice room with good view. Securuty good, near to shops and bus stop. Good breakfast. Very clean and well kept. Good WiFi connection

Review 20:Nothing. Very bad room at the entry and very noisy. The floor and the door creaked and when the people passing by the hall it was very bothering. The wi-fi didn't work, no articles for shower, poor breakfast. In front of the window there were the parking car (beautiful view). Avoid it!

Review 21:Big room.

Review 22:None

Review 23:Great hotel, very clean room and bathroom, very welcoming very reasonable cost compared to other local hoteland very close to good local buses to city centre enjoyed my stay would stay there again next time I come to Birmingham

Review 24:Not offered wifi password. I am sure they would have given if asked for. However this should be left in the room after guest checkin

Review 25:Friendly and caring staff

Review 26:Nothing of any real significance but, at risk of putting upwards pressure on the price, a better quality shared shower.

Review 27:Excellent value for money and very friendly folk. Slightly tired exterior and no unnecessary fripperies but all the essentials in place. Handy location if like me you don't mind a bus trip or a good walk out of the city centre.

Review 28:There was no allocated parking space so we had to park on the side of the road. We were given a room that reeks of cigarette smoke and facilities are very poor. Owner obviously have no plans of providing good customer experience. Don't book! Worst hotel we've been!

Review 29:My room was on the street which was noisy , but it wasn't big problem .

Review 30:Nice staff , good prise , good internet and breakfast . If I visit Birmingham Agian , I will stay in this hotel .

Review 31:Friendly greeting.Room had everything needed.Good value for money.. Fabulous vegetarian breakfast. Liked the tv then.Sorry had to ' run away'! so soon after.

Review 32:Not very clean despite reading good reviews. We were put in a smokers room and we don't smoke so it smelt awful. Drains were blocked so shower kept over filling at the bottom. Not normally one to complain but wasn't that happy really .

Review 33:Breakfast was really good , staff were lovely

Review 34:Lots of loud stairs. Strong smell of pot in the hallway both days and at night. Wi-Fi signal was weak. Big spider in the shower. Other guests were loud until late, and the walls must have been really thin. Won't stay there again for sure.

Review 35:I don't think the proprietor spoke much English but he smiled at least.

Review 36:More of a BnB than a hotel. Was charged one pound to print of my boarding pass

Review 37:Parking is available, which was a big bonus. The price was also competitive and was room was warm Use of iron board and iron

Review 38:Nothing not to like.

Review 39:Staff very welcoming and extremely helpful and friendly. I stayed for a week as visiting family in the area.Breakfast was cereals, toast, fruit, eggs, tea and coffee by the pot, fruit juice, so plenty of choice.

Review 40:- no negative points. You get what you can expect for this money.

Review 41:- Very clean. - Friendly, helpful people. - Good value for money (cheap) - Shared bathroom (as expected) - Silent during the night. - Busstop to Birmingham City (service 9 and 126) just around the corner. Approx. 20 minutes.

Review 42:Nothing wrong with place . I needed the NEC and I am not used to driving in Birmingham so I would have been better being closer to the NEC

Review 43:Friendly staff

Review 44:Shower was awkward to use: difficult to set temperature and too easy to knock lever when in use. One power socket was unusable due to stuck earth shutter and had to pull desk out from the wall to use another pair

Review 45:Close to city centre, helpful staff, 24hr book in, comfortable bed, spacious room

Review 46:Wifi not stable. Probably not the owner's fault. However, the bathrooms are lack of hooks....

Review 47:Staff and owner are friendly. Quality breakfast. The bed, room are nice and clean. Toilet are always kept clean.

Review 48:The facilities are pretty basic with a shared bathroom and just a sink in the room.

Review 49:I was a bit apprehensive when I walked into the room because it was pretty basic but the bed was really comfortable so I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was quite good and the staff lovely.

Review 50:Nothing to dislike, you get what you pay for.

Review 51:Free wifi is great and very easy to get on to. The location is also good a short drive or 30mim romp into town.

Review 52:I'm really happy to stay in the Prince hotel, a nice, kind and friendly manager. The quiet area and simply accessed to the hotel by a direct bus from the city centre. I highly recommended this hotel.

Review 53:the room was cold, dispite it being a very cold day, we just could not warm up.

Review 54:the bed was comfortable we were greeted well, and spoken to with respect.

Review 55:We were staying in the hotel across the road from the actual hotel where we checked in. The hotel we were in was extremely noisy. People in and out all night. The cleaners were noisy at times in the early morning and people were knocking on the door all night and turning the hall light on and off.

Review 56:The hotels staff were very welcoming and helpful especially the manager. We had a lovely stay and everything was clean in our room and everything was there which we needed.

Review 57:Shared bathroom but I was made aware so I'm not complaining and it was very clean

Review 58:I was made very welcome it was just an overnight stay didn't need any bells or whistles breakfast was fine

Review 59:WiFi is sluggish and unstable

Review 60:Not luxiourios, but got everything you need. Clean and well looked after. Helpful and non-intrusive staff. A very comfortable 6 night stay. High recommended and good value for small money.

Review 61:The staff were really helpful and the room was very comfortable and clean. This is a budget hotel so you're not going to get a sauna and steam room but the shower facilities and toilets were all clean and tidy and the owner is very very helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the morning is excellent and they obviously take great pride in what they do here. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a low cost but very homely stay.

Review 62:Dirty carpets and rooms, shower broken and Luke warm. Noisy at night and with only one bathroom people up early to get a warm shower. Due to being dirty I thought the kitchen would be the same so didn't try breakfast..

Review 63:Not much

Review 64:Floor un even in the room Could have done with a Hoover Net curtains a disgusting yellow Sink gurgled when used by others outside the room

Review 65:Bedding clean and nice Tea and coffee well presented in the room and clean cup and kettle Clean towels provided

Review 66:The area is a bit out of the way for some. The property looks pretty rundown from the outside and quite unappealing. Inside the rooms are quite dated and although the bedding and such were clean, the room was a bit grubby in places (dirty marks on the walls and chair). Noise could be heard from all the other rooms and it basically feels like you're staying in someone's house. Shared bathrooms looked pretty small and untidy (I think due to another guest not clearing up after themselves).

Review 67:The owner was very helpful. Upgraded us to a room with a bathroom for free. Fixed any issue we had immediately. Very friendly. Positioned close to the bus stop, so it was really easy to get in and out of town. Big, clean bathroom. TesCo Extra just across the road. Free breakfast (although we didn't have time to try it). Check in is earlier than most places. Think this B&B would be best suited to singles, students or couples on a really tight budget. Can't fault the service, I just think the place needs to be updated.

Review 68:Booked the Prince Hotel because it was right near the Hagley Road (plenty of buses) and was very reasonable. I've paid a lot more for worse, so happily booked it for a couple of future stays. Easy check in, polite staff, perfectly adequate facilities, simple but filling breakfast...

Review 69:I didn't find any problem during my stay there. Its about 2 miles away from city center and frequent bus services are available just outside the hotel.

Review 70:I visited Birmingham in last week for a business trip and booked my stay at prince hotel for 5 nights. A Wonderful service I received during my stay there. All facilities as mentioned in Booking.com page was maintained. After all, its a full value for money!!

Review 71:Pretty far away from city centre and few restaurants around. Bus is recommended, if you are staying for leisure.

Review 72:It's very near Tesco, and bus stops. The staffs are very friendly, and very helpful. It's a house with a couple of en-suite rooms, so it makes you feel home-y. Very comfortable! Price is including breakfast, so completely worth it. Oh, and the towel rack is warm :3

Review 73:Perhaps there could be a full breakfast available for an extra cost.

Review 74:Value for money (only £27.50 for a single room with shared toilet/shower). Sharing was no problem for one night. Convenient for buses to Birmingham City centre. Good continental breakfast and very friendly owner.

Review 75:nothing!

Review 76:The staff is amazing, everybody is so kind and helpful for everything you can need. The hotel is in a perfect location to go to the centre and to the Universiy of Birmingham. The rooms are cosy and clean and the bathrooms are kept clean all the day long. The continental breakfast in the common room make you feel at home.

Review 77:Although some users write that wifi is problematic, it was not. Yet, one adaptor is travelling the hole otel, but still very powerfull.

Review 78:Staff was very kindly and helper to foreing people. Moreover, it was very good for money to these features.

Review 79:The room needed to be upgraded as toilet in room booked was shared with other guests not ideal with small child. The other guests were very nosiy I was woken at 5 most nights nd 1 and last night with screaming nd shouting

Review 80:They owner was friendly nd got foods to suit my sons diet in for his breakfast gluten free bread nd soya milk

Review 107:Uncomfortable bed

Review 108:The menu

Review 109:Friendly, flexible and accommodating service

Review 110:I think this place should be called a hostel and not a hotel. The receptionist wasn't friendly at all. Wouldn't advise staying here.

Review 111:service was tailor made very helpful and flexible staff

Review 112:Breakfast was nice good assortment for continental style. Staff were friendly.

Review 113:The entrance - peeling paint and fag ends lying about don't give a good impression

Review 114:Comfy bed, quiet, pleasant staff, very good value.

Review 117:The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful! The whole stay was very enjoyable

Review 118:Poor hotel, advertised with non smoking but a smokers hotel, with air refreshers all over the place, and the smell of drugs in the corridor.
