Reviews for Bromley Court Hotel

Review 1:The room was very small and the double bed took up the entire space it felt. Room service tray had to be placed on the bed as there was no available hard surface. Could not walk around the bed without falling over the small desk chair so had to crawl over bed to answer the phone. Heating broke down so had to request heater. Order room service and the wrong things were supplied. Corridors and lift, scruffy.

Review 2:The housekeeper was pleasant

Review 3:I have not stayed in such a small room before and had I been a large person I would have struggled in the very compact ensuite Had the bedroom been layed out differently it may niot have looked so cramped

Review 4:convenience

Review 5:I found the alarm clock a nightmare. There were no instructions and I couldn't see how to be sure I had set it so I had asked for an alarm call at 9am. However, It went off early in the morning (presumably it had not been zeroed by the staff) and as I didn't know how to stop it I turned it off at the mains, so then there was no lit clock in the room. The TV remote only worked occasionally, either it's old or it needs new batteries. There also should be USB sockets so that phones can be charged directly without needing a 3-pin plug.

Review 6:It was convenient to where I needed to be.

Review 7:Incomplete toiletries in room first day (corrected). Some noise from bedroom doors late at night.

Review 8:Convenient for our requirements, clean rooms and courteous, helpful staff. Main entrance closed for tile replacement but inconvenience well minimised.

Review 9:Bed lumpy Dining took 1 hour 50 mins, had to chase the order. First course arrived hot in places, luke warm in others. Disappointed as i stayed here regularly years ago and had fond memories and was looking forward to staying again

Review 10:The place, its menu choices

Review 11:Restaurant staff were very accommodating. I asked for ice, just ice but he brought an ice bucket full of ice, two glasses and a pitcher of fresh water for us which for some reason stood out as very tentative

Review 12:I found my second very annoying and stressful because the room next door had their TV on very loud .I tossed and turned all night.Eventually I called reception and they sorted out the problem straight away but it was 5 in the morning. Therefore my stay was ruined expecially because I am suffering from stress and had booked myself in the hotel to rest for a couple of days.

Review 13:I love the settings of the hotel .I love the uniquenes the rooms are very different. The hotel is not part of a chain.

Review 14:Window had been left open by the chambermaid; when we returned from a day out, the room was cold as much as being insecure which was not good at all. Towel rail fell off and made huge clatter in middle of the night. Only one glass in bathroom and would have been better with two. Sometimes wonder why we keep on returning; perhaps in the hope things have/will improved...

Review 15:Very comfortable bed with nice fresh clean sheets this time.

Review 16:One small complaint the full English breakfast could have been hotter but for the price I paid for the night I'm not going moan to much about it.

Review 17:Great location for touring locally, and Central London. Very Clean, Very Comfy, and Very accommodating Staff. I'll be back for more.

Review 18:I shared a twin room with my 83 year old dad. He has very poor eye sight and walks, but very slowly, and is a little wobbly too. We shared this information when booking the hotel and was amazed when we were put in a room for disabled people. It had wide corridors, a walk in shower with a seat and emergency alarms. Also, it was very close to the lift and on the same floor as the breakfast room. This was all excellent .

Review 19:Front desk gave a very sour check in. Nothing worse than a sarcastic receptionist followed by no assistance at all. Except for the restaurant staff, these peoples hearts are clearly not in this job.

Review 20:The restaurant is classical

Review 21:Didn't realise till we got home that I'd had an email offeringus a room upgrade from booking.com- it obviously wasn't offeredwhen we checked in. But my fault for not checking emails over ChristmasI suppose!

Review 22:The refurbishment meant a very modern comfortable bedroom, bathroom andsumptuous dining room area- we were impressed.

Review 23:Staff very pleasant and efficient, excellent choice of food and quality of food, very good knowledge and availability of gluten free food. Good Christmas atmosphere.

Review 24:The smell of food from the second you stepped out of your bedroom door. I felt we were walking in a giant restaurant.

Review 25:I liked the very modern bedroom & bathroom we stayed in, Room 216. The guy at the check in desk was friendly, helpful and polite - the reason I left good feedback.

Review 26:The restaurant staff were pleasant but seemed to have no idea what they should be doing. Pre-meal tasty breads served after starters - Wine eventually turned up after starters cleared from table on another occasion despite asking a number of times for our wine and water. On another occasion order the same meal as the night before but it tasted nothing like the first meal.

Review 27:It is being redecorated to a high standard.

Review 28:we had my daughter's 30th Birthday meal in the restaurant. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and attentive noticing when wine classes needed to be filled etc. They made the occasion for my family's special occasion very memorable.

Review 29:The heating didn't work in the room but they bought me a free standing heater which I was more than happy with. Restaurant staff although very courteous, didn't appear very experienced and lacked leadership..

Review 30:The room, although small, was very clean and well presented, much more stylish than I had expected, very good design. Reception staff were very good.

Review 31:I thought the breakfast was included in the price when I booked. Only to be chased by a member of staff as I hadn't paid for it. Very embarrassing!!!

Review 32:Very good hotel

Review 33:There wS nothing to dislike.

Review 34:The hotel staff are very professional and smiley. Bars, lounges, etc lovely and welcoming. Breakfast excellent. Old school, charming hotel.

Review 35:The bathroom in our room was on the small side, however it was modern with good facilities.

Review 36:We found the staff most helpful and friendly. We had both dinner and breakfasts in the hotel which we both enjoyed.

Review 37:Large room, comfy bed, nice clean bathroom, very pleased. Lots of parties on downstairs which gave a lovely atmosphere in the hotel but our room was really quiet.

Review 38:I did not like the cleaning staff banging on the door just after 8.30am. It would have been nice to have some decaf tea or coffee in the room.

Review 39:The room was small but comfortable, it was quiet with very good views.

Review 40:Everything Executive room with 4 beds! Refused for dinner at 20:00! Manager never showed up, asked twice! No service in both bars Only having drinks when your are staying in the hotel. Embarrassing for other guests. No clerc or help with suitcases, lots of stairs. No minibar or possibility to get some drinks.. Asked for rare beef, got, of course, medium... Bathroom seriously slippery, to dangerous. Again, nothing pro-active, for everything you have to chase (and find) staff. Etc. etc. Main problem is that managers do not show up. Staff is also embarrassed and apologizing again and again...

Review 41:Nothing. Actually 2 persons, the Portuguese and Italian waiter. The only ones that are pro-active customer friendly

Review 42:I ordered food when I got back to my room. I waited 40 minutes. Then it was wrong. Waited another 15 minutes. They forgot the Branson pickle which was part of the meal ordered. Then waited for that. Staff said he was new

Review 43:Liked all that I saw

Review 44:The room next to mine had guest that decided to slam doors & shout from 11.30am to 4am that was really the worst thing about this hotel and the lack of a bit of sound proofing in the rooms

Review 45:good friendly staff nothing was to much trouble

Review 46:I used to stay here a few years ago, but the decor was getting a little tired. Now they have refurbished lots of areas it is like a boutique hotel. Our room was luxurious (very smart bathroom and shower) and bed extremely comfortable. Will definitely start staying here again. Breakfast was nice as always, refurbished dining hall very smart. Recommend.

Review 47:The only down-side to my visit was the softness of the bed, being disabled I would have preferred a firmer mattress.

Review 48:The best thing about my stay was the location compared to where the person I was visiting lived. The staff very well mannered, polite and helpful.

Review 49:Room not spacious as double bed room. Next door were noisy till 2am it was a bit uncomfortable for my Mrs who told me in morning but me I had a very good sleep. Parking problem!

Review 50:The location and room was tidy. Comfortable bed and very clean bathroom

Review 51:No obvious ability to adjust room temperature. Got lost a number oftimes to/from room - need better exit/reception signs. Multiplesets of stairs was unexpected.

Review 52:Room with no view...a rooftop to look over...

Review 53:The room service at 3am, brilliant service and without a doubt the very best sandwich I have ever had in any hotel, and I travel an awful lot. The reception staff on my arrival, I was running very late and they arranged a taxi for my visit to my next location, courtesy call to the room everything, very professional and very polite.

Review 54:I only stayed one night

Review 55:Hotel was luxurious and grand , the staff were polite . helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and well furnished. The restaurant was stylish and the food was top quality. I had dinner nad breakfats

Review 56:Couldn't open window. Charged more than originally quoted, didn't notice till next day.

Review 57:Recently refurbished to a very high standard. Room modern, fantastic bathroom, restaurant modern but pretty, overlooking garden,

Review 58:We were there for a family celebration. The food and service was very food. Had breakfast in the morning which again was very nice.Bathroom was a bit small but had everything we needed.

Review 59:Hotel sits back from main Rd , which made it nice and quiet , however , a car is a must!!. Toilet was very close to the wall in the shower room and tucked away in corner , not good for a large person ( fortunately I am not ! ).

Review 60:Although menu was a fairly basic one !I really enjoyed the Tandoori chicken with accompaniments and my friends had a steak which they said we're cooked to perfection. Decor was very tasteful throughout hotel.

Review 61:Very clean bedroom and bathroom. Free WiFi and good quality food in the restaurant. A good varied selection at breakfast. Good selection of channels on the TV. Air conditioning was also available in our room.

Review 62:Quilts for single beds are way to small for the beds.

Review 63:All areas of the hotel are at a very high standard of decoration. Good to have AC controls in room.

Review 64:Booked an Executive Room. Most of the bedrooms had been done up except this one! If only I had been told. Room decoration and furniture VERY tired and worn out, old fashioned. Bathroom fittings desperate for upgrade!

Review 65:Reception very efficient and welcoming. Room service very quick.

Review 66:For a double room it would have been nice to have two chairsWe would

Review 67:A lovely bathroom most impressive. Comfortable bed but a rather hot duvet Delightful grounds for an afternoon stroll All staff were most helpful

Review 68:It sounds petty, but the only thing we didn't like was the hotel room doors have a tendency to slam shut and this woke us up on a number of occasions.

Review 69:The staff very friendly and helpful, the hotel is very well equipped and the décor is elegant.

Review 70:There was a problem with the online booking via booking.com as my office had booked the room but the hotel had no record of it. This was the second time it had happened

Review 71:The staff were very supportive, particularly as it appeared my booking hadn't been registered

Review 72:Ideal location for us as we were visiting family close by. We have stayed here before and will return again. Friendly staff clean comfortable room and food very good.

Review 73:I specifically asked for a room near the lift and had to take aa lift to the third floor them clinb steep stairs to my room. When I got there the card did not work. I am 9 weeks after a hip replacement and made is clear this visit was one which I needed the right room. The receptionist was very helpful and sent someone to take my bags, but said that there were no other single rooms. If this was the case, the hotel should have warned me, and I could go elsewhere. i am booked to stay again in November and hope this is not repeated.

Review 74:i have always found the Bromley Court my top stay when on business (over 20 years)

Review 75:Lovely restaurant and beautiful gardens. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The only down side was the heating was on all night and the windows didn't open so we had to sleep with the air conditioning on.

Review 76:The garden and setting - very beautiful. The food! The dinners were excellent and the breakfast buffet offered lots of choices. Also, when we asked for a change of duvet to one with a lighter weight, our request was met immediately. Staff were all very helpful.

Review 77:single rooms are always on the small side particularly when only a single bed.

Review 78:I knew the hotel quite well. Was having lunch in restaurant on the Tuesday.

Review 79:Soiled sheets, Poor breakfast; eggs tasted off. Bacon also had an unpleasant aftertaste as did the tomatoes. I joked, suggesting that £10 for a sausage is far too expensive though not funny really. Not good enough for someone that had booked a deluxe room (with dirty windows) on the ground floor. Bathroom was too small for deluxe room and there was only the one large towel and one small towel for two people.

Review 80:not a lot (this time) We have been three times to this hotel over the last four years and it was far better then than it was on our recent visit. We won't be going back.

Review 81:The hotel was very noisy banging doors receptionist the next morningconfirmed there was complaints but offered no apology or compensationthis is not what we expect from this hotel we have stayed in many timeswe are unsure if we will stay again

Review 82:The room was on the small side, but very well equipped and clean and for a single nights stay the room size was not an issue.

Review 83:The breakfast was lovely with good vegetarian options and soya milk. The staff were helpful and polite.

Review 84:A bit of late night noise from inconsiderate guests at a wedding party.

Review 85:Comfortable, spacious room. Helpful, friendly staff. Convenient and free parking.Considering the hotel is quite big and busy the ambience was very relaxed.

Review 86:The pillows were very very uncomfortable - neither me nor my partner got much sleep as they were so bad

Review 87:The staff were lovely and friendly, the location is perfect

Review 88:Very overpriced for what we got. We had an executive suite with promisedviews......which were visible over the top of the conservatory roof!Breakfast was preordered for room service at 09:30 (this was also confirmed on arrival). Breakfast arrived at 10:30, when we were on our way out, after having to be phoned by us at 10:00. When we complained the staff member tried to convince us that he was doing us a favour for not charging us .........for the complimentary breakfast!!

Review 89:Bed was comfortable

Review 90:Perfect for south east London and Kent but traffic can be heavy if travelling to Central London

Review 91:Quality hotel with a competitive price, excellent food and friendly staff

Review 92:Room quite small with an uninspiring view of other rooms windows also bathroom was quite squashed. Breakfast seemed expensive at £10 each.

Review 93:Good price with deal. Bathroom tiling impressive.

Review 94:Nothing - all good!

Review 95:What a great hotel & stay. Lovely staff, superb room. Great price too. We don't often go to the Bromley area, but if we do - we'll stay here again for sure!

Review 96:The room smelt of smoke and the smoke alarm was covered. We reported it to front desk and they insinuated we had done that I don't smoke aswell as being pregnant so that was a bad start being accused when I'm a paying guest and it wasn't cheap as was last room on bank holiday wknd. The room was not very clean and the bed was uncomfortable. There was also a party in their Hall which went on for hours until late which kept us up. I personally wouldn't stay again and gutted to the money I gave but lesson learnt

Review 97:Location

Review 98:THE ONLY THING I WOULD MENTION BREAKFAST BUFFET HOT FOOD THE FRIED EGGS HAD BEEN THERE TOO LONG AND HAD OVER COOKED A BIT AND WERE HARD KEP AN EYE ON THEM AS I WANTED FRESH ONES BUT MY PLATE OF FOOD WOULD HAVE GONE COLD

Review 99:STAFF AND HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT CANNOT QUIBBLE AT ALL ,VERY HELPFUL,CURTEOUS EVERYONE I MET

Review 100:My wife is disabled we was given a room at the back of the hotel. We was not told about the lift we had to walk up flight after flight and found our room tucked away in a corner of the hotel it took us twenty minutes to find our room not the most easiest room to find for someone who can walk and if you can't walk long distances well I say no more.

Review 101:Not a lot

Review 102:Noise after midnight from wedding party smoking out side below window and waiting for taxis, had to pay for breakfast, which thought was included in price

Review 103:I didn't like getting a lift to the third floor and then having to trail up and down small flights of stairs to get to the room. It was a cool night for the time of year and the room was cold with no means of being heated as the central heating was not yet on. Had to go and search for ordinary tea as the only teabags in the room were Earl Grey and Camomile!

Review 104:Location of this hotel is really good. It was quiet, the room was a good size and adequate for a single night. It's a little old, and this is reflected in its decor etc but the staff were helpful & friendly.

Review 105:I felt it was overpriced, and in the room, which was at the front of the building, we could hear everyone coming and going and talking in the car park area outside. The hotel caters for weddings and parties, so I imagine it could be a lot worse. Closing the windows didn't make much difference. Be aware that the appearance of a non- slip mat on the bottom of the bath doesn't actually mean that it isn't slippery still. My husband ( a perfectly able - bodied person) slipped in the bath and hurt his ribs. They were still painful in the morning, and though the manager knew about it, and it was acknowledged that it was a problem, at no time were we offered as much as a free coffee, and I had to ask the manager to cover the small taxi fee to the station the next morning because it was too painful for my husband to carry his bags to the bus stop. Wouldn't reccommend.

Review 106:We had the superior double room, which was comfortable and very clean and had a very good bathroom. The menu and food at dinner were good, and the staff friendly enough, though the atmosphere was very subdued.

Review 107:Room was dated. One of the lights was not working, litter had been left in the bin, towel rail was insecure and fell off. Bathroom was short of shelf space for personal items. Hardly what I would call a superior room.

Review 108:Good location with parking.

Review 109:On this occasion, we could not fault anything with the room.

Review 110:We stayed in the new wing and the rooms are very modern and comfortable. We were a little apprehensive in staying at this hotel because on the previous occasion we stayed in a top floor room which was very old fashioned and the bed had seen better days. We spent most of the night clinging on for dear life for fear of falling out. To be honest booking at this hotel again was subject to debate and it was only because it was cheap that we booked it again. We were really pleasantly surprised. The room was immaculate and was really good value for money. If you like chintz then book the old wing, but if you like clean lines and modern then ask to be booked in to the new wing. Superb.

Review 111:Whilst not really a bad experience, there is clearly a lot of weddings/parties at the hotel, which went on late and didn't always make sleeping that easy.

Review 112:Room was nice, staff pleasant, seemed to have good facilities. Very good breakfast options, although it could been made better with easier access to cutlery/plates.

Review 113:Nothing to dislike.

Review 114:Immaculately clean. I arrived on a very hot day after a long drive so it was a pleasure to find that the aircon worked brilliantly. At night, I like a cold bedroom and got one. The bed was a little soft for me but I appreciate that is personal. I don't see how anyone could possibly complain about parking; there was ample room and I was able to pitch up in front of Reception. The staff were very agreeable and made no fuss when I locked my key in the room. Very efficient in finding me a taxi. The room was comfortable, bright and airy. Wifi kicked in immediately and broadband was fast in all areas. Plentiful hot water and brisk showers. Lovely traditional garden. All in all a haven in a busy suburb. Ample and tasty breakfast. Attentive staff.

Review 115:The noise all the door bang shut which was very annoying and did not sleep at all.could put signs up for guests to be quiet when in corridors....

Review 116:Room was a little small and opposite lift stuck in the corner of the building overlooking car park

Review 117:The hotel was very opulent and everything I required .. friendly staff , very clean and excellent value for money

Review 118:The fact that it was awfully noisy. I wasn't aware that the place is hosting functions..there was no excape. Two weddings and one birthday party on that night when we stayed. It was so noisy we couldn't open the window.was so hot and suffocating during the night. Terrible experience will never visit again..would never recommend

Review 119:It does not strike me as being the best value for money as other hotels have opened in the area offering competition.

Review 120:I have stayed at the hotel several times and it is clean and comfortable.

Review 121:We got double charged for our breakfast. I only noticed this as a result of a conversation with my fellow travellers.

Review 122:Nothing was too much for the staff we dealt with.

Review 123:very noisy in rooms next door until 01,30 am and payment was taken from my booking before hand even though this site says it would not, upgraded to garden view but could only see top of the conservatory

Review 124:location and late check inn

Review 125:Would not recommend if travelling with small children as we were put in room above the bar which was extremely noisy continually waking my baby up

Review 126:The hotel location and facilities

Review 127:. The one thing I was disappointed about was that the Jacuzzi wasn't available for use when I stayed.

Review 128:I stayed at The Bromley Court Hotel for one night. I had a very enjoyable stay. I had a classic double room which was an adequate size and the en suite bathroom was reasonable too. I also used the gym that was available for guests to use and this was well equipped. The staff were all very nice and friendly. I had a continental breakfast in my room in the morning which was very tasty.

Review 129:We had a twin room with barely enough space between the beds to place a hand. If I had been travelling with a work colleague, rather than a family member, this would have been very uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on the same bed! The room and bathroom were tiny. One of the waiting staff, Sergio, was bizarre. After giving a drinks order three times, he brought 'a glass of milk' in a teapot with a teacup, saucer, teaspoon and sugar!! Another cold drink which was specifically asked for without ice, came in a glass full of ice. The staff at breakfast were surly, slow and generally looked and acted as if they would rather be anywhere else but there. After a while, we felt the same.

Review 130:The food was good and Erin, our waitress for dinner, was very helpful, friendly and efficient.

Review 131:I was disappointed with booking . Com. I selected a room which woul accommodate 2 Adult and a child. They provided a twin. room which accommodate two adults.

Review 132:There was a wedding that day we had a long wait to get a drink at the bar the room was 2floor above the hall for the wedding so we had 2hours of music so we could not sleep when we wanted it would have been nice to be warned. About the wedding so we could have booked some wear else

Review 133:Very clean
