Reviews for Hyatt Regency Birmingham
Review 1:The food selection was a bit scarce .. The robes where not fluffy and there where no creams ect at the spa These should be standard What could of been super comfortable was just regular comfort
Review 2:The room was lovely aswel as the servise and spa ...
Review 3:Great location, we were visiting the German markets and city centre. Staff were lovely and the white wine in the bar was great, even spotted a famous face.
Review 4:The staff are super friendly and sincere. I was kindly offered complimentary breakfast and made to feel really welcome. Will stay here anytime I head to Birmingham. Great experience.
Review 5:Room has no windows. We arrived and there were no robes or slippers had to call reception and the spa was not available due to swimming pool issues
Review 6:The atmosphere and appearance was nice
Review 7:Maybe bar staff should have a smile and friendly approach rather than looking at you down there nose and stuck up .not a pleasant experience to want to drink in
Review 8:Very clean smart surrounding. Nice ambience on evening .nice and central
Review 9:The heating did not work well and it took a couple of attempts to get maintenance to come and correct the issue. The bath tub had not been cleaned properly and I had to get the chamber person to come and clean it. Also the room slippers where missing in my room and another room that I had booked.
Review 10:The staff at the hotel where friendly and polite. It is an excellent location for the night life and restaurants. The spa was good and comfortable. The pub at the hotel was cosy and the food was very enjoyable. The food at the New Year's Eve gala was well presented and tasty. It did appear that it was a little disorganised and the staff did not appear to know what course each table where at. The other issue I had was that the table we had and the couple next to us found it to be quite cold and draughty.
Review 11:Left early, room had bad view and was very cold. The main reason for our stay was to see the fire work display, when I asked for a room with view I was informed that none were available yet I booked well in advance.Car park to far away !!!
Review 12:All the staff were very pleasant and very help full.
Review 13:We have come two years running on New Year's Day and the guests leaving stay over so we may try and come a day later.
Review 14:The bedrooms were large and comfortable and the connecting door was good so no one felt alone.
Review 15:Found the staff slightly off-ish. The pool in the spa area was quite dirty & there were several things such as lights that weren't working in our room - nothing major but showed a lack of attention to detail. The mirror in our bathroom had been "drawn on" by previous guests & not properly cleaned meaning every time it steamed up we could see what had been written there.
Review 16:The rooms are comfortable & stylish & our view was gorgeous.
Review 17:Fabulous stay in Hyatt to visit Christmas Market. Comfortable room overlooking Gas St. Had good room deal so breakfast not included but we found breakfast buffet really good anyway - expensive but it is a Hyatt- great coffee.Staff attentive but not intrusive. Definitely will go back.
Review 18:My bill had a bar bill on it that I did not spend. This was removed. The cost of breakfast was not explained clearly. I was quoted per day not for the stay. I found this to be excessive when I paid the bill.
Review 19:Location, view, clean.
Review 20:there is nothing to dislike.
Review 21:Everything about the hotel is amazing, but I really enjoyed the breakfast, seems a little steep in price at first, but definitely worth it in the end.
Review 22:Poor soundproofing meant were heard our neighbours who were not being excessively noisy. Breakfast is expensive so we ate outside the hotel. Parking is expensive
Review 23:Close to many restaurants, comfortable bed, helpful staff at entrance.
Review 24:Car park charge £25,flat rate but multi story very close. Breakfast £18. Poor choice of music and radio channels via in room tv, unless you pay extra. Higher rate than nearby hotels, but I don't know what they are like and this was very good. All minor gripes, considering an overall very enjoyable stay.
Review 25:Friendly and efficient welcome at reception. Superb location for the Symphony Hall (has connecting bridge), Rep Theatre and museums. Spacious room with canal view. Excellent air con in room. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Friendly and helpful bar staff with good cocktails and not too expensive, considering location and class of hotel. Standard check out is 12:00. Spa good but no better than those at other hotels of similar standard. Helpful concierge
Review 26:Staff on the lounge part!!! Rude! Made no attempt to take order for coffees, too much trouble, then, when half way through coffee, some one comes over and says "I'll bring your bill!!" We no this is a top hotel, I haven't finished and I will ask for the bill thank you! Made to feel in the way.
Review 27:Reception staff very friendly and welcoming,
Review 28:The breakfast was £20 person and most the hot food was cold recommend going to Lloyd's bar next door hot good and will be a lot less then £20 disappoined ?
Review 29:The hotel best hotel in broad St decor staff and the rooms excellent
Review 30:If you had paid such a price i thought it a check to have to pay £20 in a car park not that close.
Review 31:Staff were very helpful and the VIP lounge was better than any room. Nice decor.
Review 32:Fantastic location, lovely rooms with everything you needed and upgraded to a view of city, breakfast and wifi with special offer available on day. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 33:Bathroom dated & shower which we had to put on high before it came out warm but then was way to powerful It would shoot out the holder because of this. Also the breakfast was overpriced so we chose to eat elsewhere
Review 34:Spa & location
Review 35:Not being told when going into breakfast that they would be clearing away 10 mins later. A warning before we went in would help
Review 36:The attentiveness to us
Review 37:Excellent location for our evening event at the ICC. The Club floor and lounge was excellent with tea and coffee throughout the day and the alcohol and canapés in the evening and breakfast in morning although it did get extremely busy.
Review 38:The pool was a little too cool. There was a crack in the bathroom sink. The room doors weren't very easy to open.
Review 39:The receptionist (? Jinna) was lovely on our arrival. The views from our room. When our taxi didn't arrive on the evening we were going to see the ballet, one of your employees drove us to The Hippodrome in the hotel minibus
Review 40:As we were going to a concert at the Symphony Hall, the fact that we were able to go over the bridge without going outside on a rainy cold night was wonderful. Lovely atmosphere and the hotel is very well looked after. As it was Christmas the skating rink and ferris wheel opposite in the square made it very atmospheric.
Review 41:The staff were very helpful nothing any trouble. The hotels location was idle for the perpus of our trip.
Review 42:The price of breakfast in my opinion is far to expensive. We found a nice little place away from the hotel and looking at how busy it was, so did a lot of other people!!
Review 43:Everything. The location was was excellent and the hotel is one of the best ones I have stayed in for a long time.
Review 44:Or room wasnt ready had to wait until 3.30pm. Most of the staff were foreign and didnt understand what we were asking
Review 45:The location fantastic andstaff all looked very smart
Review 46:Twin room beds are quite small. Price was a little steep but in all fairness it was a Friday night
Review 47:Really friendly staff, great location - Would stay again.
Review 48:Pool was too cold! Breakfast very expensive / there are plenty of places close by with much better value breakfasts on offer.
Review 49:Lovely hotel. Nice, clean rooms and very comfy beds. Pool/spa facilities are great. Staff were very polite and friendly. Great location.
Review 50:The view was spoilt by current construction work going on in the city which was dissapointing as it was our first stay at the Hyatt Regency and was a special occassion.
Review 51:Our Kingroom room had an amazing panoramic view facing the Big Wheel and winter skate and the german market, the room lovely and the bed very comfortable, the floor to ceiling windows is an excellent feature. The Reception staff were so friendly and helpful and the buffett breakfast was outstanding.
Review 52:I requested a high floor for my girlfriends birthday as a surprise but the staff went about and beyond to make the experience even better, we were given a fantastic high floor room with a view of the German market plus the staff left a slice of strawberry cheesecake with happy birthday written in the place in chocolate. what a lovely touch and really made my girlfriends birthday very special.
Review 53:Drinks in the bar were excessively expensive!!! £9.75 for a GLASS of Merlot wine is way beyond any price we've ever paid anywhere. Also the price of breakfast is too expensive!!
Review 54:Beautiful hotel, helpful and friendly staff and very good location when going to see a show at symphony hall
Review 55:All wa good
Review 56:At first it seemed a bit of a way away from the centre, but when we worked out where we were we found it was very central to everything we needed to see and do. Staff were excellent Room was very good Breakfast was great
Review 57:The glue on the back of the wardrobe door where a full length mirror should have been. The door key was a bit temperamental. The bar and restaurant is very pric, but there are loads of other places to eat and drink right beside the hotel.
Review 58:Room was lovely. Staff friendly. View of library at night wonderful.
Review 59:Bath filled with water and didnt go down for a while. Drain may be blocked. Excellent service by staff
Review 60:Friendly staff, friend forgot pyjamas and staff went out of way to dind pair, food, room.
Review 61:The fan on the A/C unit kept me awake most of the night. The Shower leaked badly on to the floor making it very dangerous. Wasn't particularly impressed when the waitress at breakfast gave a huge bowl of cooked mushrooms to one guest then when another guest and I asked for mushrooms we were told we couldn't have any. At £18 per head I thought this was pretty bad.
Review 62:The location was fantastic. Door and reception staff were very polite and helpful.
Review 63:A shower curtain in addition to the shower screen in the bathrooms could be considered as without one the water sprays everything in the bathroom when you take a shower. Also, there was only one robe and pair of slippers in 2112.
Review 64:The staff made the experience and Diana on reception and Anca and Alexandra in the Aria Brassiere were all superb.
Review 65:No car park on site. Had to drive a mile away and walk back in the pouring rain. Gym smaller than expected. A bit pricey compared to other hotels with car parks in situ. Bathroom dated. The walk back to the car with suitcases in the rain didn't help in my opinion of the hotel either.
Review 66:The room size. Comfy bed. Front reception staff welcoming and friendly.
Review 67:Food and minibar a bit pricey, but I suppose to be expected In a high quality hote.
Review 68:Fantastic, friendly staff. Lovely food. Perfect location. Comfy bed. Just perfect.
Review 69:Advertised as car parking facilities: Upon arrival turned away from car park and told to use a nearby car park. All car parks were full so had to park on the street to which a maximum stay of 2 hours, meant many returned visits to top the parking tickets.
Review 70:Booked family room , but had double room ,would have been happier if I cd have had family room or slightly larger which I did order
Review 71:Enjoyed the pool facility. Very helpful on the front door the men were really helpful .
Review 72:Ordered drinks and a bar snack in the bar. Drinks arrived AFTER the Whitebait had been cooked, served and eaten. Went up to the barman when the food arrived. His excuse? "I must have been distracted" Not good enough the bar was empty.
Review 73:Friendliness and helpfulness of reception staff.
Review 74:Very noisy disturbed nights sleep. Room faced onto Broad Street and there were cars, taxis, people outside til 4am plus what appeared to be a group of performance cars revving and circuiting regularly around the block.
Review 75:Actual hotel very pleasant and staff on the whole helpful and cheerful
Review 76:Room would benefit from a paint but can't complain
Review 77:Staff, food, regency club excellent, location, club breakfast, great view of canals, pool, sauna, steam
Review 78:The two Lamborghinis that were allowed to drive in and out of the lobby revving and revving completely ruining the evening because its all we could hear from the room. extremely disappointed!
Review 79:The room was beautiful and the pool facilities were immaculate. Staff were very helpful and polite. could have been perfect.
Review 80:Noisy. Can hear the clubs at 3am (we were on the 16th floor) and was struggling to fall asleep.
Review 81:I loved everything about this hotel. Lovely stuff and room. Good location in centre.
Review 82:The staff were amazing, we booked for one night for our anniversary, the staff made the room so lovely, they put rose petals on the bed and left us some champagne in the room. It was such a lovely touch, we have already booked to go back in december, the room and the spa was just perfect. we loved our stay thank you so much. Dionne & Matt x
Review 83:The staff in the bar were not welcoming, seemed distracted and lacked enthusiasm. Would have appreciated a children's menu, food not reall suited to young children. Also, it was an unacceptable waiting time for food to arrive (during the day, 12 ish) no apology from male bar person and no checking if we were happy. It seemed like we were an interruption to his work, not the purpose of it.
Review 84:The well trained staff, their excellent attitude towards children and the location.
Review 85:Pool, room quality, staff, location was central
Review 86:Very friendly staff who carried out our requests before we got to hotel. They also offered a cheaper location for parking (even though they lost money on their hotel parkibg). Rooms and pool were very nice. Nice atmosphere in lounge area.
Review 87:Only bad experience was the hotel having no record of my booking made via booking.com
Review 88:Great pool and spa facilities and easy access to Brindley Place. Staff very helpful.
Review 89:The duvet's were very lumpy (this also suggests they are washed regularly, I suppose). The rooms were slightly cold and found it difficult to regulate the temperature. We could have asked for staff assistance but didn't. The views were dismal, looking out to construction sites. The pool and "spa" area could do with updating, it was nowhere near what the pictures on website looked like. The hotel could also do with better sound proofing. Overally for an overnight stay it was comfortable enough and handy to access all the areas in the city centre we needed to get to.
Review 90:The staff were friendly and helpful. Arrived early and allowed to check in. The hotel is very clean too. The breakfast buffett was top notch and very delicious.
Review 91:Breakfast should have been included in the package.
Review 92:I like the fact that the Hotel has all I wanted, the gym, pool, spa and all to enjoy the short break. Would like to visit again and again
Review 93:When we went to get into bed we pulled the sheets back to find there was dried blood inside and on the outside of the sheets which we were discussed to find. We took pictures and believe why was this not noticed when making the bed.
Review 94:Hi, we have emailed you with our poor stay at the Hyatt birmigham
Review 95:Being advised at Check in about the local marathon that was taking place on the following day 18/10/15 which I found was not acceptable as I was not given the chance to find another place of accommodation considering I was traveling from London which was 3 hours Drive. The marathon commenced from early with a street full of hundreds of people inside & outside of my hotel this woke me & my partner up with LOUD music at 7:15am coming from the street. We also had difficultly parking the night before because of this event, which meant I had to fork out another £20 for onsite parking.
Review 96:The concierge staff were lovely & very helpful in pointing out local places that we could go to.
Review 97:The executive lounge on the 23rd floor was spaced out poorly. The pool was cold and there was nowhere to sit at breakfast so we had a drink and left. We had to park streets away.
Review 98:Comfy bed
Review 99:Our room was fabulous, excellent bathroom, very clean . We had a city view , when dark ,the view amazingly vibrant and interesting . Great location for theaters .
Review 100:Bathroom was fine but the toilet roll was very thin and rough and felt cheap
Review 101:Reception staff welcoming, pleasant and helpful Calling a taxi was very simple Breakfast was very nice Room was nicely presented
Review 102:We had a city view room but there were alot of road works so there wasnt much to look at.
Review 103:Great location, the pool and spa were lovely. Friendly staff, king room was spacious and comfy.
Review 104:Birmingham is a NIGHTMARE due to the amount of roadworks and redevelopment. Even walking around is difficult. I gave my bank card as a guarantee for the room, £150 was "put on hold" for the room so I was told, it was actually taken from my account. We paid for the room in cash. Over a week later this money had still not been refunded and I had to call the hotel to get this done.
Review 105:Huge room. Fantastic spa. Fantastic afternoon tea.
Review 106:The roadworks in Birmingham meant it took us an hour to find the car park that it was suggested we used. When we arrived there was only 1 English breakfast tea bag as one of the mugs was cracked but staff were quick to fix the issue for us.
Review 107:Lovely hotel with lovely staff and the pool and gym facilities were fantastic.
Review 108:The price of the mini bar! No free biscuits in room! Pool area poor compared to other hotels we have stayed in! Take £40 out in advance incase we were to use the mini bar!! With those prices you are having a laugh!!
Review 109:The room
Review 110:Pleasant welcome! Great reception/bar/dining area - spacious, comfortable and contemporary. Perfect bedroom - everything we could want - fluffy towels, hairdryer, iron and board, tea and coffee making facilities, milk in the fridge and usual mini bar drinks. Amazing comfortable bed with a great nights sleep.Fabulous view from the 21st floor, over the canal. Great breakfast - plenty of choice. Eggs cooked to order. Fresh and well presented. 10/10 - perfect!
Review 111:My room wasn't ready at 4 30pm, I was told it would be available in 20mins and if I would sit in the foyer I would be advised when it was ready. No one came to tell me and I was sat by reception. After an hour and cup of coffee I went to reception and the room was ready but no one had bothered to let me know. It was 5 40 when I finally got in my room. Not acceptable.
Review 112:People watching.
Review 113:Too strong chlorine in 'spa' area, dodgy plug socket in room which was dangerous; room not very clean and shoddy finish
Review 114:Concierge very helpful and friendly
Review 115:1 bathrobe when I booked the room for 2 Bed was not up to standard for a hotel like the Hyatt. Duvets quite lumpy on both beds looked like the bed had been quickly done. Room service food was cold not appetising not worth the money we paid 1 shower cap instead of two Noisy busy area could hear drunk people and ambulances till the early hours of the morning
Review 116:Staff welcoming and explained things well
Review 117:The staff were very helpful and friendly. My room was lovely with a very comfortable bed. The hotel was quiet so sleep was undisturbed. Good location close to NIA and canal with nice bars and restaurants.
Review 118:Would have like more selections on room service menu. But, overall was good.
Review 119:The staff was ver friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room service was fast and efficient.
Review 120:The pillows were very soft..which was uncomfortable. Also breakfast that we ordered wasn't up the good standard we have experienced, having stayed on two previous occasions.
Review 121:Fantastic location and views from the hotel room - breathtaking. The staff was friendly and helpful- as always. Chocolate strawberries and cheesecakes, put a lovely touch to our stay as it our anniversary.
Review 122:The decaf coffee I had with my breakfast was quite vile. The pool surface was quite slippy. I felt slightly cautious walking around the pool.
Review 123:Every member of staff was pleasant and courteous. The style of the room is fresh, modern and makes you want to stay in all day just to enjoy it!
Review 124:I wanted the breakfast in bed package. The member of staff at the desk didn't tell me where the breakfast card was located, when it needed to be signed by and where to hand it in. So in the morning I called reception and was told I had to come downstairs for breakfast.
Review 125:The view from our room on the 21st floor was amazing.
Review 126:I can hear person in other room snoring! So annoying u can hear everything happens in other rooms Plus Bathroom needed maintenance
Review 127:Connection to ICC Friendly staff
Review 128:Menu choice in the restaurant was limited for vegetarians
Review 129:Convenient location, lovely views of the city, polite and efficient staff and nicely decorated.
Review 130:It wasn't a bad experience as such. Paid for a room upgrade and couldn't really see what we had gained extra from a standard room.
Review 131:Great location. Friendly staff. All round good place to stay.
Review 132:We didn't have our breakfast at the hotel. At £17 each we felt it was too expensive for the amount we would be able to eat. We had a drink at the bar area in the evening though and it was very nice and reasonably priced.
Review 133:The hotel was beautiful. The room we were in on the 15th floor was very spacious and clean. The spa, swimming pool and gym in the hotel were all brilliant. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. We will definitely stay again.
Review 134:Nothing
Review 135:Visited with family for my daughters graduation Everything we asked for before had been arranged We ordered flowers and they put them in her room nothing was too much trouble From Reception and even the Concierge were very Professional Rooms lovely and well stocked with good views of city Didn't eat here so can't comment But overall fantastic service well done Hyatt Regency :))
Review 136:Maid walking in our room without knocking and seeing me naked in the bath. Also my wife had just finished her shower wearing only a towel.I felt violated to say the least.
