Reviews for Résidence de l'Europe

Review 1:I don't know where to start... We arrived around 9pm after a longdrive, with a toddler of 1y 6m. My son was very hungry, needed a bath, adinner, and some sleep. I had booked this apt because it had a kitchen, and seemed like good value for the money.Well, first the apartment is WAY SMALLER than depicted on the pictures here (think: small double bed in the middle of a living room with an open kitchen). There is one bedroom, which is closed with a key and unaccessible. Second, there was a strong smell of cheap chemicals, presumably what they used to mop the floors that morning. The apartment had been closed all day, so as soon as we opened the door we really could not bear staying inside. My wife and I felt dizzy, started to develop a headache and had sore throats in less than 10 minutes (all signs of chemical poisoning). Our son was sneezing and had red eyes. We called a number that was printed on the apartment brochure, for "emergencies". Because of course there is no reception, and no one to help after 8pm. Well, the person who answered didn't speak any English, and hung up on us 3 times. Wi-fi didn't work in the apartment, so we could check any other numbers to call. I made the decision to just leave and get my family into a regular hotel where there is a minimum of quality assurance. We spent over 140 euro to sleep at a hotel 3 blocks away, the first really that we came about. My toddler son needed food and sleep, and it was now almost 11pm. I STRONGLY ADVISE against using this apartment, even though is very cheap, cheapness comes at a price. There is no quality assurance, people don't speak English, and moreover they don't care about your well being. They now stopped replying to my emails, I tried contacting them to get my money refunded for all these troubles to no avail. They should really get delisted from the site in my opinion.

Review 2:Staff was friendly, until I had problems with the apartment. Then, theywere non-responsive. (Read "What I Didn't Like")

Review 3:We stayed during a period of unusually hot weather with the temperature 35 deg C every day. The apartments do not have air conditioning so it was a case of opening windows and balcony doors - unfortunately the property is at a cross-roads of two busy roads with traffic lights so the traffic noise was an issue - but we were assured the heat was very unusual for August!

Review 4:The property is about 5 minutes walk from the main shopping areas, the Thermal Baths, the Opera and the Park de Vichy. It is less than 2 minutes from the Lac de l'Allier with its running paths, cycle paths and beaches with a couple of restaurants. There was a small boulangerie only 5 mins walk away. The apartment was a good size with modern facilities but the furnishing were a little "spartan" for an extended stay.

Review 5:Would have like air conditioning and electric kettle otherwise well appointed

Review 6:Unit is elderly persons rest home. Awaiting sale on leased out. Unit well presented and very central. Parking a useful add on

Review 7:The bed was a very small double and very low. A full length mirror would be useful. Cleaning apparatus needs an overhaul !!Mop and bucket are very nearly dead. Disadvantage that there wasn't a restaurant in staggering distance.!

Review 8:Fortunately, we saw a previous review that told us to Look for OREE DES THERMES ! We found the apartment very convenient for us, a very elderly couple, reasonably well equipped kitchen area, spacious dining and sitting area, with large sofa bed. Good walk in shower. Decent sized bedroom. Excellent secure garage with lift .

Review 9:Nothing bad to say at all .

Review 10:The room was just perfect for a short break and we would have no problem staying for a week or more. Great to have a balcony , and a kitchen with fridge , hob and plenty of utensils etc The bed was super comfortable and super clean as was the whole establishment . The location is perfect for walking around Vichy centre and just a short walk to the plan d'eau and promenades around the beach areas along the river. Staff were very helpful , I mentioned a problem with the wifi and it was sorted out in no time at all . Would recommend to one & all .

Review 11:Used to different pillows at home, so pillows were not as supportive as used to.

Review 12:With our son being in a wheelchair the venue provided all accessibility requirements. Well equipped apartment for cooking and great staff who where willing to assist in any way they could. Shower was perfect for our requirements.

Review 13:The apartment block is a little hard to find as, while you book on the web as Residence de l'Europe, the sign on the block says Oree des Thermes. An A4 sheet stuck on to a window displays the booking name. Odd!

Review 14:The apartment is just a short walk into the centre of town. It is modern and has all you need for a stay of a few nights, including a comfortable bed. We preferred this apartment to a cheap hotel room.

Review 15:Shame that no english tv channels available.qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq

Review 16:Comfortable and bright flat. Good underground parking. Well stocked kitchen drawers eg utensils, cutlery and crockery. Easy entrance via side door so not necessary to always go through reception area.

Review 17:Wifi could be better, a bit on the pricy side.

Review 18:Spacious, nicely furnished, balcony, modern building.

Review 19:No AC

Review 20:Just basic equipment- if that!

Review 21:Location, calm, peaceful, parking availability.

Review 22:the fee of 10Euros for the dog per night is very high.

Review 23:The room was very spacious and practical Parking

Review 24:Wi fi kept failing

Review 25:Comfort and space was great Close to city center

Review 26:Location

Review 27:Sparsely furnished. Uncomfortable up-right 'easy' chairs. No wi-fi (borrowed ethernet cable). Unreliable TV chanels. No on site laundry. Shower room being wet-room style. Extractor fan noisy. No balcony furniture. No iron. All rooms are for sale to 'Seniors' as full-time community living and only rented as hotel rooms until sold - hence sparse furniture and bathroom suitable for wheelchairs.

Review 28:Location was good. Apartment was very large. Self catering with good kitchen utensils and pots, coffee machine but no kettle. Onsite parking. Drying rack for hand washed laundry.

Review 29:I won't come back...:(

Review 30:We arrived to the residence, and right away we didn't fell welcoming, the manager tell us that the residence was for seniors and My son needs to be quiet all the time, the lady was very rude. Thank god there was a new receptionist how was very friendly and nice to us. I

Review 31:I did not like that we were not told when booking that this is actually a retirement residence! Not great when you have teenage children. The front desk closes @ 6pm. Luckily we checked in before then otherwise we would not have been able to get in. There was no wi-fi in the rooms. When we first arrived there was none available anywhere. You need wi-fi for travellers use. Though the accommodation was fine I was very annoyed at not being told the truth about this residence when booking!!

Review 32:The residence had just opened so it was clean.

Review 33:After 7 pm nobody is available in case of problems. Bar was not open.

Review 34:New, fully equipped apartment with a lot of space and good location nearby the center. We stayed for one night while travelling to Spain.

Review 35:This hotel is not finished! Partial building site inside and out. Werenot informed parking was not available as not finished despite requeston booking. Was not told reservation was needed for breakfast so therewas none available. Reception closed at 7pm, no bar or restaurantfacilities open.

Review 36:The two bedroom suite was large and well appointed. The hotel is closeto the town centre

Review 37:Clean and friendly staff. Huge rooms and fully equipped

Review 38:Spacious room
