Reviews for Lagrange Confort + Les Chalets d'Ax
Review 1:The appartments were smaller than how they were advertised on their website. Their spar room wasn't operative. The complex was positioned by a main highway with heavy traffic & large lorries thundering pass, this didn't make it relaxing sitting out on the balcony.
Review 2:The staff were friendly & helpful
Review 3:Road noise.
Review 4:Stylish apartment, cleverly designed to maximise space. We had a studio for two people. The sofa bed was surprisingly very comfortable. The hammam and jacuzzi were nice, only one of each though so I imagine will be busy in season. We were aware so no surprise to us that the apartments are right on a very busy road, the road does quieten later at night and the double glazing is very good so our sleep wasn't disturbed. You will be disturbed sitting on your balcony though, especially if your apartment balcony overlooks the road! Wifi available in reception which closes at 7pm. All in all, a great studio just a 7-8 minute walk out of town.
Review 5:Making up and taking down the bed, putting the sheets in a special place by reception, the wifi was not available in the room. it was also very hard to find.
Review 6:Nice place in the woods, pretty view from the room and an easy walk into town. the kitchen was quite good enough, sufficient plates etc, and the bathroom, though small, had lovely hot water.
Review 7:There's no bed but a couch that can be turned into a bed. Youcan't really sit on the bed as this will make the whole thing flip. It's also not comfortable as a couch (arm rests are incredibly hard)nor as a bed (we kept rolling to the middle). The kitchen is equipped with appliances but nothing disposable: there's a dishwasher but no tablets, there are salt and pepper sprinklers - but they're empty, there is a drying rack but no washing liquid or sponge/brush. Not event a teabag. The SPA is a big Jacuzzi with a sauna and steam room. The cold shower is open and only gives a miserable stream, hardly enough for just rinsing your face. There's also no dressing room and only one shower without a lock. There's a nice bus services to the ski lifts, however, the bus is at 8.15 and the bread gets delivered in the morning at 8.00 (reception doesn't open before that) so you'll have to pick up and eat your breakfast in top speed as the bus doesn't wait.
Review 8:Staff was nice and the bakery service allows you to buy fresh bread inthe morning (order the night before)
Review 9:Hotel staff were a bit slow in clearing snow in the car park which meant parking was rather tricky. Mind you, the snow was relentless so maybe I'm being unfair?
Review 10:This is the second we have stayed here; it's comfortable and well kitted out. OK, it's not the closest hotel to the town or the gondola but only a 12 minute walk so no complaints there.
Review 11:Our room smelt of cigarette smoke, we complained on arrival for the lady to tell us that people are not meant to smoke in the rooms but they do .... she offered us an air freshener.
Review 12:We liked the location, parking was simple. The local town was lovely as were the thermal baths.
Review 13:We chose the hotel for a night stopover whilst travelling. It was ideally located on our journey around the Pyrenees. I did not expect the hotel and local town to be as good as we found. The hotel room had great facilities and there were plenty of nice restaurants in the town. There were several public thermal foot spas in the town, with boiling water, where people sat chilling out with their feet in the spa.
Review 14:If you like Pontins, you'll love this: Make own beds; strip bed and empty own bins afterwards; some rooms don't even have beds, just a sofa bed. Reception closed 12-4 & after 7pm: not much use!
Review 15:Option to change room. Cheap and cheerful, at least it was open, most of the town was closed in late Sept. Self catering facilities good. Decent balcony.
Review 16:Staff a bit frosty. Beds very basic for our needs. Walls quite thin, so noise could be a problem depending on your neighbours behaviour.
Review 17:Good location just outside town. Quiet and peaceful. Clean and good facilities (although the swimming pool was closed when we visited due to poor weather).
Review 18:Checkin times were a bit of a pain and it would have been nice if there was a few basics for sale on site. But these are minor niggles and would recommend this hotel
Review 19:Very clean and modern apartments, with facilities for everything you might need. Balcony faced the road which was a bit noisey but windows kept the sound out. Location - on the outskirts of town. You can walk via the road or there is a path through the woods to get to town.
Review 20:hot water switches off each day and has to be reset
Review 21:controlled hot water
Review 22:nice equipment
Review 23:Very basic
Review 24:Proximity to town
Review 25:The room was very hot as the air conditioning did not work and we had to make our own bed sheets.
Review 26:Lovely swimming pool.
Review 27:Having to dress the beds. small television in poor location
Review 28:Nice apartment
Review 29:Wifi should be free all the time. Use if sauna was limited.
Review 30:Great location, spacious and friendly staff
Review 31:spa was colder than you'd like; kitchen had no coffee or anything including dish soap to wash dishes;
Review 32:good beds, nice view, friendly helpful staff
Review 33:noise from road office closed from 12 to 4pm, staff not helpful when my daughter was sick
Review 34:No hot water to take shower after 6 pm everyday , incredible.
Review 35:Nice place confortable with beautifull view of mountains . Staff smily .
Review 36:Accommodations bit cramped for suggested nr of guests but usual for french apartment.
Review 37:Ax les thermes is a nice town worth a visit
Review 38:It was a glorified youth hostel, nothing more elaborate.
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:After staying at this hotel two times this summer I think we will be back next year!
Review 41:There were a group staying there who were playing loud music until gone 2am - not very happy with them.
Review 42:It is in a perfect spot for skiing. Lovely apartment, spacious and well equipped.
Review 43:In a perfect world, it would have been closer to the town centre but, for us, it was a 12 minute walk to the gondola so really, no deal-breaker.
Review 44:We dealt mostly with receptionist, Nickolas. He was very helpful at all times, a ready smile and nothing was too much effort. One of our group, unfortunately, lost a wallet and he helped us with phone calls and did everything possible. The other lady (name forgotten) was equally helpful and pleasant. We liked almost everything about the place - warm, loads of hot water, great parking. Will certainly return!
Review 45:Could have done with complimentary tea/coffee in rooms perhaps. Sofa bed was very very noisy, springs creaked all night, second night put mattress on floor and slept there.
Review 46:Friendly staff, changed rooms for us when we didn't like the first room. Bread ordering service from reception :) Close (ish) to town centre, although in rain probably a bit too far to walk. Rooms very warm, which was great after a days skiing.
Review 47:Misleading distance from town centre, sat nav co-ordinates are wrong onmap so had trouble finding hotel to start with. 4Pm check in time is abit late, and early 10 am departure time.
Review 48:Chalet well equipped & furnished, bed comfortable, fine for budget.Staff helpful and all ok for us.
Review 49:Although, the apartments are not far from the centre of Ax Les Thermes, it is a little tricky to walk in to town for restaurants in the evening because there are no paths on the first part of the route.
Review 50:Good stopping off point for journey to Alicante, Spain from Caen.
Review 51:Spa: Dirty, too small for number of residents. Sauna out of order Location: far from center, noisy with many trucks and cars
Review 52:Clean and modern design Kitchen well equipped
Review 53:We were very nicely surprised the staff went out of there way for all our needs . Very basic but all you required was there,in fact the double bed quite comfortable.
Review 54:Our reservation via booking.com did not transfer to their system so theywere unaware of our booking or arrival.
Review 55:The staff were excellent and went out of their way to improve our stay. They offered a free Hammam due to a booking mix up, recommendedrestaurants and were generally helpful whatever we needed.
Review 56:Sauna and Hamman by appointment only. Jacuzzi not always open. Limited hotel services - we paid extra to have beds made. This is apparantly how the French like their apartment stays but unusual for Americans. Out of town - needed car for skiing and restaurants. One ski bus a day from hotel door.
Review 57:Clean and new apartment. Plenty of kitchen equipment. Separate bunk room for kids.
Review 58:Cold shower, spa pool small and bit cold, sauna and hassan out ofaction.
Review 59:Balcony, new modern
Review 60:Excellent facilities although a bed rather than a sofa bed would have been good. The sofa was comfortable though. Staff were very helpful.
Review 61:Wi-fi only available in lobby, not in rooms. Sofa bed not very comfortable
Review 62:Location, free parking and wi-fi, view, balcony
Review 63:Bed was uncomfortable
Review 64:Nice style
Review 65:No corkscrew lol
Review 66:Tranquil. Good facilities.
Review 67:Great location and within walking distance of town and Access to facilities
Review 68:Hot water Balloon too low above head in toilet.
Review 69:Pleasant staff. good prices
Review 70:Location map wrong, much further from centre than illustrated. Noseparate bedroom.
Review 71:Clean, good facilities.
