Reviews for East Lodge Country House Hotel
Review 1:Nothing at all apart from the weather and the car park being dimly lit!
Review 2:Just a one night stay at a very busy time when the hotel was full just before Christmas. We knew we were only getting a small room, but the duty manager couldn't have been more helpful although he was at full stretch- carrying our bags to the room and having a joke with us on arrival. He continued to acknowledge us through the evening- we sat in the bar as he whizzed backwards and forwards to and from the full dining room. At around 10 pm we began to feel peckish and I tentatively enquired if we could get something like cheese and biscuits, even though we weren't dining there. A pleasant young woman went off to check with the (poor) kitchen staff at the end of their shift and returned with an exceptionally decent cheese board! The breakfast the following morning was outstandingly good and the whole experience delightful, even though it rained solidly the whole time. We will definitely return to East Lodge- probably in the spring, and hope to get a larger room and make sure we book in for an evening meal. Big shout out to Chris ( I think his name was) for doing a brilliant job. Friendly staff really do make for a stand out hotel break.
Review 3:Everything. Staff were fantastic. Room was spacious, well furnished and very comfortable. Liked the TV in the bathroom. The teddy bear is a nice touch too. Had dinner there and it was lovely and very good value.
Review 4:We came back after going out for dinner and sat in the garden room bar. We were sat for about 30 minutes and saw no staff, no one offered us a drink so we went up to room.
Review 5:The room was amazing! TV in the bath - the height of decadence! Beautiful hotel.
Review 6:None! My sat nav decided to take me all the way around the back of the hotel which was fairly distressing in the dark as a solo traveller, as the roads are particularly narrow and unlit! But this had no reflection on the hotel. Once I arrived I was warmly welcomed and reassured and felt immediately at ease. Thank you for such a great stay! I have already recommended to friends and family.
Review 7:Everything was fantastic. - extremely friendly and attentive staff - excellent room service and food to a very high standard - breakfast lovely and well worth paying for - large homely room with excellent facilities and great bath - beautiful garden lit up at night - perfect distance for Chatsworth
Review 8:Was ok but room not over clean! Disappointed! Also an alarm kept going off through the night! We didnt sleep at all. Shame as it was a surprise wknd 50th birthday for my partner. Wanted to look at the Wedding Package too! L. Bradshaw.
Review 9:TV reception was awful ended up turning it off.The bedhead reading light was faulty as the end of it was missing which I thought was dangerous, the receptionist was told about this and he said no one had noticed it..last of all was the major draft coming through the bedroom and bathroom window frames,..so thought this made the price a bit high.
Review 10:Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and the room was beautiful with an outstanding view..
Review 11:The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and had excellent facilities and views. The hotel was well located with lovely grounds and plentiful parking. The food was excellent.
Review 12:Absolutely nothing!!
Review 13:The staff were tremendous ...starting with a warm welcome at the door continuing throughout an excellent lunch and topped off by attentive dinner service rounded off with nightcaps in front of the fire...second to none.
Review 14:All the staff were very friendly Our evening meal was superb Nothing was too much trouble Lovely decor Very clean Ideal location if visiting Chatsworth which is why we chose it Would definately recommend and we will return
Review 15:Although the breakfast was good it was very expensive ( only had it once!).I hadn't realised that it wasn't included in the price when l booked. Lighting was poor in the room.
Review 16:Food at evening meal was excellent. Canapés were free. Beautiful surroundings. Friendly staff.
Review 17:Loved friendly but professional staff . And the location was just perfect for myself and my partner Will definitely use this hotel again and would recommend to anyone. Thanks again
Review 18:Terrible food because it just did not meet expectations. For that price I expect succulance and a desire to have the next mouthful. Not a dryish, very small portion.
Review 19:Warm welcome. Nice room. Would have been super if the staff had also seen us off with the same friendliness.
Review 20:Breakfast was a bit slow but freshly cooked and delicious when it came.
Review 21:Lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Fabulous room with proper sofa and armchair and bed was really comfortable.
Review 22:cooked english breakfast, somewhat slow and a little greasy. Bedstead a bit creaky!
Review 23:The location, room facilities and cleanliness, evening meal, staff, all very good
Review 24:The room we were allocated wasn't good at all. The lighting was very poor so hard to put makeup on in the evening as couldn't see. No plug socket near anywhere with a mirror so couldn't see to dry my hair. Tea/coffee tray was in wardrobe and there was nowhere really convenient to put it that was near a plug. So had to put kettle on floor to boil which of course is a safety issue. Heating went off early so room was freezing. TV didn't work and the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied from previous guests so had dirty personal items in it. Not nice!!!
Review 25:Location
Review 26:Wine very expensive Breakfast also expensive - especially as we thought it was included in the room rate!
Review 27:Reception staff were excellent. Room was very comfortable - and included sky sports which is unusual. Evening meal was to a high standard
Review 28:The room we eventually got (14) although excellent did not have the full package promised on tv (no movies or sport channels). The price of breakfast??We always look forward to breakfast but were not prepared to pay that amount.

Review 32:I was in room 6 which had a view of an area of the roof covered with astro -turf and a kitchen ventilator. Noisy until the vent was turned off at around half 11 in the evening.
Review 33:Lovely location and very friendly staff.
Review 34:I booked a superior room with a safety deposit box. There was no box so had to carry all valuables on days out. The room was a DISABLED persons room. I didn't get what I booked. My decision is not to stay here again.
