Reviews for Premier Inn Margate
Review 1:The hotel is less than a two minute walk from the station. The staff were all very friendly and quite accommodating. The room was clean and the bed quite comfortable.
Review 2:The facilities are excellent a very clean hotel and always a warm welcome by staff. Bed is really comfy. I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times and this time I brought my grandsons with me and they loved it.
Review 3:We didn't like the reception being in the centre, it makes more sense to be in the front of the building. More signs pointing the way to the reception would be good in my opinion.
Review 4:It was close, very close to the train station. It was close to the party we were invited too. Shops were close as well.
Review 5:An excellent location if travelling by train as it is very near the station. The room was clean, beds comfy and a duvet that was actually big enough! We ate in the restaurant and found the food to be very good. All staff were very helpful and I would certainly stay at Premier Inn Margate again.
Review 6:Room not very warm ,had to repeatedly increase thermostat, which kept reverting to a lower temperature after a short while, also no heating in the bathroom,
Review 7:Friendly staff ,location good and very comfortable bed ,easy access to dining area
Review 8:Brewers fayre not very good with meal deal purchased from premier inn , they could understand what it was and would not swap items on menu without extra charge so therefore wasted food and nowhere else near to eat
Review 9:The rooms are over priced room 118 was noisy and the heat from restaurant ducking made the room unbearably hot.
Review 10:The Location is close to local shops and theatres parking is on the site and the restaurant is convenient and serves good food.
Review 11:The appearance of the carpet and net curtains was rather tatty and the windows weren't clean so the sea view was rather obscured. The hot water did not always run in the basin.
Review 12:The location next to the station is good and it is central making the old town easily accessible on foot. The room was a fair size.
Review 13:Room stiflingly hot, beds too hard. Dinner took half an hour to arrive, after a reminder.
Review 14:Excellent location, plenty of own parking, smiling staff, sea views, quiet.
Review 15:Dinner wasn't very good, My husband and I both had chicken, both different meals. The chicken was very dry and gravy very watery.During breakfast it felt that staff were very eager to have their breakfast and began clearing food away while guests were trying to enjoy their meal. I don't feel that staff were friendly at all.
Review 16:Bedroom facilities were very good. The bed very comfortable. Bedroom was very clean
Review 17:Food in attached pub average and plentiful but pretty basic. No brewed decaff coffee at breakfast.
Review 18:Great staff. Handy pub for food. Great location for Turner, Dreamland and Margate beach and town - all walkable in few minutes.
Review 19:There was only two things and I'd prefer if they weren't printed in my review: the tables in the bar always appeared sticky and our sheets/ bed linen were not changed even though we were there f three nights, only small things.
Review 20:There is a play centre and outside playground in the premier Inn margate which my children loved, food was very good, the breakfasts were great, all very fresh. They had different food themes on different nights, the curry night was fab and such great value, bedrooms are really comfortable and so clean. We will be back to stay there definitely, great location.
Review 21:Room very hot in the night even with window open without using the fan or aircon offered.Unfortunately with the window open, the base music from the brewers fayre could be heard from 6 am to late - as it travelled out via the ventilation. Could not be heard if we closed the window.
Review 22:Easy access without having to go into town centre, easy parking available, full range of meals available next door in brewers fayre throughout the day with soft play area for 6 year old.
Review 23:I wish the windows could have opened. It's at the guest's risk, surely, to decide whether they want to open them, rather than have the hotel decide for them. I like fresh 'real' air at night.
Review 24:Convenience.
Review 25:Really not sure about the quality of the breakfast.
Review 26:Reception staff were excellent as were most of the restaurant staff. The staff in the micro pob across the road were good fun and sold delightful beer.
Review 27:The staff in the restaurant were very stressed as they were short staff which meant at times quite a wait for various parts of the breakfast dishes. Also a wait for a table and a "Good morning" greeting would have been nice!
Review 28:The location of the Premier Inn suited us very well next to the station as we visited Canterbury and arrived back late at night. Also during the day we like to walk and it was very convenient for the sea front. Our room was very quiet even though we were so close to the station.
Review 29:As is usual with Premier Inns, duvets are too heavy and thick. A summer duvet (2 or 4 tog) would be nice. Also room on ground floor overlooking Margate Station so we could hear trains which fortunately stopped before bedtime. View of old town obscured by monstrous very sad looking council tower block. For sale sign on one occupant's window said £10. Architects should be struck off.
Review 30:lovely room in annex which looked recently built or refurbished
Review 31:Unfortunately, as we stayed during one of the hottest weekends, the room was much too hot - even with the two large fans in our room.
Review 32:The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful, particularly with regard to making my son with Autism feel welcome, included and at home.
Review 33:Only negative was that our room was situated above the bin/waste storage area. This area although for staff only to access, was not kept tidy when viewing from above - we could see broken furniture/items from our window above.
Review 34:Staff very friendly and helpful with any questions, queries about the area, requests, i.e for fresh milk for our tea. Car park always had spaces. Location ideal - right on sea front.
Review 35:No room to move in the family room. It just felt like a normal room with two other beds squeezed in...not really family sized..
Review 36:Nice room in the annexe part of the building.
Review 37:The town of Margate, not night life, couldn't wait to leave, not a good holiday spot anymore.
Review 38:Hotel OK, night life, rubbish, instead of staying a week,we keft the next morning, definitely not a holiday spot any more.
Review 39:Cleanliness wasn't great my bed wasn't the best to sleep on either. The cot bed was dirty also
Review 40:Staff was friendly enough although had to ask quite a few times to clean and get new towels
Review 41:The room was thoroughly inadequate and was extremely hot , even hotter than the outside temperature with a reading of 27.5 degrees , innsuficient space for clothes , storing anything or even moving around , the beds had been squashed into a room which was only fit as a double room with just about enough room for two people and not four , when we complained to reception we were told all rooms were the same size and that is what they did to call it a family room or quad room as we had booked , because of this we spent a minimum amount of time in the room . and as with two young children this made our stay very difficult and not an enjoyable experience , which would put doubts in my mind as whether to use either of your companies again .
Review 42:how close the hotel was to the town and beach .
Review 43:The Brewers fayre restaurant was disorganised, unclean and very poor food. Would NEVER book with premier inn again if affiliated to this restaurant chain.
Review 44:The room was comfortable and air conditioning good.
Review 45:Only a small problem. The bathroom door did not close properly and made a lot of noise when closing. Not very good in the middle of the night. Told reception and it was repaired
Review 46:location was great. we had room 4.This was on ground level looking over the sea front. Even being next to the train station never heard any noise. breakfast was help your self and there was a great selection.
Review 47:Not a lot of room between the beds, wouldn't really call it a family room. also it was really hot. even with 2 fans and the window open.
Review 48:The room was clean and close to Margate beach. The staff were all very friendly and made you feel welcome.
Review 49:Had a wonderful experience but just think a little overpriced as for the price have would love swimming/spa facilities added and it would be 11 out of 10!!!!
Review 50:Very helpful, friendly staff, excellent children's facilities in bar and restaurant area, room clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast delicious and plentiful.
Review 51:No bad experience. Just some more shelves and hanging space for clothes would be nice in a family room.
Review 52:Good location. Close to beach and town and very close to the station. Clean rooms with nice bathrooms.
Review 53:I had Goliath in the room above stomping all night long! I tried calling reception and no one answered. I complained and cancelled my second night the following day. The receptionist on the desk was hostile and I caught her talking about me when I came to check out. I was refunded without any problems but her tone towards me was vile.
Review 54:My bed
Review 55:My room overlooked the railway line. This didn't matter to me as I was only staying one night in order to see friends but may not have suited people on holiday for a few days/weeks.
Review 56:I have stayed here several times when visiting friends in the area and the fact of being next to the station is always a plus for convenience. This time I was in the newer separate block which was excellent. Décor, cleanliness first rate and I'm so pleased Premier Inn are moving away from 'everything purple'! Nice curtains with just one stripe of this colour! I also like the choice of pillows. Excellent TV and Wifi and really cannot fault it.
Review 57:Hotel is right across the road from the beach and close to town centre. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great. Will definitely visit again
Review 58:The free wiFi access was very poor and we would have enjoyed having bottles of water in the room.
Review 59:The bed, the shower and the cleanness and the smell of the room.
Review 60:we arrived and it was a warm day, they had drawn our curtains to keep the sun out but it made the room very hot. we had 2 fans running all night. very uncomfortable. we left curtains open and it allowed some fresh air to circulate
Review 61:location close to beach and train station. really nice staff and excellent food
Review 62:Typical Premier Inn Breakfast, I mean dry and oily. I wish more healthier options, for example fresh fruits instead of berry comport and canned fruits.
Review 63:Room and location
Review 64:Although the hotel was excellent, the seafront was awful.in much need of a facelift. The beach was lovely, very clean although the pool area was smelly.
Review 65:As stated previously the hotel was excellent. If I had to pick holes it would only be that the small reception area was like an oven, also you don't say when we booked that we would be right by the railway track.
Review 66:Room was very hot, even with a fan on, curtains drawn by day and windows open by night. We did arrive on a blisteringly hot weekend but it did make for an uncomfortable couple of nights sleeping for one of our party.
Review 67:Very conveniently placed in the centre of Margate, next door to the railway station, 2 min walk from the beach and 5 min walk from the shops. Dreamland is also right next door once it's properly open again. Room was clean and functional.
Review 68:The only little complaint was the speed of the wifi, but that's just a tiny criticism
Review 69:Room was large with air con and the usual comfortable bed . Good size bathroom with bath and shower. Meals good and staff very polite and helpful
Review 70:The wifi wasn't working during our stay.
Review 71:I stayed with a friend and her young son for one night. The location was excellent, it's right on the beach. In the brewers where you take your meals there was a play area for children which was fantastic. The room was lovely it had everything we needed for a good sleep.
Review 72:a little noisy as sound insulation inadequate from room above ours no air conditioning No room service available
Review 73:Room comfortable and contemporary Staff helpful and friendly Location of hotel free parking
Review 74:Nothing to complain about
Review 75:From start to finish we had good time customer service was great room was big and spaceous beds cofoetable we were told it was a little noisy we didn't hear a sound
Review 76:Hotel was fine. margate has limited dining options so bear this in mind when looking for a restaurant
Review 77:The hotel delivers all the facilities you would expect . Comfortable and clean.
Review 78:Friendly efficient staff. Good sized room with comfortable bed. Staff had provided a fan as it was exceptionally warm and said we could have a sheet to replace the duvet if required.
Review 79:The breakfast was passible. The evening meal less so - the food selection tended to lean towards frying, the menus were complicated and tended to be based on time of evening, the kitchens closed too early and the staff seemed rather inflexible - would be wary of booking more than "room only" in this chain next time
Review 80:Our room and a quiet night. the situation of the hotel.
Review 81:Breakfast was a bit pricey and the wifi went down for a couple of hours one evening but hey ho. Noise from child/children jumping around for 1.5 hours in the evening shaking the light fittings was disturbing.
Review 82:Good staff and good location.
Review 83:the evening meals were very poor, the curry night was not up to standard the dishes were not labled and the only vegetarian dish soon disappeared.
Review 84:the bedroom was comfortable and the staff very good and cheerful
Review 85:No problems at all. Everything was great.
Review 86:Left alone to relax and enjoy my stay. Even with the Dreamland opening celebrations close by, I never suffered any disturbances.
Review 87:No safe in the room. Only 30 minutes free wi-fi
Review 88:Clean spacious and comfortable room designed from the users's point of view. The staff were very polite and the breakfast at Brewer's Fayre was fantastic value for money, as served by the friendliest, most professional staf you could hope to meet.
Review 89:we didn't think much of Margate. Basically it is a dump and until a lot of money is spent on the resort, we won't be back!
Review 90:we thought that the hotel was fine, easy to locate and the staff were very friendly. Enjoyed the breakfast and I managed to have porridge as well.
Review 91:Suggest that a bench by smoking area may have been the icing on the cake. Currently it feels like "being behind the bike shed."
Review 92:I slept like a log. The room was lovely.
Review 93:That my son whom i booked a rm for staying in 301 could constantly hear the door banging to thestairs not soft close !!
Review 94:New bathroom suite & comfy bed
Review 95:The only two negatives I could find were 1 - WI FI not good, only half hour free 2 - Window opened over bin area, maybe block the view somehow?
Review 96:We looked after my niece and nephew who stayed in the room with us. Unfortunately one of them was sick during the night, meaning the bedding had to be changed, but my wife went downstairs and the staff response was fantastic. They brought new bedding and even offered to make the bed, all at 2am!! Breakfast was lovely too.
Review 97:A ridiculous situation arose on booking in where I wanted to pay be cash and the staff demanded photo ID which I did not have. fortunately, a friend who booked a different room paid for it on card for me and i gave him the cash. I would not have been in issue if this was made clear at booking.
Review 98:Comfortable, clean, good location
Review 99:Not bad experience but : 1. bathroom extractor fan not working so condensation quickly built up. 2. Only 1 hand towel for 2 people! Had to request extra one each day. 3. Only 2 tea bags each day - a tad miserly.
Review 100:1. Location & room with sea view. 2. Good parking - for large van with classic 1962 scooter
Review 101:Breakfast was haphazard to say the least on both morning. Never enough delph, so getting a cup of coffee was a struggle!
Review 102:The hotel has everything you want and ver convientently located near station and beach.
Review 103:We really enjoyed our stay at Margate Premier Inn. The most 'stand out' feature was the sheer friendliness of all the staff which made us feel at home straight away. Thank you!
Review 104:Margate is not place I would choose for a holiday get away. Not alot to do. And unfortunately very run down. But you can see the beauty it once would of had.
Review 105:The hotel was great. Great value for money. clean and attached to a brewers pub. We were in margate for a concert. Right by the train station and the car park was a good size.
Review 106:The evening meal at Premier Inn was a terrible experience - not to be repeated. The service was awful, the tables weren't cleared and there was an obvious lack of staff.Even at breakfast on our last morning the food was not replenished quickly.
Review 107:The friendliness and the helpfulness of all the staff
Review 108:Elevator did not work, some music from somewhere played day and night and could just be heard in the bass scale --very annoying,
Review 109:The hotel is located exactly next to the trainstation and made it very convenient for us. It is half a mile from the town center. It also looks directly onto the shore which is very scenic. Staff were very nice. The pub which is on the first floor serves super food. Price very good.
Review 110:lift broken so every body had to use stairs as this was next to our room kept awake until 1.30 in the morning and was woken up before 6.00 .also could here the person above walking around heavily
Review 111:staff helpful food very good
Review 112:Like I said I like every thing I just found one member of staff in particular very unhelpful. I desperately needed an email printed off and was having trouble I've had the same sort of problem at premier lodge before and have always been helpful and print it off for me this one in particular really did not seem as if she can be bothered to even look Or help
Review 113:The bed was so comfortable
Review 114:We would have liked an early check in because we arrived at 12pm after a very long journey, but told we couldn't until 2pm.
Review 115:When my sister & I arrived the staff were very helpful. They changed our room so we could have two beds instead of a double bed. I want to praise the lady on evening duty in reception, because she gave us a lot of help and was always smiling which made our stay very comfortable. Also want to thank Kylie in the restaurant.
Review 116:Rubbish lying outside entrance door throughout 3 day stay.
Review 117:Comfortable room well presented. Friendly helpful staff. Adequate food at reasonable price.
Review 118:A bit understaffed in the Brewer's Fayre restaurant, breakfast a bit pricey at £8.75 so we did not take up this option
Review 119:Friendly staff, well-appointed room, comfortable bed, free wi-fi.
Review 120:Premier inn claim they give the best nights sleep. I woke up 3 times in the night and couldn't sleep. I had roughly 4 hours sleep all night. Good food although rather expensive.
Review 121:The room is too warm to sleep comfortably until you work out how to alter the air conditioning.
Review 122:Friendly, helpful customer service Reasonable room rates Very convenient location
Review 123:Nothing
Review 124:The staff were amazingly accommodating. Heather and her team were fantastic in accomodating my son who has severe allergies. The front desk staff were great and gave info on the facilities and the surrounding area. I'd definitely stay there again!
Review 125:No free wifi Single occupancy fee Some inflexibility after booking confirmed especially considering I'd booked multiple rooms.
Review 126:Reception were lovely. Like the link to Brewers Fayre. Very convenient & cosey. Location to seafront & station good.
Review 127:Extremely friendly and helpful stuff, nothing seemed to be any trouble. They kindly organised a taxi for our evening out. The room was spacious and clean. Couldn't fault anything with our stay here and would definitely recommend and stay again.
Review 128:Our night was a nightmare on two counts 1) the restaurant/pub on the same premises stopped serving food at 10pm (Fri night), and we'd only just arrived from London - emergency booking overnight. 2) we could not get any sleep until 3.30 a.m due to unbelievable noise from other patrons above our room. We were refunded though, with no problem, and many apologies.
Review 129:The staff at Reception were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was adequate, clean and hygienic, but only one chair in a double/triple room seemed a bit sparse!
Review 130:I went holiday with my family. 2 adults and 2 kids. The room in this hotel is very poor, no air on,room temperature up to 26c. Ridiculous ! My 2 boys was coughing, and little Baby had a fever during midnite. Our 1st stay was in Herne Bay, Premier Inn, it was good, but Margate Premier Inn just turn me down.
Review 131:Slightly difficult to find the entrance (it's round the back), thats about all.
Review 132:Nice, compact hotel. Great location, close to the beach, train station and the Turner. Very accomodating to our two disabled travellers ensuring that their precise needs were met. Excellent integrated restaurant service an excellent evening meal and breakfast. Good parking.
Review 133:There had no hair dryer, which we thought it should be there and we didn't bring our own.
Review 134:Excellent location with by the sea. Room is tidy and clean. Staff is friendly.
Review 135:Paid for breakfast and when went into have breakfast it was the worst experience I have encountered. No cups for tea no orange juice no cereal bowls and the amount of people waiting in line was about 30 people deep. When asked the staff for cups and bowls was told won't be a minute the minute was at least 10 mins and there was not crossants or muffins. Think that paying quests should get prioty before people off the street. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever witnessed will think twice before booking again.
Review 136:Rooms clean and not bad value
Review 137:We went for breakfast at 10.05 and cost £8.95 each for a full breakfast. The food was dried and cold the hash brown could not be cut in to. I asked why the food was not kept replenished and was told it was after 10am. Breakfasts are available until 10.30 and you should get the same quality of food at any time during the time period. We went for dinner on Thursday after pre-booking our table for 6pm we put in our order and complained when we still have not been served by 6.35 we eventually received our meal at 6.53. Firstly a member of staff said a big table had put an order in just before us and then after complaining again she said the chef was re-doing the eggs as he was not happy with them. How do they cope during the high season - I don't know! It certainly was not worth the wait or the money.
Review 138:The location of the property was excellent. Staff and room were excellent. Room was kept really clean and tidy.
Review 139:room very warm as old style hotel has no air con. A fan was provided in the room but was very dusty so we were reluctant to use. We reported to reception on leaving and they said they would look into it.
Review 140:Free parking Excellent value Room well equipped, clean and in good repair Bed extremely comfortable On the whole a very comfortable stay in a room that was perfect for a short stay.
