Reviews for Hôtel Le Viking

Review 1:Un-useable Wifi. Dead in evening, but to be fair was awful weather and we headed into town for dinner.

Review 2:Location, friendly staff. Clean. Good breakfast.

Review 3:could have made the sunset bar more inviting - lacking in atmosphere. May have just been a quiet week

Review 4:Friendly, helpful and welcoming reception desk staff. Location is excellent Food was very good

Review 5:The food was ok ish. At one point whilst eating a meat skewer thing I felt like I was eating gourmet dog food, which is great if you're a dog. Didn't go so well the glass of Bordeaux I was enjoying.

Review 6:Location for skiing

Review 7:Food could be improved upon. and there isn't a lot of choice so if you don't like what is on offer it is impossible to go out and eat elsewhere.

Review 8:Staff were very friendly and accomodating. There is a ski hire shop inside the hotel too only Booking.com told us they did not have this facility so we pre-booked elsewhere which was not ideal!

Review 9:I think the pool could be used generally through the day time and also the pool area requires a refurbishment it is looking fair tied along with the changing room area.

Review 10:The location is perfect, all of the staff are very friendly - the reception staff are also helpful and informative and we greatly appreciated the use of the sauna area on our last day to shower. The food is also very good as well

Review 11:Nothing was really bad. Room could have been bigger, pool opened more often and some plainer food would have worked at the restaurant but all that aside it was a brilliant week and the Viking did really well.

Review 12:We were met at the Pleney cable by a smiling Viking staff member and helped to the hotel. Whisked into a late sitting supper and then checked in. The room was a little basic and perhaps small but the bed which felt hard was SO COMFORTABLE! Once we'd unpacked the space was fine and the room heater warmed things up. Overal the staff were so very helpful and the menu in the restaurant always has something good on it - despite odd options like Steak with Vanilla Sauce! The Viking is amazing for ski to door and the boot room was perfect. Immediate access to the nursery slopes and to the Blues and Reds of the Les Gets / Morzine area. The VKNG bar and restaurant was a real sun spot too. The bar at the hotel was quiet and a little without character but once it was a bit fuller there was a great vibe and people were all very friendly. We're hoping to go back next year - and to stay at the Viking again.

Review 13:Rooms were basic but fine for a skiing holiday, the priority is the amazing access to the snow not how pretty the bed covers are!

Review 14:Location was amazing.

Review 15:We arranged our visit as an independent trip and were unaware that the cable car access to and from the hotel only operates from 8.45am, where-as our departure was to be at 6.30am. This meant there was no way of getting down the mountain prior to this time and we actually had to book another hotel to stay in on our last night in the town. It's in the small print of course, but beware! The WiFi did not work at all during our stay. Whilst there is a hotel bar, there were children around most of the time which is no doubt great if staying as a family but not so great if you are just with friends.

Review 16:Avoid the morning queue for the chair lifts and ski from the door. The hotel has its own ski hire shop which is another convenience, as well as ski and boot storage room.

Review 17:The karaoke night at the bar downstairs is a great idea, but what a pitty too few people knew about it. More efforts are needed to actually make clients aware of the hotel-events. Perhaps inform the clients a little better how the lift to the hotel works in evening hours. (i.e. that ONLY the 3 first cabins will open to take you up. ) which means you must be there AT the start of the ski-lift run.

Review 18:Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food on half-pension was definitely correct for the price. Location hotel is on the slopes of Morzine skiresort. Also while not IN the center of Morzine, still nice to be a little removed from the hussle and bussle, yet have easy acces via the skilift. Also easy access via shuttle from Morzine to Avoriaz and the rest of ski-resort Les Portes du Soleil.

Review 19:Wifi mdid not work for 48 hrs when we arrived and when it did it was painfully slow, my 11 yr old like most kids needs wifi and I could not deal with work stuff, if don't eat loads my this is the hotel for you portions were child size, as wifi did not work I has to go to morzine to find a wifi location, why advertise something you don't have?

Review 28:food could be better- warm plates and hotter food

Review 29:Location ease of ski hire great for kids- swimming pool being all inclusive warm and friendly helpful staff

Review 30:Swimming pool was a waste of space. 2 jacuzzi's in the same space would have been much better

Review 31:Convenient location ideal for skiing with friendly staff and excellent food

Review 32:Great views but the hotel is simply horrid. Shame because the staff deserve better.

Review 33:Staff really great. The enthusiasm very impressive.

Review 34:No tea coffee facility in room, no heated towel rail in room, bed washard, lift very slow
