Reviews for Angelica Hotel Hydra
Review 1:3rd bed is a sofa bed and not that comfortable. As we were charged for 3 persons , we expected proper beds for 3 people. No tea/ coffee in room for people who were not interested for buffet breakfast !!
Review 2:Clean and good location
Review 3:The bed was hard for me and it was located on the mezzanine, which was hotter than the rest of the room. Air conditioning was noisy and was not really very effective. Especially bathroom needs renovation; the bathtub was located high and it was a little tricky to go in and out.I stayed at VIP superior double room. Stairs in the room and highly located bathtub is not suitable for disabled and elderly.
Review 4:Nice building in a quite setting. Elegantly furnished. Only 3-5 min walk from the port. Staff was nice and the room was clean. Breakfast was sufficient and served in a lovely patio.
Review 5:For a 4 star hotel I would expect something more. In the balcony of our room there was a door to a stock room so the staff was passing from our balcony to reach it.
Review 6:Friendly staff
Review 7:Wifi is available throughout on various routers, however depending on your room, it can be somewhat intermittent, which was a little frustrating but would not stop us from re booking.
Review 8:A lovely and friendly boutique hotel. We always stay here. Immaculate and clean. throughout. Lovely breakfasts. Staff and Owner always friendly.
Review 9:Unfortunately for us we don't sleep well on hard mattresses, but then it is hard to find soft ones in Greece.
Review 10:Lovely hotel, with very friendly staff!
Review 11:Expensive for what it offers. We paid 140 euro per night (no breakfast included) but a good price would be 70 euro for what you get..
Review 12:Good location, very clean rooms, attention to detail..
Review 13:A beautifully furnished family run hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Our room was very comfortable with a fantastic bathroom containing a huge walk-in shower. Breakfast in the courtyard under the parasols was excellent. All tastes from eggs & bacon to cake are catered for. A perfect location from which to explore Hydra.
Review 14:No staff available at any time. The day we arrived there was a girl waiting for us. She was in a hurry to leave and was rushing us as we were carrying our bags through the uphill. Other than that, very good place.
Review 15:The place was beautiful and clean. Excellent location. Only 5 blocks from the port where the ferry droops you.
Review 16:Maybe you would just expect a little bit of something "more" for its price.
Review 17:Beautiful hotel in a quiet location. Very clean, with friendly and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated rooms, with great air-conditioning. Nice outdoors breakfast.
Review 18:Loved everything.
Review 19:This was our third island. This place was remarkable. The hotel is centrally located off the waterfront but also close to a few cute restaurants that locals frequent. The hotel has a lot character and the staff are amazing. I am already trying to figure out when and how to return.
Review 20:Unstable wi-fi
Review 21:The people!tStelios, the breakfast lady, Vangelis and the all rounder young lady who works there all are arranging or managing details that make you happy.
Review 22:We had to change rooms after one night (of thee in total) which was annoying and made us feel like we were still travelling and could't relax right away. The wifi was quite bad and often didn't work at all.
Review 23:Great location, facilities and staff. The Jacuzzi and outside area was great.
Review 24:Our room was across the road,in a lovely building from the main hotel, so it felt a bit cut off.
Review 25:Large comfortable room, well decorated with a large terrace
Review 26:Keep in mind there are no taxis on the island! Nobody advised us to hire a cart or donkey to carry luggage. We were looking for the hotel for half an hour in the dark rolling our heavy luggage on the stone roads. Sauna is a one person box with your head sticking out. Juccuzzi is available only till 5 pm.
Review 27:Fabulous place to stay our room was gorgeous hydra is peaceful and chilled but offers a great choice of places to eat and drink. Lovely to have no cars and motorbikes
Review 28:Beautifully appointed room with a spacious balcony. TV had option a a few different languages other than Greek. Very helpful staff with a quiet and convenient location to the port area of town.
Review 29:A bit pricier than other places, although I can't complain--I was given a large room at a discounted rate.
Review 30:The lovely owner and the yogurt in the mornings and the Korres products. Attention to detail was amazing. Beautiful rooms.
Review 31:Central location (close to harbor, no stairs to climb), nice ambiance and character. The staff is very attentive and cordial, while the owner provides a superb management with attention to every small detail an with "personal touch".
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:We didn't prebook a Ferry to Hydra from Piraeus !! Big mistake on a Friday as they were all full..but one phone call to the Hotel and Stellios sorted it out for us and got us on the next Ferry..
Review 34:The bathroom would benefit from a facelift.
Review 35:Angelica is a wonderful, quite place frequented by fine clientele. The management and stuff, including Stelios and Ana, are extremely efficient, courtous and fun to talk to. Our room opened to a private patio, which added so much to our joy of staying at the hotel.
Review 36:Attention to detail stood out, staff and management cared, it didn't seem like just a job to them. All rooms are individually designed, everything works and is clean. I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, served in the courtyard, choices for everyone.
Review 37:Leaving .
Review 38:Everything. Stelios and his Brother were amazing. We messed up our Ferry to Hydra, one call to Stelios , and everything was sorted . The staff were so friendly , they couldn't do enough, it was with a very heavy sigh when we left. Many Thanks once again Stelios.
Review 39:We received a warm welcome. Everyone was very friendly. The rooms were unique and very lovely. The breakfast was wonderful - the woman in charge was especially kind and made sure everything was top notch.
Review 40:We rented a "VIP Superior Triple" room for three adults, thecost of which was €180 per night. It was a single room of decent sizefor a double but too small to be rented as a superior triple. Moreimportant the single bed for the third person was a "kiddie"bed about 64 inches long - much shorter than the 80" standardlength of an adult bed and much too short for our third person, who is70" tall, too sleep with legs extended. The room picture displayedfor a "VIP Superior Triple" while booking online showed a roomw/a loft and second sleeping area. We were very disappointed thatthe room we got was much smaller and was a single room with sleeping forall three accupants close together. This was the highest rate we paidfor a triple during a 14 day trip through Greece and nearly double therate for some triples/suites we rented that had larger rooms and twosleeping areas. Consequently, we expected better than this. That said, given the high quality of the hotel, I would not object to the price ifthe sleeping arrangements had been adequate for three adults. Anadditional inconvenience was that the room did not have a hot pot orcoffee/tea service in the room; which is now common in most hotelsin this class. A small item, but important to most travelers. Since thebuilding where breakfast was served was across the street this added tothe inconvenience of having a cup of tea or coffee on the beautifulpatio adjoining the room. A bottle opener/corkscrew in the roomwould be an additional improvement that would enhance a visit to thisotherwise spectacularly beautiful property.
Review 41:The physical building - room, doors, windows and large marble patio withgood privacy - was truly outstanding and very nicely decorated. If thisroom had been for a couple I would have given the highest rating in mostcategories - see next comment.
Review 42:5 minutes easy walk from ferry terminal is not exactly accurate, especially if one chooses to drag one's bags, as its uphill from the waterfront. Use the donkeys. No variation in the breakfast, gets boring if staying a few days.
Review 43:Comfortable boutique hotel, nice jacuzzi since Hydra's beaches are not so easily accessible. We had a lovely private courtyard, & delightfully a farewell bottle of wine.
Review 44:Bed was a bit hard. Wi-fi was unstable at times.
Review 45:This cute little hotel is very nice and comfortable with a traditional spin at a great location! We particularly liked the breakfast area (secluded front-yard), it is great to have breakfast outdoors! Breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had in a while. Also the owner and all staff were very nice and helpful.
Review 46:All was excellent nothing bad
Review 47:Location, close to the harbour but far enough away to be away from the noise of the harbour. Very tranquil. Staff are very friendly.
Review 48:I would have preferred a softer mattress and bigger pillows.
Review 49:Beautiful mansion in an excellent location, only 5 minutes from the port and without stairs! The rooms have the names of the twelve Olympians. I stayed in "Zeus" and felt like a Goddess. The room had a royal breadth taking decoration. It was quiet and clean with a private patio. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was kind and helpful. Very good WiFi.
Review 50:Well , a practical problem in the shower, which was fixed the following day. The frozen air coming in the room from the bottom of the balcony door. The wind was extremely strong outside during our stay, I should say ....
Review 51:I liked the building itself, traditional, with excellent taste of decoration! The friendliness and professionalism of the staff! The lovely, comfortable bedroom!
Review 52:Nice mattresses, one of the best rests I've had on my trip. Also, the balcony was spacious and even in late Oct I was able to get some suntan on my pasty Canadian skin. Service was great and conscientious. About a 5 min walk from ferry, turn the corner just past the clock tower.
Review 53:Rooms are very, very small with little storing space for clothes and luggage. The lady at breakfast was unfriendly and unapproachable.
Review 54:Everything was well apointed and fresh and clean. The rooms were very pretty and breakfast good value for money.
Review 55:Bed was extremely hard, not able to get a good night sleep. Bit of a walk up hill from the port so can be tiring to get up there with luggage.
Review 56:Nice hotel, very clean. Staff were quite helpful and tended to all our queries. Good amount of food for breakfast but was exactly the same everyday, very little variety.
Review 57:Great Hosts Excellent rooms Nice amenities including breakfast with espresso coffee. Close to harbour and restaurants Quiet, clean and comfortable rooms Bottled Water supplied in rooms Great value for money
Review 58:Nothing to dislike at this hotel.
Review 59:we liked everything about this hotel. It is located just off the main port harbour and a short walk up the hill, but is easily accessible for all. Excellent quality of facilities and polite owner make this a gem of a place to stay when on Hydra. we have returned 3 times now.
Review 60:A wonderful small hotel just a short walk away from the noise and bustle of the port. Beautifully decorated rooms with wonderful air conditioning, which was so needed! The buffet breakfast was lovely with a choice of hot and cold foods. The staff at the Angelica were all extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to visitors to hydra.
Review 61:Was given a twin room when I booked a double far in advance
Review 62:Breakfast Location Very kind staff, AMAZING Openness and family feeling of the hotel Privacy Freedom and ease of coming and going
Review 63:Although the bed was very comfortable, the sheets were stiff and almost hurt our skin if we moved at all while sleeping or lying in bed.
Review 64:Location Owner was so friendly and helpful Clean Decorations Had a hot tub
Review 65:Quite expensive and some equipment should have been replaced/renovated (hot water should be available all the time and not to be depented from an electricity switch operated by the client-20min wait). Some small corrosions inside the bathroom should have be fixed. The location is not far from the port but not the closest one. In that price the limitation of two days staying shouldn't have been determined.
Review 66:The rooms are very nicely decorated, very quite and very good breakfast. Plus point that it was very clean and the provided bath products were coming from a popular company. Wifi also available in the room.
Review 67:Breakfast although rich was of no good quality, staff was polite but not friendly. I had the feeling of a self service breakfast and not buffet
Review 68:The room was nice although it was a double room and not a vip junior suite which i had booked. They told me it was a junior suite?????
Review 69:Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. I highly recommend a stay here.

Review 85:Breakfast rooms and service
Review 86:This was an adorable little place. The room was a nice size and clean. The staff was informative and kind. It's an easy walk from the port.
Review 87:The hotel was nice but the jacuzzi wasn't in use and we didn't have a balkony. Quite expensive...
Review 88:This hotel is very pretty and a great location. The suite we had for ourselves and three teenage children was perfect for family travel.
Review 89:The brothers who run the Angelica are top notch. Their hospitality and helpfulness were what contributed to the overall delightful experience.
Review 90:WiFi did not work in the room, only in common areas
Review 91:Friendly and helpful staff
