Reviews for The Crown Hotel
Review 1:No hot water out of basin tap as broken cold only. Toilet seat hanging off mould around bath trim and tile grouting. Owner needs to check all rooms for attention to detail rather than a pretty folded towel I'd have PREFERED to shave and wash in hot water
Review 2:Staff friendly clean and tidy room and OK value for money

Review 9:Very welcoming staff, great breakfast, and good food at the pub integral to the hotel.
Review 10:The bathroom needs re-doing and overall the hotel could do with a modern refit. The breakfast was overpriced, for scrambled eggs on toast, and the breakfast menu was very limited.
Review 11:It was a fair price for the room, which was fine for a couple of nights. The bar was good.

Review 18:Excellent location for me. Not in the centre of town, close to beach for a walk and close to things to see. Ample parking, lift to all floors, nice meals and beer. Friendly staff. I extended my stay to three nights.
Review 19:the bathroom needed updating and the shower was slow and there was no blind. or curtain at the window. we felt that the room needed updating.
Review 20:the staff were very friendly and helpful. our room was large and the bed very comfortable. we had booked breakfast but realised that the time wasn't suitable for us so we spoke to the chef and he arranged to open early for us as we had to be out early. we ate in the bar lounge in the evening and the food was good and the portions were large.
Review 21:Ran out of the spirit and mixer we were drinking the first night. A smart bar manager would of picked up on this and re stocked knowing the amount we were spending. Basic room with much improvements needed. Overall the hotel is dated but fits in with the rest of Skegness
Review 22:Kept bar open for as long as we needed
Review 23:Our room was quite cold (we visited 11/15). The room heater came on during the night. Fan heater for bathroom & towel radiator.
Review 24:Good value for money considering the hotels location. Good value meals. Staff were helpful, friendly and professional at all times.
Review 25:Four problems in the room were not sorted out. There was a major lack of communication about what was happening and apparently I was thought to have changed rooms when I checked out. I am awaiting an explanation from the hotel.
Review 26:Breakfast available at a reasonable time.
Review 27:The rooms were out dated . And dirty . Bathroom was disgusting with mold around the bath . The wardrobes didn't have any handles on them . Wallpaper was peeling off . Paintwork really bad . Curtains didn't have ends on the pole so when opening the curtains they came straight of . It was like staying at faulty towers !!!
Review 28:Staff very very friendly . Although got there with 2 small children 44 minutes early but wasn't allowed to check in .
Review 29:Hotel in need of a revamp and the room we had although very basic needs a blind at the bathroom window and we did mention the toilet seat white (Avocado suite) needed tightening.
Review 30:Staff very friendly and welcoming. Clean Good breakfast
Review 31:Badly needs renovating. Fire alarm went off at 0:44 in the night. The night porter didn't have a clue what to do. Dodgy plumbing.
Review 32:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bar meals were well cooked and good value. Clean & comfortable beds. Cheap rooms.
Review 33:Liked everything about this hotel. Very friendly staff. Fire alarm went off saturday night and the night porter andy did a brilliant job getting everyone out quick as possible lucky it was a false alarm. But well done andy..
Review 34:The room was dirty and the bathroom was covered in mould. The walpaper was hanging off the walls and the curtins were also mouldy and hanging off the rail . The carpet had blood stains and the room smelt damp.
Review 35:Shower in my original room did not work correctly so I was moved next door, but this one although hot was very inefficient.
Review 36:Staff were excellant with my initial arraival and trying to resolve the problem Ihad with the shower.
Review 37:Holy Moly. First room i was given was filthy and hadn't been cleaned at all, bed wasn't even made. Second room had someone elses things in it. Finally got an empty/sort of clean room. Total state, door handles broken, room number written on paper pinned to the door, grotty.
Review 38:The water pressure on the top floor was poor but we were offered the use of another bathroom.
Review 39:Comfortable bed and pillows, breakfast included in the deal. Staff did all they could to please us.

Review 46:No continental breakfast... very old fittings which were worn in bathroom. Hot water was very hot and had a very irregular flow, with an air lock problem
Review 47:there was nothing negative about our stay.
Review 48:The staff were always helpful and happy. large room, the food was delicious having purchased a meal in the bar and breakfast next day.
Review 49:You heard staff talking about personal things and other staff members. There was no heating in the room so it was slightly cold.
Review 50:The bed was really comfortable, and it was a nice place to stay, with about 10/15 minute to walk to sea front. The staff was helpful when it came to wanting extra things in the room.
Review 51:sticky tables in the restaraunt, did not see one table wiped after people had eaten and left. bits on the carpet in our room for two days.
Review 52:good food in restaraunt, good breakfast. friendly helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere. enjoyed our stay,
Review 53:Having a member of staff opening the door for us in the early hours of the morning before we got there to ring the door bel. Also free TV and free wifi
Review 54:Couldn't believe we paid £47 per roomper night and it didn't include breakfast , feel I've been ripped off.
Review 55:Friendly staff, food was lovely, and reasonably priced compared to down stairs the bedrooms were a bit out dated but clean.
Review 56:the WiFi never worked while we were there. couldn't fault the staff but was very disappointed with how dated my room was. it was not as advertised on the net...for example nice clean modern looking bathroom but mine was an old Pea green dated one.
Review 57:The wifi was poor , And the bath had a bit of a leak in which it wasn't fixed while we were their
Review 58:nice room , lovely food , friendly staff , also very clean

Review 60:The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome and the pub food is very good we ate there two nights. Would stay again when we visit skeggy
Review 61:breakfast was very poor for the money we paid my son had porridge which was very very thick and was told to put some milk to it which was cold. The fact that you took the money from our account when we checked in and did not have the chance to pay in other ways like we had in Whitby
Review 62:clean and warm and receptionist was very good with our child and us
Review 63:A bit tired in places but is undergoing refurbishment so in future should be very good.
Review 64:Accommodation and breakfast were very good. We only stayed one night but staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming.
Review 65:Poor soundproofing between floors.
Review 66:Friendliness of staff, very good food, no unnecessary frills but everything was there.Quiet location. Good onsite parking.
Review 67:Spider in my children's towel. Cigarettes smell everywhere in the room and it's supposed to be non smoking. Took a while before it got sorted. Only one staff to take orders for breakfast, to cook and to attend to people in the reception. Long waiting time to check in, we arrived at 2.45pm but there was no staff to check Us in. The hotel stinks. Dirty laundry on the part way as we walked to our bedrooms. Breakfast was rubbish, burnt sausage, bacon and beans not well cooked and very cold. Overall we are not happy and the children couldn't sleep well because of the spider and some ants crawling on their beds.
Review 68:Location is good and the staff are welcoming
Review 69:The suite we had was a lovely size but in need of some redecoration and mondernisation. This said it wouldn't stop me re booking to stay here again.

Review 71:The staff were excellent, very polite, welcoming and very good with their attitude towards having children there. My son loved going to see one of the receptionists as she gave him her full attention. Brilliant... all the staff had this lovely attitude.
Review 72:although the room was clean when we arrived the standard of cleaning during our stay was a little poor really. the hotel is going through major refurbishments and I believe new water boilers were recently fitted, on the second day we found there was NO HOT WATER, to be fair the staff did all they could to resolve this but little use when having spent the whole day on the beach and in the sea I couldn't give my 3 yr old grandson a nice warm bath or shower, as I said the staff did all they could and water was sorted after a day. I would say however that I believe the room next to us (207) had no hot water all week.
Review 73:the staff were very friendly and helpful the breakfast was excellent we stayed in a refurbished room which was quite nice with brand new bathroom (room 206) twin beds large and comfy room could do with coat hooks by the door
Review 74:Not hotels fault. But booking.com sent me notification saying 2 adults and 2 children and hotel only received notification saying 2 adults so room very cramped.
Review 75:Room was very tired and dark. Scale came out of the taps into bath, tiles dirty. Came to clean room at 17.30 just pass we were getting ready to go out for the night. Receptionist seemed very stressed, tried to check in 10 mins before time and was told to come back at 14.00.
