Reviews for Arden Guest House

Review 1:Road noise at the front might be an issue during the week but it was fine Friday night to Saturday morning

Review 2:Comfortable bed (lots of places think a hard bed is the default choice these days) and feather pillow - wonderful! Immaculately clean and excellent breakfast. Brilliant vfm.

Review 3:Very clean room with great facilities. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was extremely good. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse - and would definitely stay there again.

Review 4:The walls are a bit thin so if your neighbour is watching TV loudly you could hear it. Having said that, it wasn't during rest hours and we had no trouble sleeping due to noise.

Review 5:The room was very clean and comfortable. Also very tastefully decorated. The breakfast was very nicely cooked and there was a selection of alternatives as well. The staff is very friendly and professional. Also extremely organised. They even made a cake and put it out by the entrance for guests to enjoy at any time - we appreciated this coming back late one evening :) Check-in and Check-out was very efficient.

Review 6:We recently stayed at Arden Guest House for a wedding that we attended 3 miles away at a hotel, I've got to say Arden was by far better!!! The staff were so friendly from the minute we buzzed the door bell to the minute we left, in fact we plan on staying there again pretty soon!! Breakfast was amazing, one of the best I've got to say. There is nothing I can fault this guest house with, it truly does have everything!!!

Review 7:The smell emanating from the bathroom sink was rather unpleasant. Unfortunately it slipped my mind to report it before we left in the morning, so I wasn't much help to the next guests. Hopefully the owners realised there was a problem, when they went in to clean it.

Review 8:Welcoming, friendly and helpful proprietors. Lovely homemade cake. chocolates, sweeties, biscuits and bottles of water (along with the usual hot drink options) in the room. Along with nice water glasses. These little touches make all the difference. And the breakfast was superb and gorgeous.

Review 9:Great experience right from the time one of the owners opened the door to me. All the facilities you could possibly want for a short stay (or even longer). Great value. Would use again if I had to travel to that location. EXCELLENT 10/10

Review 10:Very friendly hosts, happy to help in any way needed. Courteous and able to give any information requested. Very interested in what their clients' interests are.

Review 11:Spacious room, bathroom in excellent condition, TV and Wi-Fi working well, nice breakfast with lots of options, close to the centre of Kenilworth where there are many restaurants and shops

Review 12:We loved all the attention to detail. The little extras that make somewhere good into somewhere excellent. Very friendly hosts, a great breakfast, freshly cooked cake on arrival....lovely.

Review 13:Clean, cosy rooms with good shower, hairdryer, fan, TV and free wifi. Excellent location for Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, Birmingham etc. Helen & Tony are a very nice couple and helped us out with a last minute change to our rooms for which we are very grateful. Breakfast was excellent and we liked the extra touches like complimentary water and a bowl of sweets in our room. All in all a very nice stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Arden Guest House

Review 14:I can not think of anything.

Review 15:The proprietors, home and decoration were very welcoming. The quality of the breakfast was excellent. They went beyond the average and obviously took great pride in their business. Locals and I highly recommend this B&B.

Review 16:I don't like foam pillows and take my own feather pillow with me. Most b& b including Arden House seem to use foam pillows.

Review 17:It was a perfect location for our purpose, comfortable and very welcoming.

Review 18:We had a warm welcome and enjoyed our stay. The complimentary rhurbab muffins were very tasty. Breakfast room decor lovely and fresh and plenty of choice for breakfast.

Review 19:No real problems to report

Review 20:Very convenient location to town centre and many attractions in wider area. Very nice hosts and well presented place. Good breakfast.

Review 21:If I had to be really picky the toilet did not flush too well and the shower cubicle was very small which was ok for me but could be problematic for a larger person.

Review 22:Warm welcome. Complimentary home baked cakes which were delicious. Breakfast Towels changed daily. Bottled water replenished daily.

Review 23:The towels were not changed in the four nights we stayed. It felt at odds with the other very high quality items and services provided.

Review 24:The warm welcome. The spotless lovely house and room with daily top ups of bottles of water and chocolates. The breakfast and complimenrary home baked cakes.

Review 25:Wi-Fi is a bit unstable and overall speed, quality can be improved significantly.

Review 26:I am a part time student at WBS, therefore Kenilworth is a sweet spot to commute to/from Uni every day since campus accommodation is overpriced. Arden Guest house is a 1 min walk to the bus stop. The hosts are friendly and are cooking fresh breakfast to order every morning. The room is quite, clean and very good to study in the evenings.

Review 27:woke early due to room being very bright in the morning from 5am. blinds or black out curtains would make all the difference

Review 28:excellent breakfast, close to shops, cleanliness of room, friendliness of the owners

Review 29:The owners were very friendly, flexible and thorough & gave attention to detail. The food was excellent and the room was regularly cleaned and supplies generously topped up. There was even free home made cake on offer to guests

Review 30:The pipes were a bit noisy when someone in a neighbouring room turned their shower on

Review 31:Very clean and comfortable room (the bed was particularly comfortable!) with everything I could need, including bottled water and a dish of sweets. My room (no 1) had a tiny shower room, but there was still plenty of space to put things down and everything was immaculately clean. Breakfast was very good and the hot meal was generous and cooked to order.

Review 32:Cleanliness of room and public areas. Attention to detail in bedroom with liquid soaps and gels, bottle of spring water, tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press

Review 33:Couldn't fault anything

Review 34:Helen welcomed us warmly and as she knew it was my husbands birthday had even put some Thorntons chocolates in the room. The sitting room had a lovely homemade cake for guests to eat. Will certainly recommend

Review 35:The only minor gripe was breakfast finished a tad to early.Maybe cereal /bread /juice/water could have been left out for lazy people (me). The breakfast was the dogs really first class. amen

Review 36:The welcome happy and informative. The cake was lush i know ate 95% of it.

Review 37:did not have much time to enjoy breakfast, next time perhaps ;)

Review 38:Kenilworth is a mere small town, guest house is in a cozy street where you are very close to Sainsbury's (only place to shop in the town I guess) Helen is very hospitable

Review 39:- Breakfast - Location, 1 min walk to the nearest bus station towards Coventry - Kenilworth is a very nice town, close to University (10 min by bus), plenty of various restaurants.

Review 40:The stairs are a bit challenging to the top floor. Will keep you in shape if you can manage. Tony does carry your luggage up and down, though!

Review 41:I stayed at the Areden GH with two friends as we were attending a dog show ar nearby Stoneleigh Park. Ew had the three rooms on the top floor and we were all delighted with them. Lovely views of the town and sky, charmingly decorated, immaculate. Tony and Helen treated us and other guests as family. Beautiful breakfasts served to your order each morning. Helen even put a coffee press and fresh fround coffee in the room when one suggested she didn't like instant.

Review 42:It was super comfy and lovely. Looked exactly like the photos. The bed was really comfortable. There is nothing not to love! Very handy as it was a short walk from the supermarket, pubs and restaurants. The people who owned it were really nice. All facilities were great and the wifi very good.

Review 43:unable to connect easily to internet but as it wasn't important to me, we didn't seek help, so feel unable to comment either way.

Review 44:friendly welcome. Clean and comfortable. Good location. Great breakfast.

Review 45:Just about everything. Great communication from Tony & Helen prior to arrival. Made to feel very welcome on arrival. Well appointed and looked after bedroom. Would recommend without hesitation.

Review 46:Stayed in twin room for two nights here was very pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable with lovely interior decoration. Amenities were more than enough. Free wi-fi worked well. Staffs are very kind and friendly. Breakfast is also good with home made muffins! We were so much satisfied with our stay and definitely be back here if we have next chance to visit Kenilworth and around.

Review 47:Nothing at all! The shower was a bit fierce, but that makes a change from a dribble in some hotels.

Review 48:Small but beautiful, home from home and fabulous, friendly service. Highly recommended.

Review 49:Good hosts and the rooms were well tunrned out . The breakfast was good The location is far from Warwick university but their are a lot of places to eat right down the street. One must visit the Kings cafe a NGO run by the elderly on the street. Good home cooked dishes on the menu

Review 50:I often have to stay in the area for work purposes and this is the best B&B I have stayed in so fat. Room was very beautiful, clean and warm; breakfast was great; and hosts were very friendly. Highly recommended

Review 51:Room 1 - double at back of property was very comfortable, especially for one ! Water in en-suite shower good and hot, even late at night. Property on quiet street off main road. Warwick Uni is a short drive away, took me 10 - 15mins. Owners both very welcoming and breakfast was good, liked having fresh fruit on offer too. Note that in morning parking restriction sign says from 9am BUT you can park for 2 hours before enforced ... so effectively till 11am (though check out 10am) ... so no need to rush over breakfast !

Review 52:Excellent location- walking distance to The centre of Kenilworth, restaurants and the castle. Loved the homemade cake left for us in the dining room. Also the book swap- books to swap once you have read yours.

Review 53:Nothing

Review 54:Very friendly hosts who I feel have gone that extra mile to ensure your stay is very comfortable. Although very close to the local bars and restaurants my room was at the front and very quiet. I would have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.

Review 55:Room was on 2nd floor reached by steep, narrow staircases.

Review 56:Friendliness, food, comfort, welcome on arrival, ease of access to town and other locations in the area.

Review 57:Nothing it was all excellent.

Review 58:A really comfy, friendly guesthouse. Cater for veggies and vegans well. Really quiet so a good nights sleep had and the proprietors can't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend.

Review 59:The room was freshly and very nicely decorated, and spotlessly clean. The wine glass was a nice touch! Quality and plentiful amenities. Breakfast was comprehensive and well cooked. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I had no problems with the street parking. Good place to stay on your own, as very close to town centre.

Review 60:couldn't find fault.

Review 61:well positioned to centre of town. friendly, accommodating owners. clean, modern and tasteful decoration. well equipped rooms including wifi. good hot breakfast.

Review 62:lack or parking places just around the house

Review 63:Helen, the owner, was just perfect good location in the city center of kenilworth good value for money nice and cosy bedroom, quiet room also

Review 64:Arrived early after a transatlantic flight. Tony was welcoming and helpful. The location is very good for accessing local restaurants and for a walk to the Abbey grounds.

Review 65:The checkout time is very early at 10am but that would ok if the walls weren't so thin that you are woken up at 7am by other people moving around - take ear plugs! Also the bathroom we stayed in was tiny, it's not a separate room is more a partition and sliding door in the room. It's functional but made us a bit uncomfortable so make sure you are close to your travel companion! Breakfast in the morning has good portion size but some of the ingredients are a bit lacking. Bacon and eggs lovely - sausages poor quality with little flavour and hash browns were poor. If these were better quality produce it would have been great.

Review 66:Staff were very friendly and the mattress was very comfy. Location is good and price reasonable

Review 67:My wife and I stayed for a weekend for her birthday and everything about the place was excellent. The room was lovely, perfect location for visiting Warwick Castle, and super friendly staff. We absolutely would stay again.

Review 68:An exceptionally well run B&B with everything carefully prepared for a great stay. Helen has very high standards and provides a lovely breakfast. In a very good location for lots of local attractions.

Review 69:I would have to be extremely picky to find fault. I had no difficulty in finding a parking space outside. The lack of onsite parking might be a problem for some - thus only 'good' for location - but the road is quiet.

Review 70:My double bedroom, for one, was very well appointed, including 2 quiet bedside fans and an excellent tray of drinks and biscuits. Fresh milk was also available. The breakfast included a fresh fruit salad and freshly cooked hot food to order. Very pleasant hosts.

Review 71:Lovely bedroom with quality linens and décor, on street parking right outside with free vouchers if needed, lots of thoughtful touches (a fan as it was quite warm while we were there & the room is a sunny one) good breakfast & easy walk to lots of restaurants - & a recommendation with 30 % voucher available.

Review 72:Rather small rooms. Bit of a squeeze for more than 1 person. Very small bathroom. Showers are very tiny.

Review 73:Great location in a quiet street. Lovely hosts. Nice breakfast

Review 74:9.30 was latest time for breakfast-another half hour would be nice

Review 75:Very friendly owner, would book again.
