Reviews for Le Richelieu
Review 1:The room was rather basic, a hair dryer and more towels would have been appreciated
Review 2:The lady in charge was delightful and very helpful. The location is excellent for the centre of town and parking was very good.
Review 3:Difficult to find as the hotel is up a one way street only accessed with the owners transponder to lower a bollard in the centerof the street.
Review 4:Yannick the owner was delightful and greeted us with copious amounts of rose before we were shown our room. Room was spacious and well equipped. Location was ideal for rlestaurants & sightseeing also very dog friendly. Excellent secure parking.
Review 5:This was an extraordinary experience for us. The owner Madame Herve was friendly, helpful and turned her entire house over to her guests including the kitchen and cooking facilities. We enjoyed many evenings in the kitchen with the other guests and Madame Herve eating, telling stories and drinking the excellent wine of the region. Highly recommended and totally delightful
Review 6:We were shunted across the road. No cupboards, nowhere for suitcases, no floor coverings - bare concrete, dangerous stairs - not suitable for older people, garden derelict, bathroom and wc in very confined space. Worst accommodation since a 1960 youth hostel.
Review 7:The hostess was charming and more than helpful.
Review 8:The building is ramshackle in parts, it needs some finishing touches and it would then be terrific.
Review 9:Uzes is a great town and Le Richelieu is in an amazing period building. The owner is a charming and most hospitable lady.
Review 10:Having to leave.
Review 11:The very welcoming, personal touch. She couldn't of been more hospitable. A glass of wine on arrival, a washing machine to use and local knowledge of where to eat and sightsee.
Review 12:We were so central to everything to do in beautiful Uzes and Zannick could not have been more helpful and friendly and we loved the pool in the garden at the end of a lovely hot day
Review 13:Ensuite facilities needed updating.
Review 14:Charming building and garden with a pool in a private courtyard, all a short walk from the main square. You are made to feel at home in a relaxing and somewhat quirky atmosphere.
Review 15:The room was not up to standard with poor quality towels and bed linen. The bathroom was a partitioned off corner in the bedroom offering no privacy.
Review 16:Mme. Yannick was very hospitable and welcomed us with a glass of wine . Great location with secure parking nearby. Lovely garden to relax in with a glass of wine. Good breakfast was included.
Review 17:We loved it. Yannick greeted us with glasses of Rosé and made us feel as if we'd come home. We sat and chatted in the garden before making our way upstairs. Our room was large and comfortable with a traditional feel. It is perfectly located, right outside the centre of Uzés within walking distance of the main square and main attractions. For dinner we went to a delightful restaurant with delicious food as recommended. Yannick and the glass(es) of Rosé not only made us feel at home but made us want to return.
Review 18:Built by freemasons in the late 16th century, the vaulted ceilings, open passageways, and courtyard have been amazingly well-preserved. The ambience is indescribable, with a hidden pool out back. Wonderful room. Yannique was the most accommodating host. Highly recommend
Review 19:Inside of the room there was literally no phone reception. Wifi was avaialble downstairs in one room of the other building (that we were originally supposed to stay). Mattress was far too soft for comfort.
Review 20:We didn't read the arrival hours note on the booking and arrived later during the day. Although our booked room was no longer available the owner welcomed us and put us in another building just accross the street. It was beautiful and all promised in other reviews
Review 21:spartan bedroom-(stayed here in a large beautiful bedroom with previous owners 7 years ago) so a bit surprised and disappointed-small unattractive bedroom bed was very uncomfortable, plastic cover for bed wetters presumably ? poor furniture and bathroom very shabby and in need of total refurbishment. basic is fine but this wasn't sadly.
Review 22:very hospitable hosts eg local wine on arrival, couldn't do enough for us wonderful characterful building great location good breakfast beautiful garden
Review 23:Having to leave!
Review 24:The friendly welcome and hospitality from the owner (Yannick) and her staff. The architecture of the house is stunning and the interior and gardens serene, especially as you are right on the doorstep of the beautiful town of Uzes. Breakfast in the lovely gardens with the other guests is ideal for getting to meet people and make new friends!
Review 25:My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer! I will def have to pay Uzes and Le Richelieu another visit one day.
Review 26:There's nothing like being greeted with a glass of rose wine after hours of traveling. The place itself is so charming and the location can't be beat -- right in the center of the beautiful town of Uzes. I was a little wary at first about booking my first b&b and traveling with just two girls, but I felt completely safe here and Yannick helped us feel right at home, introducing us to her friends, giving us recommendations, and helping any way she could.
Review 27:The minute we arrived, Yannick greeted us very warmly and was the perfect host. She made us feel very welcome and to treat her place as if it were our own. I recommend this hotel highly.
Review 28:Madame Yannick knows how to treat travellers and guests from all over the world, to make them feel at home. Her B&B in the old town of Uzes is just perfect. I would recommend it to everybody looking for something special. Her homemade jam and the fresh croissants are served on silver dishes on a wooden table, in a beautiful garden full of roses and old trees. Not to mention Madame Yannick always welcomes guests with a glass (or more) of local rose wine! Cheers!
Review 29:Nothing, everything was lovely.
Review 30:Small hotel, run by the owner; we felt as though we were friends of the family rather than "paying guests". She could not have been more welcoming.
Review 31:Le Richelieu is a fabulous 16th century townhouse which is an oasis in the centre of Uzès. The rooms combine old-world grandeur with en suite facilities, breakfasting in the garden is a delight, and your hostess,Yannick Herve, invites you to treat her home as yours. And where else in the centre of Uzès would you have ample parking? Faultless.
Review 32:Nothing
Review 33:Very warm welcome from Yannick, amazing building and dog friendly. Nice breakfast in the morning and met with other guests.
Review 34:Unusual access, no TV and odd bathroom
Review 35:friendly owner.
Review 36:Yannick is a very gracious and generous host. Her home is almost like being in a castle. And we spent time in the lovely garden.

Review 40:Great welcome to a superb listed property in a lovely old French town. Host could not have been more pleasant or helpful.
Review 41:Everything a little bit shabby, but perfectly acceptable too (especially with the rosé)

Review 54:Graceful welcoming hostess who went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable ... and she was extremely beautiful too!
Review 55:We didnt like having the toilet behind a screen in the bedroom.
Review 56:The location was excellent, close to the centre of Uzes. Yannick was a charming host and the old house and garden were lovely. Parking was very convenient and secure.
Review 57:Wifi was a bit difficult because of the thick walls in this lovely old house but it was not a big problem.
Review 58:Lovely 17th century house with tons of atmosphere just a stone's throw from the centre of Uzes, a beautiful historic town. A very welcoming and attentive host. A lovely big bedroom and enormous bed. Very quiet location.
Review 59:The owner made us feel very welcome. Breakfast in the garden was lovely Ideally situated only a stones throw from the town centre yet still very quiet in the rooms.
Review 60:The very friendly and welcoming host Yannick who led us into the wonderful garden with a glass of wine. The house is a very beautiful and interesting property with a great garden all this in the centre of town ! Great breakfast too !
Review 61:Nothing.
Review 62:This is a beautiful and comfortable residence in a historic property, which is run by a very friendly and welcoming hostess. She instantly makes you feel at home and encourages you to treat her home as your home. It is well located in the centre of town, but on a small, very quiet street. The garden (which the breakfast area looks onto) is a peaceful oasis to relax in after a day of exploring the town and surrounding area. We will return!
Review 63:We really appreciated the friendly & personal atmosphere. The location is perfect with a very short walk & you are in the main street. Loved the garden & thank you for the welcoming rosé & excellent breakfast.
Review 64:Yannick was helpful and welcoming. The accommodation was conveniently sited to tour the area and also for easy access to restaurants. We had a wonderful few days and hope to return.
Review 65:It was one of the best hotel experiences I ever had. This beautiful hotel has the garden where birds are singing and roses are blossoming. Madam offered us beautiful rose wine when we arrived and we enjoyed it in this amazing garden. The room was very well kept and everything was so carefully prepared. I was very lucky for staying this amazing hotel where you feel like at home.
Review 66:Leaving :-( We should have stayed longer. Seriously, the only thing that might be a problem is manoevering in and out of the carpark. The carpark itself is big, but the entrance is off a narrow street and turning might be troublesome for a nervous driver or a large vehicle.
Review 67:This friendly little French B&B is simply wonderful. The location is superb, off a tiny cobbled street in the centre of the old town, the rooms are atmospheric and very comfortable, and above, all the landlady Yannick, does all she can to make her guests feel at home. Breakfast is served at one big table, in the pretty garden if the weather allows. We loved the little touches, such as arriving late after a tedious flight to find a carafe of wine and two glasses waiting for us on the kitchen table. Highly recommended.
Review 68:Extremely good location within easy walking distance of the town centre. Wonderful old house and delightful host. Would recommend for a tranquil stay.
Review 69:The owner is a wonderful friendly lady full of enthusiasm not only for Uzès but also for making sure you feel at home with all your needs attended to. The hotel is within walking distance of the heart of the town and yet in an oasis of calm. We loved our stay and will plan to stay at Le Richelieu again.
Review 70:It was a wonderful, friendly and very comfortable stay. We were looked after so well and given superb recommendations for dining in the town. The accommodation was beautiful, the location perfect - right in the heart of Uzes but away from the main road so very quiet and peaceful - and the atmosphere wonderful and so friendly. We loved our stay at Le Richelieu and will definitely stay there again.
Review 71:Great welcome from our very helpful, considerate hostess who went out of her way to see to our needs e.g. Taking us to the local hairdresser, finding parking for us and offering home made soup for our supper.
Review 72:The welcome greetings of the owner, the atmosphere of the place, the location which is superb - near the market and town center.
Review 73:,
Review 74:The place is amazing and Mme Yannick Herve a wonderful and helpful host. We had a really pleasant stay in Uzès together with our friends.
