Reviews for Vichy Célestins Spa Hôtel

Review 1:It's luxurious hotel, at least 5 stars in Vichy. The staffs could be more fluent in English. And definitely they should listen to the customers' enquiries.

Review 2:spa facility in the calm area, but not far from the city.

Review 3:Some areas are looking a little tired; missing tiles, fraying carpet. It looks like it needs a little extra love. Same problem that we had in another hotel with wifi - having to log on every time. Not a biggie but annoying if you want to access something quickly. Small hotels seem to get this right, why not the big ones?

Review 4:We had a room with a great view of the park. The room was tastefully decorated, bright and airy. The bathroom was well planned with a lovely bath -always welcome by us and a seperate toilet. I enjoyed the pool as I had it to myself! The public areas were comfortable and allowed for group or private conversations. My husband had tastings of the Armangac collection which he enjoyed.

Review 5:Not what you'd expect from a 5 star spa. The spa facilities were not cleaned regularly with guests cleaning the steam room themselves because it was dirty. Limited English spoken.

Review 6:Hotel has great amenities and access to the spa; friendly and attentive staff at hotel.

Review 7:Desolate state of our terrasse: dead plants, traffic noise, poor view...what's the point to have a room with a terrasse f you cannot really go out to enjoy it...!

Review 8:Dining at the terrasse Bar Free "Vichy - Celestin" mineral water fountain at the spa

Review 9:Room temperature control was not properly working Front desk was not so attentive as one can expect in a 5*

Review 10:TheThermal Spa The garden Very comfortable beds

Review 11:AC ddin't work. Changed rooms...still very poor AC - however, there during heatwave. Some of staff lacked professionalism for a highly rated hotel.

Review 12:Location near river and charming outdoor dining area.

Review 13:Overpriced, very expensive parking.

Review 14:Central location, direct access to SPA. There are 3 SPA-centers at Vichy, available to the guests of all hotels. Celestines SPA is the best one. The Hotel itself is nice, located in the beautiful park near the river. But it's not a luxury 5 stars, I'd rated it 4+.

Review 15:Very comfortable rooms with lovely linen and pillows!! Easy access to the spa. Plenty of things to do in a great location. Excellent dining. We had fantastic weather so the pool and sunbathing area was an added bonus

Review 16:Initially given a smoking room which stank of smoke. We could not believe that a 'Health hotel' would allow smoking in any rooms. Changed rooms but this was an annoying hassle in such a smart hotel.

Review 17:Incredibly comfortable bed. Free wifi Great location.

Review 18:The restaurant cannot figure how to cook medium well! But all of France is like that.

Review 19:Oh the grounds are magnificent, the pool is great (we did not have time to use the other spa treatments), the restaurant is quite good. I had a great time. The river walk outside the spa is amazing. Air conditioned all over: very good during the heatwave.

Review 20:This 1970's hotel is literally crumbling down. Tiles missing from the facade, the pool, your bathroom. Everything is in sad shape. Quasi absence of personnel. Air conditioning didn't work. Damp sheets. One of the closed restaurant has not found a new owner and is left in decrepit state. They made us pay extra for spa access but it was closed on Sunday, and they refused to give us a refund. It's obviously struggling. I wouldn't be surprised to see it close soon. Avoid.

Review 21:Location is great. Pool on the 7th floor roof would have been great if it had been clean and maintained.

Review 22:Very minor, but no milk in room to have with tea!

Review 23:An excellent quality and comfortable hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. We were a party of 5, and there was plenty of room for the extra bed in either of our 2 rooms. We did not access the spa facilities, but the hotel pool and roof terrace were very pleasant. Breakfast was very good and sitting out on the restaurant's large outdoor garden terrace was the perfect way to deal with the very hot weather during our stay. Thoroughly recommended!

Review 24:No bad experience. My husband complains about he design of the toilet. Too cramped

Review 25:The room. The bed. The water and mints. The spa which is why we come.

Review 26:The staff went out of their way to mke sure we had a great stay, courteous, friendly, professional but friendly. The surroundings and decor were fab and in good state of maintenance. The food was wonderful and value for money compared to other similar in the area - we did go out and explore other restaurants but eventually ate at les celestins because it was excellent and not over the top in cost. It was in the centre of the Spa area and the older part of the city, backing on to a park and lake. birds flew down next to us in the garden. The older part of the city was all round us! I loved the swimming pool on the 7th floor. We will return!

Review 27:The lavatory wasnt clean. This is suposed to be a 5 star hotel!! Well that was a joke. The breakfast pamphlet to hang on door was already used! The coffee cup chipped! The state of the room appalling- old , in desperate need of a refresh! The ceiling in shower with flaking paint. The wifi worked once for ten mins only! The columns in swimming pool area rusty!!

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:The hotel is well situated just a short walk through the park at the rear of the hotel to the riverbank, which has a good boardwalk and many restaurants. Access to the spa is via a walkway across the road to the front of the hotel. The spa has every type of treatment you could want. The hotel swimming pool is situated on the 7th Floor and it has a large viewing balcony which offers excellent views across the river. Parking is across the road in multi storey car-park with charge of upto 7.40euro for 24hrs.

Review 30:N/A

Review 31:80s style but super clean and well maintained in interestingly laid out room. Awesome bed, just around the corner from Vichy centre and 50m from the river with Vichy Spa over the road. You'd be pretty happy if this was the standard of accommodation you stayed in on a European visit. And they gave us concert tix as well. Big tick Vichy.

Review 32:Loo had extremely limited clearance for the door Air conditioning ineffective Large volume of traffic in the morning forced us to close the window so choose parkside room

Review 33:Convenient location Spacious room Tub and shower for two Rooftop pool, deserted, long enough for laps Architecture in central Vichy

Review 34:swimming pool is too small. don't know if the hotel itself is "luxury" enough for 5 stars

Review 35:the location is excellent, the room was nice (5 star), good restaurant. nice french simple design. comfortable environment and stuff. better to stay for at least a week if you take the spa facilities as they have some offers

Review 36:Hotel need renovation outside

Review 37:Great hotel with good staff ,confort and cleaness! Room have been updated ,very pleased

Review 77:Breakfast was little short on hot food

Review 79:The food at the bistro.

Review 80:The comfort and cleanliness

Review 81:some spa facility is not open, swimming pool is quite small

Review 82:hotel service is really good, beautiful location

Review 83:A beautiful property and the spa is superb. Breakfast buffet was thebest on our European trip. Highly recommended.

Review 84:Hotel City Top class

Review 85:Service

Review 86:Food was very poor quality for he standard of the hotel,in the bar and the bistro. Did not have breakfast.

Review 87:Comfortable room, well appointed Location near river and beautiful park

Review 88:Its a bit of a soulless place. It was a stop over for us, so probably I am being unfair. But the spa was shut Sunday PM, and they would have wanted paid entry as well. I had to pay for parking as well. This is 5 star because it has all the facilities. Other than that its just feels generic.

Review 89:Clean hotel in a lovely position. The staff could not be more helpful. Vichy was a decent stop over for us. (Try the Moroccan in town) .

Review 90:Room decoration is a bit 70s. No view out of the window.Toilet bowl was placed at a very weird angle in a tiny cubicle within the bathroom. I am a tint person and was very uncomfortable, don't know what a bugger person would do. Spa itself is was a bit disappointing.

Review 91:Stuff was welcoming and very helpful. Rooms are very functional and very clean. There is a phenomenal bathtub, good water and water pressure to fill it. Plenty of storage. Hotel's two restaurants and bar were good.

Review 92:The arrogance of part of the staff. The low level of cleanliness in a room where intimate reminders of previous guests were found.

Review 93:Not much really in this so called "5 star" hotel.

Review 94:The hotel is a bit old fashioned... Furniture is in ok shape but not very tasteful... Value for money..., 130,- Euros is the absolut limit they can ask... There are 2 restaurants in the hotel, a fine dining and a Bistro. We ate at the Bistro in order to not overspent and to just "grap a bite" (as we were just having a night stop in this hotel and we also had our baby with us, so no time nor mood for big fancy dinner...) but were quite dissapointed. It was too expensive for a "Bistro" and the food was not worth it at all. One of us had the daily special which had the impression to have been prepared on the plate long time ago and reheated in micro wave... The bill was over 90,- Euros for 2... So, either spent 150,- and eat well at the fine dining one or go out to eat I guess...!! Also, breakfast price is way too exagerated: 23,50 per person. Ok, it is a 5* hotel, but it is quite old and not that classy or chic that you would feel ok paying this price...

Review 95:Friendly helpful staff, brought us a nice baby bed with good matrace and even a changing mat. Location is good, quiet next to a park but 5min walk into city, parking accross the street from hotel. Easy to find, well indicated, to too far a detour from the highway. Access to SPA and Thermal pool from hotel, special prices for hotel guests.

Review 96:I believe the carpets in the room could do with a clean, it is important that you don't see stains in what is considered a luxury hotel. The reception is a bit open and less inviting than might be possible.

Review 97:The hotel staff were excellent, the room was a great size and the towels and other amenities were of a very good quality. We had a lovely bath in our room which was an added luxury. The food was excellent.

Review 98:Although the staff in all departments were very friendly the service at the restaurant was slow and not up to the standard of this hotel. Shame as the food was delicious.

Review 99:Very relaxing friendly atmosphere excellent food at the restaurant. Beautiful spa.

Review 100:Having the car taken away to be parked.

Review 101:The beautiful surroundings overlooking the river. The outdoor bar and restaurant facilities. The very reasonably priced restaurant. The top floor swimming pool and decking. The beautiful bedroom and balcony overlooking the river.

Review 102:The n3 restaurant in the hotel was terrible-very poor and disorganizedservice, and the food was average. The hotel itself needs a generalcleaning or refurbishing. The tile and grout in the shower are stained,as are the exterior walls of the building. The flower boxes outside thewindows only have weeds, and the windows themselves could use athorough washing.

Review 103:The staff in reception were very friendly and helpful. The room wasspacious, and bright (thanks to the large windows). The bed was very, very comfortable, and it was 1 large bed, not 2 single beds pushedtogether. The location was great, just a few minutes walk to the river, and to many restaurants. It was also very relaxing to sit outside inthe terrace bar in the evenings. Unfortunately we did not have time touse the spa.

Review 104:Loved Vichy and the hotel which is in the perfect spot to enjoy the Spa (direct access), the park, river and graceful city. Well worth coming here from Sydney.

Review 105:The rooms are too warm and the air conditioning does not cool them down, so it makes it difficult to sleep. I have stayed at this hotel on three occasions now in winter and spring and the rooms are always too warm with no way of cooling them down.

Review 106:Really nice rooms, lovely comfy beds and nice bathrooms. Great location near the centre of the town and right beside a park and the river.

Review 107:The Gastronomique restaurant was not that great by French standards, next time we will try the Bistru style restaurant.

Review 108:We had an upgraded room that was very spacious and comfortable

Review 109:the attitude of the staff the costs are too high for the service received

Review 110:The location, the comfort

Review 111:.

Review 112:Nice environment and spa center.

Review 113:Nicely situated hotel halfway between Belgium and South of France-Spain.Nice simming pool/terrrace on 7th floor with beautiful view over river.

Review 114:restaurant staff service..is very hell

Review 115:we much enjoyed our stay

Review 116:The hôtel has excellent facilities and exclusive spa thermal installations.all is there to spend an excellent stay to re shape up !

Review 117:Nothing.

Review 118:Room was very clean and comfortable, and very central, shops open on Sundays till 7, but not on Mondays.

Review 119:top staff service, warm welcoming, top confort, large bathroom, excellent restaurant, perfect for travelling with young children

Review 120:Staff just correct, room quite noisy with street, service not really at the level of a 4 stars hotel.

Review 121:Location, confortable bed, good diner, nice parc

Review 122:The bar staff were indifferent to the point of rudeness. The reception and retuarant staff serw excellent

Review 123:was just perfect

Review 124:Parking was outwith hotel

Review 125:Top class service
