Reviews for The Weem Inn

Review 1:They should advertise the bar and restaurant, really cosy and quirky.

Review 2:Wish we had more time to enjoy the cosy and authentic lounge and bar area. The whole place felt homely and full of character.

Review 3:Only food served was small breakfast. Be good to have bar meals? TV signal in rooms not good.

Review 4:How laid back atmosphere helped us to relax. The quirkyNess of the hotel made it a bit special. The prices are fab and being able to self cater in the hotel kitchen is quite novel. Lovely bar, open fire and friendly service

Review 5:Very friendly, liked the cosy lounge and log fire, great to have access to an area to prepare our own food in and be able to sit in the dining room to eat. Very good for travelling with a dog.

Review 6:Not sure who was staff and who were guests as some guests were making their own breakfast. I had to look for someone to pay my bill on departure, very relaxed attitude to guests

Review 7:The old place has an unmatched charm. The new owners are friendly and helpful. It was a good value. Coming to Scotland, many places have been renovated and lost their charm - The Weem Inn has kept it. It is in a quiet place near Aberfeldy without the noise. Felt homey and peaceful.

Review 8:Property is tired and presentation is untidy and uninviting. The bedrooms do not meet minimum standards expected.. Staff are complacent, lacking customer service skills.

Review 9:No chef/cook or housekeeper . Bed not made. No TV. Cooked b/fast 1egg 2 bacon & couple cherry toms. Like the owners - old & tired requires inv in management ,staff & refurbishment!!!!

Review 10:Getting out of the dump

Review 11:It was extremely hot in the room as the heating was on in a very small room, couldnt open a window as it was broken. Towels are very small. The place smelt mufti.

Review 12:This is an old-fashioned (in a good way), cosy, friendly place. If you are looking for a standardised hotel room with everything new and perfect, don't come - but if you want something a bit different, it's just fine and good value.

Review 13:The 'hotel' was nothing short of a disgrace. I stayed there for 5 nights and although a sign says that my towels would be changed daily, they weren't changed once, I had to ask. It was completely run down and for the price I payed for it the standards were shocking. I would not recommend the place to anyone. It was my worst experience in what I can only call a hostel NOT a hotel. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was crawling with huge spiders, the TV didn't work and would have been too far up to see anyway, there was little to no wifi connection and in general was a completely miserable experience.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:Uncomfortable beds, spiderweb over celling, TV didn't work, horrible rooms with chavy old furniture. Extremely rude waiter serving breakfast. Totally overpriced "hotel" and bar. We've paid £8 for 2 beers in this village bar! We pay less in York city centre. It's not even worth £5 per person. Their "continental" breakfast is made of about 10 slices of something like salami, some cheese, 10 cherry tomatoes, jar of Nutella for whole hotel. They charge £7.50 for that. We've asked for money back and said that this is the worst place we've ever been and this waiter started to laugh! We got just our £15 back and drove off hungry and disgusted. Other 2 guys did the same.

Review 16:That wifi was working

Review 17:This is not an hotel or inn. Does not serve breakfast oralcohol.although a kitchen cum laundry like a hostel is available. Wewere told young travellers do work here for free accommodation and itlooks like it. No room service. The towelswere like Dishrags. Justrubbish. There was a huge spider in our room and the owner had a dogwith biting tendency. In short the owners had their moments butdefinately not value for money. We felt ripped off. Beautiful old hotelbut badly in need of care.

Review 18:Close to standing stones and other tourist venues

Review 19:Poorest service ever. Nothing worked. TV had not been in service for years by the look of it. No wifi, no restaurant or lounge. Has not been in serve for at least 3 years. No towels or washcloths available in the room. Continental breakfast was non existent. Shared kitchen laundry was a disaster. Facility was totally not maintained. Hotel association should condemn and put a Closure to this facility if there is such a thing in Scotland.

Review 20:Nothing, location ok

Review 21:I was disappointed to pay £57 for a single occupancy room when the sign outside stating rooms were £29

Review 22:I was in town bcoz my first triathlon and the room fitted my needs

Review 23:No maid. The room wasn't cleaned or buckets emptied. I had to make my own bed. The television didn't work at all and WiFi was poor. The shower didn't work. Don,t book Room 3

Review 24:No comment.

Review 25:I realised after booking that the £80 I'd paid for a double room did not include breakfast, which turned what seemed a reasonable price into poor value - but as we needed a room in the area and we'd left it late to book, there wasn't much alternative. However, it didn't live up to even modest expectations. We had to fetch our own towels, there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, the TV was not working, the window hadn't been cleaned for months (and wouldn't close - luckily it was quite warm). We were also asked to pay up front, and I can see why. Friends of ours who were also staying did speak to the owner and negotiated a partial discount, which made the price more reasonable for what we were offered, but overall this was not a pleasant or relaxing experience. (Their room also had a non-working TV and only one light worked.) Definitely more of a hostel than a hotel (and I understand most of the bookings are for groups), but the price for individual bookings needs to be lowered to reflect what is on offer. I don't think this should be categorised under 'hotels' on booking.com.

Review 26:Good location, quiet, good shower.

Review 27:Sadly this hotel has become very run down. It was more of a hostel (towels and loo roll to be found on the landing, no glass, tea/coffee facilities in room. Breakfast was a few plates of cheese and cold meat on the disused bar to help your self to and hot water for tea from an urn on a table). If this hotel was listed as a hostel and charging hostel prices I'd be happy staying here but to pay £95 for basically a bed with no facilities was very disappointing. It was also very dusty and shabby looking. Dear old Ben was a lovely dog but he did leave rather a lot of hair about the place. It was all rather a shame as I could imagine this place was beautiful in its day. All I can say is please don't fool people into thinking that this is a quality hotel when it isn't. Sell it how it is.

Review 28:Very accommodating, comfortable and friendly place.

Review 29:We love how they've kept the olde look of the place

Review 30:felt like it was run on a budget.

Review 31:cosy feel to the hotel.

Review 33:No meals served
