Reviews for Hotel des 4 Soeurs
Review 1:The hotel is very tired looking and a bit grubby, especially in the bathroom. There is no safe or tea and coffee making facilities. WiFi signal very poor. Certainly not value for money. Would not rate this as high as a 3 star.
Review 2:The location for the Christmas Market was great. The receptionist upon our arrival was very friendly and professional.
Review 3:This little hotel is perfectly placed for visiting the centre of Bordeaux and the markets and tram terminus. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the choice for breakfast is very good
Review 4:The room was very small. Only 12 sq. m. The furniture was a bit old and worn out. The hotel need some refurbishing.
Review 5:The locatipn was perfect. Right in the middle of the city center. Walkinf distance to all major places of interest
Review 6:Showers need fixing better to the wall but no big deal
Review 7:Superb situation. 1 min from Tourist Office, (starting point for excellent wine tours) very much in the heart of Bordeaux .Opera house only 2 minutes away. Staff very helpful in booking wine bars and restaurants
Review 8:No dislikes but would have liked a shower head holder. Plus drinks making facilities in the room.
Review 9:Great central location and lots of character. Really friendly staff. Size of room was excellent value - we booked a twin room. Overlooked the main square which was busy but double glazed windows were perfect.
Review 10:Location, location and again - location. You can't be more in the centre. Plus despite the fact that the hotel is right in the heart of the town and the tram ways are in front of the hotel - due to double windows it's pretty quiet in the room so ask for a room with the view - you won't be disappointed.
Review 11:The hotel is simply furnished and the beds extremely comfortable, internet worked and staff were helpful. It is necessary to step over the very tall bath to access the shower but the surfaces are non slip which reduces the stress factor. Shower and water pressure are excellent. It's a few steps from the Tourism office and there are great restaurants, wine cellars etc virtually at the door.
Review 12:In the middel of town with easy access to the tram stations and easy to walk to most attractions from the hotel. Staff members were helpful and friendly.
Review 13:The room allocated when we returned was grubby and stuff - I couldn't wait to get out - so the moral is choose an external room on the top floor.
Review 14:We stayed in 2 different room as the beginning and end of the trip. The first room was basic but clean and light and airy and I would have scored the hotel higher - it's unspoilt and not a uniform boutique hotel - old fashioned carpet in the corridors and paintings are great - BUT when we returned it was a different story - see dislikes.
Review 15:On arrival we were told we had booked two rooms which we disputed and showed our booking but were told we had to pay for both rooms. No manager available to complain to, but eventually given a key to a room .Lift was the smallest ever-it would accommodate two normal people or one large person and one bag..The room was the same 11ft x 9ft with the bedding stopping the bathroom door closing. and with the bed against the wall - if one person had to get up in the night then you both got up as you had to crawl across your partner to get out of bed. When sitting on the toilet your knees were touching the wall. Tiling to the step up into the shower was very slippery with nothing to hold onto and very dangerous. In the morning we were given the bill for one room without comment and no apologies. We would never stay there again
Review 16:Location was good
Review 17:Rooms are simple, clean, but a little small. Not that it really matters since you don't want to stay in your room anyway.
Review 18:The location for the price is unbeatable. It was so handy to have the tourist information office right next door, the public gardens, tram, all right on our doorstep. The rates were very reasonable.
Review 19:The hotel is rated 3-star, which is a joke. Beds are terrible, one blanket was only to my knees, while another of normal size, show is broken. We booked a room with one bed, but given what was available (per receptionist). For breakfast they don't have coffee machine. We were glad we were staying only one day
Review 20:The only good thing about this hotel is the location
Review 21:The location of this hotel is superb. Walking distance to river, all major sights and next to transport, tourist shops and everything you could need. The staff are really helpful and extremely pleasant.
Review 22:Location is great. Had to stay 1 night at other hotel (because of some water works at our room), but manager upgraded our 2nd night to deluxe room, and didn't charge at all for 1st night. So personnel is good and responsible, location is great. Will definitely come back.
Review 23:It's a bit old fashioned - rooms hadn't changed since my visit for World Cup in 1998!
Review 24:Great city centre location - handy for bus terminal a it's clean, friendly and affordable.
Review 25:Very pricey for a small basic room with ensuite. Parking was incredibly expensive despite "deal" with local carpark tat Carpark knew nothing about. Don't know how they got 3 star rating.
Review 26:Location was very central
Review 27:Breakfast was terrible - we weren't late but coffee, cereal and croissants had run out. I had to clear my own table to we could have a table. No staff seemed to be available to ask for things to be refilled.
Review 28:Staff were really, really helpful when I had trouble with a taxi.
Review 29:Shower curtain in our room was broken. Hair dryer didn't work and there was dust in top. Coffee was very bitter at breakfast.
Review 30:Location and staff were excellent. Nice period hotel.
Review 31:Breakfast was a little poor for the price charged (11 euros)
Review 32:The very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, the quiet and comfortable air conditioned room and the location, which is unbeatable
Review 33:Pretty small but functional room. Over-bath shower and curtain a bit old hat nowadays. Maybe being picky as nothing really wrong with room but could do with a refurb to brighten it up.
Review 34:Excellent central location.
Review 35:Nothing!
Review 36:Fantastic location, good price. Definitely excellent value for money, especially if you just want a clean, working room to base yourself out when sightseeing.
Review 37:Very small and cramped room, very outdated Decore and furnishings. Curtains come off the hooks, only had hand held shower head
Review 38:Located well in the centre of Bordeaux next to tourism office, sound proof rooms
Review 39:Had small older room with old bed at back of hotel looking out on back of other old buildings. Maybe the front rooms were nicer.
Review 40:Excellent hotel location. Looks great from outside. Restaurant at door we used twice. Staff lovely.
Review 41:If you have a room on the square, the view is incredible, but the street noise can be loud at night with the windows open.
Review 42:In addition to an unbeatable location, this hotel had a very helpful staff, who held our bags between stays at no cost. Big bathtubs are a nice plus!
Review 43:Nothing.
Review 44:The staff were brilliant : found a place to store our cycles overnight and even helped us carry them up a flight of stairs. The location is probably the best in Bordeaux - bang in the centre. Great, great value for money - though we didn't take the breakfast. Would definitely return.
Review 45:It's very very close to where the number 1 bus finishes from the airport and also right in the centre of everything. Staff friendly! Room quiet and very spacious!
Review 46:Parking was 1/2 mile away so if you are driving, just be prepared to drop off all of your bags first and park and walk a little.
Review 47:A safe and secure location with available staff to assist. Room was unusually large for a city location though the decor was a little bit un-inspired. We had a nice view of the main square and the double windows, while unusual, did make for a very quiet room.
Review 48:The hotel is tired - pictures of the rooms were taken a long time ago, or at least of my room! No duvet - blanket and sheet and bedspread.
Review 49:The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's incredibly easy to get to with the bus from the airport and close to the river and main tourist sites.
Review 50:Ideal central location in Bordeaux. Staff were particularly helpful. When we arrived the lift was being serviced and the female receptionist carried our bags up three flights of stairs so that we didn't have to wait for them - above and beyond the call of duty! Perfect for a short stay and would definitely stay here again.
Review 51:Hotel room slightly dated - lift tiny (I guess what you expect in a city centre location) but necessitated several trips to get luggage to room!
Review 52:Location was ideal right in the City centre and close to many restaurants, bars, etc - helpful, friendly staff - car parking was a short walk away but functional and good value
Review 53:Reception staff. I paid the night before I check out as I had to leave early. On the departure day, I told the gentlemen at reception that I had paid and he told me straight 'no you have not' and stood by that until I took out my receipts. Extremely rude and no apology for his very obvious mistake.
Review 54:The location could not be better, being close to restaurants, tourist information office and public transport The superior room was spacious and had an excellent view.
Review 55:My clients were definitely disappointed in this property. I had 3 couples staying here and their rooms were all full of mold. Please let me know who I can contact to get my clients fair compensation. Sincerely, Donna Campbell Manager Travel Leaders of Naperville
Review 56:Location was great ,just in the centre of the city . Receptionists were really great , trying to help us always. I here thank again to Annabelle and Paul . Room charges are very reasonable.
Review 57:The price, quality and location i wouldn't complain at all. I would even go back there...
Review 58:Located just off the main shopping district which means a good night sleep and everything just 1 minute away! The Tourism Office is just next door which means easy bookings for activities etc. The staff are very friendly and willing to offer recommendarions.
Review 59:Nothing to fault.
Review 60:This hotel is in a very convenient location that is handy to tram routes, the Grand Theatre, as well as the centre of the old town. From here you can easily explore the heart of Bordeaux.
Review 61:The smoking area is located in the courtyard. That's strange because tobacco smoke flows directly in the room through the window. Fortunately, there were not too many smokers in the hotel during my stay...
Review 62:Excellent location, spacious room, convenient air conditioning system
Review 63:No tea or coffee facilities in rooms. Tired decor
Review 64:Great soundproofing which proved essential for music festival weekend! Large comfortable double beds. Big room. Helpful staff Smoking courtyard - great idea.

Review 108:Good location,friendly staff.
Review 109:A bit of an exaggeration to describe the rear facing rooms as 'courtyard' facing.
