Reviews for Hôtel Aux Tamaris

Review 1:A modern contemporary interior, clean and pleasant surroundings, terrific view across to the Isle de Batz. A great continental breakfast with terrific croissants!

Review 2:Lovely room comfy bed quiet Sea view. Room was small but very beautifully decorated - and the hotel themed with a maritime feel. Friendly staff. Easy to park nearby.

Review 3:Lovely welcome, parking outside, bedroom small but modern and comfortable. Beautiful view of the sea. 5 min walk to all the Roscoff restaurants and 5 min drive to port.

Review 4:Not applicable, but only minor drawback was the relatively small size of the room.

Review 5:Proximity to town centre facilities. Beautiful views over the coast and sea. Clean, interesting and well decorated rooms.

Review 6:The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and brought up a tray with kettle, cups, milk and posh tea bags when we requested one. The room was small but beautifully clean. Hotel was quiet and in excellent position. Very handy for the ferry.

Review 7:The hotel is in a wonderful location overlooking the sea, yet only 5 minutes walk into the town centre. The interior was tasteful, comfortable and relaxing. The English speaking staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 8:The only downside for us was the bedroom. We had booked a Cruise Room overlooking the garden, one of only a few rooms left. Although clean with a nice en-suite bathroom, it was very small and austere although the mural behind the bed helped lift it a little. There were no wardrobes as such, just cupboards built into the wall with curtains to hide the clothes. The view was to the garden but immediately outside was a flat roof below and wall to the side. Having stayed in several French hotels, old and new, we felt that it didn't offer value the value for money we expected. Had the sea view rooms been available I would have booked one in preference and I suspect our feelings would have been somewhat different.

Review 9:The manager was very helpful and friendly, always a great start to any stay. We had a few issue with the wifi but this was quickly solved. Once working it was great to be connected. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on the food but the dining area was clean and pleasant. The lounge also, lovely views out to the Île de Batz. The binoculars were a nice touch. The location was excellent, just a 5 minute walk into the town centre and harbour area. Parking was OK but even in October we had to hunt. However, once we found a space it was free for the duration of our stay. We also found a lovely restaurant, La Moule au Pot, just 150m from the hotel on the walk into town. Well worth a visit.

Review 10:The double room on the first floor was very dated. Very poorly furnished. The bed and carpet had certainly seen better days.

Review 11:Nice staff. Great location for very short stroll into town and for very short drive to ferry port

Review 12:Great location in Roscoff. Wonderful views over Ile de Batz. Very appealing decor throughout. Staff could not have been more helpful. Excellent wi-fi facilities. Good breakfasts constantly topped up by staff.

Review 13:The room we had smelt musty and damp. I think because the bathroom did not have a window and the ventilation (Expel Air) was not up to the job.

Review 14:Staff were pleasant and the breakfasts were good

Review 15:No restaurant or bar so impossible to have any refreshments when got back from dinner. The room was very small which made it a little awkward with the dog in there as well!

Review 16:Good central location. We were given a room very close to the exit making it easy to take our dog out for her evening and morning walks!

Review 17:Tiny french bath!

Review 18:Situated on the sea front on a quiet road within walking distance of the centre. Free parking. Very comfortable bed, compact but pretty room. Excellent buffet breakfast (€10) and sea views Helpful staff

Review 19:Room quite small (but very nicely decorated) would have been cramped for a longer stay, but I think these rooms are for a one night / short stay.

Review 20:A perfect overnight stop after the ferry crossing. Very friendly and welcoming staff, free parking.

Review 21:Room a little small and soundproofing very poor as able to hear people walking above and talking in next room.

Review 22:Friendly staff and comfortable bed. Good location with nice sea views. Breakfast was exceptional.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:The warm welcome when we arrived , room was spotless ,a great breakfast while we sat looking out to sea , will certainly stay again and for longer

Review 25:Our room was very small. The hotel was tired and dated. For some reason all the ceilings were covered in sailcloth. Something in this hotel caused me to have a serious allergic attack which stopped as soon as I went out into the fresh air. We would not stop here again.

Review 26:Convenient for a stop for the Plymouth roscoff ferry.

Review 27:Room was tiny. If you want a room with a view make sure you upgrade or check when booking. It was suggested kettles were available on request but when we asked for one, none available.

Review 28:Location and closeness to the ferry terminal. Great view from the breakfast room.

Review 29:Shower and bath very small and pillows uncomfortable.

Review 30:The location and boutique style, yet nautical. Handpainted murals were beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 31:Nothing.

Review 32:Very friendly chap on reception. Peaceful location. Had everything you needed. Very clean. Free parking right outside the hotel. Sea view.

Review 33:The room was a little small and noisy due to a generator starting and stopping throughout the night

Review 34:Good location overlooking the sea and the owner and staff were very helpful A good breakfast and a relaxed place to stay.

Review 35:The staff are friendly, and they gave great restaurant recommendations. The hotel was clean and well presented, I really cannot recommend it highly enough.

Review 36:Tiny, tiny room, difficult to get in with a case Narrow bed No food ordrink when we arrived. 10 pm

Review 37:Location opposite beach Apologetic receptionist

Review 38:Just stayed one night before we caught morning ferry but would stay again for a long weekend as Roscoff lovely and lots to do Staff and hotel good

Review 39:We had to leave!!!! Could have stayed longer.

Review 40:Love this small friendly hotel, can't fault it. We had a sea view and the views were lovely. It is out of the main part of the town but still 5 mins walk from all the amenities and restaurants.

Review 41:Customer service excellent, quirky family room a real treat, location great. Would highly recommend particularly if travelling to/from ferry. A lovely experience to end the holiday on.

Review 42:The beds and roos were good however we travelled with our children and the information said we could not use family rooms due to the age of the children, it was frustrating that when we got there 2 of our rooms had extra beds this would have meant we could have had one room less which would have mead a considerable difference to our budget whic with a large family is a key issue

Review 43:Parking can be tricky in the daytime if Roscoff is busy, but it's quiet after 6 o'clock.

Review 44:The hotel was great, excellent location/views and the owners were lovely. Breakfast was really good too!

Review 45:The hotel is charming and offered a very warm welcome from reception. Nothing was too much trouble and all requirements were met; even a bedroom tray of tea is available on request. Our overnight stay was a delight from start to finish with a delicious and varied breakfast.

Review 46:No view from our window, although for the one night, it was not a problem.

Review 47:Staff very helpful and friendly, the hotel was presented beautifully. It was clean and bright. The bathroom had everything you'd need and all worked well.

Review 48:Nothing to dislike. We did not have breakfast so are unable to make a comment on that, but the restaurant room looked out across the sea.

Review 49:The staff that we saw were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome on our arrival. Our room was very quiet and comfortable, and was most satisfactory for our overnight stay.

Review 50:I know you don't get it much in France, but I did miss a cooked breakfast! Some egg at least would have been nice.

Review 51:Short walk to town and the boat to the Ile de Batz. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable. Good value and tasty breakfast. Our 3 year old was very welcomed, which doesn't happen in all hotels.

Review 52:Weather was cold & wet. Would have been nice if we could have had dinner in the hotel. Would have preferred a room on the first floor,

Review 53:Position of the hotel overlooking the sea.Staff very friendly and all spoke English.

Review 54:Hotel location great sunsets and great welcome. Roscoff has so much to offer and the townspeople are very friendly and helpful. There is always someting happening in Roscoff!

Review 55:Nothing to dislike.

Review 56:The location over looking the pretty Ile de Batz. Stunning sea views in a superb and well managed hotel with friendly staff. The rooms although not large were decorated and maintained to high standard. The sea view rooms are a must.

Review 57:Not much, perhaps the lateral soundproofing between rooms as you can hear doors opening or TV being switched on.

Review 58:The hotel overlooks the sea and Isle De Batz and is uniquely and tastefully decorated throughout in a nautical theme with extreme attention to detail. The staff are courteous and helpful and the breakfast has a wide range of choices. Location is quiet witout passing traffic and yet the town centre is literally 5 minutes walk.

Review 59:No negatives.

Review 60:We've stayed here before and really like it.the location is excellent and there's a great view to the Ile De Batz. The rooms are well presented and the staff have always been friendly and helpful.

Review 61:Visited early April bring warm clothes as it was cold and windy outside.

Review 62:View of the sea from our room and the breakfast along with its sea view. Warm and cozy feel

Review 63:Nothing-above expectations and a truly wonderful break

Review 64:the hotel was exceptionally clean, great location and lovely, helpful staff. Would definitely stay again and again!

Review 65:Small 'stopover' room but only for one night. Slight smell of dampness but cause not obvious.

Review 66:Convenient location in town. Good view. Nice facilities and decor.

Review 67:We have stayed several times @this very special beautifully located waterside small hotel. This comfortable, quiet, exceedingly well furnished and decorated hotel is the perfect place to stay in Roscoff. The generous and delicious self service breakfast is enjoying from a dining room that has a spectacular panoramic sea view.

Review 68:The only drawback was the circuitous route to get to the hotel because of the one way system but if you have a satnav, it is no problem and once you have arrived, it is easy to walk along the beach or stroll into the town

Review 69:Welcome by staff Free wifi Comfortable room Excellent shower room View from hotel Location just a stroll away from the town

Review 70:The room was extremely small, with hardly enough room to get along the sides of the double bed. The window overlooked a small rear courtyard which was used for smoking and cigarette smoke drifted into our room. We do not smoke. There was no tea and coffee making equipment in the room.

Review 71:Quiet location, very easy walking distance to the centre of Roscoff where we had a good evening meal. Our room had recently been updated and was clean and the bed comfortable.

Review 72:Everything was just how we liked it.

Review 73:The lady owner was most helpful and looked after our welfare, during our stay. The decor was lovely and our room looked directly out at the Ile de Raz

Review 74:Discrepancy between price on confirmation of booking from Booking.com and the price on the proforma invoice from Booking.com

Review 75:Hotel has superb view Has excellent staff Offers great breakfast

Review 76:Wonderful location, first class staff, fresh clean white bedding. Nothing can be faulted. Have been to Tamaris several times and will certainly be back again. Always our first choice for Roscoff - and always a perfect end to our holidays in France.

Review 77:Bike parking available but not covered and not hugely accessible!

Review 78:Only a flying overnight visit, but the location was good and staff were brilliant. Excellent local beer available.

Review 79:Price agreed on Booking.com was different to price on checkout. The staff member on morning of checkout was the breakfast staff and English poor so didn't argue the point. 10 euro difference not the end of the world but wouldn't recommend or stay here again based on this. Also no evening meal for a 3star this is expected.

Review 80:Really liked the theme of hotel. Comfortable stay.

Review 81:The bathroom was a bit of a squeeze, but it's an older characterful building so you don't expect spacious bathrooms. No complaints at all.

Review 82:A lovely little hotel, just a short walk into the centre of Roscoff and with a wonderful sea view from our room. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 83:Because it was very windy, couldn't find a way to have fresh air at night - (we really need to have window open at night). Parking close to hotel very restricted - needed to walk 300m to a car park (not so good if you have arthritic joint) Room a bit dark because window high up. No restaurant.

Review 84:The superb sea view, the comfortable bed. peaceful atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff, good shower, cleanliness.

Review 85:Thought breakfast was too expensive at 10.50 Euros, so didn't have any there.

Review 86:Lovely, helpful receptionist (Christophe). Small but beautifully furnished, clean room with comfy bed. Spotless bathroom.

Review 87:Very friendly bilingual receptionist. Interesting decor. Convenient location for ferry and easy parking. Outstanding scenery looking over to Iles de Batz. Lively little town with lots of shops and restaurants.

Review 88:Excellent greeting on arrival, nothing was too mush trouble. As we hard a 7am start we were offered the coffee and croissant breakfast. Room was spotlessly clean, small but for overnight it was fine .Brilliant location. Would stay again.

Review 89:- slightly small rooms...but honestly I am just nagging

Review 90:- Staff - Cleanliness - Quality of in-room facilities - Breakfast - View - Location - Decoration

Review 91:- just the windy weather, but that was St Peter's fault - it has nothing to do with the hotel or the charming town...

Review 92:- the staff was "trés simpathique" - great location - the decoration

Review 93:Ordered a room with sea view expecting full sized windows. Instead we had a small window and had to stand to view the sea. Having booked on the internet we hadn't appreciated there were two diff 'sea view' rooms at diff prices

Review 94:Loved the location. Liked the quirky decorations. Breakfast was excellent

Review 95:Nothing !

Review 96:Excellent location for exploring the pretty town of Roscoff. Short drive to cross channel ferry. Parking off road immediately in front of hotel. Short walk to Isle de Batz ferry. Superb interior design & ambience. Genial welcome & host. Excellent & comprehensive breakfast menu.

Review 97:Room had a very slight odour of staleness but in no way a problem and wifi was a little bit flakey at times.

Review 98:We stayed here for a night last night as part of a long-route journey to the south of France for a wedding. Unfortunately I got ill a few days before arriving at Tamaris. Upon arrival first thing in the morning my (new!) wife who is much more fluent in French than I explained that I was ill and asked whether they had a room available early. They cordially got a room ready several hours ahead of schedule. The next morning they arranged for a Dr appointment for me at the fantastic surgery two doors away. I was seen almost immediately! The staff at the hotel seemed to genuinely care - very impressed! Aside from that, I understand (I wasn't eating but my wife was) breakfast included fantastic local jam and the bed is unusually generous in size. The view is fantastic.

Review 99:Leaving ! Meant having to go back to work !

Review 100:Excellent location and views. Quiet but within easy walk to the town. We've only ever passed through Roscoff while leaving or catching the ferry but decided to stay here over night instead of the rush to catch the ferry home. What a lovely town. We pleasantly surprised. Our accommodation was very well presented and we welcomed warmly even though we were staying just the one night. Thoroughly recommend.

Review 101:Nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable little hotel. Very close to city center but in quiet area of Roscoff. Friendly staff. Great value price. Plenty of public parking in quiet street in front of hotel. Definitely go for the sea-view rooms! Would absolutely recommend.

Review 102:The owner/Manager was Courteous and friendly, and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The Breakfast facilities were excellent. Whatever we needed was available

Review 103:Sail theme is overwhelming (it's in every room). Our room was too small for five nights. And it had Mosquitos. Not a good thing. Limited amenities, ie: no facial tissue or wash cloths! Wifi signal was poor in our room.

Review 104:Wonderful location with cheery staff. Very accommodating!

Review 105:Room was small, bed close to radiator ( difficult to get past ). Slope of ceiling very close to dressing table.

Review 106:Very convenient for town and ferry port. Staff very attentive and courteous .

Review 107:Helpful & friendly staff - very comfortable bed in room with stunning view over to l'ile de Batz Breakfast buffet well presented & adequate Would stay here again & recommend highly.

Review 108:An excellent hotel which makes one feel more than welcome whatever your needs, nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful breakfast which can be enjoyed looking out at Enez Vaz. Will certainly return when in Rosko again.

Review 109:pity we couldn't stay longer!

Review 110:great staff, great location and spotlessly clean. 2nd visit for us and won't be our last.

Review 111:Great position Convenient for ferry Helpful staff Nice room lovely view

Review 112:Due to strong winds couldn't secure shutters open to enjoy the view

Review 113:Lovely location with views over the bay

Review 114:A very stylish hotel in a wonderful sea view position, within easy walking distance to the town.

Review 115:Just a little noisy as walls thin but for stop-over it was good.

Review 116:Lovely welcome and clean, comfortable room.

Review 117:Friendly staff, comfortable room. My third visit and will certainly return

Review 118:A great location on the seafront at Roscoff and very convenient for the ferry port. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 119:Clean comfortable room Friendly and helpful concierge

Review 120:Friendly lovely views

Review 121:Lack of early breakfast

Review 122:Location and pleasant staff. Cost.

Review 123:Bar closing at 9 pm when we only arrived at 8.30

Review 124:Ambience,
