Reviews for La Maison d'Uzès

Review 1:Having been driving for over six hours we found La Maison d'Uzes on the internet and booked it from the car - and were SO happy we did! This hotel is outstandingly comfortable. The rooms are beautifully decorated, beds extremely comfortable with the biggest pillows I've ever seen in my life & gorgeous bathrooms. All stunningly renovated with lots of natural stone. They even provide an ipad. The receptionist and manager went above & beyond & were SO helpful & friendly - and extremely welcoming & even waved us off at the end of our stay with two bottles of water & some cakes for our onward journey. My husband has a very restricted diet & the chef rustled up a gorgeous dinner especially for us. They parked our car for us in a secure car park. The spa looked absolutely gorgeous & I only wish we'd had time to stay another night to have a massage and a Roman bath! The location is perfect too - right in the middle of the old town & next to the castle - perfect! I highly recommend this hotel - don't hesitate to book! We will be back for sure!

Review 2:Parking is best left to the staff. You can leave your car outside the hotel and a staff member will valet park it. Not a problem really because Uzes is a town to explore and enjoy on foot.

Review 3:Hotel is located in the "protected" sector of Uzes and is one o the sector's many marvelous historical buildings. Restaurant, spa and staff are all a delight

Review 4:I did not like my room which was tiny and squeezed into a corner of the staircase. Bathroom was very dangerous for an older person as very easy to slip with no grab rail and no bell so if one had fallen there was no earthly way I could have got up or let anyone know. The iron thin sharp latch on the back of the bathroom door continually gave the back of my arm nasty gashes as I came out so that my shirt was being splashed with blood. Disappointing room though quiet with comfortable bed.

Review 5:the staff were fantastic - helpful and kind at all times - the location was good but the room Ecrin was terrible and not at all good value - literally squeezed into a corner of the staircase and very dangerous for an older person as no grab rails in tiny slippery bathroom so if I had slipped no bell to ring and no earthly way of getting up and the catch on the handle on the outside of the door was lethal as each time you turned around coming out of the bathroom the long thin sharp iron tongue of the latch caught you giving nasty gashes on the back of ones upper arm so shirts were continually covered in mysterious blood! No swimming pool even though the web site gave one to believe that there was one. The breakfast (continental) was very good though expensive. The cappuccino was not good with the skin of boiled milk forming in clumps but the green tea was very good.

Review 6:No tonic for the gin !!!!!

Review 7:The staff, the reception, the helpfulness, the valet parking, the dinner in the courtyard, the room and toiletries.... the overall feeling that someone has spent a deal of money to make us comfortable

Review 8:They allow smokers to smoke in their restaurant. For me this is unacceptable.

Review 9:the boutique size of the hotel but with all the creature comforts real five star accomodation and service with a smile. Nothing was too hard or inconvenient for the owner and staff members, They all speak and understand english and where not possible communication was never a problem. Facilities great, No pool or gym but had a hot bath and massgae facilities in the hotel. parking available at a cost. centrlly located in the middle of Uzes, a delightful and enchanting town. A great hotel to destress and allow your senses to meld with the ambience of the establishment.

Review 10:The staff are excellent and friendly, the rooms lovely, the building carefully restored, the spa/hammam is underground, in vaulted chambers and perfect. And the restaurant not to be missed

Review 11:if you have a broad car you might consider not to drive to the hotel front; the streets in the old town are partly very narrow...

Review 12:location very central, very tastefully renovated and furnished, excellent and friendly crew, manager/owner personally around and helping out. restaurant on very high level.

Review 13:Arriving by car difficult with narrow streets. Climbing stairway 2 flights to room hard.

Review 14:Very convenient to center of old town. Could walk everywhere the staff especially the director were exceptionally acomadating to our needs .beautifully restored historic site.

Review 15:Everything was great! This is a beautiful property in a charming town. My husband and I could not gave been happier with our visit to La Maison d'Uzes. The accommodations and staff were first class. Our stay will always be a fond memory.

Review 16:We did not dislike anything.

Review 17:The lovely room. Wonderful lunch, for a very reasonable price, at the restaurant. We are still talking about the excellent meal. The care and attention of every staff member. The spa. Thank you to Arnaud (sp?) and everyone else at La Maison d'Uzes who helped make our stay most enjoyable.

Review 18:Nothing to report

Review 19:Loved the attentiveness of the staff. The chef is a rising star - what he does with flavours is shear magic! The bedroom, La Fenestrelle, was heavenly - the design exquisite and the bathroom magnificent! The location is excellent. 10 out of 10 - exceptional!
