Reviews for Weston Hall
Review 1:Hotel was beautiful, staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was amazing and so reasonably priced. All in all we loved it will definitely be back. We stayed the night and the amenities were first class.
Review 2:We had our wedding here and everything went perfectly the staff were brilliant the food wonderful and the rooms very spacious and comfortable the day was magical and the building and grounds so lovely everyone at Weston Hall made our Wedding a very memorable one.
Review 3:Room smelt as if not cleaned properly or as if sheets not clean. No signage for where reception is and tried several doors before Cellar Bar produced results. Reception provided by waiting staff busy serving food and collecting payment.
Review 4:Lovely looking property
Review 5:Check in confusing No help with luggage up many steps Awful pillows on bed Light from ceiling shining in face all night Poor light in bedroom Poor breakfast had to pay extra for cooked option
Review 6:Location
Review 7:Absolutely stunning hotel, fantastic room and the food was lovely and large portions. The drinks were reasonably priced with a great selection. Great romantic location.
Review 8:We parked on the side of the building near the conservatory. It was raining and getting dark. The side entrance appeared to open up into a restaurant area so we though we might need to go to the front of the building to find the reception. We walked down the walkway and there was a short step, maybe about 4-6 inches deep. It was not obvious because of the pattern of the flagstones. I did not recognize there was a step there and fell, hitting my knee, shoulder, elbow and head. As it turned out the entrance to the reception was the first door we went to through the restaurant. I could not walk up the 3 flights of stairs to our room without my husbands help and needed to purchase a cane to get around for the rest of our trip. The entranceway to the reception should be clearly marked, and the walkway should have signage or some indication on the stones that there is a step-down.
Review 9:The room was very spacious , the bed comfortable and the view from the windows was lovely. The bathroom was very functional and comfortable to use. We ate dinner at the restaurant and because it was a very long wait between appetizers and dinner, the hotel discounted our meal which we appreciated very much.
Review 10:Shower not working properly. Hotel did not have any arrangements with a local taxi company and were unable to arrange one for us. English breakfast not included in room price.
Review 11:Hotel location excellent and standard of room and bar were very good. All but one member of staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 12:It's isolated if you're staying longer than one night. Also on checkout I was told by the member of staff that they don't do late checkouts, despite me having an email from Jenny Wilmot (Event Manager) saying we could check out at 12pm. I was told 'That's starnge as we don't do that.'
Review 13:Most of the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was delicious although I would've expected fresh juice for the price, not from concentrate.
Review 14:We asked about food after a long day was told kitchen shut 15 mins ok. When asked for crisp etc we were told no they weren't a lover of that type of thing!
Review 15:Beautiful room and comfy bed. Stunning garden area to relax
Review 16:loud music playing from outside speakers until very late pumped drainage system in sghpwer room that sounded like an aircraft engine.
Review 17:room and views
Review 18:My only issue would be that having paid a fair sum of money for, admittedly, a superb facility, I would expect a full breakfast to be included in the price
Review 19:All good
Review 20:We booked into The Cellar to have a meal. It was beautiful then had cocktails in the bar served by Dom who was fantastic. Thank you all the staff at Weston Hall for a wonderful evening.
Review 21:I realise the problems associated with a listed building, and I acknowledge the willingness of the staff to provide manual assistance on stairs, but that is not an encouragement to stay.
Review 22:location, staff and bed
Review 23:Entered the room and it was freezing We had to put the heating on. In the morning the shower was so loud that you could hear it in the bedroom and everytime someone went to toilet from another room we could hear it not good at all plus checkout at 11am:(
Review 24:Peaceful
Review 25:No bad experience.. Only thing that wasn't as perfect as expected was the location.. Probably lack of googling on my part! I assumed it would be set back from main roads further... Though wasnt overly noisy and was helpful for finding it, so not necessarily a bad point!
Review 26:The bedroom was lovely! Clean and a good size.. Bed was comfy too! Didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that!
Review 27:Rooms are paper thin so it is impossible to avoid hearing people entering and leaving neighbouring rooms, even flushing the toilet is audible!!
Review 28:Excellent restaurant, good quality of food, lovely decor in rooms, very comfortable.
Review 29:I took my boyfriend here as a surprise for his birthday and he loved it. It has such a cosy, tranquil feel to it and a lovely touch to have a picnic basket in the bedroom as well. Just great and the staff was all very helpful especially in the cellar restaurant.
Review 30:Appalling plumbing with pumps and shower units sounding like a road drill trying to have children with a vacuum cleaner.
Review 31:Atmosphere and room size. Very good home cooked food. Excellent bar and conference roooms. Quirky old building.
Review 32:First reception and air conditioning in the hotel (always smell of kitchen everywhere).
Review 33:Dinner, location and 90% of very nice people in the hotel. Country view.
Review 34:Staff willing but a little offhand: perhaps need better training in customer relations for a hotel of this sort. Constant piped music in all public areas (including the garden) was intrusive and annoying and anachronistic for a historic house hotel. I generally like stylish old songs and performers (Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra etc) but not constantly, everywhere in circumstances where their music cannot be properly appreciated and is used simply for background noise.
Review 35:A splendid historic building in an imposing location: very nice decor, comfortable, well appointed and clean room.
Review 36:The staff really friendly and helpful. The room decent sized. The bed really comfy had a brilliant nights sleep.
Review 37:The whole stay. Thanks we have tried To book again next year but all full. No surprise. Fantastic.
Review 38:Unfortunately there was Strong smell of drains in the bathroom which soured the experience

Review 61:The shower has very little pressure , had to search for staff in the morning to check out
Review 62:very comfortable bed ,quiet location
Review 63:Everything .
Review 64:A bin in the room had not been emptied and the shower was rather insipid
Review 65:A reasonable price for a large room with nice views over the countryside
Review 66:Noisy guests in next door room between 3 and 5 in morning. Walls very thin.
Review 67:Meal, staff, room
Review 68:With only 8 rooms it might be fully booked all the time, but if you get a chance to go for dinner, cocktails or afternoon tea it truly is beautiful
Review 69:Comfy bed
Review 70:Good prices with a relaxing lounge area where the open fire added to the atmosphere
Review 71:Very poor shower
Review 72:Staff and location
Review 73:Wedding disco till 12 midnight very loud then the gardeners with leave blowers woke us up very early not great to be fair
Review 74:The staff are friendly and helpful the venue is charming and the surroundings are lovely.
Review 75:Staff, history, views
Review 76:Toilet and shower a little noisy
Review 77:Decor, ambience, food
Review 78:These are not complaints but our room was up 3 flights of stairs so not good for an older person. It was also in the roof so quite hot. The shower was not great as it didn't have much pressure. We loved our stay though and would recommend.
Review 79:Very comfortable beds and wonderfully clean. Staff very nice. Continental breakfast was lovely. Beautiful setting, lovely building, looks great for a wedding. The afternoon tea looks amazing so you must book that in advance. We came to watch Rod Stewart at Stoke Stadium so it wasn't the closest but near enough. (30-40 mins with speed cameras!)
Review 80:The very professional way. All the staff went about their work. All with a smile. The Weston suite was superb. All in all a first class place to stay in when one wants to spoil ones wife. Thanks to all the staff. John and Clare
Review 81:Everything - this is a beautiful building with friendly and outstanding staff - nothing too much trouble! Second time I have stopped and this hotel and will return time and time again - a real little haven - just love it!
Review 82:one of the staff in the dinning room 3 times forgot my order, and I told another member to get it. also all bedrooms are on the top floor several flight of stairs to clime .
Review 83:over all the house is set in a most tranquil setting and has the feel of a time gone by,
Review 84:The shower wasn't working very well with warm water. Need hot power shower to use for cost of the room rate prices.
Review 85:We like the area for quiet and relax even more. Friendly staff make us feel more welcome. Fantastic three course lunch very reasonable price.
Review 86:The shower in our room had no pressure and the temperature didnt stay constant, it would keep getting too hot or cold. Very noisy heating/hot water coming on at 5.45 in the morning, waking us both up. Cooked breakfast is an extra £12.95.
Review 87:Great location, great evening meal, attentive staff, lovely big, clean room. Cold buffet breakfast was very nice, expecially home made bread!
Review 88:The water in the room for the kettle was only a very small bottle, just enough for a tea cup sized drink each - but this criticism is only very minor!
Review 89:The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, food at the cellar restaurant was fantastic !
Review 90:Dinner was poor, although the restaurant was packed with locals, and breakfast was as bad as I've ever been offered in a hotel.
Review 91:Room was huge but apparently no choice of bath vs shower (we wanted a bath). Then the shower didn't actually work. The television was fine but quite small and we couldn't actually see it from the bed as the room was so big.
Review 92:As the building us very old there is some noise from the water pipes.
Review 93:Staff we're very helpful even though we stayed at a very busy time of year. Rooms very clean and well decorated. Great cooked breakfast.
Review 94:1. the food - especially vegetables = the pre-prepared frozen type and the crude quantities 2. puny shower - no power shower - needed on top floor
Review 95:Staff really helpful, the character of the building and comfort of the room and log fire in the bar area
Review 96:Room was very cold through the night with heating off
Review 97:The Hotel was very well situated. Restaurant was very good, Staff were most obliging. Everything was very clean. Room facilities were very good. Impressed - would def stay again.
Review 98:walls between rooms were paper thin, you could literally hear everything, sadly and probably the worst thing was the amount of children that were running around screaming and crying on the following morning while we were trying to sleep, although this isn't directly the hotels fault it really did ruin the stay over.
Review 99:The rooms were immaculate, the staff were extremely atentative, beautiful views and a well stocked bar.
Review 100:The room was fantastic, spacious, comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay again. We didn't eat in the main restaurant instead going to a local pub/restaurant but it looked great and will certainly be eating there the next time we stay.
Review 101:Access to the hotel rooms is difficult for the physically impaired. Local authority planners need to be more aware of access for all legislation.
Review 102:The staff
Review 103:As soon as you walk in the door it is apparent the staff provide an excellent atmosphere to stay in. Nothing is too much trouble. Building, rooms and grounds are immaculate making for a perfect visit.
Review 104:Soundproofing the rooms, slightly cheaper food and wine, cookedbreakfast option
Review 105:Decor, friendly helpful staff nothing was too much, bedroom, bathroom, restaurant, food.
Review 106:Having to leave.
Review 107:Everything was excellent, particularly the staff who seemed superbly-trained, polite and attentive. The room was stunningly beautiful and exceedingly comfortable, and there were magnificent views over the surrounding countryside.
Review 108:Great continental breakfast but no ccoked English breakfast!
Review 109:Situated in the beautiful Stafford countrysidee, newly renovated and spotless! Friendly staff and fabulous food - good value for money!
Review 110:There was nothing I didn't like
Review 111:Rooms were beautiful Lounge and bar were beautifully furnished and had retro games available which was a great touch. The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely and the food was delicious and great quality. The staff were fantastic. So helpful and friendly. I couldn't rate it more highly I will recommend to all of my friends.
Review 112:Not obvious where the hotel entrance was, a sign would have helped! The receptionist on arrival was a bit grumpy when this was pointed out!Entrance is through the cellar restaurant. Once booked in there is a side entrance that can only be accessed from inside. Therefore book in first before bringing in your bags or else you will be barging past diners in the restaurant with your suitcase! There is we discovered no hotel reception, everything is run from the bar. This gives the impression that the rooms are just an add on to the restaurant which is a little off putting. Our first room had an annoying buzzing sound (we were never sure from where) which kept us awake. However the housekeeper and manager the next day were very helpful and efficient and we were able to change rooms with minimal fuss.
Review 113:Lovely rooms which for £100 a night were excellent value with continental breakfast also included. Luxury bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The housekeeper and her staff were helpful and well organised. Restaurant also good value/good quality. Menu "top end" pub food.
Review 114:I booked this venue for hubbies 60th birthday, there were 26 guests for the evening meal all went well , no complaints regarding the meals served everybody enjoyed the choice they made, well done chef!! a little puzzled over the reference to "little legs strawberry cheesecake"what were the legs? I would recomend this venue for the curtious service and really good food. hubbie and i stayed overnight everything was .comfortable and quiet .Thanks to all the chefs and all staff for an enjoyable eveving and stay.
Review 115:Our only minor criticism was the bathroom shower which was difficult to set up.
Review 116:This is a lovely hotel and grounds and the beautiful bedroom had distant views of the countryside. The `cellar` restaurant was very atmospheric with good food at reasonable prices. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day break.
Review 117:Room at back was noisy when generator kicked in at 8am. Heard conversations of people in next room.
Review 118:Owners bringing to life to an old mansion. Very tasteful refurbishment keeping the character of the house. Lovely comfy bed, good sized room. Cleanliness. It hasn't been open long and staff are keen to ensure you have a good stay.
Review 119:Leaving.
Review 120:The staff were totally on the ball, excellent service with friendliness without being over familiar. The quality of the rooms and fittings throughout. The food and the cellar restaurant were first class, a truly great experience.
