Reviews for Common Farm Motel

Review 1:Good, basic accommodation, and the 'doggy bag' available from the breakfast buffet was very useful (as well as being included in the breakfast price!)

Review 2:I was walking so a little isolated, but ample places to eat if travelling by car. Takeaway is an option.

Review 3:excellent host, very nice lady, continental breakfast but loads of it and the offer to make up lunch packs included.

Review 4:Nothing.

Review 5:Everything. Room was fine, with additional requests honoured, plenty of parking, good breakfast too - all continental and no cooked, but a good choice of pastries, fresh fruits, cold meats, cereals, breads of all kinds. Great value for £4.00 Judy is a lovely hostess. Great for a budget rather than luxury experience and would definitely book again.

Review 6:There is no pub within walking distance for an evening meal and taxis are a little pricey.

Review 7:Cosy and friendly place to stay. Perfectly situated for walks. You are on a working farm and I have to say to wake up to a view of camels in the field was a unexpected treat.

Review 8:An absolute gem - not the most up to date of furnishings but has a real personal feel. The room I was in had a microwave in the room which was ideal as meant I didn't have to eat out if I didn't want to. A good continental breakfast available. The hosts and staff are delightful

Review 9:The wifi did not work late evening. Possibly switched off! The windows could not be locked open. This meant either an airless room or possibility of someone climbing through because rooms are all on ground floor. Not great for solo women.

Review 10:Basic but clean and with everything needed. The microwave, fridge etc were a bonus.

Review 11:Be aware that the location is not well sign posted and if I had my been given the instructions that it was opposite the speed camera by friends I would have missed the turning, needs a sign further back down the road.

Review 12:The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and tidy and was great value for money.

Review 13:Could do with a better locking system, it was quite difficult for me to lock the door to my room without the help of the staff.

Review 14:Very friendly, definitely would consider staying there again.

Review 15:cant really fault the place, a little bit of road noise from the occasional passing truck, i slept like a log so no biggy.

Review 16:friendly welcome, simple process, good parking, the room was simple yet clean. I slept very well in the single bed. nice hot clean shower and wash room. tv, kettle and microwave nice too.

Review 17:Little bit chilly but the weather was very unseasonal would have liked the option to turn on a little heating on arrival.

Review 18:Great location for Stafford Showground. Plentiful breakfast and the landlady offered me to take more for lunch which is s very kind gesture as I had s long journey home. Good for parking trailer

Review 19:Slightly tired in need of updating but in a sympathetic way to the barn conversion. The bed frame we had was in need of replacing but the mattress however was fine

Review 20:Extremely Friendly the welcome you receive and the offer of support during our stay was second to none

Review 21:Nothing at all

Review 22:Lovely location, excellent room complete with everything needed, fabulous breakfast and totally charming proprietors - who really do go out of their way to help and advise of locations and facilities. Totally perfect for my needs.

Review 23:This motel is located very central for Stafford and the surrounding attractions, (Stafford County show ground, Shugborough etc) and you can come & go as you please. From our room we could see Camels!

Review 24:very cramped room, just about get around bed. The bed was something out of ww2, very uncomfortable, squeeked at even small movements....no real rest. Booked room then had to pay extra, for my wife !!! not clearly displayed anywhere

Review 25:Breakfast was good, no hot food, except toast continental only. BUT WAS EXTRA on room rate!!.

Review 26:The electricity went off for a very short time, about 5 mins, in the evening. Just a power trip I assume.

Review 27:Quiet, lovely setting, clean room and bathroom.

Review 28:The access to the site is on a busy road which proves difficult to get out onto. The decor is a little dated but adequate Access to local facilities seems to require a car Heating on timer controlled externally which it was meant not on when we arrived so requested to be turned on and then went off at before midnight so place cooled down rapidly

Review 29:It was convenient for what we required which was a function at a local Hall It was quiet even though on a busy road The facilities are adequate including a powerful shower for a refreshing start to the day

Review 30:On our arrival the room was freezing we had to ask how to turn on the heating. We were advised that the hearing was on a timer & it came on at 4pm & went off at 10pm. It was a old day & it would have been more welcoming if the rooms had been warm for our arrival.

Review 31:The bedroom & bathroom were clean with a few extras in the bathroom - makeup remover pads & cotton buds

Review 32:Parenter had accendent by failing down or up the stairs ( cant remember which) and made a little hole in the stair case wall, early in the morning my parenter told the lady who was fine about it, and we stated that we would pay for the damage if we needed too. We were told it was ok accenidents happen. At 8-00am an older man came demanding payment for the damage. I informed the man that I would pay for the repair, however did not know how much it would be. The man repeatedely said just give us £50. I kept stating that I did not know how much it would be to repair. After 15 minutes the man said just give me £30, which i did and left the property at 8-40am instead of 9-30am.

Review 33:the flat was lovely, lady I dealt with is lovely.

Review 34:Poor heating which went off at 10pm despite been the winter session. Draughty window, cold air from outside coming into room. Room needed a good clean, dust on skirting boards and furniture, Bathroom dated.

Review 35:The heating went off at end of evening. Woke up to find room very cold. Extremely cold outside car windscreens all iced up. It was probably coldest night of year so far. Would recommend heating stays on at this time of year.

Review 36:Nice room with parking for car right at door. Room cosy when heating was on. Use of field to exercise dogs.

Review 37:Liked how it was a massive hotel with corridors of doors back to back, it was lonley and warm Nd not noise of others. It just felt homely and loved as soon as you pulled on. Plenty of car park spaces. I would go back any time.

Review 38:Absolutely nothing at all.

Review 39:The welcome we received from the owner, the location of the motel, the neighbouring farms with camels, both of the motel owners and their little dog (Rex), comfortable room, the continental breakfast prepared by a lovely lady who would not let us leave without taking a freshly baked fruit cake. Will definitely return. Thank you for a great stay.

Review 40:The entrance to the farm is on a very busy road was very difficult trying to get out of the entrance on peak times....the room was pretty cold. rooms were in seperate buildings from the farm house and could do with a bit modernisation everything was a bit worn and dated. breakfast was continental in a pretty horrible looking dining room.Wifi wasn't the best.

Review 41:The price...also had plates and microwave in room which is handy. plenty of parking.

Review 42:It is a mile or so from the nearest shops or pub, so if you are on foot and already tired you need to be aware of this and be prepared with food etc.

Review 43:I was welcomed in early to my accommodation on arrival. The owners were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Review 44:Only thing lacking I felt was that wifi was not available in our room, had to go outside by the car not ideal when it gets cold in the evening.

Review 45:Warm, clean, quite and comfortable.

Review 46:The map printed from Booking.com. Not sure where you got it from but not accurate at all!!!

Review 47:Very friendly, caring people would not hesitate to book again when in the area.

Review 48:the farm and the motel need some tlc / upgrading (front doors/ certain windows) of certain items and there are practically no farm animals, only cows. no soap dispenser in shower, there are sealed little bags with gel for which scissors are required to open. to walk next to the road (towards canal e.g.) is v dangerous bcs overhanging hedges along busy road (50/h). previous guests left some sliced ham behind in cupboard :(

Review 49:friendly hosts, very nice breakfast, parking in front (it is a motel), some rooms are small flats with kitchenette and sofa; shower with mix tap; good digital tv with sat channels; free wifi (by the window); accessible price for low budget travellers;

Review 50:A few cobwebs in both rooms, some with residents! Road noise reported by other reviewers but not bad enough to bother us. Carpet in twin room needed a good clean but I can understand that many feet walking over it means it will never be as clean as carpets at home.

Review 51:Clean bedding, room and bathrooms. Quiet site Helpful owners 35 mins drive from Alton Towers

Review 52:Can't complain of anything.

Review 53:Lovely staff, great sized room for 3 adults and a child. Didn't know what to expect as it wasn't expensive at all but overall we enjoyed our stay. Had everything we needed. Quiet area but only a short drive from the shops etc.

Review 54:Bedding was not changed in 5 days, there was dust in the draws. The shower could do with being updated/modernised. The walls were really thin and I could hear everything the next door residents were doing and saying.

Review 55:Location was great for where I needed to be on a daily basis, with beautiful surroundings. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 56:Rooms equipped with microwave and crockery and cutlery very handy when staying away from home on a budget. Extremely clean, very friendly lady owner, continental breakfast choice incredible, worth the extra £4.
