Reviews for Residence Le Mas des Oliviers - Uzès Appart Hotel

Review 1:Dirty smelly stained pillows and dirty stained and smelly blankets Attempted to wash blanket in bath but water was black and blanket still smelled !!!!! Looked clean but smelly couch Arrived on a Sunday so difficult to manage problems, nearly left due to bed linen issues. Manager gave us brand new pillows and 2 clean blankets. we never sat on the sofa without a blanket on it that we brought with us Cushions also dirty you have to clean your apartment on leaving otherwise you will be charged 45 euros for smallest apt and upwards for larger. You don't know who or if apt was cleaned before you arrive Beds were very old and we spent he whole week with back ache due to the springs in the mattress sticking through. This might be a great place if your young and on a budget, but they could improve their cleanliness and furniture so it could be more comfortable for an older crowd. We are both in healthcare and felt this was more like a hostel. The hostel in town looked more inviting than this appt. But it was a bargain and we did visit relatives in the town, and everybody was friendly and helpful.

Review 2:Location is excellent Free wifi if near reception Free parking

Review 3:Double bed not comfortable at all! Actually it's 2 single attached and they move. We needed a real big double bed. The couch wasn't clean and some stain on the bed sheets.

Review 4:Location.

Review 5:Not very clean. Kitchen not as well equipped as most apartment units that we have stayed in before. But, overall, not bad and we would stay there again.

Review 6:Very friendly staff. Terrific location in relation to the old town. Grocery store nearby. Pool. Free parking.

Review 7:Kitchen not really clean and worn, dirty washing cloth. As reception closed, Printed instructions in English need improvement. Phone call was very helpful.

Review 8:Location great.

Review 9:Very basic furnishings. Bad lighting in the bathrooms. Bathroom floor was not very clean. Couch cover not very clean.

Review 10:Great location with a garage to park the car, spacious apartment. Clean sheets and towels. Nice addition to have a pool, especially for the kids.

Review 11:We booked Le Mas des Oliviers as we wanted accommodation for 3 people, and the other options in Uzes in high summer were very limited. We also wanted somewhere close to the centre, so we could get to restaurants without needing to drive. The website also showed a pool and sun terrace, which should the icing on the cake. The location is good, as is the underground private car park. The walk to the central square is no more than 10 minutes. Our first impression wasn't too good as the reception was deserted. We were on the point of leaving and getting a room at the Best Western which we found had rooms, when the owner came in (it was 8pm by now, we having arrived at 6:45pm). The problem seemed to be communication in that a text message should have reached us, but didn't until some time later probably due to network delay. This would tell us the code to unlock a box outside the main entrance, and within this was an envelope with our key and access code. If you book the accommodation, I would suggest you call the owner before you arrive to sort this out, as when we arrived we called the 2 numbers on the wall around 20 times each without anyone picking up. One message we left was responded to, around 9pm the same night. The apartment was clean, but furnished with very tired and cheap fittings. Pretty dismal really. There were no light shades - just dim under-powered bare bulbs at ceiling level, the air con hardly worked, and the shower fitting was broken (shower so small that an average adult couldn't really fit - so we guessed how the fittings would have been broken. The beds were extremely basic, and the mattress and pillow linings terribly stained. The terrace /balcony is overlooked and very adjacent to others, so we were uncomfortable ever eating there - even breakfast. The pool is indoors, popular with young children, and the sun terrace was horrible.

Review 12:The positives were that it had a bath and there was lots of hot water (see below), and it was clean. There is also free wifi. There are also plenty of plates and glasses etc., although due to the lack of kitchen gear, we never ate there.

Review 13:It would be necessary some more maintenance of the apartments (lamps, doors, ecc)

Review 14:The position close to the city center The parking The structure and apartments are large and well done

Review 15:Bed and bedding not very comfortable

Review 16:Huge space, reasonable, terrace and close to town

Review 17:We had to wait too long to check in

Review 18:The location and size of the apartment

Review 19:tight for 6 people

Review 20:Great location

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:The fellow at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.Gave suggestions for restaurants etc Very spacious and clean.excellent location.

Review 23:The location was super....right in the heart of the town and close to all amenities. It was also great value for money.

Review 24:Convenient location and secure parking plus swimming pool

Review 25:The pool was small and indoors - but we did know this before we stayed there

Review 26:Apartment was very close to town centre

Review 27:Bedrooms and bathrooms were cramped for space.

Review 28:Superb location, a short walk into the centre of beautiful Uzes.

Review 29:Room was clean, but elevator dirty and dog poop on sidewalk near front door never was cleaned in 3 days. AC worked but not able to keep up with hottest days

Review 30:Location was great in Uzes. Short walk to town's main square and street. Uzes is a beautiful town.

Review 31:Even for a 3 day stay, there was no provision of any cleaning, dish washer or dish cleaning/drying equipment or supplies. China in short supply as only two cups but the apartment was advertised as catering for 4 people.

Review 32:Location in relation to town and driving into the country. Garage parking a real bonus. Swimming pool excellent. Nice balcony but unfortunately too windy to use it.Comfortable and also elevator from garage to apatment floor.

Review 33:Don't expect "Quaint French" accommodation. It's not a negative as it had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay here.

Review 34:This place was very clean, easy access to the old town of Uzes and the room was lovely with a balcony, swimming pool and kitchen facilities. There was a carpark provided which was a great help and a washing machine and dryer available for only 2eur in the basement.

Review 35:Ideally, it would have been great if the receptionist spoke moreEnglish, but I didn't really expect it, from a smallish place deepin France, and it didn't give me any problems.

Review 36:Good well priced accommodation, close to the centre of this beautifullittle town. Apartment was a good size, and well equipped, nice quietresidential area, literally two minutes from the old part of Uzes.

Review 37:Place was closed on the weekend, so no human contact. Toilet did not flush, but there was no-one to fix it. No emergency number. Wifi only worked downstairs in the 'lobby'. Corridors smelled.

Review 38:Keys were left for us and this was sensibly communicated by email. Not too far from old town.

Review 39:Numerous issues, including very poor supplies in kitchen (e.g no plug for sink, very limited cooking items etc); shower rose attached to bath rather than on the wall so you need to shower one handed; the apartment is very, very small; room rate doesn't include extras such as bizarrely bed sheets and bathroom towels, use of tv etc etc. would not recommend... Spend a bit more or stay a few days less and choose somewhere decent and much more comfortable in the lovely village of Uzes.

Review 40:Proximity to Uzes and relatively cheap

Review 41:It was a late booking... That morning, for a family of 6, we arrived after 8pm... The apartment was ideal, very comfortable, & well equipped to prepare a meal with ingredients from the supermarket around the corner for some very hungry tired travellers.

Review 42:Shame indoor swimming pool is closed in winter - a warm swim would have been lovely. Need to bring tea towel and detergent. Office opening times restricted.

Review 43:Location, few minutes walk to centre, and parking provided. Bed comfortable; apartment was well planned and functional. Quiet room and liked the peaceful view of trees. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 44:There really wasn't anyone one reception except for the occasional half an hour or so. Not a real problem unless something went wrong. WIFI only in the lobby was a little inconvenient.

Review 45:The apartment was spacious and well set out with all you needed for a few days of self catering. Underground parking was great, was about half a km out of the city centre which was also good, a bit quieter.

Review 46:Perfect!

Review 47:Excellent accom. safe and easy parking for hire car. Loved Uzes. It was one of the most relaxing places we visited, great food and the old city was amazing, lots of happy hours wandering the area. Great to have the convenience of washing machine and iron, as we had been using l/mats and going for the 'crushed look' for a couple of weeks.

Review 48:Reception hours were different from those given by Booking.com and therefore required various phonecalls when we got there, and assistance from other people, as reception bell did not work. Huge complex, took us a while on arrival to find reception. Wifi only in reception area, which was deserted at night and where, if you sat quietly using your computer, the lights would go out on you which was somewhat creepy to say the least. Complex somewhat barn like and basic inside the corridors, probably fairly empty because of the time of year.

Review 49:Great to have a properly equipped kitchenette, a good bathroom, a terrace, a lift. We did not try to use the swimming pool. This would have been a good apartment for a family, because it was so roomy and well-equipped.

Review 50:Staff unfriendly, well just not very welcoming. Arguments behind doors but everybody could hear.

Review 51:Close to town centre, perfect for good food in local restaurants and Saturday morning market. Pool good but sad : too much chlorine

Review 52:The staff/owners of this place are terrible. We arrived on a Saturday evening with no way of getting into the unit. Nobody was on-site (unfathomable for such a large building) and nobody answered at any of the listed numbers. We have 2 small children and, luckily, were able to crash with some friends who were staying nearby until we were able to access the unit the following day. If not for them, we would have had to sleep in our car. God knows what would happen if there were a real emergency there on the weekends since they don't have anybody on site or on call.

Review 53:The apartment itself was lovely and very quiet. The indoor parking was also a nice plus.

Review 54:The reception desk is completely closed two days a week. We arrived on one of those days. They made it easy by leaving a key in a lock box and to their credit someone always answered the phone. However our room was not cleaned when we arrived. Had to call the number and they took care of it within an hour or so, but that was irritating.

Review 55:The location is excellent - short walk to restaurants and shops in Uzes but quiet in the evenings. We loved the town of Uzes. Easy car access to Pont du Gard and other points of interest. Also very nice having some extra space for our family of four.

Review 56:The room is fairly equiped but the bed was not good.

Review 57:The environment (town of Uzes) is beautiful. The residence is really close by and extremely suitable for visiting the town.

Review 58:We are happy we only stayed there one night because - I had no hot water in room since 11pm ( broken). - Reception is careless. -The reception open only at 10:30am so you have to be patient enough if there is any problem

Review 59:No reception whatsoever when we arrived. Wireless didn't work and after calling it seemed they didn't care. It all feels as if you are visiting a big factory

Review 60:Works for an overnight stay and Uzes itself is pretty pittoresque

Review 61:No toilet rolls on arrival No service elements like tea coffee milk sugar etc No reception fully manned Heated swimming pool is older than a river No cleaning aids I.e washing up liquid or tablets for dishwasher and no tea towels Room not serviced once in 5 days Would not stay or recommend it again

Review 62:Location was excellent Comfort in room was good

Review 63:A lot of the crockery was not clean, obviously not checked by cleanersas it was put away. The sink plug was broken and we washed up in a largepot as not worth it to buy detergent for the dishwasher(probablyexplains the dirty dishes). The bathroom was set up for a disabledperson, not a problem, but shower made floor and toilet wet for most ofthe day. Needed a curtain. Unfortunately, not one English televisionchannel, which would have been appreciated by all English speakingguests. Next to no English spoken at front desk, also.

Review 64:A well located, good size apartment that provided most things that youwould need on your holiday. If you had been there previously, you wouldknow what extras you needed to provide. Had undercover parking, whichhad to be reserved ,but not a problem as place not full. Despite someshortcomings we enjoyed our stay in Uzes.

Review 65:nothing to dislike about this one.

Review 66:Very nicely set up and presented apartment at a very treasonable price. Having secure undercover car parking was great as we had a hire car. The location is just a short walk away from the a amazing old part of Uzes.

Review 67:No downsides as far as I am concerned.

Review 68:Easy to find, very helpful staff and comfortable accommodation only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Uzes. This is the second time I have stayed here and would definitely return.

Review 69:the neighborhood highly urbanized

Review 70:just a few steps away from the charming city center

Review 71:nothing

Review 72:Free parking, location and room size is great.

Review 73:No staff available - key left in mail box. No information in room.

Review 76:Good size, close to town, good parking.
