Reviews for Station House
Review 1:Greeted with a very friendly welcome and shown to the room which was very comfortable and clean, overall a great place to stay and if I return to Aberfeldy the Station House will be my first choice!
Review 2:Friendly and welcoming staff. Good location and comfortably furnished rooms. Traffic noise late and early on street-side rooms may be an issue for light sleepers. Spotlessly clean. Attended help-yourself continental breakfast.
Review 3:Mattress too soft for me, but would not put me off booking again.
Review 4:Th hotel was lovely, right in the middle of Aberfeldy, parking was no problem. The room was spacious and clean. it was a great idea that you could use the kitchen when needed. The coffee-machine was fantastic. Continental breakfast had a great choice of cereals, cold meats, fruit salat, yoghurts, etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 5:When we visited the Station House in Aberfeldy on a walking holiday recently, we were given a most friendly and helpful welcome to this trendy hotel. The room was modern and meticulously clean, with a huge, very comfortable bed. The en suite was luxurious with the best shower I have ever had. I didn’t want to get out. The breakfast was continental and during our stay, we were able to help ourselves to the quality coffee or tea as required. If we return to Aberfeldy we will definitely return to this hotel.
Review 6:Our room was cornering the street, which becomes noisy in the morning but not too much...
Review 7:Very, very welcoming and friendly hosts. Nice and clean rooms. Great breakfast.
Review 8:there is nothing we didn't like about the hotel
Review 9:everything about our stay was fabulous including the staff. they were so helpful and really made our stay there great
Review 10:Nothing
Review 11:Great staff, impeccably clean, and large comfortable beds great modern bathrooms! We particular like the continental type breakfast for which there is a large variety.....Sara has got it right! also coffee in the all singing and dancing coffee machine in the kitchen to which you can help yourselves! Ideal situation for walks and exploring the local village etc. This was our 3rd visit on Route to the Highlands and certainly won't be the last!
Review 12:- everything was excellent and nice, the only "negative" point could be that we didn't have scottish breakfast ;-)
Review 13:A really nice and comfortable B+B
Review 14:The Station House was in the middle of town and easy walking distance of things I wanted to see. The staff was very friendly and always had a good word.
Review 15:We were met by a friendly young lady, Hannah. She helped us with every need. Our room was new and spotlessly clean. Aberfeldy is a quaint place to stay.
Review 16:Key entry worked perfect on main door but a wee but fiddly to get working for room door but did work :) but not a major hassle.
Review 17:Very fresh throughout, helpful owner who bent rules of breakfast time to accommodate me eating earlier. Comfortable room with kitchen facilities at hand for refreshments. Perfect base for an active weekend
Review 18:Sarah was most helpful and welcoming. Rooms comfortable and nicely decorated. Appreciated availability of breakfast room at all times. Great coffee machine!
Review 19:Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in room, particularly for first thing in the morning. We were aware that the breakfast would be continental when we booked and there was a good choice of cereals, etc but as there appears to be a very good local bakers it was a shame the bread came from the local supermarket.
Review 20:Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Encouraged to help ourselves to tea and coffee as we wished from the kitchen.
Review 21:Really struggling to find any fault....couldnt get the wifi in my room but I could downstairs..so not an issue.
Review 22:Absolutely excellent.....really pleasant host....quality rooms with quality finishings and whilst breakfast was self service (ideal at 5am) the array of items left was excellent. Very good coffee machine too.
Review 23:Fantastic staff, couldn't have been made to feel more welcome! So helpful in letting us check in early so we could get ready for a wedding. Comfortable bed and great shower.
Review 24:Great location and very friendly accommodating staff. Lovely breakfast (most of which is available any time of day so you can get a snack or some toast if you need) Room was good, with large shower. Overall a great place to stay.
Review 25:The bed was a bit small - especially because it was also underneath a very low skewed roof.
Review 26:Very nice hostess, warm welcome, well cared for room - and the restaurant of the sister hotel across the street we can highly recommend! The breakfast was extensive, consisting of a wide range of basic ingredients.
Review 27:The continental breakfast was good enough, but I personally would have preferred a cooked breakfast before I went to the golf.
Review 28:Staff was really helpful and friendly. Room nice and clean. Shower was very good, plenty hot water and quite powerful. WiFi worked perfectly. No complaints.
Review 29:Friendly, happy welcome to the hotel, immediately felt at ease. Room and communal areas of the hotel were very clean, neat, quiet and practical. We parked for free right outside and had several pubs, hotels, shops, country walks all on the doorstep.
Review 30:The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating to our late arrival. The breakfast layout was excellent.
Review 31:The only draw back is all the rooms are upstairs, but the girls were very willing and took our cases up & down.
Review 32:Very convenient, with local restaurants etc. Staff very lovely and helpful, and tea or coffee always available free.
Review 33:The lay out of the en suite was very awkward with the sink extending over the toilet space and the excellent power shower was not particularly suitable for ladies. :(
Review 34:Lovely clean welcoming hotel with fresh décor. Staff very helpful and decaff coffee we had requested was in place + a choice of teas. Really close to the centre and good food places. Parking spaces in front of hotel.
Review 35:On corner of Main Street. Quite noisy. Sound proofing not great which is a shame. We're kept awake by noisy guests who returned late and made noise well into the night.
Review 36:Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable and very clean.
Review 37:Wi-fi appeared not to connect to the internet correctly, so had to pop to a local pub.
Review 38:Very helpful staff. Very good continental breakfast. Very clean and modern rooms decorated to a very high standard.
Review 39:Lovely room very clean, great shower, staff friendly and helpful . . Great coffee, tea machine that you could help yourself to anytime of day or night. Would recommend if your staying in " Lovely Aberfeldy".
Review 40:The hotel was great - clean and well appointed. Breakfast was a cold buffet style which was a nice break from all the Scottish breakfasts we had had. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. We were so glad to have stayed in the quainter and quieter Aberfeldy away from the bustle of Pitlochery. The owner's new hotel across the street (opening in June) is stunning and a real bargain - will stay there next time if there is any rooms left.
Review 41:Warm welcome on arrival. Everything explained to us. This was a good base to explore Aberfeldy and the surrounding areas. Enjoyed the walk to Grandtully.
Review 42:I have nothing to say on a negative point. The place was charming and I would go back.
Review 43:Rooms were a good size and very well appointed. Bathrooms were newly renovated and large compared to most other b&bs. Staff and the owner were excellent and very friendly.
Review 44:My mobile got the wifi simple, strong, and easy, but my laptop said the modem could not provide an IP address (tried lots of fixes to no avail; not a problem anywhere else ever).
Review 45:Absolutely 1st-rate across the board; really kind, thoughtful staff; super fresh, modern room with powerful shower; strong wifi signal to the mobile phone; excellent stay.
Review 46:There was no coffee, tee facilities in your room, however the hoist made it clear anyone could use the kitchen to make tea ,coffee, even a slice of toast. But it was awkward in the morning as the kitchen was open to other guests. You would have to get dressed.
Review 47:Very clean, comfortable room, breakfast adequate.
Review 48:With price paid would have preferred a greater choice with regards to breakfast pref something cooked
Review 49:Cleanliness of room, standard of accommodation, size of room ,especially huge bed friendly staff
Review 50:Double glazing very poor quality , house party a few doors down, very little sleep due to street noise right up until 6 am in the morning
Review 51:Friendly service
Review 52:There was nothing we did not like about this hotel superb.
Review 53:Everything. The staff were first class. The hotel was excellent.the location was exellent. Would recommend this hotel we will be going back again.
Review 54:Friendly and hospitable staff (Monty') from the first minute, couldn't be more helpful. This was a last minute booking with minimal checks and reviews but we were glad we chose it. The 24hr coffee /tea/ snacks availability was excellent. We were told the hotel had been open for to two years but the spotless condition throughout made it feel more the two weeks! Thanks, Monty
Review 55:Nothing!
Review 56:What a fabulous place! From the moment we arrived we knew the reviews we'd read were spot on. The guest house was lovely and clean and the welcome we received was great. We were shown to our room which was lovely and bright and told everything about the guest house including breakfast arrangements and pointed in the direction of the never ending coffee / snacks supply. Would recommend the Station House to anyone. We will be back!
Review 57:The only thing I can fault is that we were not fans of the continental breakfast, we're more fry up people, however our stay was fantastic.
Review 58:Staff and rooms were excellent. The hotel was very modern and clean in a great location. Staff could not have been friendlier and made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable.
Review 59:Quite a small property but very homey and modern! Make yourself right at home, grab anything that you need from the dining area 24/7! Me and my boyfriend were down making cups of tea at half 11 at night
Review 60:Warm welcome from Monty who gave us a short tour of all the facilities. The well-appointed and room with its up to date decor and ensuite facilities. The freedom to help oneself to coffee and tea as well as the first class continental breakfast.
Review 61:The hotel is in a quiet area yet it couldn’t be more central. The building was recently been recently refurbished to a very high standard and the rooms are comfortable and well furnished. There is parking for two or three vehicles at the hotel but ample street parking is available just a few metres from the front door. The continental breakfast was very good with cereals, toast, cold meat, pancakes and croissants available. The building does not have a traditional reception desk, access is arranged by phone. Once we were let in and shown to our room the lack of a reception desk was not something we missed. The dining hall was manned at breakfast time. I’d recommend the place, it’s clean, cozy and comfortable and the staff are really friendly and helpful when they’re in attendance.
Review 62:NOTHING
Review 63:Station House is a top class B&B - there is nothing bad to say about it. The owner Sarah could not do enough and was an excellent host. I would highly recommend staying !!!
Review 64:Can't think of anything - even the weather was on our side, managed two rounds of golf in shirt sleeves in October!
Review 65:Accommodation was excellent - first class - lovely and clean. Personnel very friendly and helpful - always had time for a chat. Location very good, close to all restaurants, cafes and bars. And good choice of Golf Courses in the area
Review 66:Nothing.
Review 67:Stayed for two nights, great location. Staff couldn't be nicer, nothing to much bother. Good continental breakfast. Room very clean and comfortable. If you stay you have to remember it's not a hotel, more of a home from home
Review 68:Since the property is off the Main Street we had to stop and ask for directions only to learn it is on the street behind the gas station. Room #1 is above the kitchen if an Indian restaurant, which makes it quite impossible to open a window during business hours.
Review 69:Spotless clean and refurbished room with king size double bed, tv and amenities by the Body Shop. Nice breakfast with cheese, meat, fresh fruit and cappuccino. Property manager communicated with us through texts and was waiting even though we arrived after official check in time.
Review 70:Be careful going on a Saturday esp if at front of hotel, the bar opposite at closing time was very loud and singing in the street for about an hour kept me awake. Not Guest House's fault but be mindful if you want peace and quiet you may struggle at pub closing times.
Review 71:Greeted at the door by Monty one of the managers, who was beyond friendly and hospitable. The room was spacious and immaculate. The continental breakfast seemed to be non ending and Monty acted like nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend.
Review 72:Pity our stay was so short, will need a longer visit next time.
Review 73:Stylish and comfortable, great location in town. Lots of choice for continental breakfasts.
Review 74:It wasn't well lit up at night therefore couldn't find it easily, it needs more exterior lighting.
Review 75:big comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. High quality décor and furnishings. Friendly staff.
Review 76:The welcome I received was great and that level of friendliness and helpfulness from the owners and staff continued throughout my weeks stay with them. My room was modern, clean and comfortable. The always available coffee machine was immense and the set up of the breakfast room fabulous. A great place to stay if you are in Perthshire.
Review 77:Unfortunately building works on an adjacent property (apparently going on for the last nine months) proved to be noisy and disturbing.
Review 78:Overall an excellent place to stay.
Review 79:Beds were soft as soft comes, wifi didn't work in room very well, shower was tiny & not great, you had to go to kitchen to make tea or coffee as there was no tray in room, no double glazing on windows so you could hear everything out side.
Review 80:Location was great
Review 81:maybe the placing of a double bed under a sloping roof is something they might think about. hard to get in with 2 ppl! but thats a small moan *s*
Review 82:We first had a smaller room where the double bed wasnt very accesable under the sloping roof and the room was very very hot, we got an upgrade to a much larger cooler room the second day, The free use of the coffe/tea facilities in the kitchen are a great +. Breakfast was a great continental.
Review 83:No complaints.
Review 84:Everything was new, clean, and comfortable. Hosts were friendlyand informative - what more does a traveller need? We would staythere again.
Review 85:Could do with a sign on main road as we passed it twice trying to find it.
Review 86:24/7 access to coffee machine Modern rooms and decor Friendly staff Wi-Fi Good Location
Review 87:The room was beautiful; very we'll laud out, gorgeous bathroom, great shower. Coffee available whenever required was a great bonus. Breakfast was lovely and the lady in charge was very helpful, supplying an iron and board for my friend, and letting us back into the room when I stupidly left the key inside. There is nothing I didn't like about this hotel
Review 88:There was nothing we didnt like
Review 89:The location for our plans was fantastic. Lovely clean modern hotel, good breakfast and rooms really modern. Staff very knowledgable& Sarah was so nice & friendly. Would recommend to all without hesertation
Review 90:Location, comfort value for money. Lovely building. Relaxing and such trust the owners had for travelling folk. Work still ongoing, however, even the workman we met at the front door was welcoming and very helpful.
Review 91:I loved this hotel, we had been touring Scotland and each hotel got better as we moved along, this was the last one on our travels and did not disappoint. Very modern, clean and Sarah & Blair could not be more welcoming.
Review 92:Bed to soft but that is a personal preference and you will never suit everybody. Wifi a bit hit and miss in our room at the top of the building. Very minor details to what was a fantastic stay
Review 93:The place was spotlessly clean the bathroom and shower were excellent. The owner was very friendly and made you feel relaxed from the minute we got there. The dining room and kitchen was always open and could be used as a lounge at anytime with tea/coffee facilities great if your company had more than one room this allowed you to socialize together without being cramped into one bedroom.
Review 94:It was clean, the staff were friendly, the bed was very comfortable, they do not do a cooked breakfast but there was plenty of choice of fresh food, which suited me very much! The location was perfect as we were heading for the Highlands from Yorkshire. This was our second visit this year and plan to return again next year!
Review 95:The wifi didn't reach all the way to our room.
Review 96:Really good service, nice people. Nice continental breakfast and after a long walk the shower was heavenly. The cosy room had a very good price/quality ratio.
Review 97:nothing.I cant think of anything sorry.
Review 98:It is clean, easy, close to the centre, the people who run it are really friendly and helpful. It is a recommendable economic stay.
Review 99:The room and dining-room were as good as any I've stayed in. The owners/staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful, which made for a lovely relaxed stay.I'll stay longer next time hopefully.
Review 100:Room 6 was very small although, in fairness, this was flagged up in advance. Sloping roof above the bed meant it was a challenge to avoid banging your head - which we did a few times!
Review 101:Sarah was an exceptionally friendly host and greeted us with a warm welcome. Coffee machine was five star as were the heated croissants.
Review 102:Nothing to dislike
Review 103:We were given a warm welcome to a spotlessly clean establishment which is located in the centre of Aberfeldy. The room was comfortable and the continental breakfast was excellent.
Review 104:There was nothing what so ever I didn't like about our stay at The Station House ,
Review 105:Sarah was the perfect hostess, a lovely lady to meet you & see to all your needs, help if you require it, room was very clean , bed comfortable , we were a party of 4 & had a very pleasant stay , would definitely recommend The Station House .
Review 106:Everything was perfect, room was clean and comfortable can't fault anything. The owners were lovely too. Will definitely return to station house when we come back to Aberfeldy.
Review 107:Windows did not keep out the noise of the traffic or the work being carried out next door. Although they were double glazed the did not fit properly. Light sleepers beware. The shower could do with something in it to hold the soap or toiletries.
Review 108:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was excellent and clean. Bed was comfy and large.
Review 109:It's a minor point, but it was hard to darken my single bedroom at the top of the house. The sun woke me up very early. Curtains might be more effective than the roll-up blinds in this room.
Review 110:Everyone I spoke to at the Station House was extremely friendly and helpful. I was grateful that they let me into the house outside normal check-in hours. The whole guesthouse seems brand new. Excellent large bathroom with a luxury shower. Very comfortable bed.
Review 111:The breakfast was ok, museli, cereals, toast, cold meets etc. all fine but after a heavy night I was really wanting (hoping) for a traditional cooked breakfast which wasn't an option. Only negative but to be fair this was in the description when I booked but I hadn't read it properly. Also, if you are looking for a traditional Scottish hotel with stag heads on the wall this is not for you. I find such places typically tired and over priced but each to their own.
Review 112:The young girl working on the day was very pleasant and bubbly, great first impression! Let us check in early to get ready for a wedding with no issues or hassle. The place is freshly painted, very clean and bright. The rooms are basic but again clean and modern, wifi and tv. The bathroom very nice and modern too (often a let down in places). Overall, great value for money and everything you need. Not a typical tired and dated country hotel. Would recommend it to anyone that wants to stay in a clean hotel/B&B.
Review 113:work being carried out close by no fault of the b an b. Didnt realise it was a continental breakfeast till booked in.
Review 114:Clean, modern, friendly helpful staff.
Review 115:No view.building going on outside our window.workmen there early banging around and were there all weekend
Review 116:Room wasnt huge but bed was massive.shower was brilliant.breakfast room was great.coffee machine to use freely.plenty choice at breakfast.
Review 117:Nothing to dislike.
Review 118:Megan, an excellent ambassador for the hotel, Abernethy and Scotland. Rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb.
Review 119:Unfortunately the location does meant that you do get a fair amount if street noise. If you are light sleeper this would be a problem.
Review 120:Lovely decor. Fantastic to have such a spacious comfortable room. Facilities were good and staff were very helpful and friends.
Review 121:Nothing to complain.
Review 122:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Rooms comfortable and clean. Perfect stopover for "Rob Roy"-backpackers, since it's right on the way.
Review 123:nothing
Review 124:Staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room and facilities were very new, modern and sparkling clean. Super comfy bed, great breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, and great value for money
Review 125:The room was fresh, modern and very comfortable, loved the 24hr access to the amazing coffee machine. Made to feel most welcome in a very relaxed atmosphere.
