Reviews for The Stables- Deer Park Farm

Review 1:Little fences or shrubs to separate the chalets would be a nice touch to make sitting outside more private especially when the weather is nice

Review 2:dont have to check in as you receive you gate and chalet codes through text message gave us a nice feeling of privacy.

Review 3:There is absolutely no sound proofing. When the couple in the room next to us returned later in the evening we were made to feel an intimate part of their proceedings! Being a snorer I am acutely aware when in hotels, rooms etc. So I then had a very poor nights sleep, afraid of keeping the whole block awake. In the morning we were entertained by the neighbours once again. I must say they seemed to enjoy their stay more than we did. Facilities were poor considering the age of the property, tile on bathroom floor was smashed with two holes and the pieces stuck back together. Show rheas was broken so could only get a dribble of water. Temperature handle on shower broken too. Ended up being very disappointed, this may have been five star to start with when the assessor stayed in the room at the end with no neighbours, but falls a long way short now.

Review 4:First impressions were excellent, nice large room, adequate sized en-suite and a lovely kitchenette to the rear. Lived the self catering B&B suits us down to the ground. Good location for Birmingham and Stratford. Text contact from owners excellent and room was clean and furnished with quality pieces.

Review 5:Well converted stables which were very warm, in a lovely setting and with a very comfy bed. A breakfast basket and fridge in our kitchenette was well stocked and we even made good microwaved scrambled eggs on toast. Only petty objection was having to leave 50p for a small bottle of water when everything else including milk and orange juice was included. We didn't see anyone during our stay so can't comment on staff but arrival instructions were timely and efficient. Lovely place, would be happy to stay again and recommend to others.

Review 6:Nothing , it was a treat to stay here .

Review 7:It's the second time we have stayed here in the last fortnight . Beautifully converted stables into wonderful accommodation , fantastic room and friendly owner who was extremely helpful when asked but also respected our privacy . Top notch !

Review 8:I can't really say there was anything we didn't like. Although word of advice if any couples or family are travelling into Solihull for a night out or food and don't drive don't use the recommended taxi company diamond cars they rip you off and are so expensive use crown cars so friendly and the taxi fares are reasonable:)

Review 9:Mine and my finace stay was beautiful it was relaxing and quiet exactly what we wanted. Well worth the money and we will be visiting again. The chalets were so clean warm and tidy they had every thing we needed :)

Review 10:No internet..we followed the instructions in their guide but couldn't find any signal or wi-fi. Could not use the bathroom mirror/cabinet because it was far to high up the wall...I am 5'5" so not particularly short..also a full length mirror would be useful. Very little in the way of communication with staff/owners.

Review 11:Our chalet was very clean and nicely furnished although a little cramped.

Review 12:I loved this place. It's a little off the beaten track, but easy to find and convenient to the main road network. It's thoughtfully and tastefully furnished and decorated. Perfect if you want a quiet, cosy and warm haven.

Review 13:Being disturbed by the cleaning staff coming into our room before 9am when we were still in bed!

Review 14:Well designed and equipped room, facilities for coffee, tea and breakfast provided on arrival. We liked the independence of not having to present for breakfast but to eat what we wanted in our own room by the breakfast bar.

Review 15:Unfortunate to say when reading the welcome pack a charge for earplugs? This soon became apparent as we could hear everything and I mean everything the guests in the next room were doing. investment in soundproofing would make this location perfect.

Review 16:Location and facilities fantastic , the room was lovely , clean warm and welcoming a real treat.

Review 17:The drive from the gate could be a little more even. The sound from railway line seems to travel across the fields a lot.

Review 18:The self catering facilities were a bonus, as I don't want to eat out all of the time. The chalets are comfortable and we'll furnished.

Review 19:Beautiful chalet with impeccable attention to detail. The room and breakfast were of excellent quality and the proprietor is extremely helpful and friendly. Superb value for money - I couldn't recommend The Stables enough.

Review 20:I loved it all.

Review 21:Everything. The rooms were beautiful, as well as the surrounding areas. The breakfast supplied was lovely and I would live there if I could.

Review 22:Amazing chalet lodge retreat in the beautiful countryside. Only wish I could have stayed longer. Pre-check information was clear and I received a text on the morning of my stay reconfirming the location postcode and check-in instructions. For me, the self-check in was fabulous, allowing me to arrive when I liked. The chalet lodge I stayed in (number 10) was amazing. A wonderfully equipped one bedroom apartment. You open the stable door into the living room/kitchen with a comfy sofa, TV, table and chairs and kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster and two ring hob). What a lovely surprise to see that an extremely generous breakfast hamper was included - bread, multiple cereals and the fridge stocked with water, juice, eggs, milk, butter, jam. The place is decorated to a high standard. The bedroom contains a wardrobe, TV, large bed and dressing table. The ensuite bathroom has a power shower and was clean and inviting. The biggest plus was the location. I opened the stable door in the morning to view the horses grazing in the field outside. In the summer you could take advantage of the table and chairs on the patio. Simply stunning. I loved my stay.

Review 23:The staff were welcoming and accommodating. Warm and cosy. Very understanding when I got hair dye on their beautiful cream sofa. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

Review 24:There wasn't anything we disliked!!

Review 25:I took my partner here for a couple of nights away to celebrate his birthday! We both thought it was fantastic an the chalet itself was lovely an the little touches We're appreciated very much! The views were stunning an as it's only a little drive for us to get there we will be returning very soon! Definitely worth the money :)

Review 26:WiFi is not brilliant, Croissants are dreadful. Needs more rooms as it is always fully booked during the week.

Review 27:Location is great, check in is a dream and the room facilities were excellent. Is very quiet and ideal for sitting out on warm nights.

Review 28:Absolutely fantastic. Great location and beautifully appointed. The most hospitable and accommodating staff I have met. Stayed twice with our young family in diffferent accommodation types and was very comfortable.

Review 29:The room was really small and compact, difficult to feel really comfortable, door opened straight out to the elements which made things difficult. The rooms should have been made slightly larger. We felt we had more usable space in our caravan Road was very bumpy to the rooms

Review 30:Lovely area and surroundings

Review 31:nothing !!

Review 32:The chalet was spotlessly clean, and the heating had been put on so was lovely and warm on arrival . I stayed in the single chalet and whilst small, was perfect for one. The breakfast hamper was great plus the other little touches; ear plugs, water etc were thoughtful .

Review 33:Arrival was complicated through not receiving the notifications for access. The interim booking company did not pass on the relevant information and the reminder text was only sent after the customers had already set out on the journey. No seat(s) available within the room, only opportunity was to sit on the bed which appeared to the customers to be broken.

Review 34:The whole concept is different and good if implemented in a seamless manner

Review 35:Only one minor set back the site is not very well sign posted and you almost go past it on a very dark lane.

Review 36:Very comfortable bed. Good selection of breakfast cereal ample supply of coffee. Plenty of hot water and good pressure in shower.

Review 37:Great location and property for my horse loving daughter. Chalet was great, a little on the small side however for what we needed it was perfect. Clean, modern and tidy!

Review 38:Breakfast 'hamper' in the room and tea and coffee facilities, fridge etc. The rooms was clean and fresh. We asked to arrive early and staff very helpful.

Review 39:We didnt have a bad experience but we noticed a couple of things weren't as they were last time we stayed-no grill for basic cooking and no snack bar available either. We also had a stained towel and my parents did too who where staying in chalet no 6.

Review 40:The situation is lovely -so quiet. Lovely to have animals around and be out in the country. Chalets very warm and comfortable, owners very nice.

Review 41:Quiet location, very pleasant environment. Very comfortable chalet, very comfy bed, excellent facilities. Very clean indeed. Helpful and friendly staff.

Review 42:Stayed this time in the larger room. Made a difference. Great alternative to staying in a hotel. Good location. Able to go out for a run along safe country lanes.

Review 43:One room would be particularly better for short duration travelers as opposed to long haul flights who tend to have more luggage. Our first room was fairly small but extremely well equipped and beautiful.

Review 44:The owners were fabulous and resourceful. Helped you out with any and all questions.

Review 45:if not got a sat nav can be hard to find due to two turns to the right on a bend so would recommand a sign to show you which turn.

Review 46:the staff more then helpfull. the place. easy to get about to places like local citys.

Review 47:Secure private very clean. Good size accommodation quiet location good access to roads Well stocked Fridge. excellent information on local shops pubs reastuarants etc. friendly owner. Would recommend

Review 48:Such a delightful place, and my every need catered for. I was particularly thrilled to find a cafetiere with ground coffee and fresh milk in a small fridge. The breakfast hamper is perfect for me, because I have to leave before most B&Bs serve breakfast. I even had a toaster and slices of bread.

Review 49:best place I ever been to somewhere I can feel relaxed. its very clean, in a peaceful location, nice mixture in the breakfast hamper and plenty of items to cook with and even a fridge, lovely to sit outside the room with a drink in the fresh air with all the animals, different from staying in a hotel and nice that got a door code so don't have to carry a key around. we have stayed in a few different chalets and all been wonderful would recommend to anyone I already booked my next visit

Review 50:The standard rooms are indeed on the compact side for two adults with luggage moving around. Ok for a couple of nights, but not for a longer stay. It is nice to be able to use the space outside the room to have breakfast, if the weather is nice.

Review 51:Quiet and private, beautiful countryside, the smell of the horses.

Review 52:Not enough wardrobe space for 2 people for 2 nights, could have done with a bigger wardrobe or an additional chest of drawers as we had to hang our clothes over the chair. Full length mirror was horizontal across as the wall, really could have done with being vertical so you can see yourself full length just so you know what you look like properly before you leave the chalet for the day!

Review 53:Lovely chalet in a beautiful, quiet setting! Self check in/out!

Review 54:The rooms were small but very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was lovely all very fresh and being able to sit just outside in the sunshine with a fantastic outlook made it even more enjoyable.

Review 55:Despite being described as having a kitchenette, there was no stovetop or hotplate, just a microwave and a strange egg boiler (that was missing the measuring cup so difficult to use properly).

Review 56:What a lovely place to stay. The breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice of delicious food. The bed was very comfortable and we got a great night's sleep. Everything was very clean. The location is charming. We would definitely stay here again.

Review 57:Paid for upgrade. Did not get. Kitchenette far too cramped. Advertised as Deer Farm with photos of herd. Not a sight of a deer to be seen. Very poor signposting

Review 58:Check in easy

Review 59:Not all rooms have a proper kitchenette, which is what I was expecting. Had to readjust my expectations when i arrived.

Review 60:Great location, very relaxing environment. Great concept.

Review 61:Double chalet too small for two people chaotic when trying to have breakfast and get dressed no seating area.

Review 62:Location excellent as close to our daughters home

Review 63:There were 4 of us in total and we would have needed more cutlery- only a minor issue and we would definitely stay here again

Review 64:The chalet was clean, spotless and very inviting. Great location and children loved seeing the red deer. Breakfast hamper was excellent.

Review 65:Our luxury chalet was clean, stylish, comfortable, fully equipped and set in peaceful surroundings. We received a warm welcome upon arrival and were asked if everything was to our liking once we had settled in. It was great to have our own little terrace with table and chairs to enjoy the view and soak up some sun.We were looking for comfort and peace and quiet and certainly got it!

Review 66:Room wasn't finished bare floors light not working in showed took long time to get TV to work but that could have been must me!!!!

Review 67:Location nice and peaceful friendly he

Review 68:After asking a few times for the wifi to be reset, as the code didn't work, I gave up which hampered my trip slightly.

Review 69:Exactly the freedom the kids needed

Review 70:The security on the back doors was poor, so didn't feel we could leave any valuables in the room. The doors could be pulled open and unlock in 2 seconds if someone wanted to break in. Also to be charged for wearing 2nd hand stained washed slippers, water , earplugs etc regardless of the fact they say it's for charity. The quality of the items we're not good either. The breakfast items apart from the cereal were all the basic cheap range, by providing a better quality of product would be so much nicer by sourcing local produce like free range eggs, fresh baked bread, jams etc

Review 71:The concept of converted stables.

Review 72:The location was down quite along lane.

Review 73:Nicely finished room, breakfast facilities were thoughtful and good. Communications with the owner re access were detailed and pleasant. The setting in the stable yard in the fields was quite nice.

Review 74:Lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean with nice homely touches. Nice and peaceful. Sofa bed in lounge was ok for young children but wouldn't be suitable for adults. Could have done with a table inside as I did cook whilst there and only had a breakfast bar with 2 stools but I'm guessing not many people stay with children.

Review 75:We stayed here while exhibiting at a local show, the accommodation and surroundings were so beautiful we wished we could have spent much more time there! Will definitely return

Review 76:The only thing I can fault will be hearing the water boiler / system go when people use the shower. I didn't want to shower at night incase I disturb anyone.

Review 77:Everything was very cute, the bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, like a 5* hotel. There was a huge selection in the breakfast hampering really can't complain. I was impressed by the booklet of restaurant suggestions and menus. Would definitely want to stay there again.

Review 78:Although the bed was comfortable it was very squeaky. We could hear almost every noise from the adjoining chalets i.e coughing, talking and snoring!

Review 79:Convenience

Review 80:As we are both tall we found the bed a bit too short. A divan style would have been less restrictive.... nothing to hit toes on!

Review 81:The lovely setting and so peaceful and quiet but very convenient distance from motorway and NEC. Very well equipped apartment and great breakfast choices.

Review 82:Only down side is they didn't have a selection of teas for breakfast!

Review 83:Great location, nice rooms which were well equipped with all the essential items. Sat outside on our terrace which was lovely and so quiet. Great to get away from everything and so relaxing.

Review 84:Comfy, clean room and great facilities, rooms finished to a very high standard. A file with local takeaways, pubs and things to do was tremendously helpful. Quiet location that's only a 5 minute drive from lovely pubs and a 10 minute drive from Knowle. We'd happily stay again!

Review 85:We liked the fact that the rooms were in a chalet style with some outdoor space. our room had a kitchen and lounge area as well as a bedroom. The kitchen area is a great idea and the choices for breakfast provided in the room was really good.

Review 86:As a single chalet it was small but attractively presented. A useful location when visiting the NEC as I was. Some very good, attractive pubs in the area eg. The Boot Inn for eating, that I already knew. Set within an attractive area..

Review 87:If I had to be very critical then the road was quite bumpy down to the chalets.

Review 88:Lovely room and facilities. Enjoyed a walk around the stables and the deer. Owners bent over backwards to please.

Review 89:There is nothing to dislike about the place!

Review 90:Friendly owners, showed us around their latest additions to the site. Everything is so clean and tidy - highly recommended.

Review 91:We would have liked to know the Wi-Fi connection up front with the details of the booking.

Review 92:The lodge was refreshingly clean, bed comfortable and choice of own prepared breakfast good.

Review 93:The location is in a country setting but still near enough to the town to venture out for supplies without any real inconvenience. Friendly staff who are always happy to help if needed. Peaceful setting and great value for money. If I had an extra arm, I'd give it 3 thumbs up. Just watch out for rabbits on the long driveway. There were a few who would have met their demise if I wasn't such an awesome driver. I'm sure they'll thank me someday. :)

Review 94:Couldn't stay longer - had to go home

Review 95:The setting was fabulous and hospitality great. I had a single 'stable' which was really fantastic, the facilities were totally well thought out and more than sufficient. The en suite was really great and the shower so nice after a long drive. I had more than enough room and with the stable door could open the top and have my fresh coffee watching the horses ..... great! Can wholeheartedly recommend.

Review 96:It was a very cold night & the heater has a cap on it, unfortunately the room wasn't very warm. But the bedding was more than adequate & it was better in the morning.

Review 97:The setting is lovely & accommodation very good.

Review 98:The location was handy for the NEC and was semi self catering. Although you can not cook there, the chalet does have a microwave and the local Indian food take away will deliver to the chalet.

Review 99:There was only 1 armchair; 2 would have been better, or a 2 - seater sofa. Needed to pack wellies if wandering around to see the deer.

Review 100:Location was excellent; not too far from the airport in Birmingham - i was in the area for the weekend, visiting from Ireland. The local pubs offered excellent food. The breakfast hamper was excellent value.

Review 101:no negative points

Review 102:We had a lovely break at the Stables. Coming from a city we loved the tranquillity. The Chalet was warm and spotless and the bed very comfortable. The shower cubicle was large and the shower was quite powerful and hot. Checking in and out couldn't have been easier. Although the weather was cold and raining for both days we managed to see the deer and check out the horses. Lovely place.

Review 103:Limited kitchenware such as no baking tray. Limited view of the shy deer in February. NOt really set up for small children but it worked well for us. No gas so all heating is electric standalone radiators. Although the roof is ideal for solar panels. This would save the owner lots of money plus make holiday makers feel like they are having an 'eco-holiday' and not worry about the excess electricity use.

Review 104:We stayed in chalet 9 - one bedroom apartment. This had a large comfy double bed with large en-suit shower (I could fit in with my 2 and 4 year old). We would have liked a bath for the kids but the large shower worked well. The sitting room was sizeable with mini kitchenette. The double sofa bed worked well for my 4 year old and we were provided with a put up single bed for my two year old which also worked well and fit in the sitting room but there was space in the bed room for it. We were offered the choice of put up single bed or cot bed or blow up mattress. The kitchenette was small but worked for simple meals - two hobs plus combination microwave/ oven. We were provided with lots of supplies for breakfast including eggs, milk, bread, pain au choc, and cereals. This would've been topped up further if we were to request it. The owner was on hand for any questions such as local riding school etc. Overal great for a lovely weekend away.

Review 105:a full length mirror would be great....couldnt find a hair dryer anywhere. Clearer signing of numbers of chalets for arrival as we arrived in the dark and coudnt find one of the appartments

Review 106:Really clean and comfy. As a group of individuals on business it was perfect and the kings arms pub around the corner for our evening meal was fabulous. Just a shame we didnt have time to see the deer

Review 107:Everything was perfect in this little hideaway. Lovely setting with the horses opposite. The chalets were wonderful and so well equipped. The decor fitted beautifully, bed was comfy and shower was great. Little touches like a pint of milk just makes breakfast so much nicer! Can't wait to stay again.

Review 108:Perhaps better multi function coat hangers as wardrobe space was limited

Review 109:Excellent facility, clean and well equipped. Very peaceful surroundings and close to the village for meals out etc. Attention to detail was good, appreciated the bedside lights being put on for our return at night. Very warm, comfortable, it was a pleasure to stay there.

Review 110:A few teething details, nothing significant if attention to detail keeps improving. Some drawer space and hanging for clothes if staying .ore than one night.

Review 111:Site, peace, warmth.

Review 112:Communication from the owner, clear instructions, cleanliness and condition excellent, everything you could need. I will be looking for this kind of accommodation in future.

Review 113:The decor was lovely. The owners were so helpful. The bed was so comfortable - king size - luxury! The kitchenette and all necessary equipment was well provided, as was hamper breakfast.

Review 114:Ambience of room staying in. Breakfast hamper had an excellent selection. The staff were very friendly and helpful and dealt with any queries immediately.

Review 115:As this was our first visit to The Stables, we didn’t know exactly what to expect, however we are pleased to say that the facility exceeded or expectation in every respect. As we were working at a show at the NEC, we found the location ideal and the travel to and from the NEC is easy. The fact that it was ‘self catering’ meant that after a long day on the feet at the show, it was nice to be able to relax in our own space, and make our own choice of whether we wanted to eat in or go out. The local village of Knowle being only minutes away, provided excellent restaurant options, as well as easy late shopping for the ‘eat in’ option. The chalet itself was more than adequate for our needs in a beautiful rural setting, and the staff are polite and obliging, they don’t bother you unnecessarily, but respond quickly if required. Overall, we will definitely be booking The Stables again whether visiting the West Midlands for business or pleasure.

Review 116:to say that it was self catering with kitchenette was a bit of a stretch as it was just a sink, microwave and toaster but no bowl or dish to microwave in and very few kithcen utensils. As a DEER park i was expecting more than 4 deer!

Review 117:it was ideally situated for the even t we had come to attend and was reasonably priced. If you have kids into horses it would be wonderful. It was a pleasant experience

Review 118:Staff went out of their way to help out, beautiful secure setting with everything thought of. Excellent wifi and the comfiest bed. Excellent breakfast choisces and food packs. Attention to detail is fantastic. I will definitely be back again and again!

Review 119:Me and my partner stayed here Saturday night and it was perfect stopping for a celebration and they had given us a congratulations card, the view was lovely, the chalet itself was so cosy and warm and had everything you needed in there. The breakfast hamper was great had all different cereals and bread couldn't of asked for a better stay would deffonatley recommend this place

Review 120:The fridge was a little noisy, but it wasn't really a problem as I turned if off at night and the milk was still fresh in the morning.

Review 121:This was the perfect place for me to spend my last few days in the UK before returning home after traveling for 3 months. Heather is a wonderful host and her 3 dogs the most friendly, smoochy dogs I have met.The self check-in was easy, the facilities very clean and comfortable and the setting very tranquil with horses and deer as neighbours. I loved the breakfast hamper so could have breakfast at my own leisure. Overall I would rate this as one of the best places I stayed in on my extended holiday.
