Reviews for The Swan Hotel

Review 1:The mattress was not very comfortable. A lot of noise from the street as from around 5am, sounded like trucks, garbage trucks maybe. The water in the shower was not enough warm. Tricky to arrive to the hotel by car. It was not possible with my TomTom GPS. Advice: use Google, with the location that is in Google and ask for directions to it. It will drive you directly to the car park, which is in the back of the building. You can not arrive to the front door by car, as it is a pedestrian area.

Review 2:Very big room, super clean. Room very well equipped. Staff very professional and smiling... Free car parking. Very good breakfast. I took continental and the croissants were really perfect, like in France!

Review 3:Stayed in room 301 Which was a large room but the noise from near by church bells was very load so had to turn up tv volume to hear.

Review 4:Hotel was clean and comfortable. Beds are large and comfy. Staff were very helpful.

Review 5:Breakfast, no juice glasses, no butter given, burnt toast, no coffee or tea refill. 20 minute wait on food. Int the room, the towel rail was so close to knees when sat on the loo, burnt knee. No top sheet on bed, only duvet cover.

Review 6:Staff were lovely, location good.

Review 7:Shaver socket in first room didn't work; desk lamp in second room didn't work. In fairness staff then found me a nice, fully functioning room. I will stay there again.

Review 8:Good central location, obliging staff and nice breakfast

Review 9:Nothing,

Review 10:I loved it, it was central to everything. I parked my car and that's where it stayed for the weekend, as I was meeting friends in the town centre. The room was very relaxing and breakfast was wonderful.

Review 11:Bathroom needed updating, had no control with heating in the room and had no heating at all in the bathroom.

Review 12:Location excellent, we were upgraded to the four poster room which was a lovely suprise! Breakfast good with lots of choice.

Review 13:There wasn't anything to not like. I felt bad leaving my in house "bear" still seeking adoption

Review 14:Great refurb of historical building.Wonderful bed & linen, gorgeous bath sheets. In house decor chic plus yummy food.

Review 15:Stayed at the swan many times I did not have a great experience at breakfast Cutlery was dirty Had to ask for my coffee and when I did got a bit of a awkward look from the waitress Made me feel a little uncomfortable to ask for anything else

Review 16:Stayed at the swan many times and loved it .. The staff are amazing I love the location Rooms are very comfortable

Review 17:Maybe, the address needs to be modified, or some sort of advice given. We had problems getting to the hotel. If the address for the car park was provided, it'll make it easier for the Satnav to find it. However, a member of staff came out of the hotel at the front and the car park to make sure that we found the car park. So, problem solved!

Review 18:We loved the place and the brasserie. All members were extremely helpful, very polite and friendly, nothing was a problem for them. They made our stay at The Swan, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Review 19:Thought with it being a superior room it would have a bath but it didn't, all it had was a small shower which the water pressure was poor on and wouldn't get above a tepid temperature

Review 20:Bed was great, really comfy

Review 21:A little bit expensive but anyway very happy with my stay in the Swan Hotel.

Review 22:The location, in the middle of Stafford surrounded by nice ancient buildings. The staff, very nice and kind. Good room service. The room, big and comfortable for our 6 year.old child and for us (one small bed and one king size bed).

Review 23:Great location in the centre of Stafford. The place has charm and is welcoming. If the bedroom didn't quite live up to the expectations generated by the public rooms - it was perfectly acceptable (and very large!).

Review 24:A little noisy - our room faced the street and was quite hot so needed the window open which meant putting up with street revellers. Also a live band on which meant the place was packed out.

Review 25:Staff and food excellent. Wedding meal served promptly with a smile despite the fact that half of us couldn't remember what we ordered! Food hot and great quality. Everyone so helpful. Convenient location for us attending a wedding in town.

Review 26:A little noisy from the outdoor area but seemed to stop come midnight. Nice early wake up call from the church bells at 6am.

Review 27:Lovely hotel in a great location. Massive room. Stayed here while doing V festival at Weston Park. Didn't get to check in until 11pm but they had got everything in hand.

Review 28:Breakfast was amazing but they did take our order and forgot about it and we were waiting half an hour before reminding them.

Review 29:Gorgeous central hotel, a restaurant bar & coffee shop all there too, beautiful rooms. Amazing breakfast. Receptionist was lovely and very helpful.

Review 30:Just found wi fi difficult to connect too. That's the only thing.

Review 31:It's such a great hotel and the staff are brilliant couldn't fault anything

Review 32:noise level at front of hotel. room stuffy only 1 window opens about 1 inch bed not great but could be just because woken early by town delivery traffic and cleaners. we could only get a 'budget' room when booking so i'd guess the more you spend.....

Review 33:great looking hotel, friendly staff, good food

Review 34:Our bedroom has a distinct sloping floor. A cup of tea put on a side table slid and crashed on the floor. Bed was so bouncy and hard

Review 35:Restaurant was good

Review 36:As part of our reservation, we requested a quiet room however we received a room directly across from the elevator. We could hear the elevator's chimes & floor announcements. When we requested another room we were told that the hotel was fully booked. Luckily, the noise from the elevator did not disturb our sleep, however a light- sleeper may have a problem.

Review 37:We really enjoyed the on-site restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast. Excellent meals served by friendly staff.

Review 38:Ideal location and the most attentive dining staff for a special lunch with cousins from NZ and Midlands. Excellent generous meals and NZ wines which could not be faulted!

Review 39:You could hear the hand dryer from the rest room go off all morning and could hear people in other rooms which made our sleep not pleasant

Review 40:We were welcomed in after a night out in town

Review 41:Disorganised breakfast but you are not left with an empty stomach in the morning.I think there is room for improvement here. Dangerous to dare a stroll at night time as many binge drinkers roaming around

Review 42:Location next to my area of business / leisure interest.Good fun with children nearby.

Review 43:Noise in bedroom from bar below ,this did stop after midnight and must be due to poor sound deadening as we could hear the bar staff clearing up after the bad closed

Review 44:Good food, nice friendly staff in an old hotel full of charm

Review 45:One way road system made arriving by car a trial not helped. Postcode on confirmation was wrong as it turned out needing a phone call to the hotel to get the right one. Doddle after that.

Review 46:Good location with an excellent restaurant in site. Plenty of parking and really nice to be able to walk out into the high street. Lots to do in the area. Good value for money.

Review 47:Bit noisy at night with revelers directly below room

Review 48:Liked the position of the hotel, Staff were very good, especially Noeme. Lovely old building, in town center.

Review 49:Central location. Good food, good service, friendly, helpful staff. What more could you ask? We could not have chosen a better place to stay in Stafford. We were given a complementary upgrade and were most impressed with everything about the hotel.

Review 50:Bistro completely booked, no reserved tables for guests and no advance warning booking was needed. Hotel bar is more like a nightclub than a pleasant bar. Noisy room above Ladies toilet, constant hand dryer noise until the early hours. Very thin walls, other guests movements easily heard. Very expensive considering the above

Review 51:Central location, easy access to shops and restaurants of Stafford. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast good. Free parking

Review 52:I would have liked a full length mirror in my room and I would have liked to take the bear home with me !

Review 53:I liked the cleanliness, comfort and warmth of the room and bathroom. I enjoyed the relaxation of the dining area. I liked the proximity of the bars within the hotel. Excellent breakfast with great choice of menu. Great design overall of hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked that there were bottles of water in the room. Easy close parking for car.

Review 54:Really enjoyed our dinner - innovative menu, good quality food & wine - such a change from the usual stodge the British are noted for. Left a valued item behind & it was kindly returned to me via post free of charge for which I'm most grateful.

Review 55:We were asked to move tables because a very rude couple came in off the street and demanded to sit in our seats. They should have been told to leave as we were staying there.

Review 56:The staff were excellent. Breakfast was fantastic

Review 57:hot water not quite hot enough for my liking, but I'm picky. moved to small double after 2 nights... didn't quite live up to the previous room and cost was actually higher!

Review 58:lovely, clean, large double room friendly staff great town centre location

Review 59:Car park is not very easy to find Not enough staff in the bar area considering it was run into xmas only 1 staff in each bar

Review 60:Hotel was right on the high street The room we booked was lovely clean and spacious Breakfast was very good Our room was on the front of the hotel we didn't hear any noise considering the hotel was full xmas parties Would defiantly return

Review 61:We would prefer the checkout time to be twelve midday but not a problem

Review 62:The swan is the perfect retreat for a relaxing weekend stay We love the location in the town for shopping and the nightclub casa where we go great staff very helpful and friendly

Review 63:Bit pricey. So glad we went through booking. Com.

Review 64:The location. Friendliness of staff. Cleanliness of the hotel. Popularity of the hotel. Good hearty food.

Review 65:Not happy about bedroom .. As iv book for four of us .. We pay same as prices .. But my freind got lovely bedroom .. My one is cheap one .. But I pay same prices as my freind too .. Not happy with it .

Review 66:Not knowing about things in advance e.g. you stop serving meals in the bar at lunchtime on Saturdays even when your bistro is fully booked. You really should NOT advertise WiFi unless you can guarantee it in every room. It didn't work in my room.

Review 67:The way that your staff managed to get things done even when there were problems.

Review 68:Being picky - Wifi didn't work in our room The mattress was a bit soft for my liking

Review 69:The room was charming. Big brick fireplace, good hospitality tray. Hotel very oretty decorated for Christmas (end of November) Excellent breakfast

Review 70:The room location was noisy, far to hot the bed was uncomfortable, the rooms floor sloped to much causing my wife's drink to fall of onto her £140 ugg boots destroying them. For the 2nd time only 1 big bath towel. Horrible visit for £129

Review 71:Nothing on this visit

Review 72:Lack of signs leading you to the hotel car park

Review 73:Although we had a problem with our dog initially , our room was satisfactory. The dinner was very average but the breakfast was excellent & the staff friendly & obliging

Review 74:Road sweepers very early on Friday morning.

Review 75:The staff is fantastic. All were very friendly & helpful, everything they did was with such good grace.

Review 76:The weather...

Review 77:We complained about the kitchen fan outside our room and were immediately upgraded and with a smile. Apologies but we don't remember the lady's name, she was from Poland. You have a great one there. Also we were very impressed by the restaurant staff. All were helpful, polite and friendly. So refreshing.

Review 78:Put in wrong room-small double & not superior as booked Was transferred when I checked with reception Poor service in restaurant & sat near toilet in corridor!

Review 79:Large room ,eventually Nice decor Well located Great breakfast menu & food was of a good standard

Review 80:The staff was excellent from arrival to departure very helpful and pleasant . I'd recommend this hotel to any1, Amazing time and will be visiting again soon

Review 81:Room was spotlessly clean. Bed was big and very comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee etc Good TV Bathroom was excellent. And as for TED!!!! :-)

Review 82:Normal tariff is not great value, I got £70 which was good value. WiFi was very poor. Read the hotel website to find the car park...........

Review 83:Friendly and welcoming. Convenient car park. Decent breakfast. Lively bar - this may not suit all though... Central so lots of restaurants around.

Review 84:I didn't realize that breakfast was included with my stay. When I checked out it was too late to get the breakfast. However, the woman at the front desk gave me some fruit and a tea which was very nice.

Review 85:The front desk staff were friendly, warm and welcoming and they were very helpful. Especially the gentleman who was working the desk when I checked in. Exceptional customer service! My room was clean and comfortable. I had a lovely stay and will definitely stay at The Swan Hotel again if I ever return to Stafford.

Review 86:Lively scene on arrival Friday evening, which we were too tired after long journey to appreciate.

Review 87:Very helpful, friendly staff. Spacious, comfortable room. Plentiful, varied breakfast.

Review 88:1. The car park is off Mill Street and not where sat nav takes you. Could the postcode of the camera shop on Mill Street be given for the carp park? 2. The kitchen ran out of coleslaw for the piri piri chicken. The replacement salad was bland.

Review 89:1.Every member of staff we met was smiling 2. The owner was on the premises 3. Everything we saw had a "cared for" look 4. Food from the bar menu was very good - but see the "didn't likes"

Review 90:Nothing to dislike at all!

Review 91:Overall look and feel of the place is cosy and comfortable Lovely food, nice bar and small double was very good and in fact better than most places you stay at comparable cost

Review 92:A/C unit directly over bed which was a little noisy and intrusive to leave on overnight during heatwave. Loose headboard rm 301.

Review 93:Character of hotel, comfort of room and service and quality of restaurant. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay there again...only wish it was closer to home!!!
