Reviews for Royal Temple Yacht Club
Review 1:their check in time is 9.00 PM which is very inconvenient if you travel from London. There is no 24 hours reception. I arrived at 12.30 am and stayed outside because nobody could open the door. had booked for 2 nights and had to spend the first night in another facility.(luckily they had a free room! ) They do not wanted to refund the amount for the first night, no invoice was given and the 9 pm check in was not clearly described. When you have such check in time you must make sure the customers see it. Unfriendly staff. Avoid
Review 2:nothing
Review 3:The Royal Temple Yacht Club is perfectly located on Ramsgate sea front, with spectacular harbour views. It is within easy walking distance of the areas restaurants and nightlife. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are welcoming. I will be returning on my next visit to Ramsgate.
Review 4:The hotel is a little tired to say the least. But it does have a certain charm about it.The carpet was ill fitting with visible gaps around the edges. And many corners had thick dust particularly around the TV cabinet There was no phone in the rooms and no one overnight which did worry us a bit .It was an extremely hot 2 nights we stayed , no air con and we asked for a fan which was supplied, no hairdryer also.Broken hangers in the wardrobe which lets face it aren't exactly expensive to replace. The beds were comfy and clean also towels, the staff were friendly .It is a long way up the stairs to the hotel outside and in but the view is amazing
Review 5:Location great
Review 6:No breakfast but same price as last year. Leaky ceiling in room, promised room move in morning but changed my plans for the day to move in the afternoon and was then told I was not being moved.:( Shower room dingy, grubby bathmat. Toilet often unclean and once ran out of toilet roll! pedestal mat! ugh! Filthy cord pull for light switch, very unhygienic. Noise coming from room across roof, snoring, water running, radio, loud voices late at night. Room not cleaned for 3 days.
Review 7:It was handy for the 'loop' bus stop so I could get to Broadstairs.
Review 8:Thought it strange that towels were changed but bins weren't emptied in the room. Tea, coffee etc wasn't replaced and the 4 milks that we used were replaced with 3 ! (small things that the view more than made up for).
Review 9:Lovely quirky hotel. Magnificent views over the harbour and friendly staff. Great location with lots of bars and eateries.
Review 10:No air conditioning.
Review 11:The staff were excellent and helped with any questions. Very pleasant. Room was kept in a good order and the bed was comfortable.
Review 12:There are a lot of stairs, both to get into the building and to get to the rooms, so that is difficult if you have a lot of luggage. The decor is quite tired and there was nowhere to hang bath towels.
Review 13:The rooms with a sea view are large with plenty of room for luggage and with opening windows on a warm day there was ample fresh air. It was very quiet at night for sleeping and whilst the furniture is quite sparse it was adequate.Good shower with plenty of hot water.
Review 14:Where do I begin, There was no service all, only 2 nights but staff still asked us to sign the quest book!!! Didn't know we were staying!!! Left sign out for room to be made up didn't happen by 9.30pm . made our own beds washed our own cups made do. Take your own everything except towels. Sample soap, no hairdryer, shower Gel, breakfast, staff, go back to your yacht for supplies!
Review 15:The location and view were excellent, downstairs bar lovely, outside seating as well.
Review 16:NO READING LAMP IN BEDROOM NOISEY AND SMELLY TOILET AND A LOT OF STAIRS NO LIFT NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY PROBLEMS BIBLE IN BEDROOM
Review 17:PRIME LOCATION WITH TERRACE OVERLOOKING HARBOUR
Review 18:Although aware of having to share bathroom facilities as room was not en-suite when booking it was inconvenient during the night.
Review 19:Friendly staff, clean & comfortable public areas, bedroom clean and comfortable.
Review 20:The bathrooms are somewhat old, but nothing insurmountable
Review 21:Staff is very friendly, the fact that it is a Yacht Club gives it a particular atmosphere, and the building is quite charming. The rooms are big, and the sea view is great! Lots of cafes and restaurants around for breakfast.
Review 22:The room was small and bed slightly uncomfortable. There was no en suite in this particular room, and there was no breakfast.
Review 23:The location was excellent, right above the harbour and close to the town. The property had lots of character, a rambling old building that is a working yacht club. Value for money was good.
Review 24:I think they could increase toiletries to include shampoo and it took us ages to open the windows which was necessary as it was very hot and stuffy. I think the room should have been aired. However small issues and a beautiful location which made up for small irritations.
Review 25:View and history plus lovely drinks terrace
Review 26:Plastic cover on mattress made the bed sweaty and its a shame that all rooms aren't en suite.
Review 27:There's lots of maritime memorabilia flags, pictures etc in the hallways which gives the place a special feel. Staff are lovely and location next to harbour was great.
Review 28:It was cold no heating towels were to small and rough night barmaid was moody no one to hand key into next morning will not stay there again
Review 29:Where it was and the views
Review 30:Could not fault the RTYC - we may have gotten up too late, 9:30, we felt we missed breakfast, there wasn't that much information available. Not the problem of the RTYC either however there was a pub along the road that played live music until midnight.
Review 31:The room was a perfect size or us with an amazing view over the harbour. If you wake up early enough you get the sunrise over the sea, we felt this was a magical experience. The staff where incredibly friendly. The decor fascinating and traditional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Review 32:No hair dryer. Very cheap tatty wire coat hangers in wardrobe.
Review 33:Wonderful view of the harbour. Large room, very comfortable bed, good quality linnen.Leather chairs and coffee table to sit at to enjoy the scenery.
Review 34:Parking difficult, on street if you are lucky otherwise multi story car park.
Review 35:Wonderful location looking out over the harbour, well worth the extra money for a sea-view room. Bar is a fantastic room.
Review 36:Noisy saniflow toilet, didn't feel that safe coming round the back of the hotel late at night especially considering the local drinkers... trashing the place.
Review 37:It was handy for the purposes of my visit, pleasant welcome by staff.
Review 38:There was no bedside lamp and so you had to keep walking across the room to turn the lights on/off. The television was extremely small and situated at the far side of the room.
Review 39:It has an old world ambience and charm, added to a magnificent location.
Review 40:Very tired room decorative order, could do with a deep clean as dusty ,and marks in shower. No breakfast...( i should have checked first ) I wouldnt have booked the room.
Review 41:Nice Bar area.. Staff helpful
Review 42:no free beer , yoke yoke.
Review 43:a most friendly place to stay, was spoken to by some of the members over beer. next time in Ramsgate an needed a bed ,this the one we would pick.
Review 44:My daughter had a very small room with no outlook to speak of (just a wall).
Review 45:The location was amazing, the bed was really comfortable and everything was very clean. We were upgraded to a room overlooking the harbour so the view was fantastic.
Review 46:I thought the continental breakfast set out on the landing and eaten alone in my room was a bit sad. Would have preferred to sit enjoying the view, people watching.
Review 47:Lovely bar with fabulous view across the marina and lots of yachting memorabilia. Comfortable clean room, friendly staff. Very good value.
Review 48:cheaper rooms are tiny and not well maintained with poor showers, well overpriced for what they are.
Review 49:The more expensive rooms are really nice, Breakfast was fantastic and great decor.
Review 50:Can be a bit noisy in the corridors with people shutting doors and talking as they head to the breakfast trolley.
Review 51:Breakfast trolley - a really good idea. Takes the pressure off going down to breakfast within a certain time (usually too early). Nice ambiance. Noted that the Telegraph was the only Sunday paper available ;-)
Review 52:No internal telephone connection with any member of staff. Checking out at 08.00 on Sunday place reminiscent of 'Marie Celeste' absolutely no sign of human life!!! sending copy of my letter of complaint to Booking.com.
Review 53:Very basic room in a tired state of decoration would be depressing were it not for the view of harbour. A cupboard and fridge on an upstairs landing with advice to 'help yourself to cornflakes and toast (sliced bread) in the morning' does not constitute a breakfast bar by any definition. Being made to feel unwelcome by guests of a Fri night black tie function.
Review 54:Lovely old building, room with view of the harbour, friendly staff.
Review 55:A nice building with a good size bar and outside sitting area. The staff are very nice and friendly. Room was spacious but lacked a few touches. A table between the beds for drinks. Tv needs retuning as it kept freezing. Bathroom modern and clean but no shampoo or shower gel or hairdryer. Standard in this day and age. The bedrooms are up 2 flights of stairs so not suitable for elderly or disabled people. Breakfast is a do it yourself affair with a help yourself cereal and toaster. Not what I like but ok for 1 night.
Review 56:Basic breakfast , toast & jam , apple and banana and corn flakes or rice crispies . In corridor, help yourself, eat in room, no table!
Review 57:Room good, great views, good bar and club house, friendly staff, reasonable price.
Review 58:Inadequate bed-side table & light. Breakfast just O.K. but dull.
Review 59:View Cleanliness Staff pleasant and helpful Bed v. comfortable Friendliness of members
Review 60:noisy fan in wall next to bed - complained and they explained that it would turn off after preparation of meal - which it did - huge relief as it might have gone on all night and would have disturbed us
Review 61:close to harbour and quite unique ie all the sailing trophies etc
Review 62:The location was great. The hotel was very clean and the price was fantastic

Review 90:Staff, facilities, decor, views.. SEAFOOD PLATTER AT LUNCH!
Review 91:No breakfast facilities Long steps up to rooms.
Review 92:Location, ambiance and staff Bar and general rooms
Review 93:Friendliness of staff, nearness to town and buses and view from the terrace.

Review 116:The stuff were friendly. The hotel it self was high quilty, very interested. Stay again.
Review 117:The wifi was unusable, which is rather poor when one would like to have contact at the end of a long day
Review 118:Closeness to the coast
Review 119:Shower wasn't very powerful.
Review 120:Friendly staff
Review 121:Staff, position, price history.
Review 122:Nothing bad at all.
Review 123:The hotel has lots of character. The staff are really friendly without being fawning. The location is perfect.
