Reviews for Hôtel Régina
Review 1:Very basic - no frills Tiny small lift - barely big enough for one person. Place looked run down and neglected Staff made no effort to be helpful
Review 2:It was clean and reasonably priced
Review 3:First given a room that stunk of cigarettes which we refused. The next room offered was acceptable except that there was no heating in the room at all on a cold October evening! Radiators did not work, hotel staff gave us an electric heater on request but this did not work either as it was broken, after bringing the broken heater to the attention of the manager he ranted something in French and just walked off never to return! The bed was as hard as a brick that left us with aching shoulders and sore hips! Went to pay the bill in the morning to be met by the same person sat at the reception desk in his vest! It was an experience like something out of Fawlty Towers ! I don't think we will be using this hotel again!
Review 4:Nothing!
Review 5:having booked through you arrived and told no booking until we showed the booking confirmation. Eventually a room was found but had not been cleaned so floor was filthy. The shower room had more holes in the wall where chunks had been cut out for repairs. The shower base had not been levelled properly so whilst having your shower you could watch water running our onto the bathroom floor. Such a shame as this is a great building and could be so nice it is only 5 minutes away from the port so very handy.
Review 6:location was good
Review 7:that there was no coffee/tea making facilities in the room or hotel in the evening
Review 8:Not a lot it was very basic the manager was helpful in supplying an extra pillow & heater for room and it was ensuite
Review 9:The Hotel needs a lot of decorating etc. It is tired. Passages very dark needs better lighting.
Review 10:The location and cleanliness. Good parking. We would stay there again.
Review 11:We didn't get the rooms we had booked but still got charged the same. The bathroom bin hadn't even been emptied from the previous person, there were hairs in the sink and bath so the bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned at all. One of the rooms had no pillowcases to which the solution given by the man on reception was to put the pillows under the sheet as they had no clean ones.......
Review 12:Good location near Roscoff ferry port and centre
Review 13:Stayed at the hotel a few years before we caught an early ferry And although dated was clean. We arrived in France late and thought we would give it another go. Unfortunately it is not only now tired and dated it was also unclean my daughter even refused to use the shower. Would not stay here again .
Review 14:The location is great .
Review 15:Decor was tired and in need of updating
Review 16:Staff were pleasant and helpful, good view from room, and within easy walking distance of restaurants. Good linen and plenty of hot water.
Review 17:Parking could be better.
Review 18:Cheap and cheerful. For an overnight stay, then its fine. Clean, tidy rooms, free WiFi and only short walking distance from main town. Overall the price we paid for 4 of us cannot grumble.
Review 19:Stairs very narrow and difficult . Lift. Just large enough for one person and small case Toilet difficult to flush. Shower over bath difficult to operate. Unable to use.
Review 20:Location
Review 21:The linen appeared freshly laundered but the room itself did not seem clean. The decor was terrible and the hotel was noisy, with music coming from somewhere during the middle of the night. The corridors to the rooms were gloomy and there were lots of dead flies on the stairs! The beds were not comfortable. Needless to say, we did not have a pleasant experience there!
Review 22:It is an attractive building but don't make the mistake of going in!
Review 23:The lift is really tiny
Review 24:Excellent location, 1 minute walk from the train station, 5 minutes to town centre. Excellent facilities, large clean bathroom, beautiful view Excellent wifi connexion even on last floor
Review 25:property was close to the ferry which was good as we had a long journey the next day. Guy on reception was cheerful. good enough value. Beds were clean but floors could do with a vacuum.
Review 26:Very basic, dated accommodation. Rooms clean, apart from some mould on bathroom ceiling but no facilities such as a kettle.
Review 27:Handy for the ferry port for an early morning departure.
Review 28:I stayed at this hotel before getting the ferry from Roscoff it was a short walk from both the ferry terminal and the town centre. Good value for money.
Review 29:We were 'greeted' by an incredibly surly owner who tried to make me pay for the room before I'd seen it. The hallways and stairs needed a good clean. The beds were so dishevelled when we entered the room that I pulled back the covers to check they had been changed from the previous occupants. I awoke at 3.30am with very itchy skin and found it difficult to go back to sleep. In the morning, I sent my children out of an open door, to the car park, as we had been instructed to do the previous evening, but, whilst in mid phone call, the rude owner shouted at me and my 11 year old daughter, then stormed off to close the door. Breakfast was €7.50 each, but I refused to let the children eat at the hotel and found a lovely, clean cafe instead. I had booked this hotel at the last minute, next time, I would choose to sleep in the car.
Review 30:location. Free parking.
Review 31:There was no facility to make a drink, or a drink machine. Breakfast is available but wasn't early enough for us to make use of. The lift going up the stairs has enough room for two people standing close together and would not be suitable for wheelchairs.
Review 32:It was clean and very close to the port and restaurants.
Review 33:Very convenient for the port. Comfortable beds, rooms pretty basic but were adequate for our overnight needs. Lots of hot water, so a good bath in the morning. Breakfast okay but could have had cereals on offer for children. For a short stay I can recommend this hotel.
Review 34:I booked 2 rooms - a double for me and wife and a quadruple room for son, daughter-in-law and 2 very young children who were arriving on boat from Plymouth that evening. On our arrival in the afternoon we were told NO quadruple and given 2 Three person rooms instead. Unable to cancel this booking because we were only told they were unable to fulfill the contract we had when we arrived. NOT satisfactory as I had to pay contracted costs - told we were 6 people. Room 109 had a faulty toilet which required manual intervention to fill water tank. Room 110 had a stand for a TV but no TV on it. Total disaster!! Although the bed was clean the actual fitments and carpets were awful and damaged and the carpet very stained.
Review 35:Good old fashioned no frills French style hotel. Easy to find as it's by the train station. Good position. Good prices for family rooms. Have stayed several times and will stay again.
Review 36:The decor was very tired and there was mould on the bathroom door. Breakfast wasn't until 8 which was too late as we were catching the ferry. Whole place in desperate need of a revamp.
Review 37:Clean sheets and bathroom.
Review 38:A little
Review 39:Overnight stop before ferry. Perfectly functional, no frills hotel with clean, basic rooms. Clean bed & hot shower was all that was required and this delivered.
Review 40:There was no information provided in the room about the Wi-Fi login code.
Review 41:We wanted cheep and cheerful and that's what we found. It has the smallest lift ever!
Review 42:The staff were excellent, friendly and very willing to help a stranger with very limited French language skills. I had a slight problem with the Wifi, which turned out to be my equipment and a very helpful young man was knocking at my door within minutes, sorting out my connection problem.
Review 43:Small private car park on site and a large public one behind. Also public spaces on road outside. We have stayed here 4 times now and have never had parking problems. Nice walk of 5 minutes into the centre where restaurants etc are located.
Review 44:The water in the shower wasn't very warm. We had to get the manager to turn the thermostat up.
Review 45:Walking distance from the ferry port and town centre, and very handy for the train to Morlaix.
Review 46:Building is quite dated and could do with some modernising.
Review 47:Great location. Clean and comfortable beds. Clean towels and supply of toilettries. Quiet and spaceous rooms.
Review 48:The hotel is looking shabby but work is in progress. There's not much to not like. It's inexpensive and comfortable. If you're used to The Ritz this may not be the place for you but for most people this is great value for money.
Review 49:I have stayed here a couple of times this year. On my first visit my room was shabby and in need of updating. On my second visit my room was fresh, newly painted with a good standard of facilities. I will continue to use this hotel on my regular visits when catching the ferry to UK. The lady at reception was friendly and efficient.
Review 50:We asked for a room for daughter and father and two young grand daughters 2 double beds not ideal. Granddaughter discover an empty tissue box (fortunately only a dirty tissue!) and vast amounts of dirt and dust under the beds. Room not cleaned or towels changed for second night. At 1830 on return managed to get replacement bath towels but only 2 hand towels . Girl on duty shrugged her shoulders when asked about cleaning and bed making. On leaving said I was disgusted she said the manager did not care!!!! I am very happy with basic F1 Hotels this however was a shock too far and feel we should be compensated. Breakfast on day one was acceptable but poor. It could be an amazing hotel . Our floor was cheap laminated not fitted correctly and lifting. Bathroom tiles missing by Lavatory , no toilet roll holder or towel rails mouldy wallpaper by bath and wash basin.
Review 51:Convenient position ,safe parking .
Review 52:Felt like a place that was about to close down and go out of business. No restaurant. Old decor and facilities. No coffee/tea making facilities. Insufficient towels. Rooms booked over the internet were not available and we had to take alternatives even though the place seemed practically uninhabited! All in all very Fawlty towers
Review 53:The roof didn't leak.
Review 54:A very run down hotel, wall paper peeling off walls, would not want to have a bath/shower, dirty carpet basically in a very state and a bit damp smelly. Sheets where clean and fresh though did not dare look what was under the sheets though.
Review 55:10 minutes from ferry terminal, 5 minutes from small town center
Review 56:Hotel seems quite tired, our booking was messed up and no family room available despite having booked many months ago. They did, however, provide us with a double and a twin room at no extra cost, although this did mean us splitting up to sleep with the children.
Review 57:Convenient for town & ferry, competitively priced.
Review 58:No wifi password available at obvious convenience, a few wires as hazards in walls
Review 59:Friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable beds with all requires facilities
Review 60:Corridors, fixtures, fittings very dated. No record of our booking when we tried to check in.
Review 61:Cleanliness of bed linen and towels. Comfy beds. Very quiet. Good location for ferry port and Roscoff town centre.
Review 62:We stayed for 2 nights and our room wasn't cleaned or beds madeafter the first night.
Review 63:The hotel was as convenient as any of the other hotels in Roscoff (about1km from the ferry terminal). The owner allowed us to check in early atno extra cost. He was very friendly and welcoming and went out of hisway to accommodate us. We stayed in the family room with 2 good sizedouble beds and an en suite with large shower, wash hand basin andtoilet. Everything was clean and the towels and bedding freshlylaundered. Breakfast was very good value (the going rate for a standardbreakfast in Roscoff is 6 euro which consists of a bit of bread, acroissant, a glass of orange juice and a coffee. Breakfast at the hotelwas 7 euro. It was buffet style so you could help yourself to as much asyou wanted. The choice was fresh bread and croissants, yoghurt, aselection of cold meat and brie. There was also bottled water, orangejuice and coffee. As my son is too young to drink coffee, the owner madehim a jug of hot chocolate each morning. I agree with previous commentsthat it could do with a bit of a revamp, but for a 2 star hotel, I thinkthis is as good as you'll get. I'll definitely stay again if wemake the journey back to Roscoff.
Review 64:Although we had pre arranged early check in, free of charge, only oneroom was available. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities inour rooms.
Review 65:Clean rooms with very comfortable beds; location great -easy walk intotown and short taxi drive from ferry port (7 euros a taxi), right nextto train station. Man at desk friendly and helpful, even opened ourbottle of wine for us and offered us wine glasses for our room. Closeto some excellent restaurants. Basic hotel with good free wifi. Wewould return.
Review 66:Dark corrider, until we found the timer light switch.
Review 67:Excellant mattresses, good noghts sleep after the ferry trip. Easy to walfk into and around Roscoff. Decor tired but clean and cosy.
Review 68:We stayed at the hotel twice, once on the way out and once on the way home. The hotel is very central and within walking distance to the lovely harbour side. Also close to the ferry port and easy to find, due to the hotel being well signposted. The gentleman (possibly the owner) who greeted us was very helpful, friendly and polite. Although the decor is a bit dated as stated in other reviews I have read, this didn't matter to us. The bedrooms/en suite bathroom were immaculately clean. The sheets were crisp and gleaming white. The beds were very comfortable. I would recomend this hotel and on future visits to Roscoff, we will definitely stay here again. Merci beaucoup Hotel Regina. :)
Review 69:It seems like there was only one staff on duty. There were no tea/coffee in the room, like you usually get in hotel rooms. The facilities were older than expected.
Review 70:The room was clean and tidy and I slept well, which is the main thing.
Review 71:Well, I haven't had any big problems, more like a few nuances. The hotel feels a bit old compared to the others. It is not really a "service", more like it is a place to sleep.
Review 72:The hotel is very close to the train station and also not far from the city center. The room and breakfast was fine. As for the staff I've seen one gentlemen who did everything but he was nice and helpful. Not being very good with English, but able to explain everything I needed.
Review 73:The hotel was dark in corridors with steep stairs. It was in a 50.s style with modifications done along the way!!! We had a kettle in one room and no kettle in the other. neither room had cups and saucers and any tea or coffee. Old type wooden wardrobes.
Review 74:It was close to the town and was easy to walk into town with no hills involved for my Mom who has difficult walking. The hotel was situated in a quite area of the town with parking on the garden at the back of the hotel. There is a lift that two people can get in, very small in size. Breakfast was basic but the room was light and flt good inside. Food was enough for a basic breakfast. The rooms had plenty of fresh towels. The hotel manager let us in at 1200 noon as we arrived at the hotel at 0800 after disembarking from the ferry.
Review 75:It was old and rather shabby. The staff we met seemed like they were just filling in raster than the actual staff of the hotel.
Review 76:It had a private car park. We were only charged for the adults breakfasts not the children's. It was very convient to walk into town.
Review 77:The noise coming from someone singing in the vicinity at 2am.
Review 78:The man on reception was very accommodating about us arriving in the early hours of the morning. I can't assess the facilities as we were only there to sleep for 6hours and then we left.
Review 79:It's by the motorway and far from anywhere to grab a meal. The hotel does have a restaurant but only Monday-Thursday. Breakfast is €9 per head. Also, booking.com quoted £57 for the room, but my bank statement says £68.
Review 80:The room was pretty decent - modern fittings, excellent bathroom
Review 81:Carpets filthy Doors broken Window frames broken No shower curtain Hotel receptionist was rude General condition of rooms worse than a student bedsit
Review 82:Location was good for the Ferry
Review 83:There were 5 of us in two rooms but even so I think the money we paid was a lot for the quality of the hotel. It needs a lot of updating; we have stayed in far superior hotels for the same money. But all said and done the location was good as we tipped straight off the evening ferry into bed!
Review 84:The location and the parking were very straight forward. The receptionist/manager was laid back but friendly. The surrounding area was very quiet.
Review 85:Uncomfortable beds and location close to the station.
Review 86:Cleanliness of rooms and facilities and reasonable price. Availability of family rooms at no extra cost. View over rooftops to the sea.
Review 87:the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 88:it was close to the ferry terminal, the view from the room was nice, room was large and clean. The hotel had plenty of character. Late check out an advantage.
Review 89:Couldn't even get a cup of coffe in the morning as we hadn't booked a breakfast. The chap seemed half pleased to book us in but well pleased to be shot of us in the morning. Quite odd.
Review 90:Location and Cost
Review 91:The corridors very dark until we found light switch The hotel is a bit tired looking and needs updating
Review 92:The man at reception was friendly and helpful The room set up w/c on one side of bedroom Bath/shower wash basin on the other. "Murphy must have been there"
Review 93:The bin had not been emptied in the bathroom from the previous occupant
Review 94:Cold and no heating
Review 95:Easy to find & park
Review 96:Room was cold
Review 97:Staff were helpful and garden parking good
Review 98:2 beds pushed together....sheet did not fit....6inches of mattress showing both sides of bed.... Beds separated in the night! Dated decor.....
Review 99:Good breakfast. Ideal location for the ferry to Spain.
Review 100:Close to the Ferry and centre of the town.
Review 101:Very friendly staff. Hotel was spotless.Room was clean and comfortable. Off street parking, great for motorcyclists.
Review 102:The shower wet the whole bathroom floor unless you were very careful.
Review 103:Decor could do with updating
Review 104:Free car parking space available
Review 105:Very basic and apparently in decline...
Review 106:Very cheap and convenient for the ferry.
Review 107:It was too small with no facilities.
Review 108:Near to the ferry port
Review 109:The bed was clean but a small double
Review 110:Fine for an overnight.
Review 111:Everything, worst hotel I have ever stayed in and would never ever book to go back. Terrible hotel.
Review 112:Nothing
Review 113:breakfast was indifferent. The room was rather overcrowded.
Review 114:clean cotton sheets. hot bath! friendly welcome.
Review 115:My room had damp around the windows. My granddaughter suffered because of it!
Review 116:The guy who did everything!
Review 117:The room was what you would expect for the price, the rooms were well used and tired ( mold on walls, old wallpaper).
Review 118:Location to the ferry
Review 119:Liked the friendly receptionist
Review 120:Cheap and cheerful
Review 121:It has seen better days
Review 122:Fine building in easy location
Review 123:convenience of location
Review 124:Great location for ferry port at Roscoff, friendly hotel manager, beds comfy...just the job for a stopover with two tired babies!
Review 125:No room for mum and daughter in survey form Did not use Wi-Fi so can't comment
Review 126:Very convenient for port
Review 127:Not being able to have a cup of coffee in the morning before leaving for our boat.
Review 128:Comfortable and clean bed.
Review 129:Great value for a stopover before early ferry the following morning. Clean and good location for exploring the lovely town of roscoff.
