Reviews for Hotel Spa Thalasstonic

Review 1:The staff were arrogant, the place looked like Butlins, very tired, and the car park was 250 metres away from the hotel, not good when its raining. Don't waste your money, there are far better hotels in Roscoff

Review 2:We had asked for an early arrival room as we had come on the ferry from Ireland but we eventually got a room at .2.30 .surely one room could be got ready early even if the hotel is full . Someone would have left earl

Review 3:Relocation and breakfast was good

Review 4:The room door kept opening on its own ! This was even after locked which was alarming in the morning when it had been open in the night . Also parking was a bit of a walk

Review 5:The spa was beyond expectations

Review 6:WI FI quite poor in bedrooms Guests should be made aware that the main bar only stocks vegetable juices No Alcohol!!

Review 7:Very clean rooms with lovely sheets

Review 8:Unfriendly staff. Hot breakfast ran out at 9.15am and not replenished (as dining staff more interested in laying up for lunch!). Beds rock hard & hardly any stuffing to the pillows. Room & corridor carpet dirty. Bar stank. Spa shower in room sprays all over towels, loo roll, etc as it's stupidly positioned opposite the shower! Bedroom balconies look like low budget Butlins type accommodation & the building does not fit the rest of the Roscoff building ambience. Far better hotels in Roscoff than this one and will NEVER stay there again!

Review 9:Location.

Review 10:Downside was the car park being a little way from the hotel. With two dogs and the weather this proved slightly tricky! Nothing to be done about it as Roscoff is very small with lots of one way traffic - just an observation and something other travellers may wish to consider.

Review 11:Lovely view of beach/ocean.

Review 12:The older customers using the spa clearly weren't happy about the children using the spa facilities and were very rude

Review 13:Beach location was great and room size was very generous.

Review 14:The hotel is clearly in need of renovation. Don't trust the pictures. It is a three star hotel, so the four stars from booking.com are not justified. Definitely overpriced. We asked for a room with sea-view and could see the sea, but behind buildings... Wifi did not work well.

Review 15:Roscoff is beautiful. The hotel accepted the shortening of our stay. Some of the staff were nice and helpful. Others less so.

Review 16:We arrived a little earlier than the check in time and were told our room would be ready in 10 mins. Even though we were waiting in the reception the receptionist didn't inform us our room was ready. We waited for around 40 mins before going back to ask only to be told it was ready but I think it had been ready for a while. Getting to the pool was a bit of an effort, having to walk through in robe and then having to buy swim caps. This information and swim caps could have been in the room.

Review 17:We had the junior suite and it was lovely. The hotel was a perfect stop before catching the ferry home.

Review 18:Room information not available in English. Our balcony and sea view was a ground floor patio with a lovely view but seagulls were a persistent nuisance when sitting out .

Review 19:Spa facilities and pool on site

Review 20:We have stayed before and the Facilities, Spa and the staff all very good. We also like the location being just outside the centre with a beach just a few yards away.

Review 21:This hotel is in the ferry port town of roscoff. Having arrived on an evening ferry we were told by the receptionist that we couldn't get any food or drink as everything had closed. This was at ten pm on a Wednesday. We were also told that there was nowhere nearby where we could get anything. This was odd, as within sight of reception was a small bistro that was open and sold us a couple of drinks to go. The room itself was fine, but there were no curtains apart from thin blind which meant we woke with dawns light. I couldn't easily get the wifi to work and I'm quite technical. (iPhone 5. My wife's Samsung went on with no trouble apparently). When I mentioned this on check out there was no real apology or offer of any courtesy gesture of recompense.

Review 22:The spa facilities were good

Review 23:Very limited interaction with staff as no one spoke English and although the staff in the Spa were very pleasant tringbto book a massage was near impossible.

Review 24:Loved the location next to beach and a walk away from town with great restaurants.

Review 25:The attitude of the staff was lacking any real care . Our room was dug into the ground and so had no view and was a semi basement. The decor lack any style and was poorly lit. We could not get a drink at the bar- we paid a high price for no service.

Review 26:I had a swim

Review 27:Although the hotel appeared to have several british holiday makers, there was no information with regard to amenities etc in English, the staff did speak English but didn't seem over bothered about helping with where the amenities were or how to go about booking them!!! The room was dirty, especially the bathroom, and very tired looking, could of done with an overhaul...I feel we were given a 'cheap' room...but not at a cheap price I feel that we paid for a hotel with amenities, that we were unable to tap into.

Review 28:Location was good

Review 29:It is not a good idea, that laundry trolleys must be transported with some noise in the middle of the night near the terrace of the room. Bath room was very small. The "bar" was opened until 10 p.m., but is not a place you would like to relax. Booking signs 4 stars, at the entrance of the hotel are shown 3.

Review 30:Good breakfast. Nice place at the coast. Swimming pool in- and outdoors with salt water is fine.

Review 31:very good water features in the piscine...also excellent view of the coastline from the extensive windows around the pool......excellent location near the center of town and near the train station

Review 32:Det var inte speciellt barnvänligt då de hade 16-års gräns på många pooler och bastun. Mest betydligt äldre människor. Glöm ej badmössa!

Review 33:Mycket vänlig och engelsktalande personal.

Review 34:Polite staff but no warmth. Lack of detail when replenishing the room( liquid soap in shower empty, tissues 2 left in the box etc.. Both on separate occasions.) Balcony view is backyard of hotel then the sea. Table & chairs on balcony old ( not inviting).

Review 35:The jacuzzi, pool, steam room & sauna with easy access. Salt water pool. Balcony door/ window opening to let fresh air in , in security. Easy going hotel.

Review 36:The hotel staff were very helpful and the room was good

Review 37:The best rooms of the hotel overlook a basket ball pitch. The local are bouncing balls noisily until 11.30 at night

Review 38:The outside of the hotel was a little disapointing and parking was further away from the hotel than we thought it might be. We had a lovely sea view balcony room, but I do not think that I would have liked a room overlooking the more public areas.

Review 39:The room and the facilities were extremely good and the staff courteous and efficient. The beach was lovely and a creperie/bar next door to the hotel was a pleasant surprise, even offering an organic section to the gallette / crepe menu! On Friday the only meal being served in the restaurant was a sea food buffet which was absolutely amazing, but if you don't like sea food you could be caught out!

Review 40:Heated salt water swimming pools, outdoor spa with 5* views. Delicious food in restaurant also with 5* views. Huge comfy bed, friendly helpfull mostly English speaking staff.

Review 41:Pictures on bookings.com much better than reality.

Review 42:This is a typical 80-ties hotel where elderly people spend a day or two. SPA is okay but kids under 16 can only be in one pool. That feels very odd given you take responsibility kids behave good. Which our did in the jacuzzi but we where hunted away by a guard. The Ile the Batz visit was nice.

Review 43:I was expecting a well run swimming pool and sauna, etc. but the place was chaotic with men and women in the same change areas with broken lockers and slippery floors.

Review 44:Loved to watch the tide roll in and cover the tidal swimming pools and the picturesque rocks. The restaurant was very good with a fabulous selection of fine French wines.

Review 45:Staff unhelpful sent me round the hotel twice trying to get milk for the coffee in the room, and dismissed my queries.

Review 46:Roscoff very lovely town, hotel was nice, clean but compared with others on the trip wasn't worth the price and could do with an update. The spa etc was very good, didn't eat there so cant comment on food.

Review 47:You needed swimming hats and speedoes to use the pool It had a horrible smell around the dining area Breakfast was expensive per head

Review 48:beach side location was fantastic

Review 49:More of a therapy spa than hotel so there are lots of people shuffling around in dressing gowns. Target market is adults so I was cautious that my 7 and 9 year olds were too loud etc and would spoil the therapy effect for others

Review 50:Staff are friendly - really close to the old town

Review 51:I used the indoor pool once. The floor was dangerously slippery, the locker area (boys and girls together!) was chaotic with broken locks. The staff was overworked because of shortage, the pool was crowded (this was in early May).

Review 52:The hotel is located next to a lovely beach.

Review 53:- Hotel itself is pretty old and dull - Swimming pools, sauna need urgent refurbishment - People don't use towels in the sauna and just enter with swimming suits on...not very hygienic (hotel staff should be instructing about proper etiquette)

Review 54:- Great seafood buffet - Nice breakfast - Personnel - Location

Review 55:Hotel description on booking indicated the following facilities, minibar, bathrobes and a bath none of theses were available in our room.

Review 56:Cleanliness, helpful staff, comfortable bed, sea view, also helpful being able to delay booking out until noon.

Review 57:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 58:Great facilities available in the Spa which came free with the booking. The food was plentiful and first class. The staff were very helpful and courteous. There were 4 of us (male adults) in one room and we were very comfortable. It came with a TV and there was also a coffee machine in the room plus a kettle and tea making facilities.Great location as we wanted somewhere close the ferry as we were only staying 3 days for a Stag Do.

Review 59:- the Spa was overcrowded, people were STANDING in the sauna and the hammam. outdoor jacuzzi was by far not warm enough. inside jacuzzi was completely packed. The hotel's explanation was that this is normal because sometimes they open the doors to the public. No compensation. - quite expensive for the lack of a real spa experience

Review 60:nice location, same as many hotels in Roscoff

Review 61:My request for sea view bedroom wasn't taken in consideration but because few were available at this time of year. I did manage to get one with sea view but I had to pay an extra of £90. It had be very nice if someone contact me before to sort out.

Review 62:The SPA is excellent

Review 63:The room was too hot. We were not told until after our booking had been accepted that the spa facilities were closed for a week and our booking was not able to be cancelled.

Review 64:Car parking was difficult to find. It took us three trips around the area to find the parking. Signage could be better. Poor selection of food in the restaurant. Not everyone enjoys fish so you still need a variation.

Review 65:Liked its proximity to roscoff ,also the swimming pools etc

Review 66:requested balcony. It faced north so we never got sun. Green mould on balcony and very dirty. requested cleaning but never happened. Hotel only really interested in the spa section and told that we would get a reduction had we spent money in spa!! Also no lounge area to read etc., unless sitting in cocktail lounge. Had tea, coffee making facilities in room but no milk. Told to get it from bar or restaurant, yet spotted that other rooms ( more of a upgrade!!!) were given it. A bit penny pinching.

Review 67:Position of hotel and proximity to other cafes and restaurants.

Review 68:No complaints

Review 69:A good spacious family suite with balcony over looking the sea. Beach was directly in front of the hotel The staff were very helpful on everything we requested.

Review 70:It's not for families. It's a spa for adults. You will not be welcome in the pool with kids. Which is also very salty. The hotel should give up pretending to also be a family hotel. It is not. The other patients/guests at the hotel/spa/ therapy centre hated having kids around. It was toe curling -very uncomfortable. Staff also not helpful.

Review 71:We couldnt find the parking even though we got directions from the reception. Drove around for a bit then eventually found a parking spot on the road. Water gets all over the floor from the shower. We went to breakfast late - there wasnt much left and we felt a little bit rushed out.

Review 72:The hotel has a really nice pool with good view of sea. The location for the town and the port is great. Staff were friendly.

Review 73:No information about facilities in room and we took a kettle only to find one in room. Whilst I normally pack shampoo/conditioner decided not to this time only to find lovely body/hair wash but no conditioner and couldn't find a shop in town that sold conditioner. Had to ask for tea/coffee/milk to be replenished in room. Drinks are expensive everywhere but we don't normally go out to pubs anyway and have been spoilt by all inclusive holidays.

Review 74:We went over as foot passesngers on the ferry it was easy, an early start but then back to our cabin to chill. Taxi outside terminal took us straight to the hotel, which was just over 10 minutes by car. On arrival the room was ready for us. Best of all great check out time 1pm, had lunch before leaving at 3.15pm for the return ferry. If you have a back condition the spa is amazing, my neck and shoulders were very stiff and after a few days of using the free facilities it was much better. Staff were friendly and helpful and appreciated us speaking French to them albeit badly at times! It was quiet there and therefore we caught up on some sleep. It was only 15-20 minutes walk into town all on the flat and past some beautiful architecture and scenery. Market on a Wednesday was great shame couldn't bring home crab and lobster ! We went to Ile de Batz, a must and the Exotic Gardens. There is a lot to do and see within a short radius but you don't need a car. We took a taxi to the gardens which cost about 12 euros return. After a day out we returned for a swim/spa. Bath robe and towels plus a goody bag provided by hotel for the spa. (need to wear a swimming hat in the pool - we all looked silly together !) In the reception area was a book which had information about Roscoff, places to visit, things to do/see which was very helpful.

Review 75:'Suite' was one room with a made-up sofa bed, chairs, cups etc for 2, not 3 adults. Restaurant fully booked on arrival No on site parking No towelling robes as promised Table on balcony very tatty

Review 76:Location Pool

Review 77:Breakfast room looked a bit shabby, junior suite (for four people) consisted of a double bed and a wobbly sofa bed

Review 78:Location, Breakfast, Coffee machine in room

Review 79:Officious staff who treated my children like criminals- especially in the Spa/ pools Petty additional rules and costs to use the Pools. These should have been made clear at the time of booking. Uncomfortable beds Tiny bathroom that you could hardly get to the toilet in, without some physical contortions. A generally unwelcoming attitude all round. (Except the late night receptionist who was very helpful)

Review 80:Room was ready early - 2pm I was able to check out the night before departure, saving me a lot of hassle in the morning Parking was nearby and easily accessed

Review 81:A little confusing on arrival - what facilities were available and where but thius is a minor. Also it would be good to highlight the need for speedos (for men) and bath caps for all, for the pool.

Review 82:Excellent facilities and location

Review 83:No access to the pool after 7.45pm, so after a long drive we couldn't relax as planned. No info on pool closures when we booked. Why, oh why would you close the pool so early, especially in the summer! The metal blinds work well to keep out light, but also keep out air too, even with the vents open.

Review 84:A comfy room, with plenty of space for the four of us. Separate bathroom and toilet, which is essential with younger kids.

Review 85:Before the trip Booking.com called the Hotel to give me a quote on a taxi from Roscoff to Charles de Gaulle. They quoted me 83 euros. Once I got there the hotel told me that was the cost for the taxi to the local airport and the cost to Charles de Gualle was 1000 euros! This was a very expensive and I'm not happy with booking.com in giving me the wrong quote.

Review 86:The view and the Sea Water. The therapists in the spa are very good.

Review 87:Took a while to work out the right way to use everything, but we got there. Car had to be 150m away.

Review 88:Amazing place, and outlook, and therapy/pools area, and breakfast. Loved the pools and sauna, jacuzzi was a bit cool (about 37C, I keep mine at 40.5C). One night only wish I could stay longer. Very friendly too.

Review 89:- rusty bikes for residents (even for free) - hours for breakfast from 7h to 9h30, should be until 10h30 minimum for people on holidays, however back up solution with room service at no extra costs - hours for swimming pool, from 9h00 to 19h45 , not compatible with breakfasts, in the evening swimming pool early closure due to aquagym activities

Review 90:- very good breakfast - comfortable bar (1st flor) with good drinks and nice view, also friendly staff - localisation - the seafood buffet on Friday evening - open 24h - free parking - thalasso spa

Review 91:It would have been nice if the reception staff had been a limitless warmer and someone had taken the time to explain the hotel layout, facilities ect to us.I felt as if I was bothering them when asking a question.

Review 92:The location was great and the spa facilities lovely. The pools were amazing and you need a Lot of time to make use of them. Also allowed our dog in the room which was a huge bonus ,overall very good.

Review 93:Our room lacked air conditioning which meant that it was rather stifling at night.

Review 94:Room was delightful with a large comfortable bed and an impressive range of facilities. Roscoff within easy walking distance, and a the beach barely a minute from the hotel door. Secure parking a bonus, staff friendly and helpful.

Review 95:We had a 'family' room for 4 but the main double bed was a small sofa bed extended out. Would have hoped for a proper double bed and two separate single beds or a bunk bed for the children aged 6 and 9 yrs. Parking was some distance from the hotel too in a car park behind some apartments, wasn't comfortable with it at all.

Review 96:We had a front facing room which had beautiful views of the beach and sea.

Review 97:Sadly, next to a basketball court where local French youths like to congregate until the small hours, laughing, joking and playing loud music. Such a shame as hotel otherwise is very good.

Review 98:Location, facilities.

Review 99:a bit skimpy on the 'welcome products' in the room....no hand crème, or shampoo...but not enough of a factor to complain about...the water features made the whole stay enjoyable..ek

Review 100:we especially enjoyed the water features in the salt water pools...excellent water pressure in the splashes!....the views from the hotel restaurants are excellent....nice staff in the spa area.....thank you, we shall return next year.....edith kunz

Review 101:Towels were thin and rough with age, and shower did not work properly. Tea and coffee were provided, but no milk. It would have been nice to tell us when we checked in that the restaurant was fully booked that evening, rather than finding out later. All in all it was a disappointing experience.

Review 102:Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful, and the room was okay, if tacky rather than stylish. One member of staff offered me an upgrade to a sea-view room for E40 per day extra, whilst sitting underneath a notice quoting a supplement of E30 per day for a sea view!

Review 103:I loved the SPA and the Restaurant Wonderful location

Review 104:The friendliness of the staff.

Review 105:Nothing

Review 106:Position of the hotel and dog friendly

Review 107:There was a problem with the outside jaccuzi . which was disappointing.

Review 108:The spa

Review 109:Staff disinterested and I help

Review 110:Advertised a refrigerator but it was a cool box with no means of chilling it.

Review 111:Great room with a view. Huge bed.

Review 112:drive to the car park

Review 113:possition

Review 114:No water in room on second night no milk with breakfast order

Review 115:Location of hotel / beach Facilities provided for baby thank you

Review 116:hotel not that easy to find.

Review 117:great location, good clean hotel, very close to roscoff ferry port, would definitely stay again.

Review 118:good location, staff were helpful and room sizes were decent.

Review 119:Position

Review 120:Remote parking

Review 121:Good hotel in a good location

Review 122:Fantastic Jacuzzi overlooking the sea, could have stayed in all day. Spa facilities help make it a special stay. Friendly staff.

Review 123:asked for room with sea view did not get it and staff rather abrupt upon check in

Review 124:bed very comfortable facilities ie pool etc

Review 125:Location, cost, facilities, room, spa

Review 126:Great location. Lovely treatments and a great spot to relax on your birthday.

Review 127:While the breakfast was OK, we did have one dinner that was very poor and we didn't eat in again. The car park was also about 200 yards away.

Review 128:Machinery noise kept us awake at night.

Review 129:Room great, staff very friendly, spa great.Right on the beach.

Review 130:Often noisy early ams and late evenings.

Review 131:Breakfasts

Review 132:All was great

Review 133:Everything

Review 134:the pool sauna etc the staff were good room was nice all was good
