Reviews for Auberge Les Gorges du Loup

Review 1:It would be more fair to say that the hotel is closer to Pont du Loup rather than Tourrettes sur Loup.

Review 2:The place is full of old charm: pictures on the wall and the decorations tell a quiet story about the current owners and the hotel grounds whisper of an older story, about decades past. Fabulously service minded the staff at the hotel cook a tasty dinner and make supper a very cosy affair. All in all it is an intimate place, far from the sterile workings of a modern faceless chain of hotels. If that is something you are after, which I feel is a must on the French countryside, Auberge Les Gorges du Loup is the right place to stay and discover stories and the surrounding countryside.

Review 3:Great hospitality, lovely relaxing atmosphere, very helpful and friendly owners. Pleasantly surprised restaurant. The food was delicious and very good value for money with a choice of several set menus. They also have a good selection of wines.

Review 4:Nothing

Review 5:The location - don't miss a visit to the sweet factory in the village! The view of the trees out of our window was wonderful. This was the nicest hotel of the four we stayed in during our ten days touring Provence. The restaurant food was great too.

Review 6:Breakfast was really "basic" but costly

Review 7:Staff was very very friendly! We was 4 hours late for check-in but they waited for us. It was Sunday and we had problem with petrol (they actually are closing some petrol stations on Sundays!) so they helped us.

Review 8:Would benefit from air conditioning. Was hot when we were there in October, so can't imagine sleeping would be easy in mid summer!

Review 9:Friendly greeting by owner, despite arriving late on Sunday night when they were closed. The room was comfy & bathroom appeared to have been modernised with good shower facilities. Thankful for the roller blind, as there was a thunder storm, and it blocked out a lot of the noise & the Lightning early in the morning.

Review 10:A family owned hotel where everybody is extremely nice and warm. Excellent food. Very romantic place, with wonderful fireplace in the restaurant room. Strategically located few Km from Gourdon and St. Paul de Vence.

Review 11:Staff were very helpful and friendly. Even before we arrived, they made us feel like guests of honour, despite it being the busiest weekend of the summer holidays.

Review 12:the traffic noise - our room could have done with some soundproofing

Review 13:the evening meals

Review 14:Room and bathroom, restaurant

Review 15:More information would be useful on alternative restaurants when hotel restaurant is closed.

Review 16:Good location , comfortable and secure parking

Review 17:Room had a strong "cleaning liquid" smell when walking in. Unstable and slow WIFI.

Review 18:Excellent location, good restaurant

Review 19:Lack of air conditioning because it was so warm the fan was a bit light

Review 20:Traffic noise, lack of air-conditioning

Review 21:Excellent food, stunning location in gorge, comfortable room.

Review 22:Didn't notice the air-con so could get hot in the summer.

Review 23:Parking was easy as right outside the hotel. We managed to arrive late and was fine.

Review 24:gps no find location hot room no air condation, room window face directly another room window

Review 25:friendly staff beautiful location

Review 26:Nothing not to like.

Review 27:Wonderful service, lovely meal, comfortable, clean room.

Review 30:Atmosphere

Review 31:Friendly and supportive personnel. Clean location and everithing was very nice organized.

Review 32:The bedroom was quite small and could do with a refresh but was okay for our needs

Review 33:The staff, in particular the son of the owner. Nothing too much trouble and extremely friendly.

Review 34:Hot water was not available on arrival - after all day hike ! Eventually fixed.

Review 35:Charming proprietors provided good evening meal to this single hiker although restaurant closed on Sunday day of arrival. Attractive sunny dining terrace and garden. Well located for those hiking the dramatic Gorges du Loup ; and also reasonable and close bus connections to Grasse, and picturesque villages of Gourdon , Tourettes sur Loup and Vence. All round good value

Review 36:Moderate but persistent noise (from hydro-electric power station almost opposite?), preventing sleep (but I am a light sleeper). Shower head opposite open space into bathroom - it should be near the foot of the bath,(or shower curtain added), to avoid flooding the bathroom! Breakfast croissants dried up.

Review 37:Friendly, efficient, very professional staff. Simple but very good dinner.

Review 38:It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The cleaning staff sometimes forgot to replace the towels they had removed for washing and the fact that the doors to the rooms were propped open while the cleaning staff went to lunch, which could be hours. So guests property was exposed to any opportunist thief who could access the rooms from the terrace when coach loads of tourists came to the hotel for lunch stopovers on tours.

Review 39:The setting was perfect with wondrous views. The staff were very helpful. The building was beautiful old French, with terraces in style with the building.

Review 40:French breakfasts is a joke as always. Sweet and greasy pastries, apiece of baguette, and jam. No real bread, yoghurt, fruits, müsli etc.Bring your own if you are going for a long walk or bike ride. You canget a lot better breakfast for 9€...

Review 41:Newly renovated room and bathroom. Friendly and helpful English speakingstaff. Pleasant outdoor dining area in the shade under the trees.

Review 42:Passage in Corridor was dark and old.

Review 43:Staff was polite and nice. The food at restaurants was fantastic good. The view was great. The room was modern.

Review 44:Do not stay in the rooms facing the street, there is a lot of noice from traffic.

Review 45:Great owners really nice place

Review 46:Nice English spoken staff and safe parking for motorbikes. Delicious dinner...

Review 53:Deco and furnitures in the room was a bit out of date

Review 54:Very nice place, comfortable.

Review 55:Decor a bit gloomy ..could do with de-cluttering and brightening up.
