Reviews for Lands of Loyal hotel

Review 1:What can I say? One of the most beautiful places we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The whole experience was amazing and we cannot wait to return!

Review 2:The weather !!! Never experienced the widespread of mist conditions. Couldn't see much of countryside so guess we have to pay another visit !!!!

Review 3:Huge warm open fire. Dining room young waiter charming. Excellent food and presentation

Review 4:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be any trouble. Many thanks to the chefs who served fabulous food..the pear sorbet is a must if you visit! The WiFi was superb.

Review 5:No bad experiences

Review 6:Re-visiting what my older siblings told me was the site of family Christmas celebrations in the late 40's / early '50's. Well located to allow for visits to many important Scottish sites - beautiful gardens, views, and a nice nearby village.

Review 7:Wasn't overly impressed with the convoluted access through the town (though it was well signposted) and it suffered from a lack of post-prandial walks.

Review 8:The ambience of the main hall, alone, is one to die for and matches the magnificence of the surrounding countryside. The menus were deliciously cooked and beautifully presented. The furniture in our bedroom was simply grand (including 4-poster bed) but the size of the room unfortunately did not allow the lovely furniture to be displayed to its advantage

Review 9:Fabulous food, great staff, great welcome, nice and relaxing, cosy and comforting and nothing was a bother to the staff they were very efficient and friendly

Review 10:The care and attention paid by the owner to all aspects of running the hotel; particularly her determination to create a 'home' aspect for her guests.

Review 11:Very bad potholes fronting driveway. Staff appeared stretched at times

Review 12:House was full of character and charm. Family run staff were very friendly and helpful. Delightful kitchen garden.

Review 13:There's nothing bad here at all. The only very minor complaint is that breakfast was a little slow the coffee was disappointing. But these are very minor things in beautiful, comfortable hotel.

Review 14:Loved it. This is a beautiful hotel to enter, with a beautifully decorated main hall, staircase and open fire (although modernists and minimalists may find it too busy!). Our superior double room had a very elegant four-poster bed and was very comfortable. We also got a very strong Wi-Fi signal (but not every room does). We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the very elegant restaurant. A beautiful little gem of a hotel and we would love to come back!

Review 15:Metal dining chairs in one area

Review 16:Main lounge is sumptious and very spacious, dining areas are well laid out. Very friendly & helpful staff. Enjoyed the food & wine

Review 17:We did notice that under the beds had not been cleaned spider webs and dust this is the only fault we saw because we dropped something under the beds

Review 18:It is such a beautiful hotel and so dog friendly

Review 19:Bedroom was rather small but Ok, the local council should get the approach road repaired

Review 20:The setting was great, the food was great and the staff were very helpful etc.

Review 21:Surroundings, food and great service. It was also great value for money. The huge log fire -unfortunately still welcome in June - due to inclement weather- was a wonderful warm focal point.

Review 22:Nothing of any real significance although our choice of meal at dinner was very good albeit a bit too much food!

Review 23:Superb location, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, a very welcoming hotel with a very impressive lounge

Review 24:The staff quietly & competently look after your needs and are attentive without being intrusive. They obviously take pride in their work and tidy, stoke fires & plump up cushions whilst you relax in a very comfortable atmosphere. All results in a very pleasant stay.

Review 25:I couldn't get the wifi to work. Minor niggle.

Review 26:Fantastic main lounge with large roaring fireplace. Welcoming friendly staff. Superb restaurant and well equipped rooms. We stayed there for a bit of après ski. Fits the bill perfectly. Thoroughly recommend.

Review 27:Almost afraid to leave review as I would like this to remain an undiscovered gem that I can book any time I want to! But it seems only fair to review it as we found it. There's something quite magical about this place and it is by far my favourite hotel in Scotland.

Review 28:leaving to come back home

Review 29:Great facilities, fantastic food, and some of the best customer friendly, attentive and welcoming people. Nothing was too much trouble, a truly fantastic place. I would thoroughly recommend a visit

Review 30:The only thing we don't like about it is not being able to live there permanently.

Review 31:Getting away from it all. The public lounge is something special. Spacious comfortable bedroom. Friendly attentive staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Brilliant food, and plenty of it.

Review 32:Not a thing.

Review 33:Baronial splendor. Beautiful grounds. Period decorations. Roaring wood fire in the main lounge. Afternoon tea. Excellent menu in the dining room. Within walking distance of the village. Popular with hunters and wedding parties. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

Review 34:We had no dislikes

Review 35:Owners and staff were just lovely. We were very well looked after and the food was just amazing. We would highly recommend and will return.

Review 36:Poor WiFi and far too hot in the main living room. No need for fire to be lit when it's sufficiently warm already.

Review 37:Loved the hotel and the food was amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to find hotel and very spacious rooms/suits.

Review 38:Staff were superb. Everyone we came into contact with could not have been more friendly or helpful. They are all clearly committed to the hotel and to ensuring the customer experience is as enjoyable as it can possibly be. They work as a team. Truly a special place and experience. Attention to detail was phenomenal. Strongly recommend it and intend to return.

Review 39:We felt like VIPs. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The location allowed us to visit much of Perthshire, Angus and up into the highlands. Definitely return to be pampered again.

Review 40:The Manager/ Owner very unwelcoming Not easy to talk to, dose not listen to what you are saying. Room very dusty could have been better hovered, Food far to expensive for size of portions, Lounge chairs all worn not comfortable

Review 41:The View from the hotel & the fire place, Beautiful Building inside & out,

Review 42:My husband walked into a cobweb hanging from the ceiling - please be asured we know spiders can spin a web very quickly. However, on the far side of the room on the ceiling I noticed quite a few cobwebs. I did not like to say while we were staying as we are not the type of people who expect to get something of the bill - that is not our intention. Only to make sure the Lands of Loyal hotel keeps standards to a maximum and to ensure no anti spider guests start screaming in the night. Kind regards - Jacci

Review 98:relaxing and enchanting. stunning log fireplace commands your presence. staff were very approachable and really couldn't do enough. time just slipped away. each room individually styled. we loved it and will be back.

Review 99:After telling the staff we were going our for the evening, we arrived back at 10.30pm to find the front door locked and no doorbell. After we banged and shouted for some time, a member of the kitchen staff appeared and said the staff had assumed everyone was in and locked up for the night! He led us round the back of the hotel and through the kitchen area into the hall of the hotel. The information in the hotel room said "If you intend to return to the hotel after midnight please inform reception so that we can make arrangements to have someone waiting for you." And we returned at 10.30 - I dread to think what might have been our fate if we had returned at 11.30! Also the lighting in the bedroom was too dim to read in a chair.

Review 100:Staff friendly and eager to please. Lovely garden. Comfortable and quiet bedroom. Best fruit salad ever at breakfast.

Review 101:Nothing that I don't like. Sometimes look for hotels with spa facilities which means that you would sometimes use an alternative type of hotel

Review 102:Been before. Enjoy the fact that the hotel is full of character. Staff attentive and friendly. Good value for money. Food very good. Certainly be back

Review 103:Nothing.

Review 104:Everything. Absolutely fantastic. The rooms are furnished to a very high standard. Full of old world charm, ie four poster bed, fantastic lights, décor, however extremely clean and well maintained. The grand hall you cannot describe, it is just like walking into a very grand hall with a massive staircase in front of you abit like Sound of music and when the children sing on the staircase at the end of the dance. Fantastic, with a lovely fire going all day. Brilliant, not enough words to describe how awesome it is. Food excellent and well thought and tasty. The breakfast is not a buffet which makes it even more special, the fruit is out of this world.

Review 105:Nothing at all.

Review 106:Everything about this hotel, especially the personal attention of staff and owners- no matter how busy. The rooms were perfect and the meals of the highest quality. Very highly recommended,

Review 107:Lovely interior, disability friendly room excellent for the elderly members of our group, great restaurant, beautiful scenery. Overall a fantastic hotel
