Reviews for Fernbank House

Review 1:On behalf of my parents-in-law: They had a wonderful stay. Mrs McDonald made them very comfortable; lovely room; superb breakfast and a friendly conversation too! Will definitely stay again :)

Review 2:Very noisy, people still creeping in at 2.20am, could hear the occupants in next room using the toilet/extractor fan going most of the night. Not double glazed so very noisy traffic wise and heating on for an hour or so in morning and again at night - very cold at night.

Review 3:Annette very nice and friendly, breakfast very good

Review 4:lovely house but the toilet handle fell off and considering the outside temperature dropped to 3 degrees the heating was not on during the night , so it was very cold and the quilt was to small to keep us warm. The condensation on inside of the window was unbelievable

Review 5:We knew we had hit lucky when we discovered the landlady's husband is a champion butcher! Sausages and black pudding made breakfast a feast. Annette was a very friendly and attentive hostess.

Review 6:The guest house is in an excellent position in the town. Mrs MacDonald was welcoming and helpful and cooked a fantastic breakfast. The room was very nice and well looked after.

Review 7:Nothing really.

Review 8:Annette made us feel very welcome and attended to any request we had. We were given the space we needed to be relaxed as though we were in a more familiar hotel-style accommodation while still having a homely feel - this was only our second-ever stay in a B&B. Seeing our first snowfall at breakfast was special. Thank you!

Review 9:The bedroom was a tad cool at night but, in fairness, it was January, snowing and freezing outside!

Review 10:Clean, well-appointed facilities. Super welcome without being overbearing. Everything very efficient, quiet, clean and comfortable. Booked at short notice and will certainly stay at Fernbank again.

Review 11:WiFi wasn't fantastic, but that is general a bit of an issue in the area!

Review 12:What a treat all round! Was welcomed a bit earlier than the usual check-in time as I had arrived by bus from London and from there on had a great time. Lovely cosy, caring and fresh (new bathroom etc.) environment. THANKS A LOT!

Review 13:Room quite cold on return in late evening. Breakfast room could have been warmer too. Appreciate it's impossible to get temperature right for everyone. If had been in more and staying longer would have asked for more heat in room.

Review 14:Friendly family. Décor, soft furnishings and pictures etc beautiful. Very tasty breakfast with meat products coming from landlady's husband's own butchers shop! Easy walking distance of town for shops, restaurants and pubs.

Review 15:Everything. The owners were kind and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed comfy! Breakfast was a treat; try the porridge, it's delicious!

Review 16:There is only 1 taxi in the whole village and we had 2 people in our company who could not walk far, therefore would recommend when you book your stay that you mention in advance you need to book a taxi so that the staff can book this in advance of your stay to ensure you get your booking.

Review 17:Staff were very friendly and went the extrra mile for you. Breakfast was exceptional in the morning and the location was lovely, everything was in walking distance which was ideal.

Review 18:The first impression you get of the place is that it is on the main through road, but, this is a Scottish village main road, and the house is set back from the road with good parking. So our room at the back was quiet, even with the window open. Breakfast was excellent, and you can tell that they care about what they do. The place had a feeling of being cared for, I would even say loved. Parking is available off road, although, to be honest, had I needed to park on the road, it wasn't an issue there. It's only a few minutes into the centre, and the location is a good central base to go out from.30 minutes from Pitlochry, without the mass of tourist traffic. I'd go back, happily.

Review 19:There is nothing not to like! Fernbank is a lovely comfortable house, with friendly and welcoming owners, so a real home from home. However, they clearly have very high standards and a polished, professional approach to their business. The breakfasts are oustanding.

Review 20:We had a double room which was rather small and there was no full length mirror. We arrived about 15mins before the four o'clock check in time and there was no one to even let us in to sit down.

Review 21:An average bed and breakfast. The room had a pleasant view of the garden and the bathroom was large with a great shower.

Review 22:Everything: comfort, spotless room, excellent breakfast, close to shops, the owner is a very busy lady but nothing is to much of a bother for her will be back again in the future.

Review 23:late check in of room would have been better being 2pm rather than 4pm checkin apart from this nothing else was wrong

Review 56:Had a lovely welcome. Comfortable ensuite room and guest lounge. Breakfast really great with lots of choice. You won't be disappointed if you choose Fernbank!

Review 57:The WiFi did not work either in the room or the public area, the shower took forever to heat up and then was quickly far too far, the radiator in our room did not work. The staff were clearly not pleased that we arrived late on the Friday night, despite the fact that I had phoned and pre-warned them of our late arrival. The fire alarm went off which we think was caused by our shower, the staff were clearly not happy about this. There was no sign up however telling you to ensure to keep the door closed, which I had accidentally left open just a little bit.

Review 58:We liked the location of the accommodation, it was very central in Aberfeldy and easy to get to everything in the town. The rooms were plainly decorated, the breakfast choice was good and nicely cooked.

Review 59:Sorry but the only thing i can gripe about is the toilet was not clean.
