Reviews for Alyth Hotel
Review 1:Lovely welcome, and very comfy bed We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and although there was no breakfast due to the recent floods affecting the ground floor this should not distract from the hotel.
Review 2:Despite the hotel being in utter devastation after the flood the owner couldn't have been more helpful in trying to find us alternative accommodation onSaturday night
Review 3:The wifi connection was weak/poor.
Review 4:The staff were always friendly and happy to help with any request for assistance. They were happy to converse and show an interest in our trip. The dietary requests were no problem.
Review 5:We stayed here for 2 nights with 3 rooms for our party , the staff could not have been more helpful , arranged taxis and rearranged the dining room to accommodate us dining as a v large party , decor a bit tired in places but should not detract from staying here
Review 6:The bedroom was very tired with the wallpaper peeling off in a number of areas. The curtain on the corner window was not sufficiently wide enough to shut out the daylight leaving a 100 mm gap either side. This meant that light streamed in through the gaps at 4am. Despite asking if anything could be done with this curtain the following morning nothing was actually done. The very noisy extractor fan in the bathroom ran for over 1/2 hour when you switched on the light making it impossible to put the light on without waking anyone sleeping. As a result of these problems we checked out on the second day and found alternative accommodation, but we're still asked to pay for two nights.
Review 7:The decor was a bit dated but that didn't affect our stay in any way.
Review 8:We stayed in Alyth for a wedding at the Lands of Loyal Hotel and it was the perfect location, only a five-ten minute walk away. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was nice and the bed was really comfy.
Review 9:Walls between room 3 and 4 just a little too thin for comfort but overall no complaints, it was warm and comfortable
Review 10:Pleasant staff, clean room, large portions regading Braakfast and dinner and good value bar.
Review 11:Rooms could do with an upgrade, we were told there was an alarm clock in the room but it was broken as was our travelling companions in another bedroom.
Review 12:Very good food, friendly bar, very nice staff, very interesting town. we would come back to the hotel and town. Hidden historic things in the town.
Review 13:The room was small and as it was a Saturday evening quite a lot of noise from revellers
Review 14:Best thing about this hotel is the great food and the manager was very helpful.
Review 15:cleanliness,needs dusting, towels not changed coming in at night for a shower with wet towels .no view, looking across into into someone else's window six feet away . pretty poor for £80.00 a night for a twin room.
Review 16:Breakfast
Review 17:They welcomed us and accepted our dog.We were allowed to to take our dog into the ajoining pub which was very friendly. Our room was at the front over the pub so it was a little noisey at closing time but ok.breakfast was plentyfull and very enjoyable.
Review 18:only down was their was no proper parking only on the street or in a carpark across the burn
Review 19:staff very very friendly, food was lovely, room spotless would stay here again
Review 20:The only bad thing was the smell in the bar coming from people smoking weed at the front door of the hotel.
Review 21:Recomend walking the den of Alyth from the hotel.
Review 22:We were in room 7 and could hear the noise from the bar on Friday & Saturday but it stopped sharp at 00:30 so no problem as we do not go to bed early.
Review 23:Staff were very friendly, breakfasts really good and cooked food served really hot. When we needed to check out 1 day early due to an emergency at home there was no fuss and we were not charged for the early checkout. They were very flexible and always willing to help.
Review 24:hotel room was tired and in need of some refurbishment
Review 25:central to various golf courses in the area.food in the evening was very good although service very slow.manager was very helpful and attentive to any requirements.

Review 60:Having to return to our home in Newcastle .
Review 61:Attentive , friendly , helpful manager and staff . Food cooked and presented to a very high standard . Ideal location for exploring Perth , Dundee area and the Grampians , Pitlochry etc. Hotel has lots of information on places to visit . Own transport is helpful but local bus service is very good and 50 yards from Hotel . I would recommend this Hotel to my friends
Review 62:Dog friendly hotel!!! far from it. Dogs not allowed in hotel bar/lounge/restaurant or left alone in the room. Told needed to put dogs in car to eat (even breakfast) and if we wanted to sit in the bar for a drink. Was allowed in public bar (had to go outside to get to this) would definately not want to eat in there. Rated comfort as poor due to this. Ended up sat on hard bench seat getting in the way of young lads wanting to play pool.
Review 63:Large room with comfy bed. Food as good and staff friendly.
Review 64:Nothing
Review 65:We really enjoyed our stay here we had a fantastic meal in the lounge, beautifully cooked, lovely fresh vegetables and piping hot. The owner and the staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. The rooms are old fashioned but comfortable and clean. We will definitely return, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Review 66:The shower wasn't any good but a small price to pay for such a lovely hotel
Review 67:Food is honest pub grub done really well Staff couldn't be more polite and helpful Dogs stay for free! Located in the heart of alyth
Review 68:Personnel upon arriving was not very friendly. Our room was located at the end of a dark corridor (light did not seem to work). Too expensive for a hotel that seems to be in need of some renovation.
Review 69:Good location, breakfast OK.
Review 70:Friendly staff very atentitive, had supper at hotel what was very good and hot Our room faced the front of the hotel but heard no noise at all Had a good breakfast all cooked to order Will be back to the hotel as central for lots of golf courses.
Review 71:The room had not been cleaned properly and the carpet had not been hoovered. The female bar person was covering 2 bars so had to bellow to attract her attention or go looking for her. The hotel was dated and the room noisy and did not deserve the asking price of £160 for two nights b&b.
Review 72:The owner and receptionist were pleasant. The breakfast was okay although oil used left a bad aftertaste.
Review 73:not the best of sound proofing from the room next door but not a major issue
Review 74:comfortable accommodation with a decent restaurant attached. helpful staff and welcoming for us and our pooch.easy parking nearby.Excellent inclusive breakfast
Review 75:the powerplugs were hard to access & the shelf over the sink i kept banging my head these are very minor problems
Review 76:the friendliness of the staff the quality off the food & the cleanliness of the hotel i cannot understand why this hotel is only a 3 star it deserves more
Review 77:The food served at the Alyth Hotel is excellent. The dinner menu offers lots of choice and our meals where beautifully presented, very well prepared and tasty! If you make it as far as desert, the bread and butter pudding with Drambuie custard is highly recommended. The cooked breakfast was freshly prepared from top quality ingredients, including a real sausage and excellent lean back-bacon.
Review 78:Normal breakfast service commences at 08.00 as 'business' travellers myself and others required an earlier, 07.30 breakfast which is normal elsewhere I think?. This was provided but the service was a bit slow and coupled with checkout meant a later start. The lady on duty did her best but probably it needs another waitress.
Review 79:Comfortable room, vfm food, friendly staff, nice location
Review 80:The room, lounge, bar and restaurant were comfortable yet casually elegant. The breakfast was very good and included heart-healthy options like fruit and yogurt. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lunch, dinner and high tea meals were all excellent. the location is in the heart of Alyth near the bus stop and with a view of the Alyth Burn. Charming inside and out.
Review 81:Our room had the previous guests litter, not a full toilet roll, lots of lies everywhere in the hotel, the "lady of the house" - as she introduced herself was stern and unhelpful. We overheard other guests who had a problem with their shower and she barked at them "you should've told me a breakfast, I can't do anything about it on a Saturday night". Veg at dinner was overcooked - soggy.
Review 82:It was homely
Review 83:I think that the staff must speak an easier english. For someone notexpert in english language is very difficulut understand when peolplespeak fast and use slung words
Review 84:The scenario , the dinner
Review 85:Extractor fan in ensuite bathroom and downlighter not working.
