Reviews for The Boutique

Review 1:noise cost of parking during week (although not applicable to us, we visited on Saturday night) breakfast was plentiful but ordinary, no outstanding food

Review 2:central location

Review 3:Room was a little on the small side but for €49, can't expect too much. Wifi, while free, was a little patchy. While the reception is open 24 hours, it's often unmanned and you have to ring a bell to get in past the front door, which is fine, but when we returned to the hotel at about 2.30am, we ended up waiting for around 10 minutes outside before we got in as the overnight staff member wasn't on reception, didn't respond to the bell and only returned after I rang the hotel twice with him answering the second time I rang. By that stage, 4 or 5 others had also gathered outside waiting to get in. I get you don't need to be at reception the whole time but if you're off around the hotel somewhere else, keep a close eye and ear out for the front door so your customers aren't waiting in the cold and wet. You have to park at one of the nearby car parks as the hotel doesn't have its own. This means you can end up paying anything between €12 and €20 for overnight parking. Hotel recommends Cornmarket car park as it's €12.50 overnight, which is the cheapest so just keep that in mind when parking up before going to hotel.

Review 4:Brilliant location for heading out in Limerick City, particularly for the nightlife. You're only a short walk from the likes of the Icon, Flannery's, Molly's and Nancy's while many other places are also within walking distance. Very handy for groups, such as stags or hens as it's so central. Great location for shopping too. Great value for what you get. Didn't have the breakfast but it was only €6.50, which is good value. Will definitely stay here again when going out in Limerick.

Review 5:Only negative was some generator (or something like that) noise that went on all night, it was incredibly annoying!

Review 6:Loved the huge room (family room), comfortably fitted 5 adults. Location was second to none for us. Girl on reception was very helpful and friendly! Value for money was excellent. Shower was amazing!

Review 7:We stayed in the hotel on a Sunday night and we were disturbed by the loud music coming from the near pub and by people screaming/laughing in the streets.

Review 8:The hotel is well located since it is the city centre, only a few minutes walk from the bus/train station, lots of pubs/restaurants and Thomond Park. Our room was big enough for a short stay and clean; the furniture was new. The breakfast buffet was not very rich but you can order a variety of things, ranging from toasted bread to a full irish breakfast.

Review 9:We should have been told that there would be loud music playing until 2am and that the noise on the street would not be gone until at least 4am. We had a terrible night's sleep and when we spoke to the receptionist she gave no comment. She also said that the manager "Gary" would contact us that afternoon but we have heard nothing. We both work extremely hard and this visit to Limerick was not a pleasant experience. That fact that there was a match on in Aviva should not excuse this. We would have preferred to have stayed elsewhere.

Review 10:No car park, but i did get space across from the church and as it was Saturday evening when i arrived it was ok to leave the car there until we left on Sunday. Also it wasnt really that bad but the sink in our room was a little blocked, everything else was fine.

Review 11:it was clean, cheap and was centrally located, and had tea and coffee facilities in the room.

Review 12:Poor shower. Potential security of room as a lot of play in the door exposing the latch.

Review 13:Location. Right in the city centre and good value for that. Free wifi. Reasonable price.

Review 14:No power socket in the room for hair straighteners etc.

Review 15:Location ideal, price excellent. Rooms were basic but not lacking in any way. You have everything you need - shower, comfy bed, tv, kettle. Perfect for an overnight stay. .don't think it would be good for a long stay though.

Review 16:There was late bar/club next door, creating a lot of noise, but it didn't affect me, as I went to bed late, after it was closed.

Review 17:Modern interior, nice selection of colours of interior design, clean place, everything looks like new, modern place, felt like being in good place, and of course good value for money. Better place than some 4 star in Cork City.

Review 18:Was advised by staff the would be noise as busy area at weekend but wasn't expecting the noise to be so bad the pub around the corner had live music until 12.30 and then juke box until 2.am no joke the band might as well have been in the room with us. Not ideal with children. Breakfast didn't start until 8.am by which time we had to long gone

Review 19:Handy, straightforward little hotel. Good location in the centre of town, with everything within easy walking distance. Breakfast was fine, bed comfy, decent-sized room, no problems with WiFi or anything else. I'd definitely stay here again.

Review 20:Size of bathroom - are you serious? To walk in you have to open the door the lean to the wall then you close door and same time trying squeezing inside. Raise your hands in shower cabin? Forget it. Come on guys I know you tight on space but this is way too small.

Review 21:Everything

Review 22:The rooms were not as advertised. The tv was not working. The shower water was cold. The staff knew very little of the area (e.g on arrival we were told to park on the street. On checkout the night staff was outside the front door smoking and he held up his hand to ask us to wait whilst he finished his cigarette. We then asked him to call a taxi for us and he simply said he didn't know of any taxis).

Review 23:The vending machine broke while we were using it and we didnt get the money refunded or any food. This was possibly more miscommunication than anything else though.

Review 24:The location is excellent, beds are very comfortable, you get what you pay for and overall it was great value for money. I would stay again!

Review 25:Double bed was two single pushed together. Shower was tiny. TV was very poor quality and only 2 channels. Walls wer very thin cud hear everything above below n beside you.

Review 26:Good WiFi. Good location.

Review 27:I somehow lost my room key. I had to pay a 25 euro fine. It's a pity the hotel doesn't have swipe cards like other hotels which would mean no cost for customers who accidentally lose their key. It can happen anyone.

Review 28:Great Location for Limerick Nite Life!! Get value for money and a huge breakfast included.

Review 29:Breakfast finished too early at 9.30 TV reception very bad, (though I was only staying one night so didn't matter to me) No one at reception at checkout, had rang bell and waited 10 minutes

Review 30:Very good location in town, although situated on a small back street so may not suit all Room very clean and tidy

Review 31:loads of noise outside, this isn't a criticism of the hotel, but just that central in the city there is always going to be late night revellers. tv didn't work

Review 32:its so central, very reasonable prices. rooms were small but very comfortable.

Review 33:It's quite loud as it's near nightclubs so it isn't suitable for people who are light sleepers. The shower was very hot. The room was small but fine for those who are going to be out.

Review 34:Fantastic location for those who want to go out or go shopping in Limerick. Really convenient location. The breakfast was really excellent!!! Cooked fresh, good coffee and generous.

Review 35:I didn't like anything about it. I mistakenly booked the Boutique Hotel and not the George Boutique Hotel..It should be called more along the lines of a Hostel. Basic accommodation.

Review 36:The decor was dated and the carpet was stained. The building is old, but has character and obviously was once a good establishment, but needs upgrading.

Review 37:We felt very welcome. The bed linen & towels were spotless, and the beds very comfortable.

Review 38:Bathroom door wouldn't close . I reported it and they said they knew and we're waiting to get it fixed. In My view it shouldn't have been used. Breakfast was very dismal and fry up was a disgrace overcooked and not appetising at all. Won't be staying here again for that reason

Review 39:Hotel is very central and was very clean . Staff were courtious

Review 40:It is in a very noisy location and so not suited to business travellers. There is a bar directly underneath and there was live music playing very loudly well past midnight. The TV didn't work at all either.

Review 41:It was clean and the staff were helpful.

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:Everything, hotel staff, big and warm room. Wifi is also high speed and good. Room is really big enough. Location is perfect. There is also o turkish kebab house below the hotel. I really like it.

Review 44:Room was very small and narrow, as was the shower. The décor is dated but clean. There was also a lot of noise from the plumbing system throughout the night.

Review 45:Hotel is centrally located and breakfast was good.

Review 46:the shower could do with an update.

Review 47:The comfort of the room and the heat was lovely.. the extra pillows on request and the staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Review 48:Silver fish in the bathroom freaked my friend and the girls out...door was very light with just a key.. no extra lock on door on inside didn't feel very safe... lots of noise loud music from the pubs and clubs next door... no car parking facilities if you arrive late as car park next door closes at 8pm... closest car park at end of road not safe with 2 young teenagers.

Review 49:Breakfast was really good

Review 50:I have stayed here before but the previous rooms overlooked a carpark and church area are were very comfortable. The room this time overlooked the Old Quarter area and was just too noisy at night and also piped music blaring from early morning.

Review 51:Location, price, clean.

Review 52:Receptionist wasn't very friendly and she looked disinterested and bored. She wasn't very helpful when we asked her of any nearby restaurants... particularly when there was one lovely one directly across the street. Car park was also too far up the street. It was raining and we had to trek up the street with our luggage - not ideal in heels and a new do!!!

Review 53:location, cleanliness and great value for money

Review 54:The noise level was unbearable. Our room was directly above the smoking area of the old quarter where there was live music until around 3am. I could also hear guests in the rooms on either side snoring through the night. When I asked for a glass of water I was told I had to buy a bottle in the vending machine. I have never had to pay for water in a hotel.

Review 55:Location and clean bed.

Review 56:The rooms are small, not clean, room not tidied or towels replaced each day Shower to small to fit in No facilities in the hotel generally very poor and over priced for is more like a hosel

Review 57:There is nothing to like about this hotel

Review 58:The shower in the bathroom was ridiculously small! There was barely room to turn around! I am not exaggerating, had to squeeze through the bloody doors!

Review 59:The beds were excellent, very comfy, and I loved the tv in the room!

Review 60:The hotel is incredibly basic and shabby, the carpet upstairs is revolting, there is a horrific smell from the dining area/canteen.... the rooms are shabby and the bathroom is tiny including for some bizarre reason a full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door- the bathroom is so tiny that the only way you can actually use this is if you sit on the toilet .........

Review 61:The location of the hotel was excellent, one of the staff was extremely pleasant

Review 62:The room was very small as was the bathroom. The shower was tiny the smallest I have ever seen! I'm not a big person ( size 12) but I had to squeeze into the shower side ways and try not to hurt myself! The bathroom light had a dirty piece of cord. Toiletries were not replenished daily and one day coffee cups were not washed! But the worst was the Noise from 11pm - 3pm from the night clubs close by. Ear plugs didn't help. This was booked as a quiet room!! Never again. They do tell you there is some noise but under play it. If you want comfort and sleep don't go there!!!

Review 63:The breakfast was good and the staff helpful and pleasant.

Review 64:I am not sure why a small screen TV is stuck on a wall near the ceiling - not the most comfortable position for watching TV. Did not realize the noise factor until I was booking in and signing forms - I don't remember seeing that on the website - I think that needs to be named upfront so people can make more informed choices

Review 65:I was given good directions from bus station to boutique. The room was clean and had a kettle, tea, coffee, milk, and sugar. The area is very close to shops. Good breakfast options.

Review 66:i found a used towel beside my bed but no big deal really.

Review 67:staff, location, breakfast, room, price! excellent loved this hotel such good value for money.

Review 68:Second time I've stayed in this hotel right in the city center great value for money staff are very helpful and friendly will definitely stay here again

Review 69:Room a bit small but you'll only be sleeping in it or you know what>:) so not much to dislike really.

Review 70:Centrally located, so your next to all the pubs and clubs also very close to taxis and bus links. Quaint little hotel:-)

Review 71:2 channels on TV and neither were Ireland's main channels. Unbelievable noise from disco next door and people on street until 2.30am. Windows not soundproofed. No parking.

Review 72:Breakfast

Review 73:No breakfast -Chef slept in No dinner on site had to go down the streetLocation too noisy

Review 74:If your young and not working value for money but not for business

Review 75:Although spending only one night in Limerick, we would not recommend this hotel at all. In our room the beds were not comfortable and the bath room was lacking of hygiene. We could barely use the shower. During the night there was a smell of chip fat in our room that there was no chance of opening the window. We were only spending one night in Limerick, we expected more and it's not worth the money.

Review 76:The hotel is very well located.

Review 77:Just a little noisy from music downstairs but nothing you can do and it finished at a reasonable hour

Review 78:Girls were very friendly and even adjusted the price of my stay when I didn't have the breakfast I ordered through fault of my own :-) lovely lounge area and breakfast room. Very nice ambiance

Review 79:B&B thought ment bed and breakfast? Breakfast was extra. Too expensive for the room and space along with the long walk to town 35 40 minutes not 15.

Review 80:The young man that checked us in was helpful and friendly.

Review 81:No parking nearby. The double bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable it was like sleeping on concrete. I eventually moved to the single bed which was better

Review 82:Location was perfect.

Review 83:P symbol on descriptor misleading, they have NO on site parking. Street (2 hour limit daytime) or commercial park down the road.

Review 84:Location close to centre

Review 85:Everything about the hotel was bad sometimes our room didn't get cleaned for nearly 2 days, the showers were unbelievably small, the TV had 2 channels working I travel to Limerick about 5 times a year staying in different hotels and I can honestly say this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, the only good thing about the place was the 2 reception girls they were very welcoming and were really happy,

Review 86:Window broken which led to gaps around window which let a lot of cold in during the night which also allowed a lot more noise in from other properties I reported it to staff but no one fixed it to which I was told twice maintenance guy would fix but didn't even show

Review 87:The location of our room. Was right beside a pub with loud music. But there was no problem changing rooms. As I said very accommodating to my needs

Review 88:Everything was perfect. Very accommodating for me needs.

Review 89:Pub with very loud music is besides the hotel. There was no information about it. Bathroom wasnt clean enough (mould on ceiling!), very small shower, poor shower equipment, hard to make proper warm water (was only hot or cold during the night).

Review 90:Staff is very nice and helpfull. Hotel is nice, the room was nice too except bathroom).

Review 91:The room was very small (one of those where you need to go into the hall to change your mind) but we weren't in the room enough that it mattered. There is no lift but they carried our bags to the room. Since there are pubs near by it can be a bit noisy at night.

Review 92:This hotel is in the middle of the old city and is walking distance to shopping, pubs, and attractions. It is a clean hotel with very friendly, and helpful, staff. We liked this place much more than the tour hotel we moved into later.

Review 93:Staff was nice but not professional. Even though there was nobody else in the room, it took some time to get her attention to perform the check-in. I also informed her of an early check-out (8am), but the reception was not occupied when I had to leave the following morning. The rooms are sweet and the concept of the hotel appealing, but it could really use some do up.

Review 94:It is easy to find and the shower is hot.

Review 95:Although the website warns that there may be some noise it is in an extremely noisy area - my room was above the bar and there was loud live music from early evening until 1.30am. The hotel is also badly in need of refurbishment

Review 96:Excellent location in the city centre, bed was comfortable, staff friendly and polite

Review 97:Hard to find even with GPS. Noisy area of town. Parking is limited. Smallest shower stall I have seen.

Review 98:Surprisingly nice hotel/inn centrally located. Great breakfast served by pleasant and friendly staff.

Review 99:Only thing is is that if you want to get some sleep at night and are a light sleeper, perhaps look elsewhere as a lot of the rooms are right above the Old Quarter pub which means you are right above loud music / DJ / Friday and Saturday night people out on the tear so until 3am on these nights, it is going to be quite noisy.

Review 100:Friendly staff, great location within the city, nice and clean, good value for money

Review 101:Odd ceiling lines meant having to watch my head when getting out of bed. They could do better with breakfast, but it was adequate.

Review 102:The hotel provided very useful information about parking. The location in the city center is excellent.

Review 103:The 1st week in September is the worse time to go as all the students have returned and seem to go wild. The noise at 0230am (night club kicking out time) was horrendous so didn't get to much sleep.

Review 104:Breakfast was excellent and staff very pleasant and helpful

Review 105:Loved all except cooked breakfast fatty. Wifi needed to put email in and join bit buzz so used local pub instead.

Review 106:staff great, room great, location perfect

Review 107:The evening staff graciously guided us via phone late at night to make the turns along the correct one way streets to a place where we could park, and then she stood outside & waved to help us find the hotel on Denmark Street when we were so tired from our flight. Plus, the delicious breakfast helped to revive us the following morning.

Review 108:We didn't like the fact that you had to open an account with bitbuzz to use the WiFi so we didn't bother. We didn't like that we had to pay extra for parking.

Review 109:So close to the shops and the water. Staff were friendly.

Review 110:At the time of reservation and upon arrival you are informed that the place may be somewhat noisy due to its position near bars and the like. They don't tell you that someone will uninterruptedly yell and scream until 3am, making it impossible for anyone to sleep until that time!

Review 111:The central location

Review 112:A little noisy at night due to pub next door but surprisingly this did not keep me awake.

Review 113:great breakfast. very attentive staff .close to city centre. Great value for money

Review 114:The noise was crazy the rooms need a refurb. windows, curtains etc. Its more like a poor hostel. I could not find anywhere their advance notice of noise. its then the first thing they tell you on arrival. Too late when you have arrived with family

Review 115:Location is superb. Staff were very pleasant.

Review 116:The shower unfortunately was absolutely tiny.I struggled to get in and out as the opening was so restricted...definately not standard of a three star hotel.

Review 117:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless.

Review 118:the staff was not informed about touristic information. the receptionist gave us direction for an installation that was removed well over a year ago. when we checked out, there was no-one at the reception to greet us.

Review 119:Good location. Good breakfast.

Review 120:Booking.com should not suggest this for a family. The small printexplaining about some noise from outside was not adequate. This place isnot suitable for anyone who is not out partying until 4 am. A live bandwas playing outside a bar beside this'hotel' until 12.30followed by disco music and screaming people. The carpet in room 201 wasfilthy. Never again!

Review 121:It is a good central location. Breakfast was fine. Receptionist at checkin was friendly.

Review 122:VERY small bathroom VERY, VERY noisy at night from the music from the local bar past 2am shabby hotel

Review 123:Kate from the front desk was wonderful. Kind, welcoming, helpful and pleasant!

Review 124:If you have problems walking ask for a lower room as there is no lift

Review 125:Great location. A bit of noise at night but we slept great. Good breakfast and great value for money.

Review 126:The location of this hotel is both it's highlight and downfall. While it is conveniently central, situated directly beneath the hotel is a sports bar/club that bangs out tunes until 2am. The choice of music was not particularly offensive (loads of karaoke hits on this August Thursday night), trying to sleep above this and the associated revellers does tend to affect the quality of sleep. Other points are lack of free parking (I managed to park on the street in front of the hotel but naturally space is limited) and a tiny shower cubicle. All in it's not a bad place to stay but I would suggest a tad overpriced for what you get.

Review 127:Paying for parking.

Review 128:Pre-informed us it could be noisy due to being in the city on a Saturday night. Staff very nice & helpful. Discount for local carpark.

Review 129:Orange juice at breakfast was warm as well as milk for cereal. Just brown sugar on table (Small things)

Review 130:Central location most staff very friendly and helpful

Review 131:I would have preferred a lift instead of stairs - when you're carrying bags it's awkward. I think they are in the middle of a refurb or else it was just our room but we couldn't double lock the door from the inside - there was only a single key light lock on our door - unusual for a hotel - the regular handle was broken!

Review 132:The location was great. The price point was great. Hotel very clean. Breakfast room looked pretty (we didn't actually have breakfast).

Review 133:The shower cubicle in our room was far too small and very difficult to use not a lot of space to get in and out of We had a room overlooking the church so noise from clubs etc was bearable but people coming back late at night were noisy

Review 134:Very friendly helpful staff Breakfast was excellent

Review 135:Very nice and spacious double room and en-suite. Friendly staff. We arrived a little earlier than check-in time but they accomodated us. Could be noisy at w/e. Luckily I am a sound sleeper

Review 136:No lift. Winding corridor a bit confusing but I am elderly!

Review 137:The decor - warm and welcoming and stylish. The perfection of the bed linen, curtains, extra blankets and pillows and snow white towels artistically arranged. Receptionist quickly and efficiently changed my room to a quiet side of the building when she recognised that I'm a senior citizen. Wonderful!

Review 138:IGNORANCE of staff ! picture of facility very DECEVING.. SHEETS ONLY CHANGED ONCE IN 3 NIGHTS EVEN THOUGH WE REQUESTED THEM TO BE CHANGED.. location IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND.. extremely noisy IN NIGHTS..SANIFLOW SYSTEM OR GENERATOR RUNNING ALL NIGHT..ridiculous PORTABLE television.. STUFFY IN BEDROOMS WINDOW BARELY OPENS..HARRASSED BY STAFF OVER mistake ON THEIR behalf.. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN AND DONT recommend IT TO ANYONE..

Review 139:NOT ALOT

Review 140:Knew going into the Boutique that it was in bar district so not surprised by noise ( we were there on weekend) .no elevators and stairs may be an issue with some.

Review 141:Location, full breakfast. Decent value for economy hotel.
