Reviews for Cross Hotel Osaka
Review 1:This is the best Hotel to stay at, clean great room service friendly and helpful staff. Perfect spot to stay. All the sights, shopping, and eating places, not to mention ease of getting to the train station and airport. Best breakfast buffet that changes everyday.
Review 2:We couldn't open the window in our room and were told by rules all windows can't be open?
Review 3:great location! close to busy areas, restaurants, shopping and subway station.
Review 4:The coffee machine was a bit difficult to use after making a first cup of coffee
Review 5:Cross hotel definitely knows its customers needs and caters efficiently
Review 6:Good location, very close to the busy street and the underground station. The staff is very nice and we have been upgraded for 2 days! There is a bathing and showering area in the room which is a key feature of the room! It is so comfortable and you can take a bath after your tiring day! Also, the hotel is very clean! Highly recommend to people who want a comfort stay in Osaka!
Review 7:The pillows were not soft enough.
Review 8:Excellent location, helpful staffs, very good breakfast. I like the big bowl of salad and the freshly baked croissant served at the table. I highly recommend this hotel.
Review 9:Could have had some lotion :)
Review 10:Shampoo, condition and body wash in large bottles for guest use. Huge bath ! Hot water !!! Very clean room. Stool in bathroom for doing hair and make up . Very roomy :) excellent breakfast !!!!!! No complaints at all :)
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:The hotel is very clean, breakfast were excelent, with a lot of foods and coffee, even we could choose the pillow and they provide kimono for us,thank you cross hotel
Review 13:When we check in the room, it has a small cockroach in the bathroom, of course we kill it immediately, and ask the hotel come to clean is up ASAP. And the service from the hotel is good, but they may take attention of the cleaning.
Review 14:The décor is a little dated in the rooms.
Review 15:Great location near multiple train/subway stations. Right next to main shopping and eating areas. The buffet breakfast had very good quality food and lots of variety.
Review 16:Upper floor and bigger room
Review 17:Room rate is getting higher and higher. Most of the time refused to offer late check out. Pls remind cross hotel that I stayed their hotel almost 2 times a month. My request is very simple. 1. Room close to elevator 2. One hour late check out 3. Smoking room
Review 18:Cost is at high side considering limited facilities available. Not so worth for value except location
Review 19:Hotel is strategically located in shopping area and easily access to train station Breaksfast served was good with lots of variaties
Review 20:Very good location for this hotel! The shopping street is just behind the hotel. Good service and cleanliness! Room too comfortable that we woke up late! :D
Review 21:The location of the hotel is excellent. It is situated next to Dontombori area and less than 5 minutes walk to Namba station. Food and shopping are within reach and yet it's location is along a pleasant, quiet and prestigious road mall.
Review 22:Nothing much. Probably just wish the train station is nearer.
Review 23:- Location of the hotel is great for those who want to shop. - The bathtub and the toiletries!
Review 24:Perfectly situated in the heart of Osaka's exciting Namba district, the well-appointed Cross Hotel is a reflection of both the area's sophistication and decadent fun. The staff are polite, helpful and thoughtful, and helped make our stay especially enjoyable.
Review 25:The walk to JR station is a little far if you have lots of luggages or walking is an issue. A little tricky if you are taking train to Kyoto and walk to JR station is very far. Better to stay at Shin Osaka for better and easy travel from train station to Kyoto
Review 26:Very central location especially foe shopping if you have only 1 day in the city
Review 27:The staff is horrible! My husband's wheel broke off his luggage so we had to buy a new one. The staff refused to dispose of his old suitcase. When we asked where we could dispose of it, they said "i dont know" and were of no help whatsoever. We just felt like they didn't care because of their attitude and lack of eye contact. It was the worst customer service experience we've ever had in Japan. We had to lug 3 huge luggages to the train station to go to Kansai airport, and then had a connection in Haneda to Narita and then to Hawaii. Really stressful situation and would not stay there again because of that.
Review 28:Location was great as it was steps away from Dotonbori. A bit of a trek though from the train station.
Review 29:There is this recurring random ticking sound in the room.. not sure what is it but was a bit distracting especially during bedtime.
Review 30:Location is superb Bedding was comfy Bathroom was spacious with good water pressure ! Breakfast spread was good
Review 31:The lobby is a bit dark
Review 32:Bathroom and the room is spacious, the beds are really comfy that you can rest up after doing shopping at Shinsaibashi, highly accessible with only one minute walk to the shopping avenue
Review 33:Elevators can be slow at times.
Review 34:Location, daily breakfast, comfortable bathroom, luxurious toiletries, great and helpful staff. Would love to stay here again.
Review 35:Rather pricey.
Review 36:Location is fantastic, right next to domtobori area. Walking distance to subway. Room is comfortable and has good amenities. Pillows are comfortable.
Review 37:The room was very small for the price. We had a much bigger room in Tokyo for a lot less money. The room smelled of old smoke. We were glad it was only for one night.
Review 38:The location
Review 39:Nothing about the hotel or its facility but I find it a bit pricey though.
Review 40:The location was great! Very convinient and there are many places to shop and eat nearby.
Review 41:Requested for high floor during booking 5 months ago. Ended up at 8th floor instead of with all my friends who had their rooms at 14th floor. Extremely disappointed. The front desk apologised but I was not convinced nor pleased as no detailed explanation given.
Review 42:1. Location is good. Near subway, near to shopping and dining areas (I.e Next to Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street, Umeda & Namba). Very convenient. 2. Clean & Comfortable room. 3. Very sharp & attentive staff. I would like to compliment 1 of the front desk staff. My husband & I had afternoon tea at the hotel's Tables Cafe & their new waiter made me signed twice for my bill that charged to our room. Being in holiday mood I didn't realized I paid twice for 2 different bills. The front desk staff alerted me & clarified whether I was paying for my friends in the same restaurant but different table & different time as the other table has left; as she noticed only my husband & I at the table without talking or greeting to the other table that I paid for. Thanks to her that saved me some cash that I can do more shopping. ^_^
Review 43:The young female staffer assisted us in telling the taxi driver to take us to the Shin-Osaka Eki. She also gave us an accurate estimate of the taxi fare.
Review 44:Room had a strong smoky smell although non-smoking room reserved.
Review 45:Great location right in the busy central area of Osaka, but easy access to subway. Very good breakfast and friendly staff.
Review 46:For me there was nothing very special about this hotel. Next time I would stay at a cheaper hotel.
Review 47:Cross Hotel is in a great location for sightseeing right beside the Glico man and all the action. It has a great buffet breakfast. It's close to Ichiran ramen - yummy!
Review 48:Pillows were like rocks! The whole hotel (group booking multiple rooms) smells of smoke regardless of whether it is a non smoking room. No coin laundry facilities.
Review 49:Fantastic location. Great bathroom products. Free bottled water.
Review 50:Breakfast is just about average but not really worth the cost. Especially with a lot of choices just within walking distance.
Review 51:Location plus the value for money.
Review 52:Unfair to frequent visitors every time asked for one hour late check out and room rate very expensive compared to last trip( I came two times per month)
Review 53:Good location
Review 54:But most of the time refused to offer one hour late check out especially not concer frequent visitor. Pls check my record. I stayed Cross Hotel at least 2 times a month.
Review 55:Staff are friendly.
Review 56:Staff very ok. We booked a non smonking room and when we entered at room was a smoking room. Coming back to front desk, staff changed room almost as an obligation ( we paid more at reservation to a no smoking room) and different from all other hotels at Japan, staff very unpolite
Review 57:Location very close to subway and confort.
Review 58:Noisy during night time. This hotel is located by the side of big busy street.
Review 59:Location! This hotel is in the edge of Dotombori. Bathroom is perfect. (I'd never seen like this over 100 5-star hotels)
Review 60:The location of elevator is kind of weird. If you do not notice, you may miss the elevator stopping at your floor while waiting for it. Abit pricey.
Review 61:Best location ever. Right in the middle of Dotonburi.
Review 62:Wi-Fi strong but very slow.
Review 63:A unique sense of presense in the whole hotel. Great bar and restaurant. Lime is just unique in decor and great food. Backs on to Shinsai Bashir shopping street and a stone throw from Dontonbori
Review 64:The location is super good. We can drop off things after our crazy shopping, then go down again for second round. Besides, the room is sort of spacious which is more than Japanese standard. There is a big washroom too which is great for us.
Review 65:Wasn't able to get late checkout due to hotel being fully booked.
Review 66:Location right in centre of Osaka.Hotel 5 star in every respect.Staff very courteous. Breakfast superb with plenty of choices.Room facilities luxurious.
Review 67:Worn out interior, smells like cigarette in corridors (had to change rooms because of that)- its best days are over...won't come back
Review 68:Greatest location, friendly staff, stylish lobby, huge breakfast buffet, comfy beds, japanese style bathrooms
Review 69:the light in corridor is a bit darker, might be purposely setup to create a special effect.
Review 70:wash room very special with modern yet Japanese bath tube
Review 71:Dark corridors Less choices of American breakfast
Review 72:Modern bathroom amenities Great location. Very near the train station, shopping areas and restaurants.
Review 73:not experience in restaurant recommendation, despite is trying to help. english speaking is barely manageable. should be better for 4 star hotel. can have better choice for similar hotel rate
Review 74:location
Review 75:No negative feedback.
Review 76:A short walk to the bustling area of Dotonburi. Plenty of shops and food in the vicinity. Room was very clean and comfortable and surprisingly quiet considering how close we were to the action.
Review 77:The poor wifi connection and it is difficult to reach service & info thru room phone. The curtain of the room impedes the vent & flow of the air condition and the beady, beany pillows are not comfortable at all…had a stiff neck when i woke up. :(
Review 78:Definitely the bathroom!
Review 79:Nothing to do with location, but the bed pillows left a lot to be desired. They were much tho hard and crackly for comfort.
Review 80:This hotel is conveniently located walking distance to the train line, restaurants, and shopping malls.
Review 81:Right next to everything, dotonbori right outside the hotel, right next to the subway, don't have to walk far to experience Osaka. Great first two nights in japan, no noise from the street either. Very good price.
Review 82:The dark hallways threw me off in the beginning
Review 83:The hotel is in a very convenient lication. It is a 2 min walk to where the restaurants and shopping is. It is 2 blocks to a subway entrance. The room might be small but it was always kept clean.
Review 84:the hotel was not really helping to arrange luggage transfer and transport to hotel. Just said "we dont do it" and that was it.
Review 85:huge room for Japan standard and close to shopping walk
Review 86:the location is hard to beat just a minute away from subway and the central shopping and food area. the bathroom is amazing - a high standard Japanese bathroom with a full size bath tub and shower in a separate wet room. Hotels at this price range usually have only the "half bathroom" that foreigners would have no issue with. we were very impressed.
Review 87:Good location, bathroom is same style as Japanese Bath house, maybe not something you will get used to on your 1st day in Japan, but it's definitly very good to try. If you happen to stay here right after a trip to a Hot Spring resort like us, you will appreciate the bathroom style even more.
Review 88:Poor English on staff so sometimes didn't understand overseas guests requests like extra towels.
Review 89:Free expensive toiletries, spacious bath, lovely breakfast buffet, close to train station & shopping streets!
Review 90:Room size was a bit small For family.
Review 91:The location was fantastic. It's near to the subway with good variety of food joints and shopping was easily accessed. Room was kept clean all the time.
Review 92:WiFi didn't work very good,me and my friend couldn't use WiFi while we stay.
Review 93:This hotel is one of the best hotel i have ever been stay and I will like to stay there next time I visit Japan. The location is just next to shopping street and room is clean and comfortable.
Review 94:one reception staff didn't know what early check out meant and wouldn't check us out considering we had an early flight the next day. fortunately, another front desk staff was more open and assisted us with no problem
Review 95:right at the heart of dontonbori and shinsaibashi room and bathroom amenities
Review 96:Room size small. Double bed against the wall made it difficult for person lying on that side to get in and out of bed.
Review 97:The location and facilities are very good. Staff was helpful but had difficulty communicating in English,
Review 98:Located next to Shinsaibashi and Dotonburi, Great for food, shopping and ambiance. Short walk from train station. Clean and comfortable room and beds. Onsen style bathroom with large bathtub. Good quality toiletries.
Review 99:My hubby had intermittent disconnection on his wifi though mine was fine.
Review 100:Love the location. Right in centre of dining and shopping districts. Hotel looks new and it's design is very modern, chic and tasteful. Perfect for young couples. Thumbs up!
Review 101:AC very noisy in the 14th floor, no free electric adaptor for my appliances , the hotel offer only free usb adaptor .
Review 102:staff very welcoming and helpful, a top fashion interior design, very good location
Review 103:Only 2 mins walk from Namba station, super convenient. the room was spacious compare to other boutique hotels in Japan. Reasonable price, satisfied with the room amenities. Will come back again!
Review 104:I always stay at Cross Hotel whenever I visit Osaka. Only thing I came across this time was the noise level from the rooms around my wing as the walls between rooms are pretty thin.
Review 105:Great location!
Review 106:Only the slow free-WiFi is not satisfied during our stay in the Hotel.
Review 107:The hotel is very convenient to the Dotonbori, Shisaibashi and Kaisai Airport, the room is quiet and beds are comfortable, the staffs are very nice and helpful.
Review 108:Never concerned frequent guest. I stayed cross hotel 2 times a month but cross hotel never provide booking priority to me. Because they are proud of too many guest stay their? But someday one day when their hotel getting old n new hotel will be opened soon. Then what do your hotel think?
Review 109:Location
Review 110:The standard of staff at the reception area should be improved. A tad cold and standoffish which is quite uncommon normally in Japanese service industry. Or maybe we were just unlucky to have met with a couple of them....
Review 111:The location of Cross Hotel is excellent and given the level of activity around the Shinsaibashi area, it was really well soundproofed. What impressed me was the bathroom with a tub deep and wide to soothe away the day's hard walking in the city!
Review 112:The hotel WIFI didn't work with our smartphones but we carried pocket WIFI so it wasn't a problem.
Review 113:The location is superb! The staff were excellent.
Review 114:Very helpful stuff.Arranged people from post office to pick up my parcel. Helped me change to a quiet room. Heart of everywhere Gonna come back for SURE!
Review 115:Pillows were hard.
Review 116:Easy to get to from Kansai airport. Spacious, well-appointed room. Handy for subway travel. Adjacent to the bustling Dotonbori area.
Review 117:Hotel was a bit dark in the hallways with black painted walls, room size pretty good. A bit more English instructions/guide to use air con, bidet toilet would be helpful.
Review 118:Location, close to heaps of restaurants and a 560 metre undercover shopping mall behind the hotel and the main street has high end shops.
Review 119:Reception staff a bit indifferent in their approach to assist. The cafe you enter inside the reception area offered the onlt slow service we experienced anywhere in Japan. In general the staff at Cross hotel - with exception of spa area - didn't really bother. Price too high, value of money spend for room out of proportion with experience. Will not return.
Review 120:Location is excellent in heart of Osaka's lively entertainment area. Rooms are smallish, clean, bathroom excellent and bed very good. Youngish, smart decor. We enjoyed the spa with a few massages on two occasions, professional and friendly staff who knew their job.
Review 121:As usual, language barrier would made it very difficult to communicate.
Review 122:It is very conveniently located near shopping areas, restaurant and food stalls.
Review 123:All good
Review 124:The room-small but perfectly formed The bathroom- great toiletries and a good hairdryer Great Japanese breakfast Wonderfully Clean everywhere!
Review 125:My superior deluxe double facing main road was extremely noisy. Was given another room which wasn't the same size as the original one. Front desk reason was the original room was the biggest Superior deluxe. Expected to be given same size asthe first room but wasn't.
Review 126:Location.
Review 127:A little disappointed that on the return trip stay at Cross. I was located not in the higher floors and what was included in the 1st booking, wasn't extended to this 2nd return stay, which was only 4 days later.
Review 128:Classified both bookings as wedding anniversary trip. And I think they sorta 'upgraded' the room. Had some nice extras provided and higher floors.
Review 129:Did not have the breakfast plan, so cannot say whether the extra cost would warrant it. Although very positive about my stay, still feel like I paid more than I should have (although not in Osaka).
Review 130:Well appointed room. Great shower room. Very helpful staff. Very central location.
Review 131:A bit pricey. The room is a bit small (although to be fair every hotel room in japan is small).
Review 132:Location is really excellent. They have staff with different nationalities so engaging them is very convenient if you are a foreigner. They are very accommodating when it comes to your requests.
Review 133:Personnel at reception is not fluent in English and/or in Repcetion procedure : some mistakes and taking long time to check in.
Review 134:Hotel situation is just fantastic! Very modern and design hotel. breakfast was very nice.
Review 135:Slight smell of tobacco in room, in Japan this can be expected to some extent but is noticeable to non-smokers.
Review 136:Nearby Dotombori with all its attractions, quiet hotel, politeness of staff, good transport links. I arranged beforehand by e-mail with the hotel a birthday cake to be delivered to our room. All was handled with supreme efficiency, timeliness and care.
