Reviews for Familienhotel Moos-Alm

Review 1:friendly staff, we got upgraded room free of charge which was a very nice surprise. the room was with amazing view and very good facilities. very tasty dinner and breakfast. definitely will come with the kids.

Review 2:When I booked the apartment the pictures was showing a cooking facility along with enough beds but when I reached therr the receptionist told me that the room does not have that facility when I demanded it they offer a smaller room having that facility which was half of the size with the same price!!!!'

Review 3:Nothing at all

Review 4:The private road to get to the hotel is a bit tough, thus I'd recommend the dinner at the hotel for the night.

Review 5:Great location, just in front of a mini zoo. Excellent for kids and babies, staff was very kind and helpful. Good food and excellent breakfast buffet.

Review 6:Nothing at all! :)

Review 7:The location of the hotel couldn't be better! Positioned directly by the ski pista, it is great for every skier! The staff was extremely friendly, the food perfect (!!), rooms comfortable and all the other facilities too! We highly recommend this place!

Review 8:Lounge is a bit small No fireplace No jacuzzi

Review 9:Personable service Great breakfast buffet Amazing 5-course served dinner (all you can eat - I mean it!) Great location for skiing and hiking, (perched 400m above Lienz) right next to the slopes Loads of things to do in summer (zoo, adventure park, alpine coaster) all just in front of hotel Spacious rooms and apartments Great panoramic sauna

Review 10:No idea.

Review 11:We choose this place since this hotel is near to Grossglockner Alpine Road. The hotel staff are friendly and very hospitable to guests. We liked the very clean apartment. And the dinner and breakfast was fantastic!

Review 12:Access is a little difficult along an unsealed road but this did not spoil our stay.

Review 13:We had a three night stay and could not fault the location or the facilities at the hotel. We were warmly greeted by the manager and she even helped with our luggage! The room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed and had a wonderful view of the surrounding peaks. Kitchen facilities were available but we did not use them but would be useful for a young family. We took the half board option and the breakfasts and dinners were excellent, particularly the presentation of the various courses at dinner. Staff were very friendly and helped us with the selection of wines and explaining the menu. Truly a great experience and we would recommend this excellent family run hotel to anyone.

Review 14:We could not find fault.

Review 15:The personal touches shown by the family who own the hotel. The food was sensational and beautifully presented. I do not think that we will ever find a bedroom as gorgeous with a view to die for.

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:All of it especially the location

Review 18:The staff make you feel at home. Very friendly. Exceptional food.

Review 19:Perfect location. Very good breakfast and diner. We stayed only one night, but w certainly come back!

Review 20:The access road is a long steep uphill unpaved forest track which could do with better signposting. On our arrival the barrier at the bottom was locked and we had to seek help to check that we were on the right road. In the winter access is by cable car only and the terminus is adjacent to the hotel.

Review 21:This is an exceptionally good place to stay. Wonderful large room with views over the Dolomites; absolutely spotlessly clean with fabulous large bathroom and separate WC; excellent sound system and TV; nice balcony; although we are retired we could see how wonderful this place is for families with petting areas with animals and wonderful play areas. We stayed half board and the set dinner was excellent; the lady of the house treated us to and joined us for a schnapps which was a nice touch. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice from a cold buffet. We stayed in the summer season.

Review 22:Please note the hotel is located half way up the sky slope and you haveto drive about 2 or 3 km on a private dirt road; but as the road is infairly good condition (we visited in the fall), this is not a problemunless you want quick access to town.

Review 23:Very nice hotel (sky lodge) half way up the mountain. Excellent views ofthe mountains and the Lienz valley. Very helpful and attentive staff.Very reasonably priced for our one night stay.

Review 24:Being halfway up a mountain on the edge of Lienz meant a 2km drive up a windy, gravel and narrow road to get to the hotel. Not difficult if prepared for it.

Review 25:Family run hotel catering for everyone. Lots for kids to do and good for adults either for walks or as a centre for seeing more of Austria. The staff were brilliant, service was perfect and the food - both breakfast and dinners - were varied, excellently tasty and plentiful. The rooms were spacious, modern and well maintained. This was a great stay for us.

Review 26:Make sure you have good instructions to find this lovely hotel (our satnav was useless). Well worth the effort though!

Review 27:One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in! Our hostess, the room, the food (dinner and breakfast) and the location were all fantastic.

Review 28:This is not the fault of the hotel staff but we checked the drivetime before we booked with an outside website (google) and itcomputed a three hour drive from Munich. However, a key road wasclosed and our drive was actually closer to five hours. We did notfind out until we got very close to the closed road because gps didnot register it sooner. Also, we stayed in a family room - this room had a shared balcony with three other rooms which we were unaware of (we assumed it would be private) and we were told that all rooms had mountain views, however our view was more of the adjacent adult action park with a tiny mountain view if you went all the way into the corner of the balcony. Other rooms seemed to have the private balcony and actually faced the mountains.

Review 29:The breakfasts were great and in general the food was really good! Thestaff was friendly and helpful and spoke enough English to make us feelcomfortable. However, the hotel is off the beaten path enough to feelvery authentic and like a complete get-away. Due to our unexpecteddriving difficulty (see - section) we called the hotel in confusion andthey did their best to help us figure out an alternate route. They alsomade sure someone was there to welcome us and the restaurant was stillopen for a delicious meal. They really cater to the children - littletoys with the meals, warmed baby milk on request, provided cot and babyblankets, etc. Ideally the family room would be good for children alittle older than mine (1 and 4 years old) because the extra sleepingchamber is upstairs, so I was nervous about my 4 year old going up anddown by herself, but overall the family room is a great option! Thelocation is nice - it is up a dirt road past the castle, so it takes afew extra minutes to get into town but there was plenty for us all to doon the mountain, including great play ground with adult zipline/tree adventure section, the petting zoo, the super slide andthe gondola. We also thought that it was good value for the money! Andthe location is great for other days trips -- like San Candido, nationalparks, Cortina, alpine drive, etc. We drove to/from Munich butSalzburg probably would have been closer due to the closed road.

Review 30:The rooms were beautiful, very comfortable, the area was breath taking, the walks were fun. The hotel was one of the best i have stayed in. The food was amazing, and the Couple running the hotel were friendly and helpful .

Review 31:Incredibly welcoming hosts, good location

Review 32:The road to the hotel was very bad, but will be renovated very soon.

Review 33:Very friendly couple is running this hotel. Has serious gastronomic potential!
