Reviews for Hôtel Le Saint-Geniès

Review 1:I loved the place - the hotel itself, the setting in the country, the propriator, the petit dejeuner. Spacious, lovely bathroom with room for stuff, nice mirrors, view of trees out window, quiet.

Review 2:A mini fridge and tea & coffee facilities in the room would be great.

Review 3:Very helpful and friendly owners. Great pool. Suited us well with the location and car park.

Review 4:The room we had was a little dated and the location is a little outside the town centre, but it is a pleasant stroll into town and the bathroom was a good size.

Review 5:We loved the pool - an idyllic thing to find in the middle of a heatwave! - the friendly nature of the management upon our arrival and that they had managed to accommodate our request for a room on the ground floor. They let us dry our swimming things on their washing line and were generally very helpful.

Review 6:Would prefer a little more storage with drawers or shelves. Need to drive into town or take a taxi.

Review 7:This hotel is run by the owners which adds that personal touch. Very comfortable room. Good breakfast, fresh boiled eggs available. Served on the terrace or in dining room. Enjoyed pool - towels provided. Easy parking. Taxi arranged on request.

Review 8:Nothing I really disliked. A little far from town, but that also made it quieter.

Review 9:Very comfortable, quiet, peaceful. Excellent breakfast on lovely terrace.

Review 10:No tea/coffee in the room.

Review 11:Hotel was in a great location. It is on the outside of town so quiet. Also loved the pool. Breakfast is well worth the money.

Review 12:Only meal/food available was breakfast. Location just a little to far from Uzes centre.

Review 13:Excellent value for money, very clean and modern hotel. Staff extremely friendly, helpful and courteous.

Review 14:My only critique would be the following - if there could be a central area where tea/coffee could be made, a container with filtered water, and a small fridge for guests to share, it would make this place perfect.

Review 15:The location and the friendly owners were great. It is a quiet little oasis in a very nice small town and area. The owners run the place with pride and precision. It has a great porch which we enjoyed every morning and evening. The breakfast was great and very well presented.

Review 16:All good

Review 17:A most helpful and pleasant host and a lovely place to spend one night on a road trip. Although it was on the edge of town this was not an issue as there was plentiful parking when we went to explore Uzes the next morning.

Review 18:I love scrambled egg but the scrambled egg I had for breakfast was so disgusting that I couldn't eat it. Needs butter, more beating and seasoning.

Review 19:Comfort of the bed. Size of the bathroom. The peace.

Review 20:5ish min drive from centre of Uzes, 15/20 min walk, clean and comfortable, plenty of parking, good size pool with comfy sun loungers, buffet breakfast with eggs available, a very good option

Review 21:Hosts helpful with local knowledge. Comfortable and efficiently run hotel. Excellent breakfast, caters for all Nationalities. Location good with car. Great pool area.

Review 22:Nothing whatsoever.

Review 23:Quiet room with comfortable bed and all necessary facilities. Excellent breakfasts and helpful, informative owners. Lovely pool to provide a place to relax after a day's sightseeing.

Review 24:The owners, a Belgian couple, are wonderful hosts. It is an advantage to be a bit outside the center of Uzes, yet an easy 10-minute walk to the town center from a nearby free parking area recommended out by the always-cheerful proprietor.

Review 25:Service more like a motel than hotel Could not adjust air conditioning

Review 26:Very pleasant and helpful staff when available - we were travelling at end of season so a quiet period.

Review 27:Rick, the owner, pays attention to every detail. The rooms are emasculate, service is superb, and location could not be better. We spent two nights and were close to the Pont du Gard, beautiful hill villiages, an unbelievable Saturday Market in Uzes, and best of all St. Quentin le Poterie. We recommend Le Saint Genies to anyone wanting a great stay in a great area

Review 28:We noted only 2 points which could be improved : the pool filtering equipment and the fridges on the breakfast terrace were very noisy. That spoiled a bit the quietness of the place.

Review 29:We stayed for one night at this hotel during a weeklong roadtrip in the Provence last August. The hotel is situated in the northern suburbs of Uzès. It has comfortable rooms with very large showers. There is a large free parking and a nice pool. The Belgian couple who own the place were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a delight. Pricewise this hotel compares very favourable to other similar hotels in the region. It provides excellent lodging and great service at a very reasonable price.

Review 30:Nothing, everything was very good.

Review 31:The location was excellent and we could walk into the town of Uzes. The swimming pool was perfect. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were fresh and clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was exactly what we expected. The location was also very handy. The price was very fair.

Review 32:It was a fair way outside town, but that doesnt matter, as the welcome is warm & there is a pool to cool down in. It was quite an adventure finding it, but tthe signs were clear even in the dark

Review 33:Spare furnishings but everything you needed & nothing fussy. Bathroom & shower felt spacious & were easy to use & very clean. Everything worked simply & well, iron shutters kept the room cool even in the heatwave. I like seeing all the bright white towels drying in the sun every morning, Will certianly come again & recommenf

Review 34:We had a most enjoyable 3 night stay in this hotel where we stayed for a local wedding. The proprietors could not have been more helpful or friendly and they organised taxis for us, recommended good local restaurants and gave us vouchers for the Pont du Gard which is well worth a visit. The bedroom was very comfortable with TV, comfortable bed, lovely views and there was a good swimming pool to have a dip in at the end of the day. We shall be returning I am sure. Many thanks. John and Georgie (UK)

Review 35:Air conditioning was a little noisy, so during the night turned off and opened windows but that let in the Mosquitos.

Review 36:Close enough to walk to the old town without parking worries. On site parking gives great access to places outside of Uzes. Staff were happy, friendly and very willing to give that little extra to ensure our stay was everything we wished for.

Review 37:Nothing.

Review 38:Tranquil location (especially breakfast on the patio), proximity to town (via pleasant walk), plenty of parking, extremely helpful, though unobtrusive, owners, pool big enough for a real swim.

Review 39:Excellent and friendly hosts, very clean rooms, all very good

Review 62:Ceiling height may be a problem on second floor. Narrow staircase!

Review 63:Quiet location.

Review 64:Too far out of town. No restaurant.

Review 65:Excellent parking. Rome was fine

Review 66:pool was good size although could do with renewing some of the paving stones round about it and proximity to Uzes.

Review 67:Difficult to find

Review 68:Spacious, very clean room with air conditioning

Review 69:A little isolated from centre ville.

Review 70:Beautiful setting with a great outlook. Friendly helpful proprietors, great room and facilities.

Review 71:Exceptionally helpful staff, and perfectly maintained rooms.

Review 72:Very Nice staff, very good breakfast, quiet place, short walk to centre ville

Review 73:Friendly staff. When we mentioned we were going to Pont Du Gard they gave us a 50% discount voucher. Quiet location, great outlook, well sign posted. Had a lovely pool but weather too bad to use.

Review 74:Rien.

Review 75:A friendly management, extremely helpful with restaurant and touristic suggestions. Great, quiet location about 20 min walk from centre. Good breakfast, clean, large pool, comfortable bed, bathroom - everything works fine.

Review 76:The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, just about 15 minutes stroll from the town centre. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast delicious!

Review 77:Waterproof bed cover: adds to feeling of heat.

Review 78:Calmness and quiet. Amiable staff. Swimming pool. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Good parking. Easy walk into town but far enough away to feel secluded.

Review 79:Small room, towels like sandpaper, poor facilities with not enough sun-beds for the guests. Not what I would call a hotel, more a motel!

Review 80:Walking distance, 15 minutes , into the centre of Uzes. Uzes is absolutely gorgeous and not to be missed.

Review 81:The room we stayed in was rather small and so was the bed. Next time we would book a larger one.

Review 82:Very friendly and helpful staff, nice pool, decent breakfast, clean rooms, good airco, free parking.

Review 83:There was very limited space to hang clothes especially for 3 of us. It wouldn't stop us returning to the hotel or recommending it to others.

Review 84:A very clean well kept small hotel, which was in a very quiet area but close enough to have a nice walk into town. Lovely pool. Uzes is beautiful, a lovely place to stay and relax.

Review 85:We had an excellent few days - the owners were friendly and welcoming and the accommodation and pool were great. The breakfast was good value and the scrambled eggs are not to be missed! thank you

Review 86:Prefer fresh fruit juice, particularly when fruit cheap. Loungers by pool need umbrellas - there's little shade.

Review 87:Friendly atmosphere. Pretty surroundings. Good breakfast.

Review 88:Bed was a bit small .

Review 89:Good location easy walk into Uzes centre. Lovely pool with nice area to sit in the sun or shade. Staff friendly and helpful and very reasonable price. Very clean room and bathroom .

Review 90:nothing

Review 91:The very relaxed atmosphere of the hotel and the owners. The condition of the hotel was excellent and the fittings were of a high standard. The breakfast was very good value for money, and the staff were very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended, and would certainly go there again

Review 92:Staff were friendly & accommodated our needs. Also, multilingual which made it easy to find out what we needed to know about the area & its offerings. We found their suugestions for restaurants excellent. The hotel itself was excellent with nice gardens, a pool & lovely breakfast terrace.

Review 93:The hotel was lovely and friendly, they were happy to help. Situated ina suburban and quiet area with views of fields which was delightful. Thesignage to find the hotel was excellent, and very appreciated, as it isso easy to get lost in France. Did not have breakfast there so cannotcomment on that. Would stay there again without a doubt.

Review 94:Nothing!

Review 95:Everything except the only restaurant nearby was hard to fnd as recommended. The breakfast was gourmet and a very romantic countryside scene.

Review 96:Our room was on the small side for a 5-night stay but the owner was extremely helpful with a very real emergency we had and found us the expert we needed in Uzes. The breakfast was amazing even down to scrambled or boiled eggs is required as well as meats, cheeses yogurts and fruit-as much as anyone could eat. Scrumptious croissants and breads. When we pass that way again we will definitely stay and explore the surrunding area more fully. Fully recommended for delightful and very helpful, friendly staff.

Review 97:The hotel is located in a quiet area on the outskirts of Uzes and hasample secure parking. The rooms are quiet well decorated andcomfortable. Breakfasts are excellent and can be taken on the terrace. There are stunning views of the surrounding countryside and villages.

Review 98:the room was very small . no facilities -more like 2 stars hotel -did not understand if the hotel was empty why they gave us such shabby room? nowhere to walk between one side of the (very small )bed and the wall. when we arrived there was no one we could ask for any help or change- alone in the hotel- not a good feeling. not worth the rating it got.

Review 99:the staff was one person and the hotel had no tourist -so it was very quite. it was out of the city -but had no advantage except breakfast.

Review 100:Nothing that we did not like.

Review 101:Although it was a little out of town - a plus for us because it was relaxing - it was centrally located for touring interesting areas nearby. A quiet location with ample parking and a nice pool. The rooms were clean and very comfortable with new bath fixtures and comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent and even included eggs if we wanted. The host family was most helpful and friendly. We only wished that we could have stayed longer.

Review 102:20 min walk from main town - just a touch too far.

Review 103:Extremely friendly owners, always around to help. Very pleasant room Excellent Wi-Fi coverage Excellent breakfasts

Review 104:This is a small hotel just on the outskirts of Uzes. It has a lovelypatio and breakfast room together with a good sized outdoor swimmingpool. We stayed there during a very hot period and really appreciatedthe use of the pool and the very efficient air conditioning in ourbedroom. The hosts, Carline and Rik were most welcoming and friendly andwent out of their way to ensure that we had a memorable stay in Uzes.

Review 105:Efficient but lacking in charm - a small amount of effort could have made it very nice, such as a few plants/ pots by the pool and on the terraces etc.

Review 106:Pool, air conditioned rooms (it was 36 degress in Uzes!) Handy for Uzes if you have a car - gets you out of the town centre. Clean rooms and efficient service.

Review 107:The only thing I can think of which would have been welcomed would be free tea and coffee facilities available at any time for guests either in the rooms or perhaps on the terrace.

Review 108:This hotel is situated in a quiet area a 20 minute or so walk from the centre of Uzes which for people who don't mind walking is perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, offering suggestions for good places to eat in Uzes and interesting places to visit in the surrounding area. The room was was adequately furnished and very clean with comfortable beds and pillows as well as a roomy bathroom. The breakfast available is good value and the terrace location overlooking the surrounding countryside is the perfect place to start the day. There is a lovely pool area with towels and lounges provided which offers welcome relaxation after a busy or warm day. There is also plenty of parking available.

Review 109:A very nice hotel in calm surroundings, overlooking fields far away. Very service-orientated and helpful owners, who recommended an excellent restaurant in the old part of Uzès. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is located 5-10 minutes by car from the city centre. Uzès is a very charming town with an old inner pedestrian area.

Review 110:We would have liked a simple evening meal but there was nothing at all available. It was alittle too far out of town to walk,so had to go out inthe car.

Review 111:The hotel was in a quiet area ,out of town, and felt very secure. The private swimming pool was a welcome extra. Rooms were bright and very well cared for. Good relaxed atmosphere.

Review 112:Could not have asked for better hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and the hotel and rooms were kept spotlessly keen. Thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone - good value for money. I would rate it a 9/10.

Review 113:It was a delightful 3 days at the hotel. The location was quiet with great views of the countryside. These could be seen from the rooms or the veranda. Breakfast outside on the veranda was relaxing. The variety of breakfast suited your needs and the choice of eggs was a nice change from the typical boiled eggs. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre and it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the center and have quiet. The owners are helpful, informative and clearly available to meet the needs of their guests. This is a hotel I would highly recommend for a stay in Uzes.

Review 114:We were very pleased with the Hôtel Le Saint-Geniès. We spent three nights there. The owners were very friendly and offered helpful suggestions about the area and also about a route to take when we left the hotel. It was a perfect location to visit the Pont du Garde and not too far from other cities that we wished to visit.

Review 115:We cannot say enough good about the helpful and friendly reception we received on our arrival. The hotel owner went above and beyond to help us not only for sightseeing information but also kindly acted as an interpreter for us on some business matter. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good, well worth the cost. This is one one of the better hotels we have stayed at and all at a great cost.

The Fine Print
