Reviews for Lemon Hotel - Tourcoing
Review 1:The refugees around the entrance The fire alarm going off 4 times during the night. The dirty sheets. No toilet paper. Dirty toilet and shower blood in shower tray. Unable to get into the hotel. Broken key pad on entrance door. Booked breakfast but none available. Did not feel safe. I left during the night and sleep in my car. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
Review 2:It was cheap. But not worth this risk felt endangered this the vagrants hanging around the hotel
Review 3:I’m pretty sure they call it Lemon because it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth! We read a couple of bad reviews before staying here but thought maybe those people had high standards and it can't be all that bad right? Wrong! We've stayed in some dives before but nothing like this.Located around the corner from some shanty town/slum and sandwiched between a petrol station and a supermarket, the Lemon hotel’s rooms are very basic but after staying in F1 hotels we're used to that and you can't really complain at £20 a night. Wrong again! We were a little intimidated going into the hotel with people waiting outside, staring at us and generally looking a bit shifty. We got the impression they were’t really staying there and were just clocking folk going in and out of their vehicles/hotel. From then on, we were on edge for the whole stay and were constantly worried about our vehicle being broken into. When we were brave enough to venture out of the hotel for food we were sure to take all of our belongings with us and return before dark. The hotel itself is very dirty and run down to say the least and I got the impression that whole families were living there! We dreaded going to the toilet and the shower but plucked up the courage to do both. It’s probably the only time I’ll have to cut open a plastic carrier bag to stand on while taking a shower. Thank god we had hand sanitiser but even after numerous dousings, we still felt dirty and probably will do so for a few more weeks to come.Best described as Dot Cotton's jail cell when she was in her smoking prime, the smell of the hotel is like no other! It’s a mixture of smoke, deep fried food and manure. The clothes I slept in absolutely stank of stale smoke the next day and will now probably need incinerated.Overall, I think I only slept a couple of hours as there was constant noise and commotion throughout the night.
Review 4:The price, the wi-fi and the fact our van didn't get broken into.
Review 5:digusting. decor. came back to find door open both nights. ended up leaving early and not staying third night as felt unsafe.full of familys of refugees living 8 in a room. burnt out cars in car park
Review 6:nothing
Review 7:we did not feel safe, there were no stuff to help. the door of our room did not open, and it took us 1 hour to find one of the stuff to open the door for us, some guys followed my girl friend in the corridor and asked her for affairs ...
Review 8:It was ok just 8 miles from lille very quiet at night, Shame the toilet was shared but we did nt use the bathroom. I did nt like the controlled light when one is inside the toilet the light switches off. it is ver scary. There a strong smell whether the tenants smoked there previously or it the drain because of thr=e sink. I would sleep again i don t mind.
Review 9:There were people sitting at doorway, just outside - looked like refugees. Just inside the 'kitchen area' looked derelict - no chairs. Walls/doorways looked badly scuffed Vending machine was totally empty Floors did not look clean in bedrooms Didn't feel safe to leave any belongings in bedroom. No breakfasts available despite advertised as provided & had booked this No soap in bedroom to even wash hands One wooden chair in room in such a mess would not sit on it
Review 10:Clean, very helpful staff, helped me with the internet, comfortable bed!
Review 11:hotel not finished ! works in the hotel
Review 12:Plus jamais. Un cauchemar complet !!
Review 13:Broken glass in car park, broken doors, no locks on bathrooms, dirty toilets, unclean, noisy, dirty smell, hairs in the bed! No food facilities and nothing nearby, not a nice part of town. Also nowhere near the map location!
Review 14:Grim,very grim, rough area, desk clerk didn't give a flying ****,the whole place smelled of frying food..On the plus side it was cheap and the van didn't get broken into [we were surprised]you pay your money and you take your choice..
Review 15:room very small, someone before us was smoking in the room, smell was awful. problems with internet, very slow, also we got it just for few hours, later conection failed and we been told that we reached our day limit! we stay for two days, next day was no internet at all, because our limit was done. showers and toilets not close to the room. staf do not speak english, not helpful at all.
Review 16:price is good. supermarket near, car park with plenty spaces
Review 17:French mafia seem to meet out the front of the hotel so you need to becomfortable with that. No bin in the room. Some toilets were broken andso had to use in the dark! Cigarette ends under the bed. Also onarrival given a code for wrong room and walked in on 2 people in bed! Also a strange man routing through bins near to the cars and a childstaring through our car window when we woke up. (We could see the carfrom the hotel window which is a must). Towels provided were wet andsmelt strange. Some of this is not the hotels fault. General cleanliness is though. I have stayed in safer and cleaner hostels. Also WiFi never worked until the morning.
Review 18:Staff was helpful although spike barley a word of English. I don'tblame him for this it is our fault for not speaking French. That said beaware that check in I'd tricky if you don't speak French! The price was okay for area. We paid 26euro which was very cheap compared to even camping this close to Brussels.
Review 19:the toilet seat in the morning was covered in urine and the light in the toilet had a fault which turned off as soon as the door closed so you had to pee in the dark or wait for ages to use another
Review 20:The manager was very helpful he set my satnav to go to a decent italian restaraunt
Review 21:Former f1 hotel , some tear and wear left and right. Strange location.
Review 22:Great value , 26 euro per night. You get what you pay for. Greatinternet ! Better than in Accor!
Review 23:Not 24hr check in. Hallways full of vomit due to coach party of teens, not cleaned until following afternoon. Lights broken in room. Separate shower and toilet not cleaned. Towels and bed sheets had hair in them. Located in supermarket car park and broken glass in parking bays. No breakfast although paid for. No kettles available and one microwave at reception switched off.
Review 24:Parking was free
Review 25:We needed 2 rooms, oringinally the price was 34 euros, when I remindedthe receiptionist it was 2 rooms the price was 71euos? 37 for the 2nd?The fire alarm went off twice, 10pm and 1am and there was no rush tosilence the alarms. The area is very deprived
Review 26:Price overall.
Review 27:You get what you pay for here. Shared bathrooms are a bit likeportaloos, but have self-cleaning capabilities so aren't too bad.Pin code access to rooms, but our code didn't work at one stage andhad to get help to get back in. Breakfast very cheap and basic - wouldbe better to get it somewhere else, or even shop at the supermarket nextdoor. We struggled at check in, as our French is limited and thereceptionist didn't speak any English.
Review 28:Cheap accommodation, reasonably comfortable bed and fridgeprovided in room.Carparking available as the hotel is located in a supermarket carpark, however can request access to locked gate carparking, but need a staff member to open the gate whenever you want in/out. Also good to have the supermarket next door, if you happen to be there during opening hours! Location not far from central Tourcoing, about 20 minutes to Lille. Good location as a stopover if you have a car, but otherwise not much else nearby.
Review 29:very bad, not clean!!!!
Review 30:Budget hotel if you just want somewhere to rest for the night. The guy at reception was friendly and the beds were comfortable.
Review 31:Lcation not convenient
Review 32:The price. Bathroom facilities not ensuite, but good.
Review 33:Nice helpful staff, very good value for money they even left freshtowels which surprised me as it was so cheap to stay there
Review 34:Location looks very abandoned.
Review 35:Clean, neat, nice service.
