Reviews for Lyons Nant Hall Hotel

Review 1:Small issue about the way breakfast is served. No menus so staff have to list everything available , feel under pressure to choose something quickly. Would be so much nicer to have cereals , juice etc set out as most places do. Some rooms over the bar and you can hear noise from below.

Review 2:Rooms lovely, we'll presented , bathrooms great.

Review 3:Breakfast was a bit poor with no yoghurts or fruit available so if you didn't want a cooked breakfast it was cereal only.

Review 4:The evening meal was lovely just a shame we had to eat it in the bar area. The suite we had was really lovely & made the little get away for us.

Review 5:The fact we wasn't warned the party was directly underneath are room so no sleep at all and the manager I'm assuming was very rude and far from helpful will definitely not be wasting my money here again which is a shame as the hotel itself is lovely

Review 6:The room was gorgeous

Review 7:Room too small for a family of 4 put up beds next to radiates and could not get to seating or window without climbing over put up beds

Review 8:Very clean and friendly would recommend

Review 9:The staff were friendly and attentive . The Amazing food was the highlight of our stay . And the room was beautiful and comfortable even if the weather didn't play ball

Review 10:lovely clean and comfortable room, nice decor very friendly staff, chatty and helpful ,would recommend this hotel to a friend, excellent breakfast, central heating on - always worry room might be cold

Review 11:The noise,There was an engagement party and the noise kept us awake i.e. music and all the smokers gather outside below our window.kept me awake till 3am

Review 12:Staff and food was very good .Room comfortable

Review 13:Booked this hotel room for my daughter, her partner and two children aged 12 years and 7 months. Very welcoming staff who fell in love with baby. Very clean room with child's bed and cot provided. Beautiful full English breakfast even provide porridge for the baby. Excellent

Review 14:We were in Prestatyn for a family party so we stayed for one night at the nant hall hotel. Made very welcome on arrival. Very clean room, very nice staff and a great breakfast. Lovely hotel, very nice people and highly recommended.

Review 15:Beautiful Impressive building, with extremely clean and comfortable bedrooms. Lively well stocked bar and an impressive menu with local produce resulting in great food. Most impressive of all was the staffs nothing being to much trouble attitude. The attitude of manager and staff make this great little gem of a hotel even more attractive . We will stay here again

Review 16:room was dusty didn't like the fact you had to walk through the bar to go to you room as its a pub we stayed above the front door very load people talking out side till closing thought it was pricey "£110 a night more like a bb than a hotel

Review 17:nice looking place from out side staff was nice

Review 18:It would have been good to have better and bigger towels and a shower with a curtain and riser. I would advise anyone who plans to stay here to check if they are having any wedding parties or leaving 'dos' first. The noise coming from the marquee literally reverberated through the bed, this continued until 04.00. As we had a five hour drive the next day we were not impressed.

Review 19:Brilliant suite for our honeymoon, good breakfast and evening meal, very friendly staff.

Review 20:Because my husband has mobility problems we were unable to go downstairs to eat, we requested room service, out of the stated hours, & were told no problem, ring down when you want to eat & the food was hot, plentiful & very tasty

Review 21:Room / hotel could be cleaner, would of been nice to of been informed about the parties happening when we booked our room !

Review 22:Food / service brilliant, all staff friendly, happy

Review 23:The Booking.com entry suggested parking needed to be reserved but on phoning the hotel, it doesn't.

Review 24:From the outside this place looks and feels like a hotel. On walking in, it looks and feels like a pub - a bustling pub at that - with the hotel 'reception' being a tiny desk at the end of the bar. On entering the bedroom, it was as high quality as any 4 star hotel - spotless, well-equipped and silent despite the Wales-v-England rugby match on the bar screens downstairs! The restaurant was full so we ate in the bar area which, whilst quite noisy with (very good-humoured) rugby fans, was well-staffed and efficient. The food was excellent and well above 'pub-grub' standard.

Review 25:The only downside was carpet needed vacuum . Plus we found a pair of socks in the draw and they was not ours

Review 26:I liked the friendly staff who would go out of there way to do anythink for u . Our room was fantastic

Review 27:Poor value for price. Small room. Didn't start breakfast until 8 o'clock. Wouldn't think of recommending it.

Review 28:The staff was very nice. Convenient location.

Review 29:Having to come home

Review 30:Everything about this place was great I traveled with my 3 year old daughter a bit of daddy daughter time and it was great staff friendly rooms are great bed was so comfy Will definitely be returning

Review 31:The only thing I'd say is if you are after a quiet getaway, there was loud music playing till late from the bar which you could hear from the room. We waited a long time for the food to be served but you could tell it was freshly made so that made up for the wait.

Review 32:room was immaculate, very clean and absolutely gorgeous decor. Really loved how comfy the bed was, and the bathroom mirror is great for doing make up :)

Review 33:I booked a deluxe family room (you advertised this as a double and two single beds but with three adults in the room, we got a double bed and a small Z bed, which was also broken! I complained to the staff but all the management would do was to offer another double bed room for the third adult at a reduced extra cost of £60 (down from £90 plus VAT. This was clearly not acceptable but we had not choice but to "manage". The ceiling of the room also had numerous cobwebs with resident spider. On the first night we were only provided with enough towels and cups for two people. The roller blind did not work although the curtains were sufficient. Breakfast was OK but breakfast cerial and jiuce had to be requested. The staff went online to view the Booking.com site and confirmed that this showed the room with a double bed and two single beds in the room but they did not have a room like this on site! I feel really let down by the booking and unless I am compensated for the family disappointment, I will not use it again.

Review 34:The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The roast dinner and breakfast were delicious. Credit to the staff, the young staff were very professional.

Review 35:Bedrooms have inadequate sound insulation for the music/entertainments that can, in our case, go on until nearly 2 am. The breakfast was luke warm and the sausage in particular could only be described as Industrial, there was no breakfast menu offered, nor was an offer of orange juice etc. My advice is, check if there is a function taking place when you intend to book, if there is, give it a miss.

Review 36:Facilities for our grandson to play and a comfortable bed.

Review 37:Walking into a restaurant/bar with no sign of reception, didn't really know where to go, had to ask a member of the public, doesn't feel like a hotel really, more of a restaurant/bar with beds! Reception needs a sign! Also felt that £111 for a bed was very overpriced!!

Review 38:The bed was very comfortable

Review 39:Perhaps as we were there on a bank holiday it didn't give as good an impression as normal... There are pictures on the Internet of some beautiful food ...whe are good was "nice" we had a very limited menu. Perhaps once again this was "bank hioliday" menu

Review 40:Staff were very courteous

Review 41:Arrived after 3 and the room was still not ready, toilet roll was missing from the bathroom and the cleanliness of the bath was not great. The worst bit was the service in the restaurant, we ended up walking out. After being sat down we were not given any menus, had to ask three times before we got some. After this we waited 40 mins with no drinks or orders being taken, staff were ignorant and oblivious.

Review 42:The room was nice, bed very comfy and hotel grounds very scenic.

Review 43:Advertised as a king with double twin by Booking.com ( double twin turned out to be a camp bed!) Music loud until 1 oclock in the morning - so much for been fully relaxed and refreshed the next day...

Review 44:Staff were attentive.

Review 45:No breakfast menu on table. £8.00 is a lot of money for a bacon sandwich and £8.00 for overcooked poached egg on toast. Breakfast needs addressing.

Review 46:Good location and friendly staff. Cleanish rooms , cobwebs on ceilings and lighting.

Review 47:When I go to breakfast in any hotel i really do expect to be greeted by a member of staff not having to wait 10 minutes and then I had to knock on the kitchen door to get someone out otherwise ok.

Review 48:Children running around in the bar area. Cigarette end's outside main door.

Review 49:Overall the stay was a plesent experience. Good location, pleasing surrounding. Friendly staff.

Review 50:The staff are wonderful and help make for a memorable stay! Service is excellent, food is good value and very well prepared. In all, miles ahead of any of its competitors.

Review 51:We booked a family room but when we arrived the polite checking in lady informed us the computer had a problem and put us in room 2. A double put up bed was put in the room and therefore the room was quite cramped. There was a fan in the room but no air conditioning so sleep was very difficult as it was very hot. The room would have been fantastic if it was for a couple of people.

Review 52:The location was excellent and the park within the surroundings of Nant Hall was excellent even for my older children. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was plenty and the young lady who served was very sweet and polite.

Review 53:Would benefit from extra staff to keep the external areas, particularly the play area and sun terraces, clean and tidy. Quite a bit of rubbish and empty glasses etc. Need bigger bath towels. Breakfast would benefit from having a menu and self service cereals, juices, tea, coffee....

Review 54:Play area great for the children. Dinner was lovely and value for money. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Review 55:Noisy!!!! Wedding party or similar at the hotel, disco till 1am, continuing noise from guests till at least 2am when police were called to ask people to leave. Hotel bar area set up with DJ equipment, dance area and party lights, this is obviously a regular occurrence.

Review 56:Room appears to have been recently refurbished to a nice standard. Shame the toilet was dirty.

Review 57:What a wonderful hotel. The is no negatives to this hotel, food, cleanliness all top notch. But best of all is the fantastic staff who make your stay special

Review 58:the breakfast was ok, but I would prefer to have a buffet style, but it was brought to us quickly and the lady was v nice who served us and it was hot

Review 59:bed was lovely and comfortable, room was v good, spotlessly clean, free wifi, really nice shower room, we didn't eat an evening meal so cannot comment on that, seemed a great place to go if you had children with the fab swing park/play ground which seemed v popular, plenty of free parking too even though it was busy

Review 60:We didn't have a curtain in our room so had to block the window with cushions, quite noisy outside our window so we could hear other guests shouting and swearing outside so could probably do with some double glazing in this window. Breakfast wasn't of a good standard as there wasn't a menu provided on the table so you could choose your breakfast, no continental breakfast was available or fresh orange juice. We had to buy breakfast so you'd expect a bit more for your money. Probably not the best location if you are wanting to get some sleep before 1am in the morning.

Review 61:The room/bathroom were well furnished and decorated to a high standard. Evening meal was expensive but worth it as the meal tasted gorgeous and there was a lot of it. Pub service was good and there was seating inside and out

Review 62:Bath towels very small. 10 o'clock checkout time rather early. Breakfast not included in room price. Cleanliness of toilet had not been checked.

Review 63:Staff friendliness and willingness to help. Immediate response to change room when it was discovered that the toilet in allocated room contained faeces.

Review 64:Having booked a room for up to 4 adults, deluxe family, I was surprised to find only a double bed and then when I asked was given a fold up bed as the hotel has no family rooms!! Also quite noisy into the night as room was right above front door, ie smokers corner with people outside talking until gone 1am!

Review 65:Nothing really all staff very pleasant

Review 66:Lovely room although smokers congregated just outside entrance of hotel which was directly below our room which could be unpleasant if hot weather and needed window open

Review 67:All went downhill the morning after the party breakfast was awful asked what we would likefor breakfast told cooked breakfast or alternate?? Daughter asked for poached egg got a fried egg butter portion when opened had been used and put back in the bowl twice that happened I had a hair on my food could go on so felt really upset and annoyed as we paid quite a lot for our overnight stay with breakfast no choice of cereal fruits ect and to top it all when we packed our clothes to come home found used underpants in the drawer next to the bed considering there is only 2 drawers in the room that should have not happened when I told reception she said il check on that !! Excuse me but that should have been done before we entered the room overall very unhappy experience which was a shame as the eve before was great.

Review 68:Stayed here one night following a family 60 th birthday buffet in the evening was lovely

Review 69:Every thing else.noisey.breakfeasts total rip off.owner more interested in driving around in posh car than making it a hotel.would not recommend it and would not stay there again if you paid me.

Review 70:Rooms nice.

Review 71:We booked a superior family room but was given small room with two camp beds which fitted wall to wall, so you had to climb over them, also no running water for shower in the morning, told this was because they were busy and everyone uses showers in morning!!!!!!!

Review 72:The breakfast was a little disappointing ,just variations of a full English, tea coffee or juice definitely not the same standard as the restaurant food we had at lunch and evening.

Review 73:The bedroom facilities were very good and the lunch and evening food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were excellent.

Review 74:- Booked the economy room since I had no intention of spending much time there, but found that it neither had a window nor ventilation. This was unpleasant since the room was obviously dark and depressing, despite the good decoration and furniture. I asked to change and pay extra, but the hotel was booked. I was told that on Booking.com website and that of the hotel it states that the economy room has no window. I have double checked and it doesn't, and other guests have mentioned this in their reviews. My advice is to ask which room you will be in when booking - call the hotel since the economy offered on Booking.com does not appear on the hotel's own site, and it is not that much cheaper. - Room service food and breakfast were ok, but there was no offer of a refill of coffee offered or more toast and spread.

Review 75:- The staff: from being shown to my room at check in to the wonderful woman who served breakfast, generally the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. - The furnishing of the room: all rooms are decorated to a common theme with classic furniture and chandelier. - The bathroom was well appointed and had a decent number of towels and toiletries. - Free wifi - always a bonus and at a decent speed. - Free parking

Review 76:Walking in the front door to find yourself standing in a noisy, dark bar, no idea where to check in. When you locate the reception its small , untidy and extremely unwelcoming, not what you expect from the outside. Quiet so no other guests but breakfast odd. Tables dirty from the night before , uninviting and really let the hotel down. No menu, waitress listed items available but this just didn't work ,food ok when it arrived. Needs to do some work downstairs as very poor compared with upstairs.

Review 77:Location great, first impressions very nice looking hotel. Room very nicely decorated with everything you might need , very comfy bed, quiet and a good nights sleep. Bathroom excellent . Both rooms very clean.Staff friendly.

Review 78:The music being very loud till 1130pm, we needed to sleep but it was far to loud in our room, to sleep through that level of noise was impossible

Review 88:Staff were very welcoming and certainly bent over backwards for us. The hotel is spotless, the rooms excellent, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very nice and more than sufficient..We enjoyed our stay at the Nant Hall hotel and would highly recommend it.

Review 89:The only criticism I have is not with the hotel or staff but with bookings.com who failed to process one of my bookings but also charged for one of the rooms and for breakfast which they shouldn't as this is included in the price! I would check with the hotel direct!

Review 90:Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Rooms were comfotable, stylish and clean. Very good facilities including tea and coffee making facilites, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, wifi and tv. Breakfast was excellent. There's and adventure park for the kids or adults and lots of outdoor space.

Review 91:The only downfall of the room was that there was no window.

Review 92:The room was comfortable, excellent decor and the staff were very helpful and obliging. We would stay again.

Review 93:No wifi in room, business travellers needs wifi in room. Got to get this sorted out.

Review 94:A good mix from past and present. A a lot of thought has gone into the referb, finish to a very high standard.

Review 114:It was very noisy at night

Review 115:Only English breakfast available. No cereals, yoghurt nor jams available. Stairs were not clean.

Review 116:Quality of food was good and the bathroom

Review 117:Loud music till 3am, false claims of a king sized bed, no TV signal.

Review 118:The comfortable bed and nice bathroom

Review 119:nothing

The Fine Print

Please note that due to the age of this historic building, the hotel do not offer wheelchair access to their bedrooms. However, they do have good ground-floor access to the restaurant.
